Cozy provincial life I know very well that the film is not outstanding. A short anecdote from provincial Moldovan life.
Brutal mother with imaginary (well, okay – perhaps real) diseases of old age. A docile and loving son who works as an accountant in a wine trust. There is no prospect of getting married, because mother is caring and merciless in her care.
And suddenly it turns out that - being on vacation in Yalta 3 years ago - Vasil Vasilich Cheban allegedly met a charming girl Nadia, the acquaintance turned into love - and now Nadia's friend informs in Rabkom that Vasil Vasilich, having a child, is immorally hiding from him and does not participate in education.
Of course, this is a mistake; but Vasil Vasilich, as an internally decent and well-bred person, sends Nadia 30 rubles. Nadia sends back a photo of the baby. The exchange of money, toys and photos continues. Sooner or later, the underground life of Vasil Vasilyich becomes known to his mother - and she invites Nadia and her alleged grandson to come. Of course, it turns out – by chance, from the photos on the wall – that Vasil Vasilich is not a father at all, but mother has already become accustomed to the role of the loving grandmother of Vasilka’s grandson – and the finale is visible without options.
I don't think so. And the film itself was shot quite provincially, on the "Moldova Film". And yet I've watched it three times - certainly not on purpose, by accident - but every time to the end.
Nice, cozy provincial life. If you need to get somewhere, then go to the track - you will be given a ride, people are all kind. Vasil Vasilich’s colleague, a young woman, has views on him, but in the end builds a relationship with the driver – both are very cute people. A young secretary in a mini skirt with bare legs - reading the mail and being aware of all events; the chief accountant is a funny old man; even the head of the winery, mired in left-wing deals and offering Vasil Vasilich a bribe for a good audit result - all recognizable, alive, pretty people - just living on earth - without any existentialism, ideology, philosophy. The people of the earth who make up its essence.
In short, a simple, cute film about cozy provincial life. Of course, the choice of Albert Filozov for the role of Vasil Vasilyich is not accidental - such an albino, a "white crow"; but not so white - against the background of others. A little bit, maybe.
Looking for a movie and watching it is probably not worth it. But if you want to distract yourself from all this urban bustle, and the horrors of the Moscow life are tired - look at the Soviet province: it is far from the troubled city, lives on its own, without claims. Myth? Maybe. But very plausible and recognizable for those who lived in those years in the USSR.
I'll put 7: the usual GPA for a good movie.
