“Claustrophobes” for the audience is not a novelty at all, because relatively recently a number of films dedicated to the incredibly popular entertainment among young people-quest-puzzle, brought to life, were released. As far as I know, previous films of this type of special rating did not gain, so this one took the leading position among them with an audience rating of 7 out of 10. I think it was this "seven" that inspired me to watch.
The story can be described in two words: predictable and banal. No, I can’t say that the film turned out not interesting: the writers did a good job on the epilogue, the set and part of the climax, but then they, apparently, became lazy and the remaining denouement and finale turned out to be absolutely unfinished. I especially want to note the end, which can only be described by the word “fiasco”, since a series of completely incomprehensible and illogical events eventually gave way to my favorite incompleteness, and even with a hint of further continuation.
If I were asked to choose a better moment, it would definitely be a billiard room scene. High-quality shooting, special effects and music contributed to the moment, adding a kind of charm and entourage, giving the picture a sense of constant tension, mixing with mystery and unpredictability.
Very sweet and sentimental loser Ben is the best thing that could happen to the movie. This role went to Logan Miller – still completely unknown in Hollywood society actor, who, in my opinion, quite professionally used to the role, making me feel sincere feelings for his character.
To be honest, this film was very difficult for me to evaluate. A truly worthy start and such an uninteresting, tasteless, unprofessional ending, which simply ruined my impression of the film.

The vast majority of positive reviews, the rating is above average, and also a large number of enthusiasts – “the idea is good (New)...
So why not go to the cinema for a night session on a weekend?
Buy a well-known brand of chocolate, unpack a chocolate bar and then pack it in another wrapper. Here's a new idea.
Thriller (from English thrill - thrill, excitement) - a genre of works of literature and cinema, aimed at causing the viewer or reader feelings of anxious expectation, excitement or fear.
I watched in one breath, the film did not cause any emotions. This is the film that you will see - check the box (viewed), and you will not return to this work. To think about the hidden meaning and reflect on why this or that character did so, and not otherwise, there is no need, we all chew and serve on a platter by the authors themselves.
The story is primitive, as I said. The idea is not new, only changed the location of what is happening. Previously, if a group of teenagers tried to get out alive from an abandoned house in the middle of the forest, at night.
Now, from the quest rooms. That's the difference.
A bunch of people gathered in one place, no one knows each other, but at the same time they all have something in common, at the same time they are all different and each has its advantages.
Getting into a stalemate situation, of which there will be several, the strengths and weaknesses of each are revealed, which significantly helps to go further.
But remembering movies like The Game, The Sixth Sense, remembering the emotions you felt during and after watching the movie, it becomes funny. Everything is known by comparison.
Bottom line: boring, predictable movie wrapped? New, young? Idea? Quests? Like a thriller, no good, no bad, just no. You'll forget him in a few days. For a movie to be remembered, it must call either 1 or -1. 0 causes nothing.
The general impression: something like that was missing from watching the movie "The Cube." If you like it, then you should also go to "Claustrophobes". Let’s take a closer look:
Plot. Everything is very simple for this genre, you will not see any very surprising moments that are shocking in the end. But everything is brought to a quite logical conclusion, so some understatement also disappears, which in itself is a plus. There are very unfortunate turns and decisions, but they are quickly smoothed out and do not spoil the overall impression of the film.
Actors. Each is successfully selected for its type, because for such films, different personalities are important in limited conditions. They interact with each other interestingly, reveal themselves in the course of the film from new sides and cause different emotions. It should be.
Shooting. They made a movie. Some moments make you really worry and worry. And here the merit is not only the fact that the main characters are several and you can remove a couple. Shooting! All frames convey the atmosphere and degree of the characters’ problems, but at the same time they do not press and allow you to immerse yourself in viewing.
Sound. All effects are based on the plot and visual picture, the sound accompanies this series, but is not the main one. He doesn't pull the movie, but he doesn't pull it down either. Harmonious.
In general, a good film within its genre, which does not bring anything new, does not set new standards. It's just made in a thoughtful and high-quality way. A good choice for going to a boring film, which you can discuss, but not argue about it after watching.

Let me start by saying that this will be my first review. I don’t have much experience watching movies, so I decided to do it for myself. Here we go.
1) I watched the movie a couple of hours ago. Just spontaneously a friend called to a movie, so I went. I'll just say it's two-fold. Now analysis.
2) Analysis: as the foreword is my first horror in the cinema (there were no screamers and similar labuda, and no points in the 3D hall were given). I decided to distribute my analysis by items: plot, acting, heroes, blunders / clichés, special effects and ending. At the end, there will be a conclusion, and I will make a verdict on the film.
A) Plot: I think a lot of people have noticed that the movie looks a lot like the CUB. Only here the heroes voluntarily came, and there was still a chance to get money. Everyone wakes up in the room and that’s it. The characters and their relationships are similar. In the beginning everything is fine, in the end everyone quarrels. It turns out after KUB this is my second horror of this plan, so I will say the bent atmosphere, the emotions of the heroes - everything perfectly conveyed the plot. I loved it.
B) Acting: the characters are completely different, I really liked it. Also some are clearly ' evolving'. For example, Zoe from timid and shy turned into more open and direct, and Ben from a figist became even part caring. Positive.
B) Heroes: In general, the characters are selected well, as mentioned above – the originality is off the scale. Some are more original, others are just a shell. Average.
