The final part of the story looks beautiful. Graphics, shooting, effects - money and people did not regret it to look confident. But behind the beautiful picture was the plot even weaker than in the first part (and there was something to see and track the plot). In fact, two hours can be watched simply without sound - and you will not lose or miss anything.
The first part of the film is spent incomprehensibly on what - on household, on clarifying relationships, leaving the second part of the film for action. The problem is that the viewer doesn’t care about the heroes. Relationships are not prescribed (except for some family), heroes are not prescribed normally. The main character is absolutely unpleasant Divergent, special, exceptional. She yells at everyone, demands, is ready to break all laws and humiliate even friends who risked their lives for her. Against the background of her pity and Hariton, and Google, who climb out of their skin to please her. The relationship with Hariton was more less shown in the first part of the film and all, after that there was a kind of cold between them.
In the story there is a moment when everyone turns against the heroine. And it's also a dramatic moment for ordinary people who are scared, shocked and disoriented, but it's also a creepy hole in the plot. We are not shown that people double-check information, try not to rush things. Yes, it was a reference to distrust of the media, probably, but so that 99% of people just turned on the heroine? We have had many cases where journalists accidentally called ordinary people murderers or terrorists, showed photos of people who were not guilty. But ordinary people quickly found a refutation, rallying themselves to return the honest name of another person and stop the bullying. In Parts 1 and 2, all the people except the main characters are just the masses who don’t think. At once, for some reason, everyone forgot about aliens and even none of the modern young people thought (against the background of the same computer games and TV series) that this could be a game with the mind.
But the idea of a shifting layer of water is beautiful. Not unique though. It really makes you feel uncomfortable and dangerous because the heroes can’t hide either underground or above the ground. Except the ending is murky and faded. Removed those characters that interfered, for some reason a good character-military marred and in fact now instead of returning to the family he is waiting for life. How the whole city did not sink is generally a question (it would disappear if there were no real-time military conversations).
In my opinion, it is worth finishing your view on Attraction. The invasion is a completely unnecessary and uninteresting part, which in fact will not even finish the arch of the heroes.
We have always been proud of our Russian actors, but...
Film as a film, such films are stamped by dozens of Hollywood, with a larger budget with a smaller, child-oriented or older audience, and they are all between 5 and 7 points, which means not a thrash but not a masterpiece.
The plot itself is not bad, the picture is also quite decent, the acting is limp and palpable, some tortured dramatic grimaces, when you want to scream every second of the film ' I do not believe!'. I don’t know why this doesn’t happen when watching American TV shows with girls wizards from Winx, played by 30-year-old aunts, or evil superheroes from the TV series & #39; Boys & #39; but they seem more believable than a brick-faced SWAT who pretends that he doesn’t trust anyone anymore, or the main character looks like a tired woman who no one notices, no object in any way falls in love with every passing, well, or strong, independent. . .
With such actors, it is simply impossible to shoot a single close-up, no dialogue, no characteristic scene, they can only wrinkle into the camera like dried raisins, unravel their emotions and the deep inner world of the task for the investigator.
And you can come up with an even cooler scenario, even cooler effects, but those gutta-percha heads of mannequins instead of actors will ruin everything. I sympathize with the director who, for reasons inexplicable to me, has to work with them, well, if ours are really so bad that only drunken hysterics can reliably play, then it may be possible to invite foreigners, at least not the most eminent, let them then raise Russian cinema from their knees, and let gutta-percha heads go to the factory, or hold weddings, someone should do this.
I remember watching 'Attraction' arguing with friends, trying to somehow justify the plot holes. I watched various reviews on You Tube, where the film was scolded rather than praised... and tried to understand how subjective opinions of individual comrades are objective.
And here comes the continuation... Note that I am not writing the long-awaited. Because the film was very mid-range, and it reached that level mainly through special effects. Well, it came out and out... let’s watch. . .
And it seems that the topic is not bad, interesting, and most importantly relevant (some forces use modern technologies: television, telephones, the Internet, cars - against people, sowing panic and chaos).
And the work of the operator looks decent (beautiful views of tourist Moscow ... here you and the Kremlin in all its glory, and the shining golden domes of the Church of Christ the Savior, and the Moscow River and skyscrapers Moscow City).
And special effects at a pretty high level. At least not inferior to the original. The flooding of the city was not bad either. It doesn’t matter where all that water goes. . .
As you can imagine, it almost always happens. . . 'NO' And this is ' But' - the plot. It doesn’t matter what the film’s description says... ' an ordinary girl from Moscow Chertanov - Julia Lebedeva - is forced to accept the role of a guinea pig in the laboratory, because she was the only one in contact with the alien' For I took what I saw in a slightly different way. . .
The same, ordinary girl Julia, a representative of a kind of golden youth who does not need anything. Julia the whole movie goes with the face of resentment. She is offended by everything and everyone, because she lacks simple human (or female) happiness.
And then there’s her father, a general of the Russian army, who uses the resources of the Russian army for the sake of his daughter... even if others must die for her or destroy the floor of Moscow.
At the same time, the play of Oleg Menshikov, who performed just the father of the heroine, does not raise questions. Just like Garmash's game. Old school, that's right. But all the young people mostly annoyed me... whether the characters were so bad, not interesting, or they played so bad. Perhaps it can only be noted that the hero Petrov is the only adequate character who said the right things.
And as I wrote at the beginning, 'Attraction' - I wanted to defend, justify. The sequel is laziness. Although the film is watchable (due to special effects and the work of the operator), but not interesting (in terms of the plot), intoxicating (from the word infuriates, annoys - in terms of the characters) and does not catch a drop at all.
PS is a movie from the category - watched and forgot.

There is an ancient myth about people who lived to our time. Once upon a time, there lived on the planet a civilization that preceded ours. They were watched from heaven by the Supreme God, whose All-Seeing Eye was watching over everyone. Everything went on as usual until one of the gods came down to Earth, a fallen angel from heaven. And he fell in love with an earthly girl, and transmitted to mankind the Knowledge - Fire gave Prometheus. And then the Supreme God decided to wipe humanity off the face of the Earth, because he believed that the technology that the Fallen Angel gave to the girl, too strong and dangerous for people. In an attempt to make a total Reset, he used his Military Base – one of two satellites orbiting the Earth – to trigger a giant wave. This event was later described in the Bible as the Great Flood. And then humanity, armed with a new super-powerful weapon, struck at the satellite, knocking it out of orbit. The fallen angel stayed with his beloved, humanity was saved.
You ask, what nonsense? What's all this about? Take your time. If you pay attention, in many science fiction films you will notice ancient occult symbols – a pyramid with an eye, just an eye, etc. In order not to be unfounded, I will give you a few examples: in the film “Chronicles of Predatory Cities”, the main character wears an eye-shaped pendant; in the film “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, Mysterio has a buckle to which a cloak is attached, made in the form of an eye inside an inverted pyramid; in the TV series “Star Trek: Discovery” there is a whole race of robots controlled by AI ba’uls, which spaceships (with which they controlled the local frightened population of the Kelpian) in the form of a pyramid in the form of a cybernet in the movie “Opersed by an alien eye”. There are hundreds of such examples. Most people do not pay attention to these nuances.
So that's what this is all about. In fact, this symbol of the All-Seeing Eye goes even deeper, back to ancient Egypt. This is the Eye of Horus, which symbolizes the moon. That is, the Moon is the “All-Seeing Eye”, the base of aliens, from where they are watching us all? The Internet is full of information about anomalies associated with the moon. For example, people from their telescopes observe strange bands that are like ripples on the surface (this phenomenon is natural). Some believe that the Moon is generally a hologram, behind which a spaceship of aliens hides, others believe that the Moon is hollow inside, and by itself is an ideal spaceship (with natural protection from asteroids) and at the same time a base for observing the planet. The shape of the moon is not correct and it always faces us with only one side. Well, the fact that the moon since the first landing for more than 50 years has not set foot man, speaks for itself: apparently humanity hinted that “you are not welcome here.”
So, in the movie “Invasion” the role of the moon is performed by a spaceship that remotely resembles a giant webcam (yes, the All-Seeing Eye). The Fallen Angel is Haakon (the main character is an alien). His beloved, and perhaps all of humanity, symbolizes Julia Lebedev. What do you call the AI in the movie that controls our giant webcam in the sky? RA! For those in the tank, Ra is the supreme god in Egyptian mythology. Then more. There is also a conflict over forbidden technologies transferred to people, there is a giant tsunami (the Flood). Still don't believe it? It's your business.
