You know, I’m in a sense ZelenoSlenoVeda, because I watched this movie completely 7 times (not on the same day, of course). Judging by the reviews, people are divided into 2 types: those who did not like the film, and those who for fun come up with sublime interpretations and metaphors to it to anger even more type 1.
For all the time in the film, from the steady and undeniable, I was able to highlight only the emotion of madness, which gradually grows the whole film. Someone reacts to it with fear, and someone like me with a crazy laugh. But I would not look for a deep directorial idea here.
First of all, there are a lot of long plans without gluing together, during which the characters improvise hundreds of lines of dialogue. Even if they have some vector given by Baskova, such a giant improvisation greatly narrows the possible design. At times, Epifantsev or the cameraman begin to giggle at Pakhomov’s speeches, which also greatly reduces the far-fetched seriousness of the film that some attribute to him.
Secondly, after getting acquainted with the personalities of Epifantsev and Pakhomov outside the film, you understand that locking these two actors in any room alone with a movie camera, you will get the Green Elephant. Baskova, by the way, locked them in the “Five bottles of vodka”, and Epifantsev there deprived Pakhomov of his virginity, dressing him in a wedding dress. In general, they are eccentric and insane in themselves. So it's not that Baskova was determining what the final movie would look like. These are Pakhomov and Epifantsev - they are the creators of the film. They need to extort the idea of what was said, which, due to long-standing improvisation, they will not remember.
So to be honest, without snobbery, on behalf of the unmentioned 3rd group of viewers, Green Elephant is just incredibly crazy and funny. All. My brother and I could not have been soldiers before a tribunal, but homeless people on a heating track or geologists at an Arctic base. They would still be parsed out for quotes that people find crazy and funny out of context.
And about the meanings that people are joking or not looking for here – in any movie you can find meaning, from which the value of the criterion “having meaning” loses its essence. “Sense” becomes the criterion for a good movie when it is new and unheard before, when it can turn everything upside down. And to hear for the 101st time that "well, violence and war are like bad" and other vulgarities - this film does not praise, but only makes it a simple fairy tale for ordinary people. Therefore, do not look for mediocre meanings in the Green Elephant if you want to fill this film with an even higher price. Perhaps it would be better to dwell on the magnificent acting and brilliant insanity and funny dialogue.
“It’s a classic” that should be erased from memory.
I did not allow myself to write such negative and harsh reviews about films, because even in the weakest tape I tried to find something good.
I did not write a review immediately, because after watching the emotions took over, and it would have turned out too bright. It was necessary to sleep with these thoughts, with these, if I may say, impressions (at least try).
You know, they say the tape works if it evokes emotions, whatever they were. So, I will say: yes, I succeeded, because I have never really become ill several times in any of the most thrashing films. To retell exactly where and on what scenes I will not, I will only say that the closer the end, the nausea increased, and to the end and even rolled tears, because the mind refused to accept what I see. Self-defense, so to speak. What else can be said... I find it difficult not to go into the details of the story. There's no plot. If you try to abstract from the common hugely negative impressions and try to describe it, I will say this: there are many holes, there are no backstory of the heroes. Just took two, to put it mildly, not the most adequate characters of different ages (one of whom finally went to the final roof), put in a closed small basement location, according to the description of the scriptwriter of the guard-room, and said, do everything to the audience (and, I think, the crew consisting of one “director”) to cause disgust. Dialogue, action, shouting, no matter what. Sprinkle this hell with a "guard" character, dilute with ragged "interesting social" stories, and voila - get the viewer an extremely disgusting exhaust that is dangerous to watch an unprepared person. I will say this from myself, I have a feeling that the director just looking at this zoo during the filming was caused not just disgust, but a kind of perverse pleasure. How this underarthouse came to the masses is difficult to say. Who was this filmed for? As far as I know, even the brother Epifantsev several times regretted that he connected his career with this tape. I'm not surprised. Yes, this movie has become a kind of meme. Yes, in some circles it was disassembled for quotes, but I assure you, it is better to know this tape as an abstract object without fully familiarizing yourself with it.
Svetlana, you called this movie arthouse. In addition to him, several pictures of this format were shot. I really hope to find at least one of your interviews where you can explain where this amazing genre can be traced in your masterpieces. A movie filled with frank treshatina, motherfucker, absolutely stupid dialogue, naked genitals and twisted scenes is not an art house. Don't devalue this genre! I have seen a lot of arthouses, I can afford to express such an opinion.
Advice to everyone who was going to see this work: under no circumstances watch this. At least you can’t take anything positive out of it.
From the beginning, the film seems to be a parody of comedy. this feeling is dulled only by the location and the patient, gloomy faces of the main characters. In the 20th minute, you realize that there is nothing comedy here and there can be nothing. If you want a genuine film about society, it’s Green Elephant. In Pahome I saw the allegory of the creator, the artist. He is the truth. Epifantsev is a people, a society itself. The guard is power and all who possess it. So you can see that the movie shows how the people reject and hate the truth, and the government blasphemes the people, and it is necessary to see the truth. This is the first thought of the film, which many have already seen (albeit in a different form).
The second thought is mental maturation. Pahom's hero is an unhappy and simple child, accustomed to adulthood. Hero Epifantsev ' Normal' Realist, hiding his demons until the right moment. When he meets such a "big child" & #39; in the person of "Driving" & #39; he understands that before these people you can open up. Otherwise, just let yourself go. Tired of listening to delusional stories, 'Brother' (Epifantsev) yells at Pakhom, beats him, threatens or ignores. Yes, there is an irritant, but the reaction to it is much sharper. Because of mental peculiarities and immaturity, Pahom feels all of humanity in Brother (this is how his conversions in the plural can be explained). Having suffered and seen the real world in the person of Epifantsev, Pakhom loses control completely. From smearing feces and stupid stories, his actions go as far as smearing blood and screaming. . .
The end of the picture is universal cruelty, lust and suffering. 'Power' pressing ' Citizens' - hangs in a loop, ' Citizens', mad, raping power, a ' artist' howling in a corner...
Be sure to see everyone who believes that the world is full of good. Because of a lot of ugly scenes, I'll put
“Green Elephant” is minimalistic from the point of view of the plot, but compensates for this by the power of the performances of the main roles. The film is a detailed shooting of debauchery, which the main characters are engaged in. The lack of structure in the plot, while frustrating in terms of narrative, only reinforces the disgusting quality of the film, which sometimes resembles the film found due to the rough handcrafted camera.