D) Lips/cliché: this is the part of the analysis that whispers to me ' You didn't like this movie, it's bottom' Whether or not I will find out at the end, and now about the above. Main cliché 'Black Dies First'- not used. And that's good. I also liked the originality of the rooms, they are certainly better than in the paintings of this plan. And now blunders. . Uh, you should see my facepalm. I found two really big ones in my opinion. I will not spoiler, but experienced and not very movie fans they will definitely cause bewilderment and questions. Yeah, my friends told me it was possible and it wasn't a blunder, but I was screaming in my head all the way home. What kind of image? To put it simply, the hard blunders darkened the picture. P.S.: I did not take gaffes on the type ' In this frame, the nightstand so, in another syak'. I don't see any point in looking at that. Facebook.
E) Special effects: literally one sentence. . . You can see a weak budget, so the effects are made weak and cheap, for example, fire from games / movies of the 90s. Minus.
E) Ending: +1 facepalm from me. You know, it's like this crossing broke the fourth wall. It even reminded me of a show in early Russia, where someone was constantly saying ' And we'll find out in the next issue' or 'Don't switch!'. All right, let's go through the ending. Yes, yes, the same cliches, do not hope for more. In general, the ending was upset by the reference to the next film (which will definitely be, do not even doubt), and so-quite cliched. Minus.
Generalization: in general, the whole picture took the best of the film KUB and remade in a new way, making the characters more colorful, and the plot stretched and more confusing.
Claustrophobia is a Jigsaw-style horror thriller. But with a modern idea. If there was - to inflict injury for the redemption of past sins, then here - to pass the quest at the cost of your life, if not passed. The idea is fresher, more sensible and, of course, it's just a klondike of ideas for many, many series ahead. After all, to come up with an interesting quest and film the ways of trying to solve it is not as difficult as it seems. It remains only to describe and motivate the main characters.
And with this the plot of the film copes more than well. And the motivation is spelled out, and the characters are unique and interesting each with their story, someone revealed better, someone worse. And the general idea will be, and the twists of a few pieces at the end will also be. No, the film does not pretend to be the title of "fig dig" - sometimes the actions of the characters are traditionally stupid and linear, akin to "well, whatever, if it is clear that it was possible to do so," but these punctures in the film Claustrophobes are not very tense, since the main plot turned out to be very sharp, mysterious, and you really do not know what will happen in the next moment and what the next quest will be in the task along the course of the film.
The setting is a little boring, but already from the middle of the first quest, the viewer’s attention goes completely into the screen. And then the plot does not let go until the end.
The localization of the title is extremely unfortunate, and otherwise a great first part of the future series, here you can be sure of success and sequels. Yes, finding fault with the details - not everything is perfectly thought out, but still, much is thought out, mysteries are interesting, the plot catches, it is clear that the writers after writing at least a couple of times re-read what was written and smoothed out the most egregious shoals, adding justifications and stories of the characters. The first part was very interesting and exciting, something will be in the second – we will see. It is highly recommended for viewing in movies. And yes, eat, who is very afraid: treshaka in the film at least, it was not drinking, there will be almost no intestines and other abominations, the moments of death are not emphasized. All focus on quests and the struggle for life. That's interesting. I'm in the genre of crazy.
The game has begun, comrades. Now the fashion for all sorts of quests, so it is not surprising that the creators of thrillers and horror films decided to touch on this topic. Let’s see what happens.
First, the name. Russian distributors decided not to bother and translated as the soul lay down. I didn’t see a single sign of claustrophobia in the characters, there was something to be afraid of. But since this is not the only film with the original title “Escape Room” and all the appropriate translation options have already been dismantled, chosen from what remains. This is not a claim, just an observation.
Two: genre. I went to the movie with confidence that there would be another Saw. What a surprise it was when I got a really good thriller that reminded me of my favorite Mindhunters. Blood froze in the veins, but the screen was not splashed. For this aesthetic, plus the creators.
Three: soundtracks. What I always pay attention to is the music. The track during the credits is great.
What conclusions I made for myself: I will never go to the quests real; be sure to review the film to pay attention to detail; on the Internet, many people write that the film is something similar to the film Cube-worth to include in the viewing list and compare.
The film is for those who like to tickle their nerves, to straight goosebumps running. They'll run, and they'll be huge. I promise.

First of all, your film reminds everyone of the well-known "Cube". He's losing, of course. That's a comparison. If you remember the cult creation of Vincenzo Natalie. And so, quite a good entertaining pop-corn-movie, which does not require you there intellectual urge and innate insight. Just be careful sometimes and it will work out. The end.
I would like to add short texts like in 2005. There would be a thousand and one reviews. Now it's easy not to run over the line. It means that with the movie "Claustrophobia". As has been noted many times, the film is great with the idea. Proven scheme: gather strangers in a room, but connected to each other and make them play by their own rules. It happened.
It can be repeated if in fresh form. So, the plot deftly walked along the walkable path, but when it came time to come out of the dense forest, a predictable course of events occurred. Oh, after all, they arranged it. Well, of course, who else, because only they can organize the most terrible quest on the verge of life and death. In general, it was not possible to make death guilty.
