Lexander Kiselev was born in Chelyabinsk. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1996. At the International Festival of Vocalists in Johannesburg in 1995, he won the first prize at the festival. Glinki won the Chaliapin prize. He was a finalist in the Plácido Domingo 1996 Operalia competition. He received the first prize at the International Vocal Competition at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1997, the third prize of the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1998 in Moscow. Winner of the first prize

In 1994-1995 he trained at the Novaya Opera (Moscow), and from 1995 to 1998 at the Stanislavsky Musical Theatre (Moscow). In 1998, he was accepted for an internship at the Bolshoi Theatre, with whom he toured in London (1999), Seoul (1999), Trieste (2001), Ravenna (Ricardo Muti Festival, 2000), Hong Kong (2002). He performed as a guest soloist in Zagreb, New York, Paris, The Hague, Prague (Prague Autumn Festival, 2001), Berlin (Boris Godunov’s party at the German Opera) and other cities.