As for the meaning of the message... If the director had made this dirty, meaningless, cheap and boring thing about future colonists on Mars, who would disagree with her? But she talks about things that never were and never could be. Patamushta on the “lip” ' rest ' based on their mental health and spiritual fulfillment. In officers, the notorious mental health could not be so neglected as can be judged by the behavior of the characters, and this also applies to spiritual fulfillment. So this film is supposedly about real life, trying to jump to global conclusions, real life is not at all concerned, and therefore is a complete womanhood in cinema.
The first time I was drunk, I decided to watch an elephant with two friends. Their reactions were diametrically opposed. One person, immersed in existentialism, mumbled about the fact that we were wasting time on this. Another laughed because of Epifantsev’s remarks and had a great time. I was sitting there and what I saw.
We couldn’t finish watching the movie, so I finished the elephant sitting at home alone.
I really appreciate books and films, where the main emphasis is on the psychoporter characters, their interaction and development. Therefore, even at the beginning, I was drawn into dialogue: mainly it was improvisation, the director just directed the flow of thoughts of the main characters in the right direction.
I felt sorry for Pahom, the child who, because of his merciless life, had built around him a ridiculous world of sweet bread. I felt how Epifantsev smoothly went mad from his powerlessness and weakness. I think I understood them. There was something about them that bothered me. I remember the feeling when Pakhom shouted out the phrase ' What are you doing, good people' from Epifantsev's blows. One day I was beaten with a goat. When the fight was over, I was knocked out on the pavement. A friend said my first words after waking up were ' why are you kind people' That was long before I saw the elephant. Interesting.
However, after reading the main idea of the film, I was disappointed. The film didn’t make me think about the failure of the army. I also consider the story of Jesus to be nonsense. It seems to me that the picture will not get better if it is dug into metaphors and subtexts, saying that everything is based on this. That doesn’t make sense.
In conclusion, the elephant can hardly be called a thin picture or even a film, because it seems to perform a different role. It's a terrible ride of kringe and disgust. He'll definitely wake you up to some animal. Something you don’t want to experience, but something that makes you alive.
I put a negative assessment because it seems that this is the assessment that the film deserves. It's underground and it has to be detached and unloved.
Read the reviews... Praiseworthy mainly relish the originality, and found there subtext about our country, the government. Negative write about black, thrash in the head of the Director.
I think a project made so long ago prefigured our condition today. It cannot be regarded by critics as a creative work. This is not a movie, this is a prediction, this is a harbinger of everything that is happening today.
Madness. Green reality has swept the world. The shit came out and it's beautiful, it's in demand by a lot of crazy people. No light. We're in a parallel world like this Brother. The only thing left is to go crazy and not die. But Brother could not go mad and he dies.
Perhaps all these madmen around him are figments of his imagination, materialized in his world from the collapse of his inner psychological equilibrium. They are not for us, they are for him, just as today for us there are no people around us, there are only bloggers, stars, neighbors, authorities, drinkers. Only functional characters. Either we all go crazy together and survive, or we remain intelligent and perish.
And otherwise, if the project-foreshadowing makes you think, then that’s good.
Of course, "Green Elephant" gained its wide popularity thanks to memes on the Internet. And if a person like me belongs to such a culture of humor, it will be very difficult for him to say about Elephant that this is a bad film - after all, initially, even before you start watching, you are very positive and friendly towards the picture.
So, based on the above, I certainly liked Sloan. But I don’t think it’s a normal movie, because obviously it’s a horribly done thrashack. But that's what's valuable about her. After all, the picture goes beyond all limits, becomes extremely absurd and free. And this opens up an infinite number of interpretations of the tape. Here you can stuff social, political, historical, psychological and even philosophical connotations. And this will not be some kind of syndrome of search for deep meaning, it turns into an elegant joke with a small degree of seriousness, into an opportunity to give the brain entertainment and give vivid images on the screen depth.
Of course, the film has one quality beyond absurdity that made it so iconic: dialogue. Do you know Tarantino's level? The characters talk about nothing, as one of the characters said, “about some fucking madam,” but at the same time these stories and conversations are so lively and interesting that they are breathtaking. They do not just say pathetic phrases and the camera jumps from one face to another, they actively interact, shout, go crazy, move, fight.
Well, the ending generally turns the film into surrealism worse than Lynch, although it just so few people can appreciate, often people turn off the film when the second act begins. And in vain, because in it there is even more going beyond the borders and even more freedom of meaning formation.
In an era when you don’t expect anything unusual from cinema in artistic terms, when the era of blockbusters successfully went and developed, thereby developing art, films like ' Green Elephant' were not bad. Although in the late 1990s, expensive cinema in Russia did not blow at all, many talented people around the country filmed black or pale TV works against the background of masterpieces of past years. But the creation of director Svetlana Baskova managed to get out of the ordinary, and now not faintly shocking with its naturalized savagery and sodomy. And this is at a time when the Internet has become a priority part of society, with the opportunity to witness all the horrors and nightmares of human madness. It is not surprising that ' The Green Elephant' gained its fame on the World Wide Web, thereby opening a new stream of development of author's cinema, which for some reason does not reach the big screens. It is worth mentioning, however, that the film Baskova was often in the programs of various festivals, and most of them took place in Europe, and he received prizes - all the facts at least indicate interest abroad in the domestic art-house brainchild.
Why 'Green Elephant' didn't make it to the rental - it's silly to explain and even stupid to think about it. Due to the presence in the tape of an endless number of obscene expressions, shock content, pornography and its imitation, the film was not loved by the mass audience, brought up on any cultural ideals. All social values are rejected, let alone moral values. Perhaps the show of the work opens up new traditions of thrash, because this film is not too suitable for the definition of the genre, but is associated with it. However, 'Green Elephant' still not a standard of garbage art due to the existence 'Pink Flamingo' John Waters was the inspiration behind Supernova’s crew, revisiting it several times to immerse themselves in the atmosphere. Especially on the American film ' sat' Sergey Pakhomov, the performer of the role of the first officer, 'Got', who tried to adopt the image of Devine (actor from 'Pink Flamingo', who played the main character). But the imitation never went to the end: Pakhomov, in fact, did not do anything cornerstone - did not please Osmolovsky orally, did not really eat feces, as Devine did by the way. For the thrash component of the film in general, Vladimir Epifantsev was most responsible, who filled his mouth with rotten blood, and played in much more amazing scenes, and did much more amazing things, although he did not need it for nothing - he starred solely for the purpose of friendly assistance to the director.
