The appearance on the screen every two years of the team "The Expendables" has become a good and glorious tradition. The restless “old men” shake old muscles with youthful enthusiasm and former fuse, and the atmosphere of an entertaining action movie creates a very nostalgic mood for the times when there was a cult of the body of movie heroes and many dreamed of being like Arnie or Sly. The third coming of the old guard of Hollywood by default caused a laugh, they say, it will be a circus, but anyway! Stallone and Co made without the slightest doubt the best part of the cult franchise, where there was time to fully reveal all the characters, and at the same time captivate the events.
Rarely clear plot catches and keeps at the screen. In fact, before us is the story of the confrontation between two leaders - the heroes Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson. The fight between them is fierce and uncompromising. The new villain has never come out chic - the wild and ferocious head of the crime syndicate is ready to explode at every second, issuing at once brutish verbal cuts to his opponents. The contrast with Stallone's losing self-confidence character is further intensified when the team of "expendables" disband. Within the genre, the plot intrigue in combination with a compact and rich timekeeping looks excellent.
The participation of legendary actors is, of course, the main reason why they go to the Expendables. One look at the poster, where you read the composition of the participants in a rush, boiling adrenaline. Stallone, Statham, Gibson, Ford, Banderas, Snipes, Lundgren, Schwarzenegger – can’t believe they’re back together. Let the years take their toll, and Arnold no longer rattles his biceps, and his chin is covered with gray bristles, and Sylvester becomes quite square on his face and his mouth curls less and less, and Mel's face is dotted with deep wrinkles, old Dolph darkened. But when they take guns, the years disappear and with childish delight you admire the ageless heroes. Absolutely chic in the painting by Antonio Banderas - the hot Spaniard is simply stunning in the image of an out of proportion talkative Galgo.
In terms of action, the film will argue with many new products of rental this summer, and in the dispute the demonstration of real tricks without computer graphics is the leader among the militants of recent years. Here, the series of events is growing with dizzying speed, starting with the pursuit of an armored train and ending with a grinding meat grinder on the skeletons of a multi-storey building with an entire army of an African dictator. And they give themselves to each of the star constellations. Statham and Snipes' sarcastic pranks stand out.
It is gratifying that director Patrick Hughes and screenwriter Sylvester Stallone approached the third part of The Expendables with maximum attention and love, and most importantly a strong desire to make a really cool male movie. May God live this series for more than one year, because we so often lack the enthusiasm and real adrenaline that the militants gave in the early 90s. Hello, albeit aged, but still young soul adored artists.
Sylvester Stallone is 68, what kind of Dumbledore would you be to conjure such steel eggs? He was shot more than his entire team combined. But he was cheerful, after serious injuries, fights with a universal soldier and Brave Heart, still managed to jump to the helicopter. Forgive me, but it seems to me that such a Barney (in our country this name is associated with a chocolate bear) should not do any trifling tasks with stealing atomic bombs, but immediately send to Afghanistan. He's gonna kill everyone with one finger. The war is over, and the glory of God is upon him. In short, he uses his bounty strengths incorrectly.
Mel Gibson's 58, he's gonna put ten in his crazy eyes. Oh, young, and you're not ashamed to let old men fight, steal bombs and blow up everything? The Patriot of 1956 has a lot to offer. Old age may not be joy, but youth is not life, as they say. Anyway, I wish Mel Gibson no melting, no burning, no messing with Stallone. He's from another neighborhood, bro.
Jason Statham, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas. Three really cool guys. I love them. They've got sarcasm, at least. Making fun of each other during the tipping point is what they can do. But especially I would like to highlight Banderas' character, Galgo, who I really liked. Yes, he is overly chatty, but he is also charming and professional. “Killing people is all I know,” he shouted after Stallone. And behind the mask of a positive, annoying Brutal, there is only a soldier who lost his friends in battle.
I have nothing to say to the young. They are not as interesting as the characters themselves. Why they were in the movie is not clear. I don’t know them, and seeing the heroes of my childhood next to some children is not the most spectacular. What's the girl for? Not only is she a completely unnecessary character, Banderas was forced to flirt with her. Right during a vital battle.
In general, the film has no special plot, despite the fact that it is filled with grenades and cannons, except for shooting and jokes, there seems to be nothing else present. The whole movie thundered with explosions and screams, so there is also a dude from the Old Spice commercial. Three words: action, action, action. It's funny, I think the boys will like it.

After watching the movie “The Expendables 3” there were mixed feelings. I will immediately say that I did not expect any definite meaning or logic from the plot, so in this aspect the expectations were quite justified. He is fabulously stupid, but this is probably his charm - it turned out to be a kind of fairy tale about cool men fighting with spherical villains in a vacuum, who, like in a computer game, go out to grab a hero in hand-to-hand, and not sit down and go away like Fantomas. In general, there are so many blunders in the film that it makes no sense to list them - the whole film is made of them, you do not even need to give yourself the trouble to find them.
As for the acting, then it seems that everything is normal, if we talk about the backbone of the "Expendables" - the old heroes in general behave as before and reveal their characters was not particularly necessary. Another thing is new heroes. Slightly embarrassed by the sky-high coolness and recklessness of Wesley Snipes, and the clown habits of Banderas made him clutch his head. It seems that he played not a super-duper mercenary and a hellish hit man, but a cat in boots from Shrek. In short, I couldn’t change my role in time. Young heroes I do not remember, except, of course, Ronda Rousey, known to all lovers of martial arts, plus is the only female character in this code of dogs of war. However, she did not show anything supernatural from the world of wrestling and fist fights in the frame, and her acting, as well as her unearthly beauty (so forgive me her fans), is a controversial issue. If she wasn’t already famous, no one would remember her. My opinion is that it makes no sense to take on the role of an Olympic-level athlete if the actors in the frame show fights not worse, and with their main work cope much better.
