Jacques was born in 1929. From an early age he loved to take part in various amateur performances. But the parents did not support the boy and wanted him to continue the family business. He didn't do well in school. The situation was saved only by his participation in the group “Franche Corde”. Together they gave performances in hospitals and nursing homes.
After graduation, he still had a craving for creativity. In 1952, Brel began writing songs and performing them at parties and with his family. Soon his first album came out, which unfortunately turned out to be a failure. But this did not stop Jacques from further creative activity.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Brel was engaged in music. He recorded records and toured extensively. He even visited the Soviet Union, performing in several cities. In 1967, Jacques left the stage.
In the same year, Brel decided to try himself as a movie actor. His debut took place in the film.

In 1968, Jacques Brel took part in the play The Man from La Mancha. He played two roles: Cervantes and Don Quixote. Brel's acting career did not end there. In 1971, he again starred in the movie “Murderers in the Name of Order”.

Jacques Brel died in 1978 after a long illness.
