Robin Shaw is a popular Hollywood actor of Chinese origin.
Shaw was born in Hong Kong on July 17, 1960 in the family of a tailor and housewife. Robin was the fourth of five children.
In 1971, their family left Hong Kong and moved to America. There, Robin settled quite quickly, learned English and began to study campo karate. However, realizing that he could not achieve more here, in 1981 the young man went to China to study Wushu, without even telling his parents. A year later, Shaw won a gold medal at national competitions for the part with weapons and a silver medal for hand-to-hand combat.
After becoming a master of wushu, Robin returns to America and enters the University of California, which graduates with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. However, the degree of engineer was not useful to him, as Robin decided to become a film actor.
His debut role was the television movie Forbidden Nights (1989). However, the film was a fiasco and Robin returned to Hong Kong. However, his career does not add up here, and the actor is hopelessly slipping into the pool of cheap action films shot for a few dollars in the Philippines by second-rate directors.
After a series of setbacks, Robin decides to return to the United States. At this time, fate turns to him, and the actor is offered a role in the promising film Mortal Combat, which will become a legend of cinema and bring the actor world fame. On the wave of popularity some time later comes the sequel of this film called
"Mortal Battle 2: Extermination" .
Unfortunately, after that, the career of the film actor goes down. His next work is a comedy picture.
"Ninja Beverly Hills" With Chris Farley in the title role was not so bad, but could not reveal Robin’s talent either as a fighter or as an actor. Having starred in several more similar films, Robin finally abandoned his acting career and stopped acting.
Currently, the actor alternately lives in the United States, then in Thailand.