Or Fate or Fantasy. I remember the exhilarating “Cube” attracted firm attention with its boundless mystery, which surrounded that bizarre world of nowhere. And "Claustrophobes" is aimed only at the entertainment layer, which, of course, cannot be blamed on him. He's doing his best. Most importantly, the actors were picked up excellent, did not distract your attention.
Especially Deborah Anne Wall is good-s. Red Aryan surrounded by Indians, African Americans, Redneks. To put it mildly, the film does not allow itself to be involved. More precisely, to be in yourself, so that, sitting in the chair of the cinema, thoughts would begin that if we were in such a quest. This is also not a puncture, just horror often makes you imagine and think. Here we are.
In the California city of San Diego there is a real house of horrors. Visitors are tied up, put in cages infested with snakes and spiders, doused with fake blood. The full duration of the quest is eight hours. But no one has been able to withstand all the tests yet! Even hardened sailors ran out of the house with tears.
The film shocked his idea, very few films with this idea about 3-4. Quests are a whole separate universe where you can come up with anything, because the quests themselves are about any terrible stories, from folklore or cinema, and hence the extraordinary need for very convincing emotional talents of actors.
I liked the entourage and scenery, in which the film was transferred from the brazier to the glaciers, from one to another, and each took his ' highlight ' In each subsequent room there was something that interested the viewer to think and evaluate the actions of the main characters.
It should be noted that the cast looks great in this film, completely different people both in the film and in the real world perfectly contrast with all the other characters.
Everything would be fine, but the film has a huge drawback that makes the film not as good as we would like - namely, a spoiler moment at the very beginning of the film, which is absolutely inappropriate, which makes it possible to predict the further action of the hero, which will lead to his departure from the game. I think this is a terrible technique, without which the picture would be better, and the rating is higher.
The film also has a few ' unusual' moments that are often present in films like ' if something growls maliciously in the basement, you need to go there, with a flashlight, check', there are several such moments, they catch your eye not to spoil the whole film, call in analogy - ' If one of the characters find a breathing mask where it should not be - then the question ' What was this hero going to do with it?' Inappropriate and looks very stupid'
In general, the film is very good, very beautiful, interesting and exciting from beginning to end, except for a couple of moments.
Summing up all the above, we conclude - the film for viewing I recommend, brought a lot of positive emotions.

'Escape Room' translated as a quest, not 'Claustrophobes' but our creatives decided otherwise. Claustrophobia is a phobia of closed or cramped spaces. How many claustrophobes do you think the quest will take? That's right, zero! So, the title in our translation is something, it does not reflect the essence and intention of the film.
Now let's talk a little bit about what we saw in the movie.
Images. Of the 6 main characters, 2 - maximum 3 are thought out. Yes, and do not even mislead some scenes of the film - these are not thought-out images - this is an attempt to hide the author's flaws. To understand how many images there are in the film, just close your eyes and answer the question of who says a particular phrase! And you will understand that in the film there are only two voices: female and male, and each hero should have his own!
2. The quest locations are nothing. Really. They are not scary, they are not complicated, they are absolutely the same type. Dear filmmakers, the fact that one element changes to another does not change the essence. And then one public place changes to another. Well, honestly, it's weak! All this makes the most of the pilot series. Plus, trying to connect everything that happens with the past of the heroes looks so strained and so banal. Everything seems to be by the ears, plus the whole film did not leave me the feeling that all this was done at the last moment in order to add to the film at least some interesting plot.
3. Relevance - there is a feeling that the film about quests a little late year so 3 - 4. Like a plot of a thriller or a horror movie - yes, but for a separate story this plot clearly does not pull.
4. Director. Of course, I have not seen Astral 4, but all films where there is a figure of 4, 5, etc. are not a sign of quality, but an attempt to make money on something once interesting for the viewer, because it is becoming more and more difficult to invent new things, and everyone is ready to learn old themes. I don’t think that modern cinema benefits from this, apparently the abundance of superheroes affects the flow of ideas in general. Superheroes collect money, but something interesting - alas. You have to go back and forth to old ideas. Therefore, we are waiting for a lot of remakes, sequels and other old stuff, allegedly wrapped in a new shell, so that the studio somehow kept afloat.
So, the conclusion: you can go to the movie to pass a couple of hours, but no more.

Films about prisoners who are trying to get out of a confined room for decades. The most famous series is, of course, Saw. However, five years before the appearance of the first picture of the franchise, the thriller Cube appeared on the screens. According to the plot, several people are trapped in a huge cube, each room in which could become a death trap. It's a very similar story, isn't it? I think if you dig into filmography, you can find prototypes of this subgenre in earlier years. Naturally Claustrophobes became the continuation of the already established movie template with all its advantages and disadvantages.
Quest rooms are a popular entertainment in megacities. People are willing to pay to be locked in a room where it is very difficult to find a way out. However, even such a rather specific pleasure caused by trying to get out of prison began to decrease - there is a lack of adrenaline. Here comes the secret organization 'Minos' organizing the most realistic quests in the world. They are so realistic that you can even die in them.
The film for its subgenre is quite typical. Each room is a unique test run with its own rules. To pass it, you need to solve a number of problems, not always obvious. It really looks like an ordinary quest, but no one will help here, and the presenter will only rejoice in the next failure of the players.
Also, the characters are a set of characteristic images: a botanist-gamer, a former serviceman with psychological trauma, a loser dissatisfied with his life, a good-natured elderly trucker, a cynical careerist and a pinched insecure girl. Heroes unfold exactly as you expect them to. Nothing unexpected is happening here. The story is also very predictable.