So the scavenger part of the tape is a little overrated. But the main catch is not in thrash as such, but in the plot. Many are trying to find meaning in 'The Green Elephant' which doesn't exist. And, perhaps, he is, but hidden in the halls of the mind of Svetlana Yurievna, and hardly anyone outsider will be able to unravel this truth. Baskova herself said that the film is a protest against the Chechen war, and many seekers of deep meaning rarely touch on that rather distant topic. So it turns out that ' The Green Elephant' is ' an hour and a half metaphor', ' a reference to the revolution', ' a subtle psychological drama about madness', ' a description of the state of the culture of the 90s' and so on. All fan theories reveal nothing in the end. But the vision of the director is boundless confusion. It works exclusively in a heavy and immoral direction, throwing its own metaphors in the shell of the gut, blood and violence, which does not fit with art, but more like an undeserved insult to all artists. This approach testifies to the lack of ability to convey problems by purely ethical means, why this art house will never be put on a par with masterpieces of the direction like ' Persons' or the works of David Lynch, who endowed his cinema with some exorbitant level of mind without dirt. That’s why Baskova’s film receives a share of hatred – it is simply not quoted as an artistic unit.
On the other hand, what can not be taken away from the "Green Elephant" & #39; is its endless, sky-high level of memeticity. For many fans, the film became heartfelt because of the “Sweet Bread” & #39;, the damn stories about the Malafia, about the three sevens, about push-ups, entertainment like mud checkers, killing flies, cones and so on. That’s where the creators are to be credited, where they’ve realized the full potential of a black comedy (if you ever thought about it), built on 90 percent dialogue and live acting by four enthusiasts who worked less than for food. Coupled with a primitive pitch in the form of a constantly-shaking cheap camera, the film makes you believe in yourself at least until the second half, until the banal kinogaps like the disappeared with ' Brothers' pants and captain in out-of-order shoes, grow into a splitter. And then the actors will not pass, striking, for example, a cover of the folk 'Apple'. Many dialogues will be disassembled into quotes, where among the long conversation at the guardhouse there will be a place for less remarkable heroes - the captain with his lectures (' This is a classic!') and the colonel of the late Alexander Maslaev - Eldorado of meaning inside the film with his heartfelt arguments about officers-coprophages, angry appeals to prisoners and, perhaps, the most vital monologue ' Sleep, bitches, and I?' walking along the corridor.'. It is even somewhat disappointing that against the background of a huge amount of humor, other films by Svetlana Baskova are lost. The same ' Five bottles of vodka' with Maslaev in the title role contain much more meaning, but undeservedly remain on the sidelines, thanks to the latrine and forklift ' Elephant'.
There are other consequences to the film, the consequences of recognition. And they should already be classified as dramatic. After all, ' Green elephant' mostly popular with young people, and quite a long time, at the same time not possessing an educational and adequate component of art. Perhaps the creators did not strive to make the movie funny, but the fans did not take it otherwise. On the other hand, perhaps this film is one big banter and in reality has nothing to do with war, culture, or the collapse of the USSR. This theory proves numerous film bluffs, laughter of the operator, errors in the credits, grammatical and with the wrong song of the legendary band Pantera, the emergence of a silent scene and the limitations of filming in basements with caustic walls that do not resemble a guardhouse. The creators could well shoot the work on a joke, but the joke went far enough. In any case, ' Green Elephant' left not the most pleasant mark on the history of post-Soviet cinema. Because it is he who is most popular with the modern generation, which is looking for hidden subtexts and without stopping to laugh at the actions of the characters. But the entire state system of support and development of cinema is to blame. She is not able to make a good film that will be loved by the viewer and forever settled in his memory ... and even in quality will be compared to '. His example is an undeniable case of moral wastefulness of the modern system of Russian cinematography. At least for the last he deserves to wear the title of cult.
I love this movie. I've reviewed it 5 times. I found something new every time I watched this movie. At first, I watched it out of interest, because I accidentally stumbled upon it on the Internet. Towards the end of the film, I got sick and knocked him out. The second time, I watched it to laugh at all the "Gags" there are. But later I began to realize that the point was not in any funny moments, not in cruelty or coprophilia: the point was hopelessness and a sense of total oppression by the state.
The plot is that two guilty servicemen were sent to death. There was nothing to be done about it and they just lived through the last hours. Here you and a security guard with absolutely useless work, and “very smart” boss, and even crazy neighbor-coprofile. That kind of stress would drive anyone crazy in a matter of days. The author (or as is customary now: the author) very competently depicted the time, the 80s, when the situation in the country was heating up.
Many people look for a religious subtext in the film that Pachom is a fool, denouncing the vices of people (in the film vanity, pride, anger), but I believe that the film still describes the situation in the country in those years. Operator work does not greatly affect the impression of the film. A beautiful film
I have heard about this “creation” for a long time. But somehow my eyes did not want to see, put in a long box.
Filmed, as well as the genre of art house - on an amateur camera, with elements of amateur activity. Bet, so to speak, on a sophisticated viewer. Of course, after watching this, I didn’t immediately get the plot and what was happening in my head. To a person from the outside, this will seem like a theater of the absurd and he will want to turn off literally in the first minutes.
I managed to look around. Oh, I don't know what the narrow-profile critics admire. Yes, the topic of power here comes up, a kind of look at friendship. But, sorry, the director is overreacting. Too dirty, too nasty, this look at things came out. Cinema is not a candy to please everyone, the taste and color, as they say, different markers.
For me, this candy was not pleasant at all, leaving a bitter aftertaste.
After watching The Green Elephant, I was deeply shocked. Since childhood, I have heard a lot of talk about this film, mainly from people who are addicted to low, but understandable varieties of humor or from unreasonably sublime personalities - the first film was enjoyed and admired, to the best of their abilities, the second disdainfully and quite specifically condemned the film and everyone associated with it. You can say that at the time of watching the film, I thought that I was well prepared for it, aware of the plot and atmosphere, stuffed with spoilers.
But it wasn't. I watched the film in one breath, not recognizing a single review. I was fascinated by the acting: I had never seen anything like it in Russian cinema before and since. Within a small room, a story of insanity and reason unfolds, their conflict, interaction and, later, fusion. Not a single note of falsehood in the script, in the acting, in the dialogue, did I have the feeling that this was a real situation, recorded entirely by chance, or at least a complete improvisation. For me, this film became the standard of acting.
