Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi was born in Warsaw on June 17, 1939.
From 1955 to 1959 he studied at the University of Warsaw, where he studied physics and philosophy. But his profession still chose cinema and in 1966 he graduated from the Director’s Faculty at the Pozdna School. Death of a Provincial (1966) became the thesis of the aspiring director and immediately received a prize at the Venice Film Festival.