Control of alien AI Earth technologies – possibly a skew under Skynet from the “Terminator”. In general, I found something in common with Terminator: Genesis, such as the scene of a helicopter flying dangerously past a bridge (during a thunderstorm). By the way, in “Terminator: Genesis” AI Genesis as well as Skynet intercepted control over weapons and gadgets of earthlings.
In contrast to the disastrous (in my opinion) first part, the film “Invasion” turned out to be about the level of “Terminator: Genesis”. Maybe a little worse. In general, it is easy to see (once, of course). The special effects on the head are higher than in Attraction. The film is quite spectacular and designed for screening in theaters, and at home it is better to watch at a loud sound.
Summing up the above, Bondarchuk decided to enter the club of creators of a large and expensive cinema, stuffed with conspiracy and ancient occult meanings. And for the mass consumer, this is just another film with shooting at aliens.

Invasion: Russian disaster on the verge of fiction
3 years have passed since ' Attraction'. The writers and directors were given enough time to work on the mistakes. Rethinking what was done earlier, and taking certain actions, it was possible to remove ' fantastic' in every sense, the continuation. But it turned out what happened.
The plot of the film is banal: for 2 years Julia Lebedev mourns for her alien Khariton, and life is not nice to her. Yuli’s father, Colonel Lebedev, is promoted to a general who, against the background of the latest alien landing, developed a “paranoia of the immediate abduction of his daughter.” Who should kidnap his daughter and why - only he knows. Therefore, the valiant general puts a guard to her daughter, who follows her on his heels, which irritates her terribly. The last nail in the lid of Julia’s already weakened nervous system is hammered by scientists, putting various experiments on her. In the previous part, the heroine received from Chariton a superpower - water management. Therefore, it is necessary to unravel its secret, naturally within the framework of the country’s defense capability.
This is how the weekdays of the main character go: in the morning - uni, in the afternoon - experiments, in the evening - to get drunk to unconsciousness, surrounded by a bunch of bodyguards. But something went wrong. And one evening, on the doorstep of the bar, Chariton appears out of nowhere - alive and healthy - steals Julia from bodyguards and takes her to the forest, minute by minute telling them to fly to him in space. Together. They do not succeed and the plot twists. . .
Of course, the filmmakers made some positive conclusions from their previous work. The idea to shoot a disaster film is not new: there were 'Metro'Megerdichev, and 'Crew' Lebedev. But the best realization of the disaster film on Russian film spacers was 'Invasion'. It has everything: a creeping alien ship from cracking asphalt (as in ' War of the Worlds'); falling skyscrapers of the metropolis (as in New York on September 11); flooded Moscow; thousands of people drowning and screaming for help; shooting the crash site from a helicopter. Even the President of Russia is addressed 'Mr. President' (as in 'Independence Day'). Surprisingly, the screenwriters also swung at the notorious ' pathetic American humanism' (they say, it is important to save every life). As the saying goes, ' it never happened again'
The level of special effects has increased significantly: the moment of the helicopter group’s missiles hit the ship with the main character and the alien Chariton is probably one of the best in the picture. And dynamic scenes with the movement of ex-boyfriend Yuli Artem in an alien miracle costume is a curtsey towards fans of games on PC and consoles.
The question also arises, why are all the most spectacular scenes filmed either in the center of Moscow or in Moscow City? Are the producers disappointed with the beauty of Chertanovo? The question is more rhetorical.
' Invasion' its plot painfully resembles Hollywood 'On the hook' and 'Gift' And there, and there for the main characters of the whole film chased special forces and secret agents, and the equipment managed ' local Skynet'. The main characters, hiding from them, a little destroyed the city.
What unites 'Invasion', 'Lucy' and '5th Element'? Of course, the main character and her mission. She is a superhuman, whose main mission is to save people, but on different scales. As they say, ' who the whole world is not enough, and who and Moscow abound'.
Another strange thing about this film is that there are no drowned people like a class. Enough ' original' for a water disaster film. Is it a fight for the PG-13 rating or a failure of the producers? Not clear.
We need censorship. Not without censorship. The floor of the film is swept under this slogan. Whether this is a harmless idea of the writers, or the popularization of the law on the sovereign Internet, is not clear. The only thing that can be safely stated is the dependence of the rating of the picture even on the hint of censorship. Young audiences (and this film is for them) are not thrilled to be forced to do so in such an aggressive manner. The dialogue of the characters also leaves much to be desired. That’s why the movie’s rating is so low.
Cinema is a journey, a fiction, a exploration of the unknown.
"Invasion."
In my opinion, the main problem of this film is that there is no sane narrative, sane plot, and most importantly, there is no hero with whom the viewer could associate himself. You watch everything from the sidelines and you do not immerse yourself in the film completely.
When you watch, for example, “Iron Man”, you immediately think: “And how great would it be to put on this suit yourself, fly up, fight villains, return to the ground, get in an elite car and go with the breeze into the sunset!”
And there is not even close to such an effect. Unfortunately, there is a solid “rejection”, not fiction.
Questions about the film and more.
1. Why not? Why can't we make normal fiction? Why all these eternal salvations of New York, sorry, Chertanovo?
Why can’t you choose a neutral theme like in “Mission to Mars”, “Interstellar”, “Beginning”, “Edge of the Future”, is everything so bad with imagination?
If the film is in the genre of fiction, then do the fiction, not the passing gum. Why is it imitation, superpowers, supersuits?
Cinema is a journey, and fiction is an exploration of the unknown. Think about it for a moment.
2. The main character is a hysteria, a natural hysteria, with an always dissatisfied face. The problem of her character is clear, but what's the point? Every appearance was waiting for her, sooner she left the frame and did not appear again.
3. The alien is a seemingly intelligent creature, immortal, and talks like a coffee machine. Why not? How is that?
4. Water and gravity? I'm talking about the final. Tens of thousands of tons of water. Seriously. Where did they go?
5. Special effects - here yes, quality is on top.
But it's already happened, with the best story.
At least remember the day after tomorrow. Here is the movie - no "coffee machines", the same ordinary people who do ordinary things, live an ordinary life, but they are worried, because they really face danger, they overcome, they explore and all this without pathos.
6. Again, this stereotype that at the table you always need to "pull" the moonshine? It's terrible.
Bottom line.
“Attraction” was a good movie, and I was really looking forward to the sequel, because there was hope that “Invasion” would have a better plot, work on mistakes. Unfortunately not.
I am writing a positive review because I believe that Russian cinema has reached a certain milestone, passed a certain level, as in a computer game, and it is time to take new heights. In addition, such films are necessary if you want to spend a long day together and start it with a trip to the movies. In this case, the film should not be much ' load ', two hours should fly quickly and the picture should please the eye. All these qualities 'Invasion' possesses.
The problem ' Invasions' is that it seems that in this film everything was focused on the image. It turned out well, quite lookable. Apparently, we can, if we want, shoot a good disaster, and this is what I meant when I wrote in the previous paragraph that we have passed a certain level. Unfortunately, because of this, the scenario completely sagged. It seems that it was written on the principle ' you need to write something, because there will be a second film'. The heroes did not receive any new development, we do not learn anything new about them, except that Julia went to Moscow State University, and Khariton planted a garden. Everything else is the same. In this sense, the first movie looked more interesting, because then we saw all the characters for the first time. Here, even the dialogues are all artificial, it seems that not very necessary to anyone, but since without dialogue such a film will look strange, here, they were written.
I can’t even say that actors play well because they don’t have to play, they have to be. Well, except maybe Petrov, who had to be reincarnated in a crippled.
It's kind of crumpled up. It seems that there are good melodies, but there is some strange feeling of ill-conceived location in the film.
Anyway, I'm waiting for the third part with some work on the flaws. According to logic, until the aliens’ home planet is blown away, you can release any number of films, the good storyline allows. In the third part, I hope, there will be shots of Khariton’s homeland, normal dialogues and, of course, Moscow cadres.
It is very good that examples of cinema begin to appear in domestic fiction, which would be absolutely not ashamed to look at and tell people around.
