It all began for the 17-year-old Saint Laurent, who came to conquer Paris, with a small black cocktail dress he invented, awarded the first prize in his life. Since 1955, he was among those who created the image of the fashion house Christian Dior. At the age of 21, after the death of the founder of the house, he unexpectedly became the artistic director of this empire, but left there in 1961. Together with his life partner and business partner Pierre Bergé, he started his own business - the first collection was presented to the public on January 29, 1962.