Philosophically, this is an unusually beautiful, and most importantly accurate, allegory for human life in Russia, unprecedentedly gracefully performed by director Svetlana Yurievna Baskova, actors Vladimir Epifantsev, Sergey Pakhomov and the entire creative team.
You are born here, in our glorious Motherland, which in the film is represented by a guardhouse, guilty of something Epifantsev (original sin). Everything rots, stinks, flows, it's hard to know how to survive here. On the other hand, you think, it’s good that you’re not alone, other people live here too! But over time, there is an understanding that those around you are people with deviations, fools, freaks, simply not able to behave adequately towards you, in a word, grouse. When the situation heats up, the madness of fellow inmates reaches one of the highest points, you try to appeal to someone in power. And here comes the Colonel. Ignoring your remarks about conditions and surroundings, he gives you a fork so that you don’t yell and go clean (to study, serve, serve, work, etc.). That is, "Colonel" personifies the main institutions of our Motherland: school, universities, etc. Well, the character of "Captain" is the highest authority, which considers itself the most intelligent, its behavior implying that everything is according to the rules.
In principle, the finale of the film is the personification of 1917, 1945, velvet revolutions, etc., I believe that the list should be continued in the future. Today’s green elephant has found plastic panels on the walls, fluorescent lights, sometimes even new toilets, maybe more comfortable beds, but... the characters have not changed. We are still Epiphanes, around us are grouse, rule everything "colonels", and stands above everything "captain".
10 out of 10
To understand this film is difficult, to endure almost impossible. It all looks like a rabid mocumentary, although it is unlikely that any of the characters could film it. In general, I am not a squeamish person, but to look at it all was such a pleasure (and mate here has nothing to do with); the communication of the two main characters in the first third of the film is somewhat similar to the manner of communication of a certain proportion of today’s teenagers, and it is both funny and terrible at the same time.
The plot almost all the same goes in one direction: snouting and personal humiliation. Suddenly, the finale falls on your head like a snowball: what is it, how is it, where is it from? The ragged narrative suggests that I wanted to say a lot, but not everything worked out, and there was little time and money - and here it turned out that it turned out. I can’t judge whether what we see in Elephant is true, but a film like this (even if it’s not quite a movie, but a harsh sketch) is certainly a rejection. In the final, the author usually sums up, gives the morality of his work, revealing why everything, in fact, was filmed. What I wanted to show and express with these scenes Svetlana Baskova, I did not really understand.
Also, the film is too loud, like trumpets at the walls of Jericho. The emotions of the characters, of course, are off the scale, but in their incoherent screams there is little that can be understood. Perhaps it was intended - to plunge the viewer into a strong shock. In that case, it didn't work, just really loud. However, despite a rather large number of shoals (the film is so authorial that there is nowhere else to go), there is something in this film. But this "something" needs to be unearthed.
Social relations between people during the formation of the new Russia
The film itself 'Green Elephant' has a much deeper meaning. It says that the government and the people cannot normally interact. Brother is an image of the average Russian, accustomed to decide everything only by force. The traveler is an intelligentsia, this can be judged by his stories (if you do not find fault with the mat and other words). It does not accept violence, it relies only on dialogue and diplomacy. Trying to convey his thoughts and thoughts to the common people in the person of Brother, he receives nothing but violent actions by the people. After all, ordinary people are not given to understand the thoughts and ideas of the intelligentsia, since the people are illiterate and have no idea what dialogue and diplomacy are. I am more than sure that under the stories of the traveler there is a veiled message that all people are brothers on earth and it is not worth going to your brother against your brother, because in the final someone will die. But the law enforcement agencies in the person of the Colonel interfere in the matter, they, humiliating the people, involuntarily push them to revolution, to the fact that everything and everything must be destroyed. Trying to recoup their humiliation, the people in the person of Bratishka are increasingly angry with the literate stratum of the population, as they, if anything, can always refer to legal sources and thus protect themselves and their human dignity. In addition, the people are irritated by the ideas of the intelligentsia, the meaning of which they cannot understand and reject them without understanding what they carry.
A competent intelligentsia is good, but it is even better when you have a competent, but not capable of anything more power in the person of the Captain. By hammering the head of both the intelligentsia and the common people with even more incomprehensible ideas, the government loses the trust of both, since they cannot understand what is required of them, the people cannot withstand the First, he decides to revolution, thus overthrowing the existing system and giving freedom to all. But after some time, the people understand that the new government in the country will not get better, new laws and legal acts will appear. Formally, everything will change only on paper, in fact, everything will remain as under the old government. Realizing their mistake, the people do not withstand remorse and decides to score score with life. The law enforcement agencies, taking advantage of the disorder that has reigned for a while, are trying to find support and help from the intelligentsia, but they are met with a silent refusal, since the intelligentsia, under the people and the authorities, also got order (the scene of the beating of the Colonel Rode in the presence of the Captain). The intelligentsia does not want to meet the power structures and in the end remains alone. The power structures are disbanded (the scene of the Colonel’s suicide). I don’t know what other people in our country think, but I think the same situation is happening today. People turn to officials for help, they promise something, and in the end do nothing.
The movie is absolutely cult. If in some circles, it is normal to constantly gather and review 'The Shawshank Escape' then Green Elephant from the same story.
Only this film I watch over and over again, only the dialogue from this film I know by heart, only this film has given food to so many ma'ams.
It’s the only movie I want to watch again, and every time it makes you laugh and then shocks you. Even when the credits of the film and Maslaev performs against the background of the credits, the film keeps you.
The genius of Svetlana Baskova, the cast: Sergey Pakhomov, Vladimir Epifantsev, Alexander Maslaev (now deceased), Anatoly Osmolovsky and their full dedication to the film created an unfading classic of the new time. What is characteristic of the example of this film shows that the masterpiece can be removed on very limited resources.
Every nation is sent from time to time great people who are able to make another leap forward, in terms of Russian cinema, this breakthrough occurred in a dark basement on an amateur camera.
Epifantsev long denied participation in this project, when he went official roles and glossy fame, but for many he will remain not the main role in Generation P, and Brother. After a year, it starts to get to him.
The fame of the film with the years only grows, this film went to the masses. I sincerely expect when people will be ready to shoot Green Elephant 2, if you just announce an official fundraiser for this on the Internet, I will be among the first to transfer money to film.