In the genre of fiction, as a certain attraction, you do not need to look for too deep meaning. Here, literally for the seed, they threw a grain about the possible future of artificial intelligence, from which a soulless monster grows, dooming thousands of people to die in accordance with the mathematical calculation performed. The main thing is that the storytelling does not slow down the momentum for a minute and does not become boring, which is not uncommon with films where there were not enough ideas for the script. The danger of modern technologies, analogue of which is deepfake, is also very well shown. But still it is a fantasy, a fairy tale, at the same time quite qualitatively and beautifully made, easily immersing into its atmosphere. Good viewing! ; )
The actions of alien AI are very similar to this famous phrase in Latin (Carthago delenda est), so AI works. Curiously different theme and psychology in such films as the Chinese “Hero” (Ying xiong, 2002) and the Russian “Invasion” (2019). Chinese received an excellent score of 7.9, Russian - average, not very 5.6.
The central idea of the Hero is unconditional obedience to the letter of the law, without deviations, absolutely does not care about everything, for any circumstances - very Chinese (and how many stupid and cruel laws there were - wow...). The main character spent so much effort, there were such battles, such a bunch of special effects, and the teacher gave him a difficult to translate idiom, which the main character realized when it was too late to rush, as they say. He died in the name of a common idea and the complete odious triumph of the law. The story is tragic, colorful, interesting. But in fact, incredibly stupid, just a joint on a joint. The teacher shook, the Hero himself shook, the Emperor shook. And that’s fine, that’s how it should be, right? Is it really true?
The central idea of the Invasion is the violation of the Protocol in the name of humanity (in fact, the highest law on another planet), although the event that wants to prevent is still probabilistic, i.e. there is no threat to the world from Yulia Lebedeva, and perhaps there will not be, the alien AI decides to destroy it “on any fireman” and does not hesitate in its methods. They are trying to save it, but we are human beings, not robots, making fateful decisions based on probabilistic events. Yes, the actors played well after all, including Petrov, who is almost hated by many (well, maybe it is his fault if he is called everywhere:) At the same time, the plot is very interesting, there are no drawn-out special effects, absolutely useless in the end of the fights (as in the Hero), the plot is integral, exciting attention, tense, impressive, I believe, with a good sense.
Our audience (partially) did not appreciate such zeal. For our part of the public, the unconditional triumph of a stupid law is much more important than breaking it in the name of some stupid, superfluous and useless feelings. I’m not the only one who thinks something is wrong here.
Yes, a very good message in the 1st and 2nd film. I think I’m also underrated for this, because the message to me is very clear – about crowd management and their coordinators. A lot of people understood that, too. Although I clearly understand that I will take a lot of disadvantages, but I remain with my opinion. "I said everything" (c) "Mandalorian."
In the end, the Invasion is estimated at 10, and the previous part, since this is the beginning, at 9.
I think many will agree that the continuations of certain paintings are almost always much worse than the original. At the same time, with almost every new film, you become more and more convinced of this. Quite an obvious addition to these sequels and can be considered this film directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk.
The events of this tape develop almost half a year after the events of the original tape. The fall of an alien object in Chertanovo divided the lives of Moscow residents once and for all. Among them is an ordinary girl Yulia Lebedeva, who turned into a guinea pig in the laboratory. Since she was the only one in contact with the alien and received from him some unique abilities. Soon over the planet again there is a threat of invasion. Alien intelligence arrives on the planet to destroy Julia.
Contrary to negative expectations, it is worth admitting that the script of this tape has both a number of obvious advantages and a number of some shortcomings, which in the end cause a rather ambiguous impression when viewing. On the one hand, the authors of this tape are willing to reflect on the obsession of modern society with virtual life and high technologies. On the other hand, the authors of this tape could not say anything completely new. The main plot layer of this tape is largely repeated behind the original tape and brings to the story only cosmetic changes. As such, the intrusion specified in the title of this tape is actually not there and for the second time promising a Russian response ' Independence Day', the authors of this tape again slip the Russian answer 'Twilight'. Moreover, the romantic line in the first tape was much more interesting, and in this tape is based on the second, or even third plan. Trying to dilute it with extremely unfunny and frankly unnecessary humor. Not to mention the slightly meaningless ending, which does not lead the viewer to either the changed characters or any result. Except for another unobtrusive hint of a possible sequel.
If the script of this tape looks more or less tolerant, then it is very difficult to see the positive qualities in the direction of Fyodor Bondarchuk . Obviously, instead of working on the mistakes, the directorship of Bondarchuk on the contrary degraded greatly. If the first film tried to sit simultaneously on the chairs of fantastic drama and melodrama, then this film is perceived by a certain genre freak who tries to be everything at once, but without success. The number of action scenes has grown significantly and their scale too, but at the same time the visual effects have become noticeably worse and more cartoonish. Not to mention the fact that the first film was pleased with a stylish clip shooting and well-chosen soundtracks, which is not in this tape and in mention.
The performer of the main role Irina Starshenbaum played very, very badly. The situation is worsened by how scanty the character she got in this tape. After all, if in the first tape her heroine at least somehow changed from hatred to love the alien, then in this tape does not change in principle. Including Rinal Mukhametov and Oleg Menshikov. It would seem pleasantly surprised Alexander Petrov, who suddenly and in some century appeared in an absolutely atypical role for himself. However, he absolutely did not suit him, and with all the attempts of Petrov, he did not personally convince me. Not least because of how poorly written his character is in the script. Not only not squeezing the maximum out of his transformation into a certain antihero, but also completely merging the character with an extremely stupid redemption of his character in the finale of this tape.
4 out of 10
The invasion is another example of a continuation, which is in many ways inferior to the original work. The first film raised a very relevant and interesting morality voiced in 'District No9' and also at least curiously dealt with the genre of fantastic drama, which is extremely foreign to Russian cinema. In this case, the script is openly repeated for its predecessors, visual effects have become more, but they have become extremely worse, and the directorship of Fyodor Bondarchuk openly regressed. Turning this film into an extremely passable spectacle, which is frankly sorry to spend two hours of your time.
So I got to the movie. And all because of the fact that he began on vacation to master modern “Russian fiction”, which, in fact, became a real discovery for me. I did not want to watch the invasion, as it is directed by Bondarchuk, producer Bondarchuk. Until the last was afraid to watch the cast - because it could easily appear Bondarchuk with his sweet same type of play, but this, fortunately, did not happen. I wouldn't have done it otherwise. I write my opinion after watching both parts of the film. The second is better than the first.
To begin with, let’s walk through the actors – Rinal Mukhametov has taken root here well. As an actor, he's very weak. The local theater level. For example, in Coma, he just didn't, but here, with his alien game, he came. It is clear that the actor is not of this world. I'm going to write a stupid thing now, but in my opinion he is a copycat (substitute) of Khabensky. Garmash, apparently, was invited only because of some friendly relations with Bondarchuk. His mission was to “star” the film. In fact, he does not fit his role at all. He's a man, but he played the best. You can see the acting experience. It's, you know, how the role of "Eat Filled" can become a key part of the whole play. Menshikov is very controversial. In my opinion, the director should still look for an actor for this role.
Computer graphics are good. Well done Russian computer scientists. We see a high level. It's okay, and the apocalypse and the alien costume. Perfect and there's nothing to complain about. The script is also very well written. How much I spit after Coma, and here everything is at the level.
Overall, I can say that the film turned out to be good, and only thanks to such films I will continue to watch Russian Fiction.
I don’t know why, but Bondarchuk was expecting more from the movie. I knew the rating before watching it, but I didn’t draw conclusions because I sometimes like movies with low ratings.
I will highlight the main points that I emphasized during the review.
The water dome idea. It looks big, but I didn't like it. It's an idea of scale, but not really. There may not have been a better overall disaster plan.
Vodka. And where in a Russian movie without vodka at the table? I understand tradition, but I don't know. You could have done it without her. Some kind of cliché that you put in movies. Personally, it bothers me that Russians are associated with vodka. . .
A genre of fiction. I was waiting in the movie for alien beings, maybe something in space, but no, it's nothing. Even the main alien looks like a person, there is nothing alien in him, except the manner of talking and a slightly tin expression on his face.
The chase at the beginning of the movie. The most dynamic and interesting moment in the film. Car chase is always interesting, and here it is implemented well.
According to the plot: the beginning liked, the middle is drawn out, I thought I was asleep. the ending - to be honest, tired of it, also drawn out in my opinion. Perhaps not so long as not too diverse. . .
Special effects. Hollywood is a long way off, but not too bad. Average.
In general, if we consider the film as an attempt of domestic cinema to make a blockbuster in the genre of fiction, then the Invasion is not the worst option. But I wanted better. Just like the viewer.
Another masterpiece of Russian cinema plunged me into such a profound amazement that it took me several hours to comprehend this film. Of course, I knew that the movie rating is not very, but such a large-scale flushing of money down the toilet was not expected. Briefly about the film - beautiful special effects, the plot is not attached.
