Female vampire cat goes from the early 20th to the 21st century.

A remake of the remake is almost. There are three projects: this 2022, the other 1996 and the original as it were 1915 (perhaps you should look at these works in chronological order, if you do not break and have the opportunity). The director of our series shot the 1996 movie, he even got married (and already divorced) with the main actress of that film - a reference to this is in the series itself. But back to the series.
We're in Europe. According to the plot of 2022, we shoot a mini-series remake on the movie of 1915, the plot of the latter is described in the encyclopedia as follows:
Paris is in the grip of terror, against which the police are powerless. A criminal organization known as the Vampires commits pogroms, murders, robberies, kidnappings. Their actions are distinguished by accuracy and audacity. Nothing is known about the gang of villains except that they are led by the Great Vampire and his seductive partner, Irma Vep. Journalist Philippe Gherand, investigating the murder of a government official, attacks the trail of the vampires. Thus begins his long cause, through which he wants to rid Paris of this scourge. The musician plays a mysterious seducer thief who constantly appears in secular circles, but in fact is one of the dangerous members of the gang. Her character appeared on the screen in the form of a social beauty, singer, telephone operator, maid, etc.
So we're shooting a series inside a real series. At the same time, we are also shown excerpts from the project of 1915 (plus it also shows scenes based on the memoirs of the main actress of the old movie). Additional moments from the 1996 movie showed. And it's all really tedious. It's not all that matters. And most importantly, what remains behind the scenes of filming the series inside the series: the lives of the actors and the crew.
We have a main actress who enjoys a frivolous life or something. She's high, and not just her. The director is some crazy guy running around. There is something wrong with him because he can’t even get insurance. The series itself is not so rosy, as the producer wants to save money on everything. And here it is not clear what really should catch the viewer. The plot is so, although unusual, even European locations are not really shown, only briefly. What are you looking at? Nothing. Although beautiful girls flash.
Maybe it’s a movie about love, no matter how banal it may be. Here the director reflects on his ex (through this and the real director of our series does this), and the main character understands his love affairs ... and we, the audience, looking at all this, remember their love past.
Yes, this earthly short love, earthly, soulful, usually so much pain. I understand you.
The series also explores the problems of living in the role of actors and actresses, director’s concerns about the production. Perhaps this is also indirectly shown by the otherworldly possibilities of the main character. Comparison of old and new cinema makes it clear what difficulties actors of the past faced, and how easy and safe it is today.
Black-and-white film of the early 20s of the XX century Louis Fayad ' Vampires' at the heart of the narrative and conditional remake of it in modern realities, through virtually a century, half the film in French, half in English, the whole process of organizing c' Capture in 8 episodes, film director - introvert! with schizophrenia and obscession, in parallel with c' visiting psychoanalytics - fantastic work! - incredible, multifaceted, acting; Ias a Frenchman - up; Ias a beautiful actor on Berlin, #39; he was born! I heard Rainer Werner Fassbinder was a fan, too. I used to jerk off to Sue Ellen, she was too hot but I would've love to fuck Bobby Ewing, too'
Very good Mrs. Fussy (who, by the way, is also half German and was born in Heidelberg) Alicia Vikander (Mira) - small, graceful as a teenager, very thin, a movie star, suffering from the fact that she was abandoned very! beautiful but bitchy girlfriend - a former assistant, so her whole life - shooting away from Los Angeles, in a strange movie series, between the set and a marvelous Paris hotel, another assistant - smart and a future director, not so confident that they also work in harmony with the former star, so they are always in the picture of the road, and the old man, so they work for the first time, as well as a new star, for the star, as well as a new star.
A rare series, especially for film lovers, intellectuals and those who know or at least realize how complex, muddy and exhausting the process of any filmmaking, with constant speculation about whether the series is art and how you can link the emotional anguish in real life and the experiences of heroes, high drama and comics, farce and tears, mysticism and everyday life. A lot of bright, young and talented European actors and an obvious understanding of the whole cast/crew why they need it all, because the skin feels like they all enjoy the process. Bravo!
P.S. Olivier Assays, director, former film critic, continues the traditions started by J.-L. Godard and F. Truffaut, in the series this is manifested and blooms with a lush color. Therefore, clumsy dialogues, banal moves and kisses in the diaphragm to wait for ' Irma Vep' not worth it. But don't wait for Godard and Truffaut either. But the flores of the two grandees of French neorealism in ' Irma Vep' abound.
A series about how a film is made based on another film and another, shot later. Cherry - the basis of the first film of the first half of the XX century - also a book. That's the cabbage.
Despite all this seemingly absurd, this principle is based on popular ideas of the French philosophical school of the mid-twentieth century. And, perhaps, for the first time, they were reflected in such a complex from the point of view of production art form as cinema.
The main plot is pure noir with the main vampire, his passion, journalists and other people who revolve around. There’s nothing original here, and it’s totally normal – it’s just not about the plot. Very interestingly revealed secondary characters - the same director, film crew, mistress of the main character and her husband-director.
Another layer of the plot is a lesbian relationship and a total mix of heterosexual and homosexual love. However, this is not emphasized, the director does not brag about it - just an interesting move.
Excellent selection of actors with a monumental star in the face of fragile Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) and some unearthly and slightly comic Lars Eidinger (Personal Shopper).
In my opinion, it is a work of art. You may like it or not, but there was simply no such thing in the serial space, as there was practically no such thing in the big movie. This is a future textbook for directors and film lovers, screenwriters and others.