Criticizing such a movie is pointless. Firstly, this is an ordinary representative of a psychological thriller, as the picture declares in the trailer. Secondly, there are almost no completely illogical situations for the genre (one point still haunts us: how a modest introvert managed to get to the oxygen mask), the conspiracy theory looks almost adequate in this context. Third, let’s throw away objectivity, I just admit that I love this genre.
Claustrophobes is a good psychological thriller that will allow the viewer to fall out of reality for more than an hour and a half and plunge into a game quest. There will be no revelations, no need to wait for a breathtakingly told story, forget about extremely ambiguous characters. This is just a good representative of its subgenre, watching which you can relax.
In an age when computer games have to compete with various quest rooms that promise unforgettable adventures in life, few would think that in such places your life can be put in danger. Constant observation by special cameras, publicity and support of friends who are next to you, allow you not to worry about your own safety. But there are exceptions to every rule. . .
A few strangers arrive at some organization that encourages them to sign up for an experiment in an innovative quest room. At the same time, the winner is promised a very large amount of money, from which no one is exactly going to refuse. But when the doors close and the room begins to turn into a torture zone, it becomes clear that this is more than a harmless quest.
Idea 'Claustrophobes' really good. It is an expanded, more extensive version of 'Saws'. But if in the first parts of the bloody harvest of John Kramer, we were in constant tension and did not suspect what the final is, then in the film of Adam Robitel there are quite a few extra moments that dull the audience’s interest.
In my opinion, the main problem of the film is that its leading characters are not sufficiently revealed. We know almost nothing about some characters at all, which means that it is impossible to worry about them. They act as extras who do not affect the drama in any way. And so to do in a closed thriller was definitely impossible.
But they were happy with the rooms they had to get out of. Here the creators were able to turn around and see exactly what the production budget was spent on. Special effects are not bad, traps cause fear and this is the strongest part of the film.
'Claustrophobes' could be better if the authors could work out the plot properly and not be distracted from the main thing. Working with characters is very important. Adam Robitell thought otherwise.
'Claustrophobes' is a film that disappointed me.
When I found out that the director of this picture, Adam Robitel, I expected that all the time will fly ' sudden ' screamers with the most twisted volume. Thank God it was fine. On the contrary, the emphasis is on the atmosphere, on the inexplicability of what is happening, that is, you do not know what to expect. In fact, the whole movie is very tense. I especially liked all the riddles, rooms, quests, of course, there is something to find fault with, but I do not want to focus on this at all.
The acting is quite good, but the characters themselves seemed too stereotypical. In some places, their conversations were not fun, as intended, but stupid. There were a few strange actions that the authors explain with phrases like this & #39; wanted to show off' despite the fact that they are all in danger. So, I can say that the first half of the film was done quite well, interesting story, intrigue, tension. Is it possible to ruin everything? Yes!
Towards the end, there are so many absurd situations, so much delirium, cliché, stupidity, that I was shocked. For example, if I get it right, the authors do believe that if a person dies, they can get up and revitalize themselves. How can you put such stupidity into a movie? And this is not the only absurdity, at the end of such a dozen, including explanations of the motivation of the villains. Well, all the mood and all the atmosphere killed. It should also be mentioned that we have not been explained how this all happens and why. They only showed what the sequel is going to do.
I do not like such moves of the type ' everything that is not clear here will be explained in the sequel, then what was incomprehensible there will be explained in another sequel ' and so on until they get tired of filming. When they make a sequel, I will no longer be interested, because I cannot take seriously what happens in the first part, if everything in it remains unknown to me. I can’t call the picture 'Claustrophobes' a bad film, but also a good – I can’t.

Hard to believe, but in the last three years this is the third horror film in our box office, named in the original Escape Room. Distributors involuntarily have to show creativity - and after "Quest" and "Claustrophobia" on the screens come out... "Claustrophobes." How not to get confused - this is a task, a worthy quest!
All these films are shot on the same “hype” theme – the misadventures of the characters in the quest rooms, where the evil organizers kill them for real – so you have to compare these films. And the new "Claustrophobes" look better than their predecessors. They are benefited by the budget (not small by modern standards for compact horror $ 10 million), and an experienced director (Adam Robitel, director of Astral 4), and a cute cast, and most importantly - fantasy, making each next trap unpredictable and not similar to the previous one.
To present a bunch of strangers to each other heroes so that the audience does not confuse them and - aerobatics - imbued with even small sympathy - the task for many directors is unsolvable. “Claustrophobes” honorably pass this first audience test, showing a brief backstory of the three characters, and introducing the story of the others “in the process.” Despite the “chamber” of form and content, there is enough space in the hour and a half film for flashbacks a la “Lost”, linking the experience of the heroes with today’s trials. And all this without losing pace!
The first trap sets the tone for the whole film - an ordinary reception room turns into a flaming brazier. Unfortunately, the same scene caused the film to be cancelled in Poland and other European countries. By a gloomy coincidence, in early January, several Polish teenagers burned in the quest room.
Then the characters, like Alice in Wonderland, move from one game space to another, and this is not just a change of scenery, but a change in temperature, climate, and even coordinate systems. Sometimes fantasy takes the authors too far (a scene with a black and white room brings the sura to the brink of parody), but in general everything is done with good taste and attention to the viewer. At the best moments, the film almost reaches the “gold standard” of such a movie – “Cuba” and “Cabins in the Woods”, and the opening scene resembles a brilliant trap room in the Spanish “West of the Farm”.
