Elena (Alena) Chukhrai was born on January 12, 1946 in a cinematic family – her father Yuri Egorov, who began as an actor, later became a famous Soviet director and screenwriter, who shot such popular films as “Once Twenty Years Later” and “Fathers and Grandparents”. Alena also decided to connect her fate with cinema, so she entered the Moscow Art Theater School. Her fellow students in the years of study there were later such famous actors as Ekaterina Gradova, Tatiana Vasilyeva, Galina Besedina.