In general, the film turned out to be just funny - everything explodes, bangs, in the frame of harsh faces, fire, chases and shootouts, skulls, guns, steep knives - just a kaleidoscope of brutal buns. There's a movie ride coming out. Tired for a week at work? - Go and see, you will unload your brains and laugh. Lovers of art house and intellectual psychological dramas - to stay at home.

Hey, everybody! It’s been another movie week, which means it’s time to talk about a new movie. This time it's the action movie Expendables 3. We don’t want to talk much about this film, because everyone knows that if we are talking about the irrepressible actors of the beloved fighters, then a huge number of explosions, shooting and mind-blowing tricks are guaranteed! But is everything so perfect in The Expendables 3?
The cast has undergone some changes. Apparently, we had to look for a replacement for famous actors who refused to act, and in fact we could see such action stars as Jack Chan, Mickey Rourke, Steven Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme and even Hulk Hogan. Unfortunately, the star cast is not as large as we would like, in addition, in “The Expendables 3” were invited and completely unknown actors who were to play a new team Stallone. For some of them, "The Expendables 3" was the first film of his career!
In my opinion, the idea has already outlived itself. Yes, brave guys with big guns look spectacular, but still about some plot is worth thinking, and simple dialogues do not cause anything but a smile. The film even sees the drama, such habits on a strong plot, but they make the film even more funny. This time, the filmmakers decided to lower the rating to attract a wider audience. In my opinion, such relaxations only spoiled the film, in which there are no “meat” scenes, and all murders are shown only at a distance, since the existing rating does not allow to show blood on the screen.
Yes, the first “Expendables” looked great, a kind of breath of brutality in modern cinema, the second were perceived exclusively with an eye on the first, and the final part turned out to be secondary (although, perhaps, not the last). The character of Antonio Banderas, who does not harmonize with the image of the eternal macho, who has been cultivating Banderas for so long in his film career, is somewhat relieved.
I was pleased with the participation in the project of Mel Gibson, but, unfortunately, the screen time allocated for him is clearly not enough for Mel to unfold as an actor, and all his villainy is mainly described by the words of the hero Stallone. But for one scene I want to say a special thank you, namely for the one where the hero of Wesley Snipes, who was so selflessly saved by the “expendables”, explained why he spent eight years in prison. People who follow the lives of actors will understand the humor.
For Internet users, it is no secret that a very good copy of the film hit the Network three weeks before the official start, and ratings on popular film portals have already been exhibited. Honestly, they are not happy, although, given everything said above, the result is quite expected.
In the case of a new return of old people, it is worth noting that nostalgia gradually began to let go. Well, Stallone, but recently, it would seem, fought De Niro in the “Shock Rematch”, well, Schwarzenegger, has not yet weathered his failed “Sabotage” from his head. Well, together they, and again saw how they both built the “Escape Plan”, the characters flash on the screen, from this so trembling feeling that it was from the first part went irrevocably. But on the other hand, Expendables 3 is really positioned as one of the best action films of the year, well, summer so for sure. Not taking into account fiction like “Guardians of the Galaxy”, and “Edge of the Future”. After all, remember whether you have seen many half-hour scenes with your favorite actors in a year, when they are powerful and relatively picturesque, but still powerfully resist the whole army. Apart from Raid 2, there is almost nothing to remember.
What do viewers mostly complain about after watching The Expendables? A monotonous, boring, predictable plot. Well, here everyone has their own, then such viewers should terribly dislike the so-called “era of militants 80-90s”, and should not go to such, because, except for the icons of the genre, such as “Terminator”, “Universal Soldier”, and “Lethal Weapon” exclusive little. The other fighters also repeated each other structurally. Absolutely it is necessary to agree, “Expendables” are very monotonous, similar to each other, but boring, but not especially. The main feature, pulling up in the project an increasing number of actors who have ever engaged in murder on the screen. And it always burns out, the constant demonstration of coolness, power, sharp banters, sharp phrases, the clumsy format of militants, only with an abundance of heroes who keep their images in the version that should be in the declared genre.
In general, do not succumb to the general wave of opinions, do not shout ahead of time that Stallone, or Schwarzenegger is not the same. Retirement actors are not yet time, they will please us. In the film you can find a decent action, and you can get carried away with the plot that built a shaky platform for the final battle, and you can find a cool humor that always accompanies the militants, in this part, the object for clowning Antonio Banderas, so wait for it. “The Expendables” did not give up, they remained at the same level, and will hold on to it as long as there is a spectator ready to look at these courageous faces and enjoy their stupid shootouts, at least once every two years.

What fans, raised on the classic dashing hollow action movies of the 80s and 90s, were waiting with trepidation, finally happened, and in 2010, a team of Expendables, led by an action icon and, let’s say, not the worst screenwriter and director Sylvester Stallone, collapsed on them. It was a raucous attraction-homage to the good old fighters of the past, with all the necessary and unnecessary components, including a 4-kopeck plot, 100% adrenaline and the most important factor in the whole undertaking of such a film - the union gathering of nostalgic action heroes. The relatively warm reception of critics and the public, good fees for the R rating, tears of tenderness from the Holy Trinity, finally met in one shot - all shamelessly hinted at a continuation.