So, 2 years have passed since the fall of the space ball on one of the Moscow districts. Over Julia put terrible, inhuman experiments: forced to swim in a shallow pool and answer uncomfortable questions. Some kind of power grows in it, they tell us deeply. What power and where did it come from? Why is it destructive? What does this mean for us and for the universe? Think about it, you're lazy. Apart from the fact that Yuli’s power is somehow connected with water (yes, this girl is a utilities dream), we do not know anything. Then everything goes as it should: the alien returns, Yulia begins to sprinkle very original, touching phrases coming from the heart (' I buried you', ' Why you didn't come sooner'), everything is fine, clichéd, that's what we expect from a film with such a budget. These are not spoilers, everything is in the official trailer. And if it was expected, then there is a thrash.
The film has so many disadvantages that you can list them for a very long time. Plus one: those who drew the picture, get their money for good reason. There are many special effects, sometimes too many, but they are of high quality. Sometimes the picture is very beautiful, where there is Hollywood. This is where the pride of the film ends.
Now the minuses. Where's the story? It looks like the script was written three days before filming began. Don’t expect sudden plot twists, unexpected endings or anything unpredictable. Everything is as banal as possible, no one whistles, does not whisper & #39; wow, this is daaaa', you can sleep peacefully throughout the middle of the film, you will understand everything. After all, it's not Nolan. I would even say more: the plot is so boring that it becomes in principle unclear why I am watching this. That's the downside. Special effects are one of the components of the film, the main thing should be the plot. Here, special effects are the only component. Sometimes it seems that some events unfold just to stick more graphics into the film.
Characters. No, the alien had no sense of humor. He talks like a voice assistant GPS, strangely tastes the water (what was it???) and in general, any development in comparison with the previous film has not received. Julia does not get out of puberty, stupid actions pour one after another, she runs for her happiness over the heads of all other people: I don’t give a shit about you, ah, I’m tired, leave me alone, the guy died, the ex wanted to kill, daddy does not leave unattended, now the dog... In short, life is a pain. At the same time, our heroine is simple as turnips, primitive as infusoria, she has no problems of moral choice, she does not think about what will happen to her father, Dad, I flew towards love until, do not get bored. The fate of Artem (who wanted to kill Yulia in the first film) is predetermined from the moment he appeared. Where do you go, Artemka, to an alien with a space accent? The new character, Vanya, is just a balding miracle. I want to hug him, pin him down and calm him down, nothing, lived 30 years without brains, you will live more.
The absurdity that's happening. Just think for a moment. I wish I could spoil it. I'd pour my soul out. We will not understand what is there with this power (I did not understand, perhaps you will be more lucky). Very nice defenses for Earthlings against space attacks, was this an attempt to show our helplessness in the face of space? Why can Vanya shoot an innocent man without remorse and not kill anyone he sees fit? Why didn’t the super-AI that came to threaten us find an easier way to get rid of Yuli? He's against human sacrifice, what the hell is he doing? After a couple of attempts, the space thing waved an iron pen, fuck you, Muscovites. One of her protocols is beginning to break the other, well, come on, who's there, the aliens, will understand. Where does that come from at the end of the movie? Where did it come from? Has anyone left it to us or has it already been built?
Morality indistinct. The description for the film says that people should show humanity, etc. I don't know, I don't know, 2-3 people showed humanity here, the cosmic intelligence convinced that it was right. The problem of modern technology, the collection of personal data and their use against us? It's not convincing.
The soundtrack is another disappointment. At the beginning of the film you will hear one song, all the steel music accompaniment - the same type of tense melodies. It seems like there were some sounds, but after a while you begin to doubt it.
Ending. Is that us crying or laughing? As always, the privileged people will be fine, this is Russia. It does not matter how ordinary residents of Moscow experienced this, let us not spoil the statistics. We have too many people here, a small flood without the possibility of getting into the ark will not hurt us. You see, the housing issue will become easier...
Over. To wash away so much money to make a movie that is embarrassing to watch. We are constantly trying to prove that we can paint not only in Paint, but nobody cares about it. Russian cinema has risen to the level of Hollywood gum, where there is a lot of graphics that no longer surprises anyone, and a ringing void instead of plot, message, idea, morality. Look and forget. Better yet, don't waste time. Even in quarantine.
The ruthless agit machine forced me to watch the Invasion, and in order to observe the chronological sequence and Attraction, which I did not like for the lack of logic and motivation in the plot, not the elaboration of issues related to the cosmic universe and our communication with it. I did not expect anything special from the second part, but it pleasantly surprised me.
Gone from the logic of the scenary. In the Invasion, Fyodor Sergeevich made a competent trick with his ears and instead of prescribing meaningful and logical dialogues between the characters, the attention of the audience is focused on special effects, graphics and mass scenes with continuous movement. And the relationships between the characters are revealed in the significant monologues that they utter to each other. Thus, when viewing you captures the picture and replicas of characters you almost do not need. Movements, facial expressions and gestures become important against the background of a beautifully unfolding picture.
Army. Also, instead of the main characters, the valiant army of the Russian Federation and our military equipment come to the fore. Viewers are forced to feel that every citizen is safe and soldiers will come at any time to protect us.
The life of one person. In the film, I was upset by the thought that the life of one person, who for some reason is considered special or has high-ranking relatives, each time will be pulled out of various vicissitudes or unpleasant events, the life and health of other people, considered in this case expendable material. Why should others suffer for some insignificant feature of one person?
New technologies. The picture perfectly reveals the problem and significance of new technologies, how they can change people’s minds, as well as how fake news from an unknown person can make an enemy of the people and make a huge part of people categorically hate him, without even thinking about whether this is true or false.
Humor. A huge number of jokes were added to the picture, especially from Hacon, i.e. already Hariton, who became completely human, proving this with the phrase that “I have a house, a job, a vegetable garden.”
Acting game. In the process of writing a review for “Attraction” this year (2020), the acting of Irina Starschenbaum has already changed significantly, which has grown up, become prettier and become deeper, which was reflected in her character Julia. The role of both Alexander Petrov and Rinal Mukhametov became more significant and tragic - in the last film they looked and played like two teenagers.
PRODUCTION. I already watched the film in April 2020, when the coronavirus is now actively spreading. And a lot of phrases that were said by the heroes during the disaster fully describe the situation. There is a slight feeling that Bondarchuk willy-nilly
As a result, the film can be called the work on the mistakes of Fyodor Bondarchuk.
Another high-quality post-Soviet blockbuster Russia
I definitely liked this movie as a viewer. While watching, I turned off the criticism, and just watched it as a viewer, because in this film and the plot is fascinating, and the picture is very high-quality, and special effects are worked out and presented very well.
But first of all, I liked the patriotic line of the film, because the modern Russian Armed Forces are wonderfully represented here. We have something to show and something to be proud of. To put it bluntly, we are tired of watching standard American blockbusters, in which they, for example, save their precious president, then the whole world, and we, as spectators, should sympathize with them.
Personally, as an ordinary viewer, I prefer to sympathize and empathize with my country and my Armed Forces, primarily the Aerospace Forces. Modern Russian combat aircraft, especially the TU-160 in this film is shown magnificently.
Secondly, I really liked that the film is well represented and the market component - product placement this very same. Well presented and advertised 'Rostelecom'. That's great! So, this company participated in the film 'Invasion' and financially. This is a good example for many other companies that will be able to take part in new Russian blockbusters.
And they're bound to show up. I'll wait!
Invasion! Or try to prove that love rules the world?
“Invasion” is a Russian science fiction film directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk, the continuation of the film “Attraction”. The collections of the film amounted to 993,000,000 rubles and exceeded its budget (944,000,000 rubles). The drama conveys acute contemporary problems (love, hatred, evil, forgiveness) and reveals the unknown. Russia, showing modern equipment of the Russian armed forces, including the car Aurus Senat, which was created in the framework of the project “Cortege” (project of a representative class car for the first persons of the state). If you think it’s hard to get you to believe that there’s an artificial intelligence ship, you’re wrong! After watching the movie "Invasion", you will believe in the truth and realism of "Ra". Fantastic, touching and soulful picture will not leave anyone indifferent. Wide rental of the tape in Russia began on January 1, 2020.