No matter how inventive the adventures of the characters in closed rooms, the main test for the film is the denouement and explanation - what it was, for whom and why (for example, this part completely failed the previous quest film "Claustrophobia"). “Claustrophobes” passed this test not flawlessly, but still opened the veil of mystery exactly so that the audience did not experience disappointment, and even left the groundwork for the sequel.
If you blame the complex mechanism of “Claustrophobia”, it’s just for... deliberate thoughtfulness. Mysterious villains made the quest so individually under the peculiarities, fears and past of these players that you inevitably wonder about financial efficiency – is it true that someone so steamed, making a quest “by the standards” of the heroes instead of just launching any people there and arrange a “dumb urine”. However, this aesthetic approach adds mystery and charm to the plot.
There are practically no complaints about the cast of the film - it was nice to see "old Dale" from the comedy "Homicide Holiday" (Tyler Labin), and the young Logan Miller in his 26 years is already noticeable in such genre projects as the series "The Walking Dead", the horror "What Would You Do", the zombie comedy "Scouts vs. Zombie" and the recent melodrama "With Love, Simon".
It is not known whether long enough "hype" genre of films about quests (already in March in Moscow will be the premiere of the Russian-Italian project "Quest of Fear"), but the comparison of existing samples shows that the audience's attention can and should be kept inside the closed room. You just need to think “out of the box” – that is, unconventional, which literally translates as “out of the box”. Because the "inside the box" of the polish is already quite trampled...
"Claustrophobes" - a spectacular thriller about the passage of quests can safely claim the title of the best film on this topic. From the first minutes of the story, the viewer plunges into an action adventure with very complex mysteries and deadly trials. Hard to believe, but everything that happens is somewhat reminiscent of the Saw franchise, but only without bloody mess and excessive cruelty, but in the frame there is a constant suspense, intrigue and mystery within a certain game.
Six strangers receive an invitation to participate in an adventure quest with a decent prize pool. And all nothing, but the fun after a while turns into a real struggle for survival, in which the price is much more, that just a cash prize. Heroes are waiting for a large number of puzzles, puzzles and difficult tasks, where they will need to apply all their skills and abilities to reach the finals alive and unharmed. There are clues in every new room, but the slightest mistake or inattention can lead to terrifying consequences. But at the same time, the characters themselves are not as simple as it may seem at first glance, so with each new test it becomes more interesting and exciting.
The film was directed by the growing horror maker Adam Robitell, behind whom there are already two films: “Demons Deborah Logan” and “Astral 4”. Last key. As screenwriters appear Bragie F. Shoot ("Witch Time") and Maria Melnik ("On the Other Side", American Gods" and "Black Sails"), who soon herself as a director will shoot her first film, the full-length comic book "Fate". It is also worth noting the operator-director, who has already distinguished himself in such films as “And the light goes out” and “Furious 7”.
As part of the production, the film was made very competently, spectacularly and interestingly. Since the beginning of the quest, the heroes are constantly on the edge of dangerous events that seriously affect the emotions of the viewer, pressing them into the chair from the inflating atmosphere. Throughout most of the film, there is constant empathy for the heroes who reveal themselves and others in the course of the story.
Particular admiration is caused by the artistic part of the production, namely the scenery, which are perceived very original and spectacular. Of course, there are small claims to the cast, but in general, the events taking place overshadow the slight inconclusiveness of some actors.
It is worth noting that the authors of the film believe in their project and therefore in the end everyone hints that the film is the beginning of a big franchise. Unfortunately, it lacks a coherent story and therefore it is necessary to be prepared for the fact that in the end there will be many questions and unresolved tasks for both the viewer and the characters of the film.
Summing up, we can safely say that for fans of such games, the film “Claustrophobes” will be a real gift, because it is truly a high-quality film quest for the mass audience. Have a good time.
"Claustrophobes" is how distributors translated "Escape Room". The title has no connection to the content of the film. Or maybe the thing is that the picture with the title “Quest” was not so long ago at the box office. Nobody knows.
The characters in "Claustrophobes" are not directly cardboard, but are revealed very superficially. Some information is given literally two or three sentences, while others are almost zero (like Mike). Although without the “breaking of the covers” was not done. Watching the heroes is interesting, but they are absolutely not sorry. In addition, to determine who will last until the end of the misadventures or almost to the end, it will not be difficult for the viewer.
The weakness of the characters is compensated by the main content of the film. Deadly quest rooms are very interesting and inventive. None of them is like the other: a starting room, a roast room, a room representing an inverted (literally) billiard club, a hospital ward with beds for each of the heroes, and so on – it’s very cool. The viewer can see the full scale of the locations, there is no feeling of “studio” or static, thanks to brilliant camera work, the peak of which is the mentioned inverted room.
“Guns”, hung by the creators of the rooms (as, in other words, before the quest), “shot”. Of course, such a flight of thought as in “Saw” should not be expected. Still, the puzzles are interesting. There's a lot to worry about. The ending was a bit weak, but I think it was a necessary sacrifice to make a sequel someday. “It’s completely impossible to dig in” – not about this case, but there is nothing critical. The main thing is that the picture keeps the viewer in constant tension, and 1:40 timekeeping flies unnoticed.