2012. When the Mayans predicted the End of All That Is, for this year, they clearly did not expect anyone to stand up for humanity. The second group outing of the Hollywood Veterans with an already impressive lineup of stars of varying degrees of success was complemented by a grandiose pair of sniffers and shit-beaters of the past days, namely Jean-Claude "Absolutely idle in life twine jump" Van Damme and Chuck "The Walking Internet Meme" Norris. In my purely personal view, the sequel to a few severed heads surpassed the original. The slightest bit of seriousness was out of the question, in connection with which the second attack of slightly rusted heroes became an ideal entertainment.
And now, through an offensive penetration into the expanses of the Internet, with open arms we meet a triquel, the expectation of which brought quite real physical pain from impatience. In a new chapter of adventure, a familiar team of bouncers is opposed not by the licked brother of a much more successful sister Roberts, and not even the film karate, unexpectedly confidently performing the negative part of Van Damme, but by Mel “Anti-Semite, racist and just a bright personality” Gibson. Despite a career buried alive, old Riggs did not lose even a grain of charisma, acting out an excellent, albeit cliched in all places, villain. Frankly, he is the main trump card of the picture, since the expectations, at least mine, “The Expendables 3” did not live up to.
All this sweaty explosion of testosterone started as a project, the main focus of which was nostalgia and crispy-blood-lead action, which degenerates bewilderment from the abundant presence of “young blood” in the frame, which gave a lot of timekeeping. Everyone came to terms with the five-minute appearance of Thor Jr. in the previous part, as clearly gravitating to kicking, Jean-Claude, kicked him the blade on the tomatoes, almost at the beginning of the film. In the new film, the unremarkable faces of young people flash throughout the picture, and Barney Ross’ break with the old team will be pulled by the ears. The cheerful opening presented a good episode-benefit of Wesley Snipes, ironizing over himself, which foreshadowed the cheerful rash inherent in the sequel. However, with the wound of the black thug went poorly accommodating nonsense, the rainbow moments of which were all the same Gibson, Snipes and crooked about and without Banderas. The latter, by the way, broke a fever and staged the wildest clowning since the appearance, which, nevertheless, was much more pleasant to look at than any shot with the freshly baked Worst Hercules in the history of Kellan Lutz, desperately flaunting false brutality.
What about the core of the Dream Team of any 90s action movie? Here's the weirdness of the weirdness again. Wesley Snipes was made the fiftieth left character, Harrison Ford stood confidently in the frame, in general, doing nothing, and Arnold the Great shot less than in Kindergarten Policeman. Technically dumped in the tenth minute of the second film, Jet Lee is not that he did not participate in the action bindings of the third, he just appeared on the screen with weapons, which for the master of martial arts in the action movie, at least inexcusable and strange, as if Meryl Streep in the middle of the family drama began to mow everyone from the machine gun.
Was there a lot of lamentation to Stallone and Van Damme's final muzzle? We take the complaint books and fill out the forms with dense text, because Barney Ross’ fight with the antagonist Gibson came out much more depressing. It can generally be missed in the film, if you distract yourself from yawning – the duration of the final fight ranges from “I didn’t understand, is this all?” to “Why so little?”
Overall, the triquel is frankly weaker than the first two parts. In terms of action, hand-to-hand combat, shootouts and even (I did not expect that I would say this about this franchise!) in terms of the storyline. The eye rejoices, exclusively, thanks to the iconic figures of cinema, which are simply pleasant to see together.
After releasing an old friend of Doctor Death (Wesley Snipes) from prison, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and his team embark on another mission. A mission that seemed very simple, but did not go smoothly. Unexpectedly, Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) is involved in it, one of the founders of the Expendables, who retrained as a supplier of weapons for criminal organizations. The group suffers losses, and Ross, of course, promises revenge. He is recruiting a new team of young fighters, but without veterans, of course, they cannot cope.
When Sylvester Stallone pitched the idea of making The Expendables, many laughed. Schwartz, Sly, Lundgren? Yes, these guys have long become artifacts that on their (even if broad) shoulders are not able to pull a decent project. Stallone smiled crookedly - no one will turn the tongue to call the first film of the franchise an event in cinema, but he collected his half a million at the box office. It didn’t make any sense to stop – familiar names from childhood lured people to the cinema like the sugar of ants. It doesn’t matter what was behind the sign.
The creators of the series managed to pull off a rather tricky trick - to force a mass audience to go to a movie, which, in fact, was oriented for video output. What distinguishes the Expendables from the many Category B fighters? First of all, actors. Legends of the VHS era. Dinosaurs who managed to survive the cataclysms that forever changed the face of box office cinema.
Wesley Snipes is from this campaign, even with Stallone. Mel Gibson is now seeking to position himself as an independent director, but Lethal Weapon has not been cancelled. Antonio Banderas is a seemingly alien character, a favorite of Pedro Almadovar, who has repeatedly tried on provocative images. But, on the other hand, this is Zorro - no less thrashing character than, say, the heroes of Jason Statham.
Speaking about the third part of “The Expendables”, we have to focus on castes, because in terms of narrative, absolutely nothing changes. All the same, faceless military bases are collapsing, tanks and helicopters are exploding, the “bad guys” are dying in hundreds, and Rossi and the company, without strain, crush the thugs right and left. What does Snipes add to this? A couple of parkour scenes by his understudy and a tax joke. Banderas? A comedy element that only works in moments. Harrison Ford? Another older person.
Trying to pour fresh blood into a boiling pot, frankly, does not work. The young "Expendables" led by Kellan Lutz only confirm the theory that the real heroes of the militants are in the past. The clash of generations, where all, in general, are good guys, but with different approaches to the matter, is spelled out so superficially that it does not really get a demonstration. "Old man, look at my life - I'm a lot like you," the youth sings in the final scene. Wherever there is - Sly cleans everyone with just a grin.
