Valery Petrovich Kostrin is a man whose whole life has been spent in cinema. And although his name and he himself are unknown to the general public, partly due to his work and talent, many domestic films have been painted in the colors in which we are used to seeing them.
Valery Kostrin (born January 17, 1938) is a production artist who came to cinema from the art faculty of VGIK. Before, however, he graduated from the pedagogical school in Gorky, but in the end chose a completely different path for himself.
Since 1967, Valery Petrovich became a production designer of one of the largest film studios - Mosfilm, also worked a lot with colleagues from Lenfilm, a number of other studios. His first film was the almanac The Beginning of the Unknown Century (1967). Kostrin was the director of such masterpieces of domestic cinematogarf as
White Sun of the Desert" "The Star of Captivating Happiness,"
The Caucasian Prisoner and many other films, where he created films on the same set with real legends of domestic cinema. A talented artist, he many times took part in all-Union and international exhibitions of film posters and even organized his own, the name of which eloquently speaks about the essence of his profession – “Three seconds on the screen and thirty years in a row”. ?
