In 1997, Iain Glen was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Best Actor in Martin Guerre. In 1999, Glen was awarded the same award (for the 1998 season) in the category of Best Actor for his role in The Blue Room, in which the famous Nicole Kidman played. He is remembered for his brilliant performances in Macbeth at the Tron Theatre, Henry V of the Royal Shakespeare Company. The success of the actor brought roles in the plays “Silent Scream” and “Gedda Gabler” on the stage of London’s Duke of York’s Theatre.
For his work in the play “The Hard Trial”, he was nominated for the Olivier Award in the category Best Actor.
His film career began in 1985 with a small role in the popular British TV series Taggart. In 1987, Glen appeared on the big screen in a supporting role in Will You Love Me Tomorrow, and the following year on television took part in the filming of the series The Fear.