The film by Patrick Hughes (the young director, by the way, did not spoil the porridge) functions according to the well-trodden scheme of the franchise, and to be offended by the lack of deeply written characters and drama is fundamentally wrong. Disadvantages can be emphasized, but not reproached – after all, this is a movie about how the good guys punish the bad. Without a second thought.
I will begin my review with the thought that ended the review for the second film in the series. Franchise, categorically, need to solve problems with the script. For the third time, we are shown the same thing. Well, just changing the location and the villain. I hate to say that, but the picture is very weak. Weak, in many ways. When I left the theater, I felt like I was being cheated. It's natural. It looks like a fake involving my favorite action stars. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. In order.
In fact, I understand very well that Patrick Hughes has very little experience for such projects. I saw him at Red Hill. Not a bad movie, basically. I wish it was the first movie in the series. But after the first two, which are stronger at times, this one just does not look. Strange that Stallone didn't keep an eye on work. Or does he no longer care? Did everything fall into a banal pursuit of profit? We'll answer ourselves. I think I think the best part is the first. This is a really powerful, brutal, old-school action movie. With superb action. Think back to the last thirty minutes. The second came out strong spectacle, but "overgrown" some pop. What, my friends, is going on in the third? You can't write everything. I'll be brief. Barney, like an old nerd, disbands the Expendables when he encounters a sworn enemy (in the past, a partner). Right there, picking up the young. Stop. Who are these guys? What are they doing here? More - less interesting hero, oddly enough, turned out in Lats. At least he has a faint inner world. How could you make such a cheap one with Snipes and Statham, who are actually very good at fighting? Instead, the first one fades into the background, and the second one is forced to lie down on the couch and watch cooking shows. I will say that the troubles do not end there. A lot of people don’t play at all. They make pathetic faces and the same type of grimaces. The drama became blurry, completely faked. From Banderas made a clown, which, indeed, more annoying than uplifting. And finally, Mel Gibson. He was good. But he wasn't given a run. For the final fight of Sly and Gibson, in general, I want to tear off my hands. What was that? No, seriously. I was waiting for a good batter and a showdown. And I got a two-minute puff, by the way, badly shot. What else can I add? Jokes have lost all charm and male fortress. Schwarzenegger looks like his grandfather. Again, the time was criminally short. The very old Ford looked dull. He obviously didn't make it to the Temple. Medium-level operations. She's not bad. Nope. It's just, there was really nothing to show. There's a ten-minute, one-of-a-kind action episode at the beginning, and also a dynamic ending. But there, too, it's messed up properly. Why? I will. There were no worthy opponents to Snipes, Statham. And those fights that were, did not cause delight. Remember, for example, the hand-to-hand fight of Statham with Adkins, or Sly with Van Damme. That was cool. The good old-fashioned theme of music may have made blood play, but it didn’t save the situation. And even, the signature knocking of Barney and Christmas fists did not cause delight. The wrong place and time, probably.
Summing up my brief review, I’m almost unimpressed. Should I go to the movies? I honestly don't know. We all love these guys. Undoubtedly. Someone, now, blows his nostrils and criticizes the author. Like, nostalgia and all. I'll say that. When a child was promised a bicycle, and bought a toy car, he, of course, will not be very pleased. It seemed like a gift, but it was not what the soul wanted. Also, with the third "Unstoppables". They gathered for the third time, fashioned a mediocre militant and prepared to cut the cash register. And if, in this unpretentious project, there were no militant legends that I respect, I would give a very low rating. Of course, I was happy to see Wesley, who didn’t lose his form, appreciated Mel’s efforts, and supported the others. I'll give you six points. But the fact is, that won't change. This is the worst part of The Expendables. If there is a fourth film (and it will probably be), I sincerely hope that there will be a change of director and, finally, a worthwhile script will be written. I won't scold Hughes. It's too early for this director to make such projects. And yes. You don't need any. At least not like that. This is a waste of the already modest, timekeeping tape. And no kid ratings. Don't let us down anymore, old people.

The Expendables triquel throws us into a new abyss of adventure, this time with a new purpose and team renewal. Now Barney Ross has to face a past that doesn’t want to be buried underground. To go to battle with the past, Barney completely renews the team, because he realizes that he does not want to risk friends, since the task is a one hundred percent suicide path. But beginners are not so hopeless, and old fighters are not ready to give up so easily.
"The Expendables" is the case when you realize how sometimes you want nostalgia for the action films of the golden era of the 80s and 90s. And at the same time to see that dear to the heart of action-heroes (the age of some has already exceeded 50, and even 60) are not the same as before, but can do something else. And for them - an opportunity to shake the old days and earn money.
However, the third part shows us that Stallone is slowly exhaling the fuse. The plot and before did not shine originality, but here went just frank stamping. Taken a worn-out theme – the clash of people of the old formation and the new generation. There are jokes on this topic, numerous hamstrings and moves brought under it. Again, the “greater – tougher – cooler” scheme. The picture, by and large, leaves only due to an increasingly expanded caste. The characters, both new and old, are not revealed. Just cannon fodder, which has enough brains and bullets to shoot back from numerous enemies. However, the villain played by Mel Gibson was above all praise, it is difficult to argue.
As for the action, it has become even more. If in the second part it was up to fig and more, then the third will be an adrenaline overdose for you. There will be more explosions, shootings and chases than you would like. But their performance leaves much to be desired. Stallone has said many times that he wants to use computer special effects to a minimum, but I was sure that the statement was about quantity, not quality. The negligence of drawing effects (especially explosions) is visible to the naked eye and cannot but affect the overall perception.