Actors. Taylor Russell played a good gray mouse. Logan Miller was good as a simpleton with no inner world. Jay Ellis didn’t like it, he had to play an exorbitant HCV, and not just crooked. Tyler Labine was in the role of himself. The rest were almost not disclosed to somehow evaluate the game, even the hero of Yorik van Wageningen.
Thus, “Claustrophobia” is a good thriller. He is able to please both fans of the genre and viewers, who treat thrillers calmly.

To release this in 2019 on the big screens is akin to announcing the next end of the world. The film is just hanging out somewhere ' immediately ' on stream platforms, for to watch this miracle of cinema on the cinema screen action from the category ' My ear carried!'. The truth is, the movie just has a good trailer that sells the product perfectly. Here, for example, our 'Dawn' this was clearly not enough, as a result - the box office backyard.
Retell the plot 'Claustrophobes' impossible - yawn on the second word. The whole film is one solid stamp that even somehow do not want to blush. Together, we have 13 John Cramers in the Fear Room. Kristen Stewart was missing (at least in a cameo). Characters came as if from the century before last, do not stand out and are not remembered. None of the heroes have a smart arch. Everything is like one solid meat, which is extremely difficult to empathize with. I don't care if anyone survives. Even in the memorable '31' Rob Zombie had characteristic villains, each with its own twist. What is it? Just a shadow on the monitor. What's that? Is that a character? What is it (or is it?) doing?
The movie is boring. Closer to the middle, you lose interest in storytelling. The film is about mysteries, but there are no mysteries. Heroes frankly fool around, try to be climbers, polar explorers, even drug addicts. To the accompaniment of all this is an absurd finale, in which instead of explanations and a logical point, a fat claim to be continued.
Plus the project still has: the work of the shop of artwork is just wonderful. That's who really did well, and pulled it out of the abyss of creative disgrace.
Verdict: Trailer ' Burn, Burn Clear' was more intense and atmospheric than the film itself.
“Claustrophobes” is an insanely clichéd and implausible film. Everything is done so badly in terms of the script that there is simply nowhere worse.
Now I will try to objectively analyze everything in detail.
1. Scenario
Plot... To begin with, he's secondary. It tells the story of a group of people who are invited to play a very popular quest, but something goes wrong and everything turns into a game with death. But the problem is that we have seen this many times in several tapes. Why do the same thing, just in other places and without mysticism? All right, if you're already starting out, you're going to have some kind of originality, rather than just rewrite the script with the characters and the story, changing the little details. But you had to go even further and go so far as to copy it with a mountain of stupidity and stupidity in addition. And separately, I wanted to mention the entanglement of all this, which is just some kind of combo on the scale of poverty. It is so illogical and implausible that anyone will just want to “burn out” when watching.
I don't talk about heroes at all. Everything, like a copier, according to the standard of cheap horror, that is, clichéd, secondary and caricature. They are also not particularly pleasant in nature, and on the scale of adequacy and intelligence this is not at all for them.
Well, anyway: The script is some kind of brutal thrash without a particular bias in the logical component, the plot itself and the study of the characters.
2. Acting game
For many, it is simply not there, but some of the actors act out surprise and fear, which is their main task in this project. Everything seems elementary. Who can't handle it? As it turned out, the gender caste can not play normally. For tapes of this genre, this becomes the norm, the standard.
And everything in general goes to the fact that one of the most popular and successful genres of cinema slides into a deeper hole, where acting almost never.
3. Atmosphere
Are there any advantages here?! Yes, there is a good atmosphere. The director quite well showed the quest itself and the mysteries in it, as well as the very despair of the players who were there. It can also create some kind of tense entourage and a complete immersion in the story, but the truth is not for long, since the epic of stupidity still continues throughout the picture, and not in certain parts of it.
In the end: almost the only positive characteristic of the picture. It really wasn't that bad.
If you think about watching, it’s just for that.
In summary:
Yet this is the standard of entertaining, popular horror. Stupid, illogical and idiotic in terms of working out the script, great work with the locations and maintaining a good atmosphere in them, as well as absolutely no acting of degenerative, clichéd characters.
If we judge this as the film adaptation of the “quest room”, it is quite nothing, because everything can pull out the entourage itself, but as a tape with a good plot and original characters, it is not that a shot is past, but into the void and even blind!
I absolutely did not like the film, and I will not advise anyone.
But it may well appeal to fans of modern entertainment horror rides, which you can look, relax and forget.
But for me it still remains an unnatural passing picture, which to watch in the cinema for lovers of high-quality and well-developed films is not something that is not necessary, but simply not necessary.

Long ago, the loop ended Saw and Destination Point, and a new serial horror want. And the case of Jigsaw is not sitting still – the vacant place comes ESCAPE ROOM – or Claustrophobes in the Russian name (more logical would be “Quest”). Impressions without spoilers below!
After the release of this film, the business of all sorts of quests is doomed to an explosion of interest from the people. And Klaustrophobes will roll in Russia clearly successfully, the first days of rental speak about this: the fees are very good for the genre.
I'm in the genre format. That’s why you’re so generous:
Pass through fire, water and copper pipes. And not only.
Six circles of hell in a claustrophobic environment, what are they? Pressure? Scary? No doubt about it. Can you elaborate? Well, let's say in detail, but at least one description? Okay, I'll try. Just one.