After the fall of a foreign ship in the south of Moscow, in Chertanovo, three years pass. An ordinary student named Yulia Lebedeva undergoes various experiments in secret laboratories of the Ministry of Defense after contact with extraterrestrial technologies. As a result of the observation, Julia shows unusual abilities that attract the attention of not only ordinary people, but also pose a threat to humanity. Note, if you have not watched the movie “Attraction”, you may have questions while watching the “second part” of the film.
Putting myself in the place of the main character, I am convinced again and again that Julia Lebedeva is a strong personality. Not everyone could withstand this. It carries with it faith in the best, because love should not lead to death, its purpose is to fill life with meaning. Actress Irina Starshenbaum (Yulia Lebedeva) very clearly conveyed the experiences of the main character, and as Konstantin Stanislavsky would say: 'I believe!'
Some scenes were particularly strong in this film. For example, the scene of the last conversation between Artem and Julia. The girl showed herself to be a kind and open person, able to forgive and compassion. Forgiveness creates love and makes people better. Artem, in turn, proved that good conquers evil, albeit at such a price. . .
The end of the film is very ambiguous, it is this director’s move that allows each viewer to decide the fate of the main characters in his own way, without intrusive opinions. Looking forward to ' the third ' part of the legendary bestseller, I think you too!
I would recommend watching this movie. It teaches us to love and forgive, to fight and to be strong. Complex computer graphics, which has not yet been found anywhere, absolutely fantastic special effects make it possible to completely immerse yourself in reality on the other side of the screen. We are talking about a large amount of water in the picture, which, it would seem, is beyond the control not only of computer geniuses, but also of artists. Huge gray streams of water make you believe in the reality of what is happening. The viewer unwittingly becomes an eyewitness to the destruction of the city. This makes a huge impression.
It is necessary to note the transmission of feelings and emotions in the picture, as well as the play of actors. Rinal Mukhametov (Hakon) did a great job in the film, but the greatest sympathy, in my opinion, was awarded to Alexander Petrov (Artem). It would seem to be a negative hero, but why did he feel sorry for him? And perhaps he was with Julia, despite his “disfigurement” (concussion, speech defects, long and unkempt hair). Is it the actor we love so much, or his sincerity on screen? It's your call. But I can say for sure that you cannot remain indifferent. In any case, this picture proves that love rules the world.
"Who are you?" This is our land! I don't want you to call me. Go ahead.
Another disgrace from the national cinema! The film is very disgusting and stupid, although even morals are brought here - people of creatures! That's the message we've been told in two 2-hour movies. If it was a naive treshak for pennies, it might not catch your eye, but the budget of the film is about 650 million rubles, and the fees exceeded $ 30 million! Movie ' Attraction' I also consider not watchable, to put it mildly, but there was at least something, and here there is even nothing to cling to. Vile characters, action for 5 minutes, no more, the plot does not differ from other films about aliens in almost nothing (it is the plot, I am not about execution, morality and implementation). And yes, remember this product placement of the first film, where we were shown chips in the frame for a minute, here Fedya did work on the mistakes - they show close-up water, thank you, Fedya, now I know what water to buy in the store! Thank you very much!
Plot:
It's been 3 years since the end of gravity. Yulia began to experiment, because she has the ability to control water. Well, remember those abilities that we were not told about in the last part, only the corner of the eye showed a scene of 20 seconds. Why do you call the movie "Invasion" 39? Not even a single alien was sent to the planet, and no new ones were shown. It turns out there is some kind of artificial intelligence Ra, who feels threatened by the heroine's heads and wants to kill him. Well, in fact, everything, no twists and interesting turns, the characters just run from place to place, even special effects almost no!
Characters:
Julia was a bastard, and remained. He constantly hurts his father, makes things worse and frankly infuriates me with his actions at the end of the film (I think it dawned on me why Ra wants to kill her). This alien keeps saying the same joke, making the movie as dumb as possible, at least saying that water is sacred. Who said that the character of Alexander Petrov here will surprise us? Here sadly follows the heroes, occasionally stuttering and saying something pathetic with them. Google is the only normal character, but it’s still a smart one. It was only in the second film that we learned his name. Lebedev has not changed anything, constantly shouting loudly in the frame and making a surprised face.
Visual:
You had 650 million rubles, where did you put them? The first movie had 20 minutes of visual effects, but what do we have here? Five minutes at the very end, where just water and a couple of planes. If I was shown a movie with popcorn, where you just need to watch and chew, then I have to listen to boring dialogues for 2 hours, in which there is not a drop of freshness!
Atmosphere:
If aliens are attacked, there must be some danger and great loss of life. And here the characters are constantly trying to cheer up, a couple of people died behind the scenes, if at all died. The atmosphere is a children's comedy with one joke, which I heard from a child who barely speaks, then in a weeping drama, they say all my close skates are thrown away.
Soundtrack:
Is it hard to even put in a normal song? The whole film inserts a couple of similar gloomy-wretched melodies, nothing new at all.
A special feature:
There's nothing like that in the movie! For a Russian film, you can count with a stretch of special effects, although 5 minutes to show water over the city in a film for 650 million hardly call a breakthrough for us.
Bottom line: Fedor Bondarchuk is a good actor, but almost talentless as a director. In the film, you can feel some moments of good morality, but the way everything is presented and implemented just pushes away the fact that I may like the film. Of course, I still can’t believe the movie’s success! Did the box office manage to take the film from us, and the same amount abroad? Terrible ratings on Movie Search and IMDb should somehow alienate the viewer, did the majority bite again? I stopped going to Russian movies (except for the relatively good studio comedies 'Yellow, Black and White'). It’s not the worst movie, but weak and mediocre for sure!
4.5 out of 10
In the middle of filming, the script was stolen. .
I am not a professional critic, I am an ordinary viewer who waited for a powerful explosion of youthful emotions, waiting for a classic pop of the highest quality with expensive and beautiful graphics, with plague ideas about the threat of a global cataclysm in the form of tricks of lost aliens, waiting for a beautiful fairy tale with a happy ending. Popsu with graphics, ideas and a fairy tale seems to have received, but he did not notice any emotions, events, meaning, or logic.
In any case, I will not criticize any actor, in my opinion, ALL worked out everything they could: a real modern girl Starshenbaum, and the real father and leader of the whole Menshikov Land, and unpredictable, abandoned and heroically sick Petrov, and the ideal robot Werther Mukhametov, and promising antihero Borisov. If they all had a script to write, it would have been a world-class blockbuster.
But the script, apparently, just forgot to write - it is difficult to steal from everyone at once. Excellent images are created, the actors are well-chosen, the graphics are drawn, special effects are screwed, but it turned out that without the script nothing will work: Malovichko and Zolotarev spit on this case, and Fede now fuck. .
Invasion is the second film about how the aliens are trying to capture Moscow. It is impossible to say that the original was completely bad, especially for the domestic project, but the script and the main character caused big questions. Nevertheless, the hope of the work carried out on the mistakes in the continuation remained.
Julia tries to live on after the events described in Attraction. But she doesn’t do that very well, as the military is starting to do a lot of research on her. The fact is that she acquired incomprehensible abilities, somehow related to water. And here, quite suddenly, after the end of a difficult day, her old friend appears in front of her, dragging her into a new stage of confrontation between aliens and people.
Let's start with the merits of the painting. First of all, the importance of digital technologies has been demonstrated. And with it the absurd confidence of the population. It was very interesting to see how an overwhelming number of people began to blame the main character for all the troubles. Secondly, the film has impressive special effects. I can’t say that they are on the level of Hollywood blockbusters, but they are definitely the best (or almost everything) that came out of Russian directors.
That's just the shortcomings here are very serious: still slurred heroine, very annoying with his behavior, crumpled scenario, where the development of events is not particularly interesting to watch. In addition, now there are questions to Artem (character Alexander Petrov): he is on the side of some, then suddenly runs to the opposite camp, then again returns to the first. There is no reason, but there is no reason.
In general, you can see 'Invasion'. I don't think you'll like it very much. However, we learned how to make a beautiful visual. It remains only to add well-written dialogues, a good script and adequate heroes.

I would say that my expectations were met: this film is a pile of garbage. But the trash is much more eye-catching than the previous part of the dilogy (trilogy?). Some controversial points were taken into account; I want to note that the special effects and the picture in general look better, ' Invasion' with a stretch you can join the average Hollywood fantastic action films. But the plot...