Overall, it’s not a bad movie, I spent an hour and a half of my time in a relaxed atmosphere watching the battles on the screen. Oldschool vs. know-how has always been interesting, not to mention the action genre. Again, on the collections (even despite the leak of the film to the network), one thing will become clear: only together the Expendables are a force. For the new films with old heroes have shown how far Americans are from nostalgic for individuals. So the fourth part is inevitable. Do you think the new cast will fit on the standard poster or will you have to use the landscape orientation?
An average action movie with well-known faces, cool battle scenes and the simplest plot for switching to a disconnected brain and relaxed atmosphere. Old school rules, know-how pours in and beeple goes to the movies.
6.5 out of 10
Frankly, “The Expendables”, and the first, and subsequent sequel and triquel, for obvious reasons, were originally designed for a narrowed circle of viewers. It is unlikely that teenagers who grew up on Bay’s Transformers and Jackson’s King Kong could appreciate the very fact of the presence of all these people in the frame, the dialogue about excess weight between Schwarzenegger and Stallone, old-school directing, where the plot does not play any role at all. And watching Rourke and Statham throw knives was more interesting than watching a military conflict on a formally occupied, evil Roberts island. Two years later, the same thing happened, only with a slightly more elaborately staged action, and with not as an example of more idiotic wits – Chuck Norris joked about the fact that he is Chuck Norris (Only Chuck Norris has the right to joke about Chuck Norris for life). So: the initial episode on the rescue of the ex-Governor of California in the end is best of all that shot another mercenary Patrick Hughes, who prefers to manage the budget according to the Mikhalkovo method.
This time in the prologue rescued recently reclining Wesley Snipes, trying to pretend to be “dad” and strives to look as cool as Norrington fifteen years ago. Except for the first five minutes and the tax joke, it didn’t work. Next, Barney Ross escorts the old man out of the team, and picks up green growth so that there is someone to save in the second half of the timekeeping. And to "from whom" - to replace Van Damme comes sad Mel Gibson (of course, not from the good life), looking, nevertheless, the most capable in the film. The background clumsily curves Banderas, the iron Arnie is torn aside and does not know where to go, Harrison Ford diligently portrays himself as Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren is silent.
“Sons”, which, apparently, should have taken further vacant places (but now hardly), as a pity, look even worse – including the final “battle of the titans”, developing from and to idle, and small solo performances, managed to absorb all the cliches of recent years. They mined the house, caught up in the frame of tanks, said important words - but it looks cheaper than a moth-beaten regular series. Why, perhaps, you do not need to explain - for such a vulgar action movie there is nothing worse when everything that is piled into a pile.
But the main problem is that in Hollywood, no one, or almost no one, knows how to stop in time. On the good side, the joke about “there is still gunpowder in the powderboxes” works exactly once – Stallone, the culprit of the celebration, should have understood it like no other. But whether greed, or sheep stubbornness, or became a habit. What matters now is not the cause, but the effect. This part is the most clumsy and at the same time the longest: pensioners scurry in the frame for almost two hours, preferring words to action. And the topic of conversations — not counting on duty jokes, of which almost all are not funny — there is one. “We're baked. Our time is gone, says Sylvester with the most sad expression. “No one works like this anymore,” the yellow-colored recruit confirms the disappointing conclusions. However, this is not said due to the fact that people suddenly realized that they are doing something wrong, but in order to set the viewer in advance on a sentimental way. Why, of course, you feel even more awkward, just as you did during the sight of a sixty-year-old neighbor on the landing, awkwardly flirting with a student in a tight miniskirt. “Tomorrow will be mine. Do you? - "Of course I do."
Triquel before its release promised various honors — and until there was talk about the fourth part, there were even rumors that “The Expendables 3” may be the last ensemble film for veterans of the action movie. The rumor was groundless - it had some place in the plot, but now it is already known that no one is going to retire. A significant plus of this film is very unexpected - it is very well written antagonist, so convincingly played by Mel Gibson. If in the first film there was a “villain in the palm of the hand”, in the second – a more interesting and successfully played Vilen, then in the third part the main villain turned out to be the most impressive (it is due to Gibson’s play and the efforts of the writers). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about replenishment in the ranks of the Expendables. Here, of course, played a bad joke script – half of the film the viewer is invited to watch as Barney assembles a new team – and if there is something interesting in this, it is only his dialogue with Bonaparte (a good decision to take on this role Kelsey Grammer – for Nicolas Cage is more suitable for the role of an antagonist in future parts). This trip for new meat was too long - given that the further action with their participation sags slightly, it would be easier to put Barney and Bonaparte at the monitor and search for beginners via Skype. With the fresh "expendable material", alas, a complete failure - all as one faceless and unable to play (although Glen Powell, unlike the others, does not particularly crooked) - at least some attention is still attracted by Ronda Rousey when he begins to fight mercenaries from the next "personal army". Although a little amused Antonio Banderas, whose character in manners resembles his own hero from the film “Assassins”, where he starred with Sylvester Stallone. Now, of course, it is impossible to know which of the three writers so sly (but there is a suspicion that it is Stallone), but this theme of the “family”, which became a gang of mercenaries, alas, looks frankly playful and predictable, so unnatural for such a film that involuntarily associations with the film “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over”, where in the finale everyone flew to the aid of the main characters. And although there is nothing better to think of than to lock everyone in the same building in the middle of an abandoned city and put a whole army on them, even the final action has claims. In particular, the fantastic episodes as Huey deals with two Apaches (possibly not named exact models of helicopters, but the essence is accurately reflected). In general, such a trick was admired in Rambo: First Blood Part II, where Rambo had a grenade launcher at hand - here the reason for the victory is obvious - at the helm of Harrison Ford, behind the FN MAG machine gun - Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yes, you could take it at face value if it was shot like in "Rambo: First Blood Part II" - after all, it is made with the help of simple computer graphics, which does not even pretend to be realism. In the rest, there are no claims to the final battle - the filmmakers did not stint on high-quality explosions, and hand-to-hand fights, although removed by a shaking camera, do not lose much clarity.