Irma the Vep Ghost Wandering in Search of a Master
And now imagine that we are inside a glass ball, where very real events take place, because this is a film about the shooting of a film about a movie.
Difficult Alicia Vikander (“From the machine”) simply can not choose a simple project, and the thoughtless restart of the single-celled “Lara Croft” with such a complex personality will remain on the conscience of producers who lost a hundred million on it.
Fussy met her on the set of “Light in the ocean”, I accidentally watched “Pure” and it is with him that I advise you to start recognizing her: there no one tried to drive her into the frames, and looking back, I understand that it would not work.
Catwoman existed long before comics, and gently walked on the roofs of Paris began in 1915, in the era of silent cinema.
It was through love for him that this unusual project was born, shot in different languages, blurring the boundaries of cultures, connecting reality and sleep, normality and madness, past and present.
Don’t read the comments: HBO and A24 always know what they’re doing, and unless the warm Parisian hop breeze blows at you by the seventh episode, you’re not yet up to the psychedelic eclecticism of elite decadence that will one day prick you with its poisonous sting of thirst for true freedom of expression, forever depriving you of the desire to be the same.
Irma Vep is a multi-part film about cinema for those who love movies.
The plot in the series is as follows: a popular actress decides to leave American cinema for a while, and with it, profitable blockbusters. Firmly set to shake himself up, Mira departs for Paris to shoot a specific serial film based on the black and white classics of the early 20th century, presciently called the anagram ' Irma Vep'.
Further delve into the details and nuances of the plot of the series do not want, and, it seems, not necessary. In fact, we want to talk about ' Irma Vep' I want to talk about the extraordinary and unique approach of the creators of the series to the source material.
First of all, ' Irma Vep' will be an invaluable treasure trove for those who adore and cherish the art of cinema, because here you will be given the prospect of an eccentric director obsessed with his idea, will give you the opportunity to look at the inner creative process through the eyes of an actress who has experienced a crisis both moral and creative. Add to this dissatisfied with the director sponsors, always interfering in the filming; a woman costumer who climbs out of her skin to stay on budget; an outrageous actor-addict who does not care about himself and everyone around. And as the cherry on the cake of colorful and charismatic characters, you will be offered the precarious position of Mira on the love front between the former and the former, to which a caring young assistant is added. And this exhilarating and extravagant mix of characters blazes and rages at the heart of this extraordinary series.
With characters like sorted out, now let’s move on to the implementation of the conceived idea, namely: an attempt to make a series about attempts to make a series that interprets the classics in a modern way – with sound and color, but the story proposed by the original, while remaining almost untouched.
Everything's fine here. When watching, the viewer literally plunges into several dimensions - a black and white silent original, a modern series being shot, the filming process of this series based on reality, from the position of which we look at this perfect atypical work. And all of these aspects of the show intertwine and connect and overlap at the most unexpected moment. The original film can easily flow into a modern series, which is constantly interrupted by the director himself, then the actors themselves with their remarks.
Everything here is just like in life, so be prepared to listen to the fears of sponsors about the mental balance of the director, proposals for a profitable deal for the actress to play the role of the Silver Surfer (!) instead of participating in an extremely isolated and dubious series, journalists’ questions about the career of a promising actress and, of course, rumors and speculations of the yellow press about the life of our main character.
Not superfluous, I think, will note the acting work of the irresistible Alicia Vikander, who embodied the role of Mira, and the magnificent Vincent Maken, who played a nervous melancholic director.
Alicia here is sweet and charming beyond all possibility. She seems so cozy and homely that sometimes you forget that you are watching the life of a fake actress. Alicia dissolves in the role of Mira and impeccably conveys to the viewer her experiences, secret desires, restlessness and general lack of understanding of what she should do with her life.
Vincent Macken plunges into the role of an unstable visionary director with his head. He shouts, trembles, fights with actors who are not in his own way and rudes them in every way, but at the same time manages to listen to them and appease them. Like Alicia, he feels his character completely. But here certainly did not do without the help of the showrunner of the series, on the basis of which the character of a wayward director is built.
'Irma Vep' is a special and extraordinary series that requires you to give yourself to him without a trace and plunge into events that balance on the edge of reality, but are not her. It is in a sense the quintessence and essence of cinematic art to make the viewer forget that what is happening on the screen is unreal. And the creators of the serial film manage to do this trick many times and without any difficulty.
From what rubbish do poems grow without knowing shame
- I have some bad news for you. I’m always unhappy. – says the director, looking at her thick beard Alicia Vikander, which in “Irma Vep” will have to play the sinister muse.
He takes antidepressants, quoting Leonard Cohen: "I live on pills." For which I thank God.” However, for some reason, he reported this to the insurance, because of which the shooting rose in price and generally under threat.
It immediately feels like the process will be fun. A remake of a silent series about vampires is something sacred for a sinophile director. There should be no additional sexual episodes that reveal the feelings of the characters (now it is a pure routine, no embarrassment, all will be thought out by the coordinators of intimate scenes), actors should think about creativity, not flirtatious, waiting for a masterpiece.
It is noteworthy that ' Irma Vep' is also a remake of her own film Assayas in 1996.
Alicia Vikander plays Hollywood star Mira, who will have to work on herself to get used to the role. I haven’t seen any superhero movies with her. Oh, those arrogant Frenchmen!
A great series about the behind the scenes of filmmaking and the eternal debate of European intellectuals about art. So is the series content or the big movie? .