Let's talk about the good. Tweaked GG, her relationship with her father became as normal as possible, of course. The girl Julia no longer considers her father to be a poop floating in the toilet, but speaks normally and warmly. For all his past mistakes, she loves him and understands him. And this is not ' character arc' from the last part, there Yulia was such a nasty girl that caused the desire to suppress her. Here GG allows you to empathize with yourself. Alexander Petrov (suddenly), who was present in the frame for a short time, but did much more useful than GlavHero Haakon, who is now called Khariton and who has a garden. But there's a plus for the alien. Yuli and Haakon's relationship is very nice, it's like she was waiting for a guy from the army. There is also some humor in their communication.
But there is no good without evil. A story that isn’t here takes first place. The conflict is unclear, why it should be solved so radically, why Yulia became Neo / i - nothing is explained. The thin-poorly spelled conflict 'Attraction' was destroyed by filthy characters and low-grade acting. The correct relationship of the characters and the good play of the actors (and the same) float in the space of complete absurdity of what is happening - this is a fat minus, & #39; killed & #39; picture. The character of Yuri Borisov with his fake drama looked absolutely superfluous and stupid. Stupid military man, disobeying orders, come on, what's that for? His storyline did not lead to anything and was, as I said, unnecessary. Hakon-Hariton is, of course, perfectly sweet, but his role was to be more than just riding in a water ball on the Moscow River. In their final scene with the hero Petrov, I sympathized with the hero Petrov. And the tense scene in which you worry about the father of GG (Menshikov), further reduced to nothing. Well, why did you have to do this? Terrible scenario, terrible!
Uncle Fedor, Ros1 and Co. continue their experiments with bicycles. One thing works out well, the other is corrected, but the first one deteriorates. When will Bondarchuk learn to isolate the successful and connect together so that we can admire his work? Let's get some popcorn, friends.
...but I must have gone too far and not followed my own advice from the end of this writing. Okay. If we compare the film with Attraction, then a good work has been done on the mistakes: a little less unrelated plot twists (it is still impossible to understand Artem’s behavior in Attraction), spectacular scenes have become even more ambitious. A step forward has been taken.
If without comparison, about a more general impression, then the film is beautiful and quite dynamic. Lots of beautiful shots, the graphics look good. It seems that Kamchatka was filmed in Kamchatka, not as our cinema usually does: if there is money, then abroad, if not, then in the pavilion, but almost never at home. But that's all I think is clear.
It's interesting to see the plot. In Attraction, we were aggressively screwed into the brain with the idea that social networks are evil, because of them only riots, riots, society itself can only self-destruct, and a good honest state protects and preserves us, everything for our good and in general look with what difficulty we have to work on the faces of the butts of brave silovik. All these meetings under the bridge, “this is our land”, graffiti with logos against the aliens looked so ridiculous and detached from reality that caused only Spanish shame. But in theory, we, the audience should recognize ourselves in the film, not just because Chertanovo was chosen. Due to the complete detachment from the reality of people’s behavior, the film was perceived as an ordinary state order in order to teach people obedience against the background of election protests. In Invasion, we see a very different story: we are shown how bad things can be when the global information network is controlled by one person. As far as everyone is on the hook and at any moment, this “one” can destroy the life of any person or destroy the work of the entire society. Very unexpected in light of the fact that this is the kind of system that the servants of the people are making us. Perhaps we wanted to show in the movie that “this is your Internet” can be taken over by someone from the outside and what will happen then, but sorry, this accent went unnoticed.
In terms of the behavior of the main characters - everything is mostly normal, but here is how illogical and sucked out of the finger was the madness of Artem in Attraction, just as ridiculous was Ivan's behavior in the Invasion. In the beginning, this is a standard movie image of a soldier, a hero-performer: strong stately, everything according to the rules, etc. Then he starts to kind of doubt - okay, that's okay, that's character development. But what the hell does he believe in the news that the Internet shows him and a call from his wife, when it became known that the digital space has been seized and there is a “dispersal” of the idea that Yulia is enemy number 1? This Ivan spends a lot of time near Lebedev, hears a lot, newspapers and leaflets are already being printed, that news from the Internet has been replaced, that phone calls are also fake. No, all this is happening past this character. It seems that they tried to somehow denounce everything in his actions with logic, but it did not work out from the word at all.
In general, if you do not look for something to dig into, then the film is quite worth attention: it is very beautiful and looks very cool. Even the product placement is not infuriating: it is more like some kind of "We are Millers" with their "Are you about the Apple store across the street?" and "Do you have an iPhone?" than Beckmambet stickers and logos on all surfaces and in all dialogues. Do not treat it as a documentary or a film about life (" oh, where did they see such a laboratory, "Yes, actually ...") - no. It is necessary not to fool around and treat like some Tranfsormers: a beautiful movie, you can watch to spend time with pleasure.
The perfect spectator picture designed for box office success
This is a gorgeous film for the New Year from Fyodor Bondarchuk. This is a very dynamic and colorful film about aliens. Special effects at the European level. I really liked the work of the operator Opelyanets. Very well he caught the facial expressions of the main characters. Yulia Lebedeva (played by Irina Starshenbaum) after contact with an alien became a test subject. And now the military is atomizing her feelings, her emotions. This film is not just meaningless action, but it carries a philosophical load. Eternal human themes—love, loyalty, mercy—are beautifully played out amid an alien invasion. The threat of invasion is chic and the music is very intense. I really liked the movie. I compare it to Outpost (2019) and Transformers 3: The Dark Side of the Moon (2011). The alien battle is also beautifully played out and the ability to control digital technology is also polished.
The film has no flaws at all. This is a film about which you can say: "The perfect spectator picture designed for box office success." This is a real Russian ideal for the audience's attention. The film is not just an ordinary shooter, but has a Russian philosophical sense of self-sacrifice. Philosophical load of the film is very beautifully played. “For this, thank you to the writers Malovichko and Zolotarev,” and I want to say a special thank you to Fedor Bondarchuk. The film has no flaws: it is the ideal of Russian cinema.
I really liked the role of military Ivan (played by Yuri Borisov). He plays great confidence, execution, doubt. All the actors are great. Trust them all. All the actors fit perfectly into the plot.
This is a great gift for the New Year from the team of Fyodor Bondarchuk. This is a real Russian 4K quality for multiplex. This film is made for the IMAX cinema, it is so gorgeous.

I probably missed some new laws on film distribution, because all the New Year holidays and post-holidays in the movies show only Russian films. Nothing more. And that's terrible, because that's the only reason that led me to Invasion.
- Plot holes and gaps. Beginning with all the characters behaving extremely illogically and contrary to the norms of conventional logic and morality, the plot itself seems to be drunk to the point that it does not know where to go. It all begins with the fact that people are developing a plan so that alien creatures can not get to them unnoticed. Undetectable. In the first part in the center of the capital of Russia fell a huge unknown alien thing that turned several areas of the city. I think she certainly wasn't invisible. So why did this issue form the basis of the film? How did this happen, and why is most of the film not about it? No answers.
Constant advertising, which has even ceased to hide and somehow hide: taxis, phones, water, Komsomolskaya Pravda, even Rostelecom! I have not seen such intrusive advertising in films for a long time, so it was frankly striking and more annoying than it performed its immediate function.
Spitting towards Russian scientists. I can't call it anything else, but it is. When in the framework of a fantastic film, representatives of Russian science are engaged in tuning the bluetooth headphone – it is disgusting. Even in fiction, they are frankly laughed at and their significance is reduced to almost zero.
- Actually, the characters themselves. Oh, there are no difficulties: as it was in the first part, and in the second: the main character has a large-scale hormonal failure, so for a short 2 hours of the film her sausage from the contests of an insensitive bitch to a cute and meek young lady 500 times, which the audience is already used to when watching the first part.
The love of Russian directors and Bondarchuk in particular: slowo. Run to slowo. The battle scenes are slowo. Sex - stretch it for 10 minutes at the expense of the same slowo. It is, of course, beautiful, there are no words, but the film becomes more like a vidlo than a fantasy.
The only plus for me was, oddly enough, Alexander Petrov. In general, I always treated him with a healthy dose of skepticism, but then he directly showed himself. His character is the only one that makes the audience experience emotions: hatred, anger, pity, contempt - while he does not turn into a hormonal failure - just reveals from different sides, for which a huge thank you to the actor.

Released almost three years ago, the film “Attraction” caused a very interesting reaction in society, where it is quite understandable to treat the film with interest and skepticism, accustomed to the fact that we mostly come out with something low-quality or with a stupid plot. Therefore, the fact that Fyodor Bondarchuk created a fantastic film in which xenophobia is the central theme, and action acts only as an ornament, was already out of the ordinary, and the fact that it came out as a masterpiece – all the more so! I still have not raised my hand to write a review on it, because I really do not know how to describe those impressions. Although the final scene of "Attraction" was suitable as a seed for the second part, the meaning of its creation still for someone could be questioned. And now you even think: what else can I say after this?
