Jean-Paul Salome studied the art of cinema at the Sorbonne, then directed two short films, one of which participated in various film festivals. After his debut feature film, shot in 1991 for television, the director directed the film Les Braqueuses (1993), and five years later released the film Stay Together. In 2000, Jean-Paul Salome staged the special effects-rich film Belphegor the Ghost of the Louvre, starring Sophie Marceau and Frederick Diefenthal.