In The Expendables 3, there's even more talk about old age, and somewhere in the middle of the film, it seems that the age limit of PG-13, along with the young faces, and their place in the plot, is a real mockery of those who were waiting for the good old carnage to begin. A kind of necessary sacrifice for those who are trying so hard to inject young blood into action movies and bring these films closer to a younger audience. And it is possible that after the film’s treacherous leak to the Internet, producers will have someone to scold for the fact that cinemas lost the audience for which so much was done. It’s a pity — if it’s a desire to show the film to “kids” — if it doesn’t work out, Lerner and his co-workers might be wondering if it’s worth spoiling that stuff when it’s not the best. The essence has not changed – the Expendables kill hundreds of people and remain good guys for the audience. And the fact that it does not show blood is not really important. Perhaps the main thing that you will understand from watching The Expendables 3 is that the age limit is given not for something bad that is in this film, but for something bad that can be seen. This is such a stupid disregard for facts, visible measures to prevent violence in society.
The final, alas, convinced that the rating and the youth - it's not a joke, and that was the plan - and in full seriousness. So when Stallone looks like a psycho dad at the end, you know that in the future there will be no guarantee that Sylvester Stallone will call Taylor Lautner, not Mickey Rourke.

- Expendable, Expendable, Expendable! I think with such an exclamation rose fans of the heroes of Hollywood action movies four years ago, when they learned that the action saga “The Expendables” was coming out in theaters. Two years later, a sequel was released, which was even more successful than the first film, collecting more positive reviews from critics and cash revenues than its predecessor. And now it's safe to say, "The Hollywood team is still in the saddle." The third series is released, where men from an elite squad of mercenary soldiers again save the world from another terrorist threat. This time they will have to fight with Colonel Stonebanks, a former associate and founder of the team “the Expendables”, who has embarked on a path of destruction. And our guys do not change their principles and are still cheerful, cheerful and explosive, but run, jump and shoot like 20-25 years ago, in the golden era of militants. Sylvester Stallone, who recently celebrated his 68th birthday, is inimitable. He kept all the color and unbridledness of his film heroes after so much time. Being a boxer, a hero of Vietnam and the coolest guy in Hollywood, Stallone is a real treasure of a true action movie, to which he gave the brightest years of his life.
By its charge, "The Expendables-3" is not inferior to more than one film of its series. Events in it are developing just as rapidly and hurricane-like. The enemy, which is called "will not pass." Heroes fly helicopters, fire anti-aircraft guns, ride tanks and ram walls on an armored train. The art of war is even more prevalent here than in the previous film. Barney Ross and his team will bury anyone who decides to encroach on his team or betray him.
The director of the picture is a little-known Patrick Hughes of special success in the production has not yet found. I hope he will continue to develop in this genre, which I am sure will give a positive result. The involvement of Brian Tyler as a composer for the third time gave the film a positive definition. His music is becoming more and more recognizable. In the course of the film, the musical orientation of his last works in “The Furious” and “Iron Man” is constantly recalled.
In the end, we can say that we see the concept of a film product with a bias towards uniqueness, when in one film there are so many unsurpassed action actors that it is impossible to restrain the admiration. Although the characters do not grow younger from year to year, they still devote themselves entirely to acting. Rambo, Terminator, Mad Max, Han Solo, Blade and Desperate filled two hours of screen time with all their charm and spark, showing that they are still in the ranks and ready for new achievements.
The new part of the Expendables was not particularly impressed. It can not be attributed even to significant militants: in this part, the creators stingy on the visual part, and a pity. After all, the film, which does not have at least a minor plot, will be able to pull out the visual part and the play of the actors. Unfortunately, we see bad shooting, and the special effects are just terrible.
The acting isn't amazing either. Yes, stars like Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Ford and Banderos can still do a lot. But everything spoils Stalonne - he is in the frame very, very much. One gets the impression that the main task of the film is to show Stalonna. Behind all this, all the other heroes are on the second, or even third plane.
Look at how great Wesley Snipes' movie started, how great the scene with his prison sentence was, but then he's barely seen in the movie. And why in the film were present Lundgren, Schwarzenegger and Lee — generally remained unclear. Only Lundgren participates in the fighting scenes, and then not significantly. And the last two, as it seemed, in the film only for the power of the name.
A young team of irrepressibles does not reach the level of deserved stars - their characters turned out to be too faded. But again, they are here in the background, behind Stalonne.
Only Gibson plays the role of the main villain and Banderos. Here is the latter, who played a kind of parody of himself, pleased in this film more than others.
In general, this is a light action movie that you can once watch and forget about it.

The Expendables are back together. This time, Ross and his soldiers face a longtime rival, and now the old sense of revenge takes over. At the same time, the enemy is stronger than ever, and fearing that the squad will not be able to complete the task due to their age, Ross disbands the team and gathers newcomers. But soon the cunning of the enemy allows the hero to unite the forces of both the old and the new team. A new fight is coming.
The first part of “The Expendables” was a kind of nostalgic shade, a return to the VHS era, when we enthusiastically enjoyed action movies with actors no less beloved to us. The second part was slightly worse than the first film, but already carried an ironic overtones, referring to the actors. But the film was not bad, moreover, in places it was memorable first film. The third film was not shot by Stallone, but there is no fundamental difference. In any case, following the tradition of the old parts, the third film still serves as nothing more than an entertaining action movie.