And yet, we found that, and we got a sequel. Despite a decent number of local negative reviews (and with some I even partially agree), the rating of the sequel still surpasses the original (given the level of population of our country, ten percent of one star is also a lot). I literally just got back from the theater and I will say that the sequel is quite suited!
As for the comparisons with the first part, it is debatable whether this is appropriate at all, since the sequel is mostly devoted to a different topic and, unlike the first film, is 70% full of dynamic action, with chases, several battle scenes and much more digital special effects. If the first film was about xenophobia, then here we are talking about the dangers of the digital space, which many people still naively consider only a symptom of social panic and continue to quietly post their data on social networks. Here, the digital world becomes the weapon of the central antagonist, and this should make you think.
Now about the acting and how the characters have changed:
Julia Lebedev, performed by the now star Irina Starshenbaum, has become more adult and conscious, which is quite understandable, given the experiences that had to be experienced in the first part and between them. However, in some places it still acts strangely or completely stupid, which is a little embarrassing.
Hakon/Hariton, an alien man played by the “retired D’Artagnan” Rinal Mukhametov, has changed markedly since the events of the first film: although his manner of communication still sounds like extraterrestrial origins, he now looks more adapted and “earthly” in terms of both ideals and behavior. It’s clear that it was influenced by his romance with Julia, as well as his personal desire, but his motivation throughout the film makes him a bit selfish in terms of his world.
Artem Tkachev, Yuli’s ex-boyfriend, played by Alexander Petrov, here changes his role to an antihero: emotionally and physically traumatized by the events of the first film, he still joins the team of heroes, despite the remaining hostility to the opponent. In the film, his fate and motives almost completely whitewash him in the eyes of those who hated him in the course of watching the first part.
Yuli’s father, General Valentin Lebedev, performed by the magnificent Oleg Menshikov (by the way, my favorite incarnation of Erast Fandorin) is shown here as a more soulful character: the events of the first film and the gap between them brought him closer to his daughter and made them a real family, which was not particularly observed in the first film. As in the first part, he remains a capable and excellent leader, quickly controlling the behind-the-scenes situation and helping the trio of heroes in all possible ways, despite the growing public panic.
Google, a classmate and close friend of Yuli played by Evgeny Mikheev, the film is slightly less than in the first part, but still remains a colorful and important character, whose actions I will not voice here due to spoilering.
The new character, military Ivan played by Yuri Borisov, in the course of the action begins to look a little like Artem in the first part, although the motive is not xenophobia. Therefore, he seemed to me some strange and even ridiculous antihero, whose motive, although in many ways understandable, but still defies common sense.
Although the above-described new character and the change of atmosphere force me to remove two points, I still recommend this film to everyone and believe that directors such as Fyodor Bondarchuk, and actors such as the composition of this dilogy – the future of Russian cinema!

I am sure that this review will be thrown with minuses, but to express my opinion about the new film by Fyodor Bondarchuk “Invasion”. This film is a continuation of the film “Attraction, and that film had quite a lot of both pros and cons, but still collected the box office and here is the sequel in front of us.” And immediately I say "Invasion" on the head, or even two heads higher. All special effects are at a high level and it is very difficult to understand where the computer graphics were shot live. The actors in general play well, especially liked the progress in the acting of Irina Starshenbaum and Alexander Petrov, who no longer outplay, and, of course, Menshikov, Mukhametov, Garmash and Borisov are good. The plot is quite simple, but strangely enough there is something innovative, for example, the first attempt at an alien attack. I also want to note the unusual exposition at the beginning of the film, which tells about the events of the film “Attraction”. The motives of the heroes are quite clear, even among the aliens. And for fans of Badcomedian, I report that Bondarchuk's gun fired. There's also the dialogue. They became less pompous, although the event is larger than in the previous film, and the humor has become better and sometimes subtler. I also want to mention hidden meanings, such as what makes a person human, how dependent we are on technology, the importance of choice and so on.
Well, before the end, oddly enough, sometimes a drama with characters works, and with whom, you will learn after watching the film. As a result, I want to first say to the creators for their efforts and correction of errors. Compared to American films, the film is a bit mediocre, but it surpasses Independence Day. Of course, there are still shoals and plot holes, but in fact, all our loved ones have flaws. In general, in the film, I personally found more pros than cons and in the end I think the film is normal, by 7.3/10, but not by 1/10. At first, I wanted to put the film exactly 7/10, but given that this is a Russian film, the situation with underestimations for KinoPoisk, the efforts of the authors and for correcting errors I will put the maximum estimate in advance.

Another masterpiece from Fedor, at the end of the viewing, left only a smile on my face and the desire to express my thoughts about what I saw at the KinoPoisk in the form of a negative review. I would like to start with the fact that the script of “Invasion” is a fantasy of inflamed convolutions specified in the section “scenario”, two comrades named Oleg and Andrei and no less inflamed brain Bondarchuk as the director of all this. For me, it was an amazing scene at the beginning of the film in the Gulf of Finland, if I am not mistaken. We are shown fishermen on the ship, who taunt their colleague, along the way fishing and at this moment an alien ship falls into the water. Okay, stage over. What was it for? I mean with these fishermen. Why the Finns, why the irony of the fisherman? If in the cartoon “Steel Giant” an alien creature fell into the sea next to a fishing schooner, then in this scene there was meaning, we were shown the greatness and mystery of the mysterious giant that a man encounters in the middle of the sea, then in the film “Invasion” I did not understand what it was.
But most importantly, you know, looking at this picture, I understood only one thing for myself, that in all this brainless story, the only adequate character was exactly the hero of Petrov, named Artem, who one way or another is shown in the paintings as a negative person. Yes, he is a bully, but his motives are clear and logical from the start. He loves Julia from the first part, when she is still his girlfriend and accepts him as he is and his friends, and therefore she corresponds to his environment, after which her motives begin to destroy everything, leading to conflict. Artyom, if you remember to the last clings to her, does not even speak for her father at a rally and helps the police by settling down the rebels, until he eventually receives from the first with a baton. So in the second part, with all the hardships that fell on him, he again risks himself for the sake of Julia and offers adequate solutions in the course of the plot, but everything goes against him for some reason.
I was also greatly surprised by the character Ivan, who appears before us in the first half of the film as a soldier devoted to his cause, homeland and General Lebedev, but later radically changes his motivation, just in his roots and already appears before us as an opposition-minded soldier. Who better than him to know firsthand that an alien mind has seized the entire Russian information communication and is able to falsify even video materials. But no, he blindly believes the phone call of his wife and not convinced of anything, I repeat, for some brief time in the root changes his worldview and beliefs.
No less delusional for me was the scene of our armed forces attacking the so-called alien enemy, which throughout the film, as far as I could see, was behind the protective barrier, in stealth mode. Where the earthlings got the exact coordinates, I missed. But in addition to all this, I was damn surprised by the scene of the issuance of this order. On what basis is it asked? On the nose of a possible alien war, which may threaten not the death of Chertanovo, but possibly the death of humanity and without any information contact and diplomacy, a decision is made to attack. And the funny thing is that this reason in the film is that an alien mind has subjugated all cellular and Internet communications, not posing a direct threat to humanity, but falsifying data about only one person, while our alien friend Haritosha himself says “one life against millions” is the protocol of protection. But no, our General Lieutenant Lebedev in the film Bondarchuk appears as a bishop, that probably the image of the President pales against his background, because it seems that on the orders of the General you can do anything in this fictional world, without consulting anyone. I remember in the film “District N9” by Vikus Van De Merwe already a few hours later, scientists were going to put on the organs for study, and here with Yulichka tatsack, the Pope is the Lord of all Russia. And what was her mysterious power in the first half of the film, as described in the description "Scientists and the military are atomizing her feelings, emotions and experiences"? The water wobble? A really dark phoenix of domestic production.
