Vladimir Yakanin is a unique personality in Soviet and Russian art. He not only played on stage and in films, but also created his own theatrical productions, and in the film "Fart" (working title "Black Candle"), which was released in 2006, he already acted as a screenwriter and film director.
Vladimir Alexandrovich was born in 1945 in Ulan-Ude, received a theatrical education, graduating in 1971 from the Saratov Theatre School named after I. A. Slonov. The talented young actor was noticed on the student bench by the director of the Saratov Theatre, in which Vladimir later worked until 1974. But Yakanin was interested not just to embody someone else’s idea on the stage, but to be the creator of theatrical action himself, and therefore he decides to enter the directorial faculty of GITIS, where Professor I. Tumanov becomes his teacher.
The skill of directing Yakanin learned from
Ivan Turgenev . In total, in the period from 1980 to 1997, on the stages of various Russian theaters, the director staged about twenty performances, including: “Bath” (according to V. Mayakovsky), “The Elder Son” and “Metromontage” (according to A. Vampilov), “Measure for Measure” (according to W. Shakespeare), “Zykov” (according to M. Gorky), “Deaf’s Nest” and “On the Wedding Day” (according to V.Rozov) and others.
Yakanin as an actor debuted in one of the cult paintings of those times - the film "How steel was hardened" (1972). Then there was participation in the films “The End of the Emperor of the Taiga”, “Clinic”, “French”, “Ice Age”, “On the Corner at the Patriarchs-3”, “Cossacks-Robbers”. Special places in this list is the film "Fart", which was shot on the novel.
In which he spoke about the lives of prisoners in Kolyma.
Another facet of Yakanin’s work is directing on TV, here he acted as a director of programs of TV companies “Vzglyad”, “New Studio”, “NTV”, “Moscow”, “Ostankino”, “VGT”. /