The film raises an interesting question concerning the fact that the old and beloved actors have already outlived themselves, and therefore the team is diligently trying to cram newcomers, which, of course, is alarming, because the Expendables, this is primarily Stallone, Lundgrenne, Lee, Schwarzenegger, etc., and not the younger generation, but all, thank God, cost, and all the same old men once again proved that there is still gunpowder in the powder. But the plot subtext, which I mentioned above, makes you think - maybe enough?
I wouldn't say that if it weren't for one "but" - Stallone. Apparently, recoiling on the fact that he is no longer a director, Sylvester puts himself in every possible way to the forefront, as if telling the operator: “Take only and only me”, and against his background, the rest of the actors belonging to the squad (and even newcomers) look nothing more than a background – they joke among themselves, shoot, run... and that’s it. Their characters have not changed, although there are remnants of their charisma. Even Snipes, who pleased me at first, after the first half of the film becomes, like the others, a “cafe”. But Sylvester runs here and there, thinking, shooting, fighting. That's a fat minus. You may even wonder, “Why are you young?” So that Sylvester would outshine them? The answer is simple - for the plot.
Fortunately, this did not affect Banderas, whose character turned out to be a parody of the actor himself, playing cool Spaniards, fighting enemies and getting beauties (for example, Zorro), which makes him a very entertaining hero of the film, and he repeatedly makes you smile; and Gibson, who plays a negative role here, and in my opinion his villain turned out to be no worse than Van Damme, and somewhere even better. It is a pity that the final battle with him came out completely crumpled. And to look again at Ford was quite such a pleasure, because the old man also did not stay away, although he serves as a replacement for Willis who left the set.
The harsh rating in relation to the film led to the fact that the action scenes without the absence of blood came out quite faded, but not uninteresting, which, for example, is the storming of the building closer to the finale, where interest, tension grows, but, unfortunately, immediately falls, because it is difficult to enjoy the wretched special effects of shooting. Apparently, having spent everything on actors, the creators completely spit on special effects, and therefore the abundance of disgustingly painted explosions amazes the eyes. But bullets fly, enemies die, and to some extent you can watch.
If you discard all the above disadvantages, then the movie can be characterized by two words: an entertaining action movie. And in the case of the rating, it is a militant for children. After all, you can really forget about immortal heroes, about unexploded houses, and a bunch of dying opponents, and enjoy what is happening on the screen, and have some fun. But, unfortunately, to some extent I feel deceived by the audience, because watching the movie, I wanted to see the old and beloved actors again, to look at their characters, and instead I got Sly spinning around the camera, and “furniture” heroes. Sad, very sad. Otherwise, it is worth watching, especially if you want to distract from everyday problems, because where else will we see so many wonderful actors on one screen?

It’s so cool to see them all together. Again. That’s why people go to the cinema. But they'll soon be disappointed. Compared to the Expendables 3 script, the first two were worthy of an Oscar nomination. Apparently, when writing the script, Silsvstra and the others had an illumination: “Why try and sweat?” We'll blow something up and invite more stars and a case in the hat.” The script was like “all blind, and the heroes have invisibility cloaks.” And these dialogues between killing bad guys are already tired after the first two.
How can an army of tanks fail to kill 13 psychopaths? How can you shoot at point-blank range without hitting. Why did you have to invite these “snots”? I had enough masters 80-90-ies. The girl in the ranks of the Expendables is the worst of the whole movie. It was a purely male film. And here's ...
Actors. Many did not play willingly, because the main thing is that they just exist. Arnie always does. Stalone, too. But Antonio Banderas was great. It's brilliant. He played with sparkling eyes and showed a master class.

P.S. Stallone, try to write something for high school, not kindergarten.
A series of films about the Expendables for me never carried cultural, plot or other values. The only thing I've been waiting for these movies is to watch this good old meat (the final scene from Rambo 4 is still the best for me). And it seems that Stalone understood this, too, before it seemed so. Sadly, even such a stupid dog can go bad. The film was amputated in the very place it took me, in meat. A couple of days before watching, I learned that in order to lower the rating of the film, the bloody scenes and dismemberment were removed from it!! And if it did not catch the eye ..., and it is felt from the very first scene, when the guard from the train cuts the wire stretched between the two pillars and they fly like plastic - it is obvious that the film was originally written clearly not under this rating ...
Everything else is the same, but with a minus sign. Stalone stubbornly continues to stuff his brainchild with old familiar faces, although he can not keep existing ones, which is much worse for me. Without Willis and Rourke, something is missing, not to mention other previously famous faces. Those characters that are absolutely not disclosed, how they shared screen time on the set is not clear, for example, Jet Lee never hit anyone. In some places you can smile, although good humor in my opinion has become less. Much more stupidity, because of which the film, if not for the actors, would resemble a cheap pass B-Movie. What only is the battle of the Indefatigables with the army of Asmanistan, which is commanded, judging by the epaulettes, the senior ensign ... Probably the entire budget went to the granorars of the actors, there was nothing left for the film, even the director is some kind of left, it would be better for Stalone to shoot himself.
I didn’t regret it, but I was more disappointed.

The Expendables-Avengers, or like a movie, has rolled into nonsense.
In general, this was the case. I'm a longtime fan of everyone who's been cast in this and past films, grew up on these grandpas' films. But then, everything was different in 80-90, they approached everything with a greater soul, did everything for the sake of interest, intrigue, fun and a good impression of the film, and only then, for the sake of money. In the 21st century, the last point is in the first place, which is extremely hurtful and not happy, because all modern directors, like writers, think like this: Well, we have a bunch of megastars of the 90s, let’s wrap up a new franchise, gather everyone we can, write a mid-range script, do a bunch of explosions and dizzying shootouts, everything will be on adrenaline, you will like the whole attraction, even want extras, and it was, but only up to this point.