Well, to conclude, I still have questions and surprises: where under the water dome, constantly gaining density, sunlight, and to the very last moment, coming from somewhere from the outside? Weird. The scene with the flood and General Lebedev looked funny, I even remembered the analogy with the film Titanic and its captain. Surprisingly, in the first part, Chariton told Yulia very instructive words about the fact that people kill themselves when they see a cigarette, and in this series he says that you can smoke, because you have a therapeutic bracelet. And even if you think about it, why Hariton Julia? At what point did a superintelligent alien man wake up to love our heroine? Where is this entanglement, after which you have no doubt that yes, indeed, he is ready to trade his world for her, as was shown in the same "City of Angels". Well, the actual plot of "Invasion" raises some questions for me. What is Yuli’s threat to foreign intelligence, why is she their enemy? All this shit with water, where's all this logical enlightenment? Is it necessary to drink distilled water of a certain brand? All this two-hour circus with floods and exploding sewers for this or what? Again, it is ridiculous that Khariton’s ship regenerates from any water, in particular from the above-mentioned sewer, but that would cure Yulia (given that the Moscow river flows in all its greatness) you need to fill the bathtub with water of a certain brand. It's crazy and crazy again. Some of it was funny. Thanks.
The situation in modern Russian cinema strongly resembles the 80s in the Soviet Union - on the one hand, the focus on cast-iron "tradition" with self-isolation, on the other - the obvious need for reforms, existence in the current information space and boredom, boredom.
The present 80s at one time led to Perestroika, as a kind of compromise between the desired and more or less possible, and then to the lightning collapse of a huge country and an entire era.
The mini-era of modern Russia, which was observed by us and reached its new turn in 2014, prevented the mistakes of its predecessors and began experiments with the synthesis of the unsynthesized much more quickly. One of the first to smell this trend was the director Fyodor Bondarchuk, who was fondled by the Russian authorities, and back in 2017 released science fiction “Attraction”, which dressed up in the clothes of almost intellectual humanism, and in fact (according to the Party line) spoke on topical topics of street confrontations and the responsible yoke of the Russian Army. Despite significant achievements at the box office - both Russian and global, the rating of viewers and critics left much to be desired - a rating of 5.6 at Kinopoisk, 36% "freshness" on the Rotten Tomatoes website.
Three years have passed. Director Bondarchuk did not listen to detractors, and “Invasion” became a direct descendant of “Attraction” not only in the plot, but also in terms of idealistic orientation and artistic level. Apple from the apple, as they say.
Already opening credits show us the main characteristics of the upcoming spectacle: expensive, but tasteless and pretentious. The half-hearted idea is trying to revive the count of annoying camera kulbits, computer graphics (most often inappropriate) and artists building scary eyes.
The script by Oleg Malovichko (one of the most “genre” Russian film writers) is full of problems: it is logical failures, and unfulfilled plot promises, and outright inconclusiveness (for example, a fashionable bearded IT specialist, hacking a complex network of international satellites in two minutes) and a whole heap of unnecessary scenes.
All these problems the creators crudely (and not very skillfully) sprinkle Hollywood techniques twenty years ago (among the frank tracing – almost copied from the “Titanic” scene with the captain, not leaving the perishing ship).
Invasion, however, diligently makes a good face and even tries to seem like an inventive, innovative film - it even for some reason was released with a non-standard aspect ratio of 2.66:1. It is a pity that the picture itself (not least due to artificial blackout and boring color correction) still resembles an amateur video of a young filmmaker.
In addition, as in the case of the original “Attraction”, the filming of the sequel for some reason took place under the seal of strict secrecy – as if they had “the Avengers” or a new Tarantino, honestly.
It doesn’t work out from “Invasion” and a strong drama, because because of the cardboard script, artists simply have nothing to play. The main characters of the "Invasion" - performed by Irina Starshenbaum, Oleg Menshikov and Rinal Mukhametov irritate from the first to the last minute, but against their background, a new character played by Yuri Borisov and, of course, Alexander Petrov, whose hero the authors (again unknown - why) subjected, compared to the first part, significant external changes. Petrov, however, with the complacency of the creators coped and did the job perfectly.
However, like any expensive genre canvas, “Invasion” has something to boast about. In the film there are several very successful shots, and the artists, as well as employees of other technical workshops, coped with the work very well.
However, you forget about any technical achievements of "Invasion" quite quickly - because if the dubious professionalism of the authors was the only thing you can accuse him of.
Any patriotic or quasi-patriotic film (no matter how hard you try to convince, “Invasion” is just such a movie) can be divided into two components – sincerity / truthfulness and talent / professionalism. At least one of the wheels in such a bicycle must spin (for example, the cult “Brother 2” in fact was and remains a naive, far-fetched and even stupid fairy tale, but, thanks to the talent of the people who made this movie, the phenomenon of this film is known in our open spaces to all).
As for the “Invasion”, then both wheels creak piercingly and periodically fail, and they are trying to drive this simple apparatus with the help of a sledgehammer at a cost of several tens of millions of dollars. In short, it turns out both false and incompetent at the same time.
The sides of Good and Evil in the Invasion are marked with frightening clarity: the Light is responsible for the almost silent people, the Ministry of Defense and an alien who fell in love with the dugout. For Darkness - rallies (oh, how the summer events in Moscow turned out in time!), modern technology and an invisible villain named Ra - an emotionless alien intelligence acting solely out of dry expediency.
The latter, by the way, works as a collective image of a mystical and terrible foreign aggressor, a faceless and invisible external enemy who, even before the “honest” occupation begins, is rocking the situation in the country with the help of provocations, deception and, of course, the Internet (one of the most ironic frames of the film is the editorial of the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, which calls not to trust digital sources of information). Such sophisticated foreign interference causes a heap of terrible consequences - terrorist attacks, fake news on social networks, rallies (they are, of course, the result of sabotage of the domestic Internet), and so on.
Employees of the Armed Forces represent the honor, dignity and conscience of the nation, and if they commit reprehensible acts, it is only through the fault of enemies.
Speaking of the Ministry of Defense - thanks to the same nasty social networks, it became known that conscripts are forcibly driven to the "Invasion" sessions.
Bondarchuk’s film eventually seems to oppose weapons, war and the escalation of conflicts (even the mantra about “We can repeat” is not welcome here), and advocates for the salvation of loved ones and the protection of the environment (who, if not Russia, poetize wildlife and demonize militant progress), but does it with such a vile forgery that the creators, in addition to blatant hacking, can be safely accused of civil conformity and elementary meanness – they invented and sang some poisonous humanity, a special edition of humanism, adjusted to the needs of today’s Russia.
"Invasion" desperately tries to sit on two mutually exclusive chairs, to combine patriarchal values with a modern setting and a fantastic plot. Just like the alien Haakon, which does not learn to communicate with earthlings, but has a stylish hairstyle and model unshavenness.
It is not known what should happen for Bondarchuk Jr. to be able to give a job at the level of his own debut - a very good "9th company". Perhaps this can only lead to the expulsion of the director from the cinematic “Olympus” of the Moscow Kremlin and the return of that to an honest craft.

The invasion is a breakthrough in the national cinema!
1. 01. 2020 was released film Fyodor Sergeyevich Bondarchuk, I honestly admit that seeing the trailer of the film, I was waiting for it more movie ' Attraction' (I overpowered it only 2 times at the insistence of a friend). I was attracted by the beautiful picture, the cast and the premonition that it would not be a sequel to the first film, but something new and something very big.
It turns out. We cannot but agree that this turned out to be a really top film, that Bondarchuk is the only director who was able to reach a new level and show what our cinema is capable of. Graphics, special effects, visuals & #39; things & #39; - this is all at the highest level, such as we have never seen. Many write: they say the film is bad, the effects and all the graphics licked with American films, etc. No one says that we have done better, in the West such technologies have long been used and every year will surprise the viewer with something new. But the point is that we were able to get close to that level. Everyone has long been accustomed to Western fiction and instead of appreciating our cinema, the commentary begins to compare.
If you look at it, almost all Western fiction comes down to some superheroes or to save someone, well, to the execution of a super mission. Movie ' Invasion ' and more on that. But only here is the theme of fathers and children (General Lebedev and his daughter), here is the topic of simply human relationships, and one of the most important thoughts that we live in a world where everyone is connected with technology, that with the help of our smartphones, computers and other digital technologies we can hang any noodles, make you believe in anything, and just manipulate people. And it gets really scary. It’s scary that in the near future, what can happen in the film, but without aliens, of course (and who knows), but similar.
39: The Invasion is not a sequel to the first film, it is a separate, large-scale and very cool story, only with the same characters, in the same city, in our country. Each image was carefully worked out, all the characters really ' grew up', the script, dialogues are much better, we learned to write dialogues, not just shoot a beautiful picture. Even in such seemingly tense moments, jokes were prescribed and made to laugh.
Thank you BIG FSB and all his team for this film, for faith in our cinema!