Brothers! I brought you some food. We are all human beings. Green elephant
I'm not going to write a review, and you're going to give me the epaulettes back, okay? I even stand on one leg like a heron - a kurlak, a kurlak, a kurlak ...
Just a few words! I can never take the side of a movie (totally) if it can't satisfy me. But I’m not going to criticize the movie, where there were some great moments that you can’t forget.
With this nigger from Baskova, a double situation. Someone throws tomatoes, and someone considers a masterpiece. By the way, moviegoers write about everything (actors, thrash, message, atmosphere, dialogue), but forget one detail, the film was shot by a woman. Woman again! I had this fact for a long time in my head could not fit.
Show two comrades in misfortune. One of them is a brother, the other is a heron. One says it won't clean the toilet with a fork, the other brings it to eat. One listens to stories, the other tells them. And life around us is bad, terrible and unbearably nauseating. We all want happiness, we all want love. Don’t forget that we have meat and blood inside us.
I really liked the first half. I really sat and listened to the dialogue, and then I started laughing. I laughed so hard that I had to cover my teeth with my hand. It was a (roughly) rusty word. Until about the 50th minute, and then, as if the humor was cut, it became very sad. Screaming, sodomy, guts. I watched a lot of thrash, so the degree of interest fell.
Green Elephant is not a film in its pure form, although it has long acquired the status of a cult black woman. If Baskova hadn’t shot anything else, she could have waved her hand, but she has enough pictures. She's really a director. She has her opinion, the review will not be negative. I doubt that anyone will start revisiting the entire Green Elephant, but the first half will be hollow. This is exactly what I did.
As for the actors, I never liked Epifantsev (no sympathy), and Pakhom did not really see him anywhere. But they complement each other. Recommending “Green Elephant” is pretty cool. The film currently has over 150 reviews and over 36,000 reviews. I don't know, it's definitely a success.
This is the classic art house, shot by a woman, namely Svetlana Baskova.
Yes, this is thrash, this is black humor, this is necrophilia, coprophagia, but it is necessary to look at this world without pink glasses, to see all the dirt of this world.
In the story, we are transferred to the guardhouse to two junior officers, a guard and a captain.
The first officer is the Escaped - a native of the village who tells his stories to Brother. Pahom's character is a fighter against the system.
Brother is the second officer to be bothered by these stories, which leads to sad events at the end of the film. Epifantsev represents a simple people.
The guard performed by Maslaev is a power structure.
The captain in the performance of Osmolovsky is the power that does not recognize anyone, even their own.
I don’t think that in the history of Russian cinema there would have been a film so influential on the Internet culture. This is evidenced by its current popularity.
This film is cruel, but it is about the Russian man, about male honor, friendship, about madness, and how a person can not survive in such realities.
This is our life. What she really is. With vulgarity, cruelty and sweet bread.
A long time ago, I signed up for the site just to write a review of The Elephant. Now, after five or six years, I decided to write a new review of this iconic movie. I learned about the movie “Green Elephant” by accident. A friend of mine gave me a review of this movie and the guys... I’ve never laughed so much in my life as when I first heard all these phrases that have already become winged. Then I reviewed the review several times and began slowly, as if gradually entering the sea, to watch “Green Elephant” in the original.
Did Baskova or Mavromatti realize that they made a really brilliant film back in 1999? I think not. And if the Elephant had surfaced at zero, I think society would not have appreciated it. We all had to grow up. And now in 2017, we can state that this film received genuine popular fame akin to the film “Brother 1-2” or “Boomer”.
What is the essence of the film's success? Of course, this is a film about Russia. Not even about the USSR or the war in Chechnya, but about the inhuman barracks of Russia, which hides behind birch birches and dreams of the city of Kitezh. And the whole plot of the film consists in the protest of a Russian man in front of the barracks, before the violence of man against man as the main idea of the state and the main desire of the Russian man to rise to the top of this pyramid of violence.
As always, the characters in the film are not just characters.
Sergey Pakhomov – The first large-scale role of Pakhom as the personification of the Russian people. Pakhom is a pagan peasant peasant peasant who went through collectivization and kolkhozes, and then got to Soviet cities, but never lost the pagan principle. Pakhom is a Russian village with drunks, carols, dances, chaptushkas, sectarian ships of whips, bezpopovtsevs, occupants and others. The groin is a sample of Russian character. Simplicity, cowardice mixed with smearing and contemplation. The whole Pachom film is trying to break out of the state’s tameness at the cost of humiliating itself just to some low ground. He even became a true martyr.
Vladimir Epifantsev is a symbol of the rational beginning in the Russian person. It is a beginning that is so rarely found in Russian people. Epifantsev is even proto-liberal, proto-Western, proto-democratic. And falling into the space of state barracks violence, this beginning gradually deforms until it completely disappears under the heel of totalitarianism. That's what parsley is. The pagan principle (Pachom) can survive this state violence, but the rational one does not. It goes mad and commits self-destruction.
Alexander Maslaev – And this is a portrait of a reworked Russian, rebuilt with the millstones of state violence. It is the product of the communist reforging project which the Bolsheviks so nurtured. Maslaev is a symbiosis of the Russian and the Bolshevist principle introduced into it. It is an absolute slave who squeezes a person into himself, climbing the ladder of violence to the top. And he is willing to endure hardship and be humiliated by a superior just to stand one step higher in the pyramid of violence.
Anatoly Osmolovsky, The Embodiment of Russian Power. It’s not just a high-ranking officer or boss, it’s a person at the top of the pyramid of violence and the state itself. And the attitude of this state towards people is symptomatic. They seek to create fear and fear. Declassify them to the state of weak-willed slaves. Not even screws, but something disgusting and disgusting.
In general, it seems that this totalitarian system itself is like a parasite that sucks the juices out of the people somewhere in the otherworldly infernal space. Even the atmosphere of the basement with poisonous green walls, rotten floor and rusty pipe leaves the impression of something hellish. It's a nightmarish pit where the Eager and Brother lead. And here's what I just realized. They are also trying to forge into the character of Maslaev. They are made as dirty slaves who serve the state like used condoms. Yeah. And their life juice is sent into the bosom of the totalitarian parasite of statehood.
“Green Elephant” guys deservedly enter the top five of the best films of Russian civilization along with “Mirror” and “Khrustalev, the machine”. In general, Baskova did not make “the dirtiest film of the millennium”, but just a film of the millennium. One that generations will remember. Wake up any old Vanya in 30 years and ask him to name the most memorable movie. And he'll say, "Green Elephant."