And let me be forgiven for my own fantasy of what I saw. Embellishment doesn't mean understatement. To embellish it means to raise the bar of price.
It might sound something like this:
Professor, it's very good that you came. We have a strange patient. The excited look of crazy eyes. Delusions coming off the lips... And amazing thing, he constantly writes, writes, writes something.
- Did you know what he was writing?
- Here's a nurse picking up some sheets she dropped off the floor. Look at this.
- Well, well, interesting. Interesting.
They bought like fools to get easy money. A small present of the mystery of the game in which you were invited to participate. And the winner gets 10 grand in bucks. Why did I get into this? The brain is completely mad at the given puzzle. A rational explanation - why exactly I, why exactly me, was not found. The unconventional situation caused a slight stupor. It's stupid, I thought. Someone's prank is fun. It's a shame to waste time. But curiosity is hysterical with every cell of the skin - try and try. So what? Do you want to go where they invite you? Does it matter to me? I'll drop the questions. And the clarity will be extreme. And the consciousness will cease to chew this rubber again and again with mute questions of dialogue in itself.
Oh, is that how it turns out? Are you planning an interview? Why don't you start throwing more tests at me? I'm in the numerical queue of the same morons. Five lucky people took the bait besides me. Well, the diverse fellow citizens gathered. And by age, and gender, and social status. Showroom, of course. Are we being shown each other, or are we being secretly watched in the eye by those gathered together? Okay, I'll hold on a little. I'll just look at the gentlemen themselves who have been lured here, listen to their tirade and bow down. Think a fool or an idiot has been attacked. Well, we'll see who's mentally retarded.
I don't think I'm the only one so impatient at this zoo. The lady over there went off the beach. And rightly so, why do people squash? Wait a minute or two and get out. No time to sit down. Why do I have to? That's the crappy nature, go and go. Ambush
What is it? What happened? Can't leave the room? Did the doorknob break in your hands? What is this news? This is nonsense. What? Code code code like a safe? What's that about? Has the game started? Oh, that means what? We're all in this damn experiment. Where's the exit? Which door guarantees freedom? Let me out, I don't intend to participate.
Is it a Sudoku task? Encryption puzzle for intelligence. All right, I'll try to work this out with everyone. Some mousetrap with the door shut. A delusion that drives you crazy. Who's having such a good time here? Who's staring at us? Are we rats or rabbits for research? Anger with growing anger. Panic with a concussion vibration. Consciousness pulsates blood to the head. What the hell? Heat of the ceiling with hot roast. Are they out of their minds? That's too much. Exit, where's the exit? He should be. Think, think. Hurry up.
The paralyzing panic has returned. Eating like rye metal. Calm down. Just calm down. Take control of it. You understand and realize that this is only an internal state of uncertainty. Survival instinct screams. Calm down. Well, well. Good. Don't fuss. Breathe. Breathe more. Fill your lungs with a deep breath. Again. Well, it's already normalized. I'll be relieved. This five is only demoralizing in its haste. Their tantrums shouldn't bother you. Hold on. Hold on and think. Think.
Here's the answer.
Oven passed. We got out. All alive. But where did you go? This is not an adjacent room or exit from a building. Are we in a new maze trap? And here's your crossword puzzle again? Idiot...
- Professor-Professor, he constantly taunts the count about ten niggers
Ten Negroes decided to have lunch,
One suddenly choked and there were nine left.
Nine niggers ate, pecked nose,
One failed to wake up and there were eight left.
Eight blacks went for a walk then,
One did not return, and seven remained.
Seven Negroes waving an axe,
One of them cut himself off, they remained six.
Six Negroes went to the hives to play,
One was stung by a bumblebee and there were five left.
Five Negroes were judged,
One of them, four of them left.
Four Negroes went swimming in the sea.
One was caught on the bait - there are three left.
Let's go to the menagerie to walk all three,
One was eaten by a bear and there were two left.
Two Negroes lay down in the sun,
One was burned, and here is one, unhappy, lonely.
The last one was tired,
He hanged himself and there was no one left.
He must have been shocked, my dear. So the psyche responded with a protective mechanism. Transformed into visual imagery. Conceptual coloring of a series of images of people, rooms, situations. To make it clear to you, I am speaking. "Claustrophobes" are not uncommon now. What is he doing now?
- So writes and writes, continues to dot sheet by sheet.
- You gave him a sedative, which is good. Let him write. Stay out of it. I will observe it, and then let other specialists make “reviews” on what they saw.
Five story moments ahead. They have yet to be solved. And understand.

Claustrophobia is a symptom or phobia of close and confined spaces. It is considered, along with agorophobia, one of the most common pathological fears.
At least, the distributors slightly grasped the essence of the film. But once again, the original name of the Escape Room was distorted. But it’s not up to us to decide, maybe they didn’t want to avoid being compared to Fear Room, they wouldn’t go to the crowd and ask how to label the film. The film (now the South Africans can boast not only Blomkamp) was released on Ur! how claustrophobic, and take heart.
Chicago, Ellinois. Six strangers, including: know-it-all (Taylor Russell), a smoker (Logan Miller) - despairs of work, and he is advised to make friends and change something in his life, businessman Jason, Baba Major (Deborah Ann Wall), a nerd and an ordinary villager, receive a gift from friends, a cube with a puzzle. However, it is also an invitation to the most desperate game, riddles and hoaxes, where the winner will take $ 10,000. And the loser will not go to his house through the back door unharmed, but in parts, and the wrong clues will indicate your death.
