Nora-Jane Noone was born on International Women’s Day on March 8, 1984 in Galway. Her first film role was in Peter Mullan's The Magdalene Sisters. This is a dramatic story about three girls - Rose, Bernadette and Margaret - who are trapped in the harsh world of the monastery, where human dignity is ungodly suppressed.
The role of Benedetta brought Nora-Jane huge popularity. The film was awarded the main prize of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, and the actress herself was awarded the British Independent Film Award.
In 2005, the film “Descent” with Noon appeared on the screens. This horror film directed by Neil Marshall was about a group of girls who never returned from a terrible cave. The film brought a huge income and was recognized as the best horror film of the year.
In 2008, Noon played in the action movie “Judgment Day” directed by Neil Marshall, another version of the Apocalypse, and in the web series about vampires “Inside”.