Let’s make a reservation at once that “Green Elephant” is the greatest movie in the world and no film can achieve such an artistic scale. I am a follower of the doctrine Slonitism , which preaches a view of the world through the prism of the highly artistic film canvas Svetlana Baskova. We, followers of Slonitism, believe that this film recognizes and celebrates universal human values and beliefs (as will be proven later). And this film masterpiece is able to provide an inquiring mind, ready to let into your soul prudence "Brothers" and kindness "Pahoma" answers to any questions that can torment the rushing human soul.
We will begin acquaintance with the actual three embodiments of Baskova's will on the screen - Brothers, Pakhom, Colonel.
Brother is the part called Mind. It embodies the logic, consciousness and wisdom of ancestors. In his words, you will find calls for the right and useful. So, for example, among his remarks there are such as: “Go under the stream of f***, wash!” or “What are you talking about?” Can you shut up? It is quite obvious that the first phrase calls for cleanliness and this is very important, because in ancient times they said: & # 34; “Hygiene is the friend of health”. The second phrase has a deeper meaning and can be interpreted in different ways (it is because of this that the followers of Slonitism in ancient times were divided into two warring camps). Thus, we interpret it as a call to silence during disputes, to silence in which people can see the truth and find common ground.
Pachom is a part called -"Compassion". It embodies compassion, friendship and love. The groin calls for understanding and mercy. Among the sayings of Pahom stand out: "Brother, I brought you food", "In the villages, everything happened." These are some of his most famous phrases, which humanity has long recorded in the annals of history, and which will forever remain the greatest appeal to humanism, to humanity.
Colonel is a part called "hard work". He calls people to work and faith. He says, “I’m a colonel and you’re on a white horse.” Can you hear me? Look at my uniform! Look at her stars! I haven't shown it to anyone yet. I'll just show you.
Now, I hope you've realized that to denounce a film that invokes such virtues is simply foolish. You must take this film into your soul and then you will open unprecedented horizons of knowledge. Take this movie before it's too late! Just truth and reason, fork and sweet bread! (This review is not intended to offend anyone and is only my impression of the film with a certain admixture of humor.)
Definitely, this film is an underrated Russian masterpiece, which became known thanks to memes with Pach, and the film itself is replete with Russian mat - it is so large that any fuck will seem to the viewer as childish harmless phrases.
Acting is just praise - Pakhom, Epifantsev, Maslaev, Osmolovsky / Everyone plays as if they live like this all their lives, especially Pakhom and Epiphantsev, it's just BRAVO, especially from the stories of Pakhom is really funny, so only Pakhom can. And I was amazed to learn that the actors did not get a penny for their roles, but to play for free like this - it's 5 out of 5 and 10 out of 10!
Going to prison is like going to the worst prison. Personally, I don’t know, but the movie shows what it really is. Also, in the film a lot of not only funny, but also nasty, someone will spit, and someone will laugh in the voice, because it hurts this abomination to half the film is made funny, but then it is better not to describe, because in comparison with the second half of this film will rest Lars Von Trier with his shocking films (please forgive me if anyone I offended by comparing Lars Von Trier with Svetlana Baskova).
After this film, you can either go to a psychiatric hospital (but this is not accurate!), or just tell your opinion, but certainly can not remain indifferent after watching this film. Personally, after the film, I wanted to air out, to understand that I am not in deep shit like the main characters. This film for someone a trip to the psychiatric hospital, for someone Soothing, definitely the film gives pleasure, but for the faint of heart it is better to definitely cut it off in the second half.
I wish you a pleasant view!
Most watch Hollywood, a minority watch underground. In a small dungeon there are very few solid paintings that really have their idea, their aesthetics and their chips. The green elephant is a masterpiece in terms of integrity. From beginning to end, it moves along an equally distant trajectory from the usual world. Both characters appear before the viewer open, understandable, but interesting. 'Pachom' - psychotic and therefore constantly interesting. Epiphanes are interesting in their reaction.
The most important thing I love 'The Green Elephant' - for dialogue, this dialogue is beautiful and original! Remarks that find characters are great from every angle. Yes, it's culture! Yes, it's a mighty Russian language. When watching this film, try to feel it from this point of view, because the acting and the text of the dialogue is a real work of art.
We laughed at this movie for a long time. We thought it was very funny. Later, we realized there was a problem in the film. There are more than two things to think about.
Is it normal to watch movies like this? Should the public watch such films? Is it normal that such films exist at all?
Forgive us, but the whole world must be accepted. If this didn’t happen in life, it was just fiction and abstraction, OK. But I've heard news of dismembered bodies more than once. I suspect there is black in nature.
I want to stress that this film is not for everyone. To fully understand it and be imbued with its plot, to understand the sequence of events taking place there, to determine the character and connection between the characters and their images, you need to have a slightly different mindset. It’s not just a movie, you can’t put it next to typical psychological thrillers. This movie is a protest to the system. It defies the standard worldview, but it does not stray far from reality. Before us, the brilliant director Svetlana Baskova, shows the relationship of two antagonistic characters who turned out to be neighbors in the guardhouse against their will. Perceiving their dialogues, listening to their stories from life, the viewer becomes an involuntary accomplice to the events taking place in the film and, without realizing it, takes a certain side. No film has inspired so many different emotions and made me empathize with the characters as much as Green Elephant. If you are ready to challenge an adequate perception of the world, to challenge modern morality and ethics, you can safely cast aside prejudices and watch this masterpiece.

It is hard to imagine a film that has had a greater impact on Russian Internet culture, especially YouTube. A whole genre appeared - I call it "elephant montage", the overlay of phrases of the film's heroes on popular domestic and foreign musical motifs, and the montages sometimes come out so well that those who did not watch the Elephant like it. In the corresponding groups of Vkontakte, fans turn everything into an ivory.
The director of the film is a wonderful Svetlana Baskova, producer Oleg Mavromatti, and the actors put so much subtext into the film that everyone can understand what they want to understand. Phrases spoken by heroes, literally for all occasions. Here household items (fork, plate), and geography (Berdyansk, Shanghai), and even electrical engineering (current 3 phases). This testifies to the high level of knowledge of the film crew, they are certainly very cultural people.