Tyler Labin I remember from "Homic Holiday" and the theme of the winter landscape with a rural hut, here just by the way, because his hero admire this nostalgia. By the way, I liked Amanda, her desire and perseverance to get out of the game, besides Iraq, is worthy of admiration, and what self-sacrifice, because not every woman is capable of this! I remember the gamer Nick Dodani, who played more than one role in the series, remembered for "Selfie".
I have no doubt that John Crammer is the king of traps and sophisticated torture, but what will be shown here could rival them all. And even those trials and life difficulties experienced by players will repeatedly test their strength, as if someone was watching them more carefully at the time of disasters. Well, of the lucky ones, the most "lucky" should come out. And the Master of the game, Dr. Wu Tan Yu (Yorik), in my opinion, is not fully disclosed and these glasses did not scare much, unlike the thin appearance of Tobin Bell. But his character has contributed a lot to the game, so for sure we will see his full story.
In addition, the very picture of Adam Robitela resembles a mixture of Designer and Alice in Wonderland, seriously, a white rabbit was missing! And since it's not Jason Bloom who's producing, and there's no discrimination against African Americans like in Get Out, I think he deserves us to contribute to this piece. Nice swing, for an unexpected follow-up.
Atmospheric, very impressive horror film, telling us one thing: do not see free money, and especially strange messages in cubes, easier to sit at home or go to Christmas relatives of a friend.
Hey, everybody! This is my first review, so the text will be a bit, so I do not know how to write, as experienced critics.
My friends invited me to the cinema yesterday, the choice between films was small, I had to go to this film. I saw the trailer before and wasn’t thrilled, but I took a chance to watch it. I'll try to get the point straight.
Plot - nothing new, strangers meet at the point 'A' between them there is something in common that they themselves do not know yet. Passing quests, they begin to understand that they got into the game not by chance.
Character motivation - as usual it is money, who wins the quest will receive a cash prize.
Characters - 6 people and that's a lot! Given that some do not affect the plot, as if created as an extra.
Quests - for the viewer do not carry any load, you will not be given the opportunity to try to solve the puzzle, since the operator does not particularly concentrate on the details. More often we will see close-ups of actors. Although still in some moments you can guess some leads. In general, the load on the viewer’s brain is very weak.
The ending is predictable for me, not surprising.
Escape Room - first reminded me of the film 'Saw'. John Kramer's quests were much more interesting! (1-3 parts of the film). And yet, in general, the film looks quite good, there is something to see under the popcorn with Pepsi in the company of friends. You can go to the movies, but do not expect anything cool from this film.

We will never be happy in games created by others. – Vadim Demchog
I'm not sure if I'll ever go play the room quest again or 'Escape room'...
My first review, so do not strictly judge, and I will try hard without spoilers, but here it will be.
So, for starters - Russian localizers as always ' tried ' and translated 'Escape room' as 'Claustrophobes' well, I don't know how it will be in Russian in the cinema, but in fact it was about 10 000 dollars (and maybe I got not the most direct translation). Opening the page with the film (the same one that you are now reading this ' review') and watching the trailer (I am very glad that I did it after watching the film) you can catch a glimpse of this thing - 10 million wins, and 10 million was the budget of the film. Here at the time to be upset, because be such ' game' in real life, the whole budget went to the draw, and we would get the average or frank ' slag' but... not this time* (not this time).
So, 6 people, the quest room, which at first seems like fun and just a cool adventure, and eventually becomes a survival game.
I will try on the points:
* Traps in the best traditions 'Saws' and 'Collector' (now I even thought about 'CUB'). Those who love spectacles - appreciate tricks, those who love riddles and puzzles (like me, for example) - will along with the main characters guess them. Yes, I have enjoyed (if I may say so) the way things were thought out and done.
The connection of the heroes, their disclosure as characters.
I really liked that there was no #39; passable' characters - each hero was given time to tell his story. Someone who is afraid of fire, someone freezes, someone thinks that he already knows everything (for which he will also have to pay), etc. When, being in one of the rooms, the characters find out what connects them and why they are here - played perfectly.
*Special effects
Yes, there are no flying dragons or superheroes, but on the big screen to find fault with what, they say, ' I do not believe' - this feeling was not. You feel the heat, the cold, or as the floor goes from under your feet.
*Final.
Thank you for the finale, first of all, because it seemed to me that the film would end now and that’s it, but it wasn’t here that it was and remained a very pleasant aftertaste.
and two. That's the kind of ending I love. It's like, you know, in Robate Stein's books, when we're kids/teens reading 'horror stories'
***A nice reference in my head also happened to 'The Cabin in the Woods' - here without details, it is better to look and find this connection yourself.
As a result, no, this is not something supernova, but it is a beautifully served old with a very pleasant picture, with empathy for the heroes, not tensing (and therefore harmonious) soundtrack and almost to the very end there was a certain & #39; Wow!' effect.
This film will dilute the atmosphere in January. I didn’t expect anything from the movie, but I didn’t spare a second. Fans of thrillers (especially those I mentioned above) - definitely go - get almost 100 minutes of fun.
A little bit ahead of time, but...