About understanding. There may be a lot of options, thanks to the fact that types are quite common. In this regard, the tragedy of the liquidation of socialism and the collapse of the USSR is quite plausible here. Let's think:
A person with a clearly monarchical inclination. Eh, that was all in the villages! he says (as if about lost Russia). Like any monarchist, he is a hierarchical man, easily obeying the captain, showing exceptional humility in all situations. In itself, he is good, and does not mind doing a good deed, but his concepts are sometimes “reversed” (as, for example, a proton and an antiproton). Therefore, defecations seem to him “sweet bread”, and he considers Russian capitalism a good thing.
Brother is a city man, and oddly enough, initially the most adequate. He's not stupid, he's smart in electrical engineering, he's read poems. And only to him what is happening does not seem normal. He tries to explain to the "Colonel" that the Eager gave him, to put it mildly, no sweet bread. As a result, under the influence of the guardhouse, he goes mad, loses his human appearance (familiar, isn’t it?), and commits suicide.
The captain is a very authoritarian officer who does not tolerate behavior “out of order”. The deformations of an already tough person that occur in society are turned into a monster who openly mocks the “colonel” and the governors. He is not stupid, he knows history very well. But the process is already underway, and there is no way out of this horror.
"Colonel" - thinks of himself as a brave warrior and strives for advancement. However, to increase often have to adjust to the situation. And it adjusts. Curses the captain by the eyes, but one-on-one suffers from him all the humiliation. an important point: Brother told him that the "Goer" behaves inadequately. But he doesn't pay any attention. Maybe he understands that what is happening is scary and disgusting, but he needs nichtyaks from superiors, so he does not care.
And it is remarkable, by the way, that it was the one who survived in the end, one can say, the most abnormal of the heroes. He was alone and there was only him and his sweet bread. But suddenly he realizes that it is impossible to live like this! And finally realizing this, he asks: "-Where to crawl, where to go?"
Z. Sadly, most people refuse to accept the Green Elephant and refuse to see anything but sweet bread.

I never thought that such films would scour the Internet with huge ratings. Stupid, useless, meaningless creation makes everyone degenerate who watches at least the beginning of this pseudo-film. And some moments and generally forced to turn away from the screen and think all sorts of bad things.
I could not pass by this, as many say, a masterpiece of cinema and douse it with dirt from toe to head.
I watched the film through the force, I really wanted to turn off and forget this nonsense.
Perhaps someone will ask: Why did I even start watching Green Elephant? The answer is simple: I wondered why teenagers and young people squeaked so much when they remembered at least the title of this film. What is so interesting and unusual about it?
Even "Human centipede" is not as nasty as it is.
Few will remember those dark times when a new design appeared on the website KinoPoisk. Along with the films of Sarik Andreasyan and Alexander Nevsky, this was the most terrible event in the history of Russian cinema, and we must not forget the cost of the victory. The wounds of a new design will never heal. Those who stood for the protection of the old design, remember it with tears in their eyes and with gray hair on their temples.
October 8, 2015 launched a new version of KinoPoisk. The treacherous blow was unexpected, but the public response was lightning fast. Everyone is fighting for their favorite website! And the symbol of that struggle was the Green Elephant. Contrary to common sense, the most monstrous film in the history of the solar system was erected in the TOP 250 Best! There were fierce battles that took away a lot of nerve cells. Bomber along the entire front - from Kaliningrad to the Kuril Islands. Man is only a drop, but united, we are an ocean, before the waves of which nothing can resist!
On October 12, 2015 at 1:14 Moscow time, the site management capitulated. The old design is back.
As the Marseillaise for the French Revolution, as the shot of the cruiser Aurora for the Great Socialist Revolution, as the Soviet flag over the Reichstag, the Green Elephant still remains a symbol of victory over the capitalist monster that tried to destroy what is more precious to us than life. This is our victory! Yay, comrades! Yes!
Many people perceive this movie as a goofy, as the primary source of all videos in the genre of RYTP. This movie needs to be viewed from a different angle. It has many allegories for modern society. You can even say that the film is more about our time than about the early 2000s. Allegory everywhere. The groin is a typical layman. Epifantsev is an adequate and rational person, who is driven to madness by society, people who are in power. A lot about modern society: The life of a typical layman (Pahoma) is so gray and nondescript that he is used to it. He's humbled, he's a slave. The main thing is not to knock. The colonel is not capable of criticizing the Captain, but he is capable of criticizing inferiors. He looks like Pahoma. The captain is the essence of evil in this film.
In conclusion, I want to say that the film can be called excellent and it deserves eight. If you want to watch it for fun, please. If you want to find a hidden meaning, this will not disappoint you.

Foohhhhh!!! Words are gone and emotions remain. It is difficult to digest everything you see, even difficult to write something on this picture. Thoughts are not at all heaped together, and a sloppy dance is dancing in my head. Undeniably disgusting at heart, even disgusting. After all, it is impossible to come to any logical analysis, looking for a true, deep meaning, to compare metaphors, symbolism, especially where it simply may not be (the analogy with a black cat in a dark room, suggests itself).
In fact, I will not give my interpretation of the picture, given that similar to my opinion, many reviewers have already voiced and find the truth here, akin to finding a needle in a haystack at two in the morning. The most incredible version was voiced by my friend, in a conversation with me about... Elephant": Pakhom (agent nickname "Goed"), being a participant in the operational development, was specially introduced into one chamber of the guardhouse together with the suspected "Brother" (suspected of committing a serious or special grave crime) to obtain any information of operational interest. And most surprisingly, the way to extract information is left to the discretion of the agent. The madness begins...
Of course, the version itself is closely intertwined with the absurd, but on the basis of the other versions reread above, it is quite the place to be. What is the beauty of art house cinema? In that every viewer will see something in it: his idea and meaning. And the truth? She's always around.
After reading such films as Eraser Head (1977) and Begotten (1991), I decided to watch this film because this kind of movie allows you to experience interesting sensations.
I think video sequences like this are not full-fledged films because there is no storyline and no narrative logic. But the essence of the film "Green Elephant", as well as most films shot in the genre of thrash - a strong retribution to the consciousness of the beholder by depicting frankly unpleasant scenes in which there is a mockery of the personality, madness, extremely strong expressions of the emotions of the characters. Despite the fact that the genre of this movie is horror, thriller, it was funny to me in the course of the tape, because I felt not serious about what was happening. However, the scene of sexual abuse of one man over the corpse of another, unpleasant. But in general, cinema is comedic. This can be seen from many other viewers. I don't understand commentators who find this movie's hidden meaning. So, you can designate any d-i shot on camera as having a hidden meaning. But it's not serious. I remember the viewer left a review under the film in the genre of art house, in which he wrote that the image on camera of a man sitting on a chair in an empty room with a fly flying around him for 1.5 hours, can also be called a film with a deep meaning, where the flying fly is a society trying to influence a person. Same thing with the elephant. I do not exclude the possibility that people who write extensive reviews that reveal the hidden meaning of “Green Elephant” simply train in the ability to compose text, having a minimum of material for analysis.
Some wrote on the Internet that this film has such an effect on the psyche that a person changes after watching it. Exaggerated, but about such a strong influence on the psyche I can not agree. Of course, the influence is stronger than the average drama, but there is no such destructive effect as in Begotten, where the monotony of the action and sounds is simply put into a state of stress over time. I repeat, in the tape S. Baskova feels humorous subtext. But this did not prevent the film from entering the list of the 25 most dangerous for the psyche. I admired the acting. All really laid out and corresponded to the depicted types. I read in the movie that pig blood was used. Well, that sounds like Satanism. Therefore, the review is negative. I can’t recommend this to you.
Well, that's why all the most disgusting film products are filmed here: "Kukaracha 3D", "Manticora", "Green Elephant". Disgusting, garbage, I can’t even call it a movie. Because it's not a movie. This is a sick twisted fantasy of the director, the result of mixing several drugs with alcohol, the lack of any self-respect, but not a film.
So, two soldiers, Epifantsev and Pakhomov, find themselves in the guardhouse, and it begins, the whole film consists of only conversations consisting of solid mat, swearing about all sorts of perversions, coprophilia, excrement, etc. And I wonder, what normal person would like that? What an adequate person would be interested in listening to talk about how Pahoma was almost "put down" or how "g***" tasted. In this wretchedness there is not a single normal conversation, not a single interesting line, one mate from Epifantsev’s mouth and only perversions from Pakhomov’s mouth.
And many people consider this film almost a masterpiece. And all because, the Director said that not just a film, and a protest against the introduction of Russian troops in Chechnya. That's how it's connected, can someone explain it to me? What does the film about two perverts being tortured have to do with the Chechen war? It’s like if you film the defecation on the eternal flame and say that this is a protest against the invasion of Ukraine, you feel that there is no logic. There is no logic in this film and its “protest” against the invasion of Chechnya.
This film reminds me of one of the episodes of South Park – “The Story of Scotty McBugherbolz”, where the main characters decided to write “the most disgusting and indecent book in the world” which consisted of curses, everyone reads from it vomited, and in the end all the characters reading this book began to call it a masterpiece full of meaning, where the author expresses his attitude to politics and society, although the main characters tried to convince everyone that they did not put anything into this book, but simply wrote a disgusting story. Here's also "Green Elephant", the director just removed the fruit of his sick fantasy, disgusting in every sense, and so that she was not considered such, she said that this is a film with meaning and many people, just not wanting to believe that before them, coprophile porn began to see the meaning in it. Just as people see the “secret meaning” in the 2003 film Room, they don’t want to admit that this film is just a collection of incoherent verbiage. And in general, if desired, the secret meaning can be seen in the photo of a homeless person desiring.
I’m not saying the idea of the movie is bad. You could shoot a story about two officers sitting in the same cell and really discussing something important, but what Baskova did is not a film, not an art house, not a thrash, it is just a dirty stain on the entire history of cinema.
It doesn’t deserve any credit.
P.S. And after Pakhomov's phrase, "I'm as fat as a dumpling," I can no longer look at dumplings.
As I have noticed, people are divided into two camps – some spit and call the film a complete parash, while others claim that this is an elite art house with deep ideas. I think both of these positions are wrong (even assuming that slonophiles are trolling). And here's why.
It’s not a bad movie because it’s a folk comedy. By people, I mean our generation, which fell at the time of the spread of Internet technologies in Russia. As you know, the Elephant received recognition on anonymous boards, and later, along with the Internet culture as a whole, became public through social networks. But what is remarkable is that he stood the test of mundaneness and remained one of the few memes that remained not much tainted by the intellectual majority. At the same time, as I said, this is a good comedy with charismatic and talented actors. The film is actually a wonderful improvisation. And it’s funny every time, although I know almost by heart all the great stories of Pachom.
There is a certain dynamic in the film. If something is more or less meaningful at the beginning, then madness begins at the end. In general, the last third of the film seemed to me unsuccessful, and there are almost no funny moments there.
On the other hand, there is no deep meaning here and can not be. This, in general, is an amateur work, which is based solely on the talent of carbon monoxide actors. Baskova herself, as shown by “For Marx”, is not a special talent and removes complete nonsense when trying to create something more decent. I have encountered amazing interpretations of this film and its individual elements, references almost to Kant and Schopenhauer, even evangelical overtones. This, in my opinion, is not so, and the film is absolutely empty in terms of semantic content, it is pure improvisation on the topic of sitting in a solitary confinement cell.
By the way, I watched the Elephant relatively late, and I was persuaded by a friend (in exchange he had to watch the feature film “Vyb$@%ka”). I enjoyed watching it because it was funny. I didn’t see something particularly disgusting either, there are pictures with much more shocking and disgusting content. But you can’t expect anything great from this craft either. However, the cultural significance of the Elephant is huge, and it is an integral part of the bygone era of the two thousandth (like the brothers and the prefix Dandy - nineties).
I tried to watch this movie 6 times. I was able to do it 7 times, it didn’t work out before, because I wanted to understand at least some meaning, and it’s simple, it doesn’t exist. Just a life situation, happens to someone more often, with someone less often. The one who went (Sergeya Pakhomov) pisses off a new friend on the camera, and calling him 'brother' (Vladimir Epifantsev), his stupid conversations, well, you will agree, with everyone there was such a thing when someone bothered you very much. Only here it is shown in bad conditions, in 4 walls, where some urine drips, pour them and all.
Periodically in the film shows "Colonel" (Alexander Maslaev), or rather he wants to become them, forcing his brother, clean the dirty toilet with a fork, typical army stupidity, do what you want and how you want. And of course, the captain (Anatoly Osmolovsky) is a typical Russian officer, knows the history of various battles, it is not clear why he tells it.
From this situation, the brother goes crazy, with anyone really this can happen.
If you just want to beat, then watch the first half of the film, the rest you do not need, and the meaning I described in my review.