The irrepressible Dilogy proved, perhaps not to everyone, but to quite a lot of people, that today it is still pleasant to see something new, something spectacular, with those faces that delighted 15-20 years ago and more, they succeeded. The first two parts, albeit not chic films, but quite cheerful, the first is good in its own, albeit an average plot, but the production, action, not a plinth humor, give the viewer relax, get 2 hours of pleasure and rest. The second part makes it clear that we have switched to New Eggs. We have more and more, cooler, longer and more intense, the whole film is filled with as good humor, shootouts, good dialogue, not hyper interesting, but for such a film, just once, and also such Faces as (Schwartz, Van Damme, Adkins, Norris and many others). A lot of different hamstrings and banter on each other, as well as a cheerful finale of the film, which just gives a signal to the brain ... more! It was only a matter of time before the 3rd part of the film arrived.
Unstoppable 3 Ehhh Number 3, I hoped you would be as cheerful and cool as a thief, but alas. Thank you, Patrick Hughes, for making such a plum film, in a cool saga. It's a shame ... below is a little more detailed, why this is the sentence.
To begin with, the film made everything head-on below the second part and even the first and it is no jokes and other things. The film shows from the first minutes how much it got lost in numbers, the movie behaves like the Expendables 2.5, but not like the Expendables 3, I just don’t want to believe it, the feeling is even that you watch a cheap Hollywood series, which, as usual, put up the middle script and the Crap Director. In the film from the very first minutes you can see the differences, namely the shitty editing, cheap special effects made in a couple of minutes, the processing of everything and everything, just worse than nowhere, though not always, sometimes everything looks quite watchable, but this is at the end of the film, which here (Sorry me) is just shitty, after the first two parts. Even the final fight does not save the film, because it is short to the point of impossibility.
A little about the new Persians. Kelan Lutz - It seems that the rocking from the film Twilight and the recent Hercules does not come out of Raleigh, all the same Kid, confident in his abilities, who needs the whole truth of the task that he will be offered before the case, otherwise. He's not an actor, he's not a lot!
Tada dam. Apparently, the fashion has gone, to draw more and more wrestlers into Hollywood, and even more so in blockbusters, and suddenly shoot!? But shit... I don’t understand why they took this Ronda Rousey, because she is useless here, as is Milla Jovovich, who claimed this role, but broke down and thank God. Rhonda plays, well, like a tree, pounces on what her training in martial arts.
The remaining 2 new, a hacker and a cool guy with lotions, even their names do not remember, look like a bath leaf on the ass, a bad choice when the film assembles great people. The newcomers played normally... but I don’t want to see them in the sequel, otherwise there will be a drain again, they just aren’t in the box office!
The only one who pleases this Our (Cat in Boots-Banderas) here is his test, a couple when you are already falling asleep from the thrust of what is happening and painfully boring dialogues, Banderac comes into play, he is a terrible talker, eternal stories and a lot of humor, at least something makes you cling to the film, in a positive way.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh This is Jet Lee and Schwarzenegger. Why? why are there so few of them? Schwartz has not been happy with movies lately, one piece of shit or short roles like this. But Jet, why did you shoot here at all? I did not understand (1 minute of screen time) when they gave hope in the trailer that he will, that he can play the whole film, and not as in the second part, but alas.
Finally, the film, alas, rolls into poop, very sad. This is a problem for both the plot and the actors, as well as the director and most importantly, I believe that it is high time for the film to change the scene. For the destroyed buildings, wastelands and so on, are already boring, bring the Expendable 4 to New York or something else, but not the Ruins, for the 4th time it will not roll.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Don't count!
Welcome to all who have waited, but my verdict

“Don’t strain, or you will have a heart attack” – as for me, this is the most accurate slogan of the film “The Expendables 3”. These words said 72-year-old Harrison Ford 68-year-old Sylvester Stallone in the middle of the film. I wanted to say this phrase throughout screen time, because I really did not want anyone from the host of main characters to die accidentally of old age. The youngest of the unstoppable, Jason Statham, is only 47 years old - the optimal age to start a war with everyone for everyone and perform dizzying stunts.
The plot of the picture is simple, like all militants in the style of the 90s: a special unit of irrepressible old men led by Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) frees one of its founders - Dog ( Wesley Snipes), to help destroy another of their founders, Conrad Stonebanks ( Mel Gibson), who switched to the "dark side" and began to trade weapons.
The mission collapses and Barney announces to his colleagues that “if we continue like this, it will end up the same for all of us – a hole in the ground, and nobody gives a shit.” He disbands the old team, recruits a new one: three young boys and a masculine girl to deal with Stonebanks with their help.
Dialogues are pathetic and far-fetched. The facial expressions of the main characters are distorted by plastic surgery. From the soundtrack remembered only The Kongos with his hit three years ago “Come With Me Now”.
The target audience of the franchise “Expendables”, in my humble opinion, is the generation of the 90s, which is tired of the complex construction of current action, decorated with painted background, special effects, ultra-modern gadgets and all-seeing “big brother”. I want their naive and simple souls of a simple rubilov with an unpretentious plot without reflection and snot, the familiar muzzles of the main characters and the demonstrative superiority of brute physical force over modern technologies.
But the director Patrick Hughes (?) was able to screw it up. Barney’s mental torment about and without reason, the streams of consciousness of negative heroes, the abundance of computer graphics instead of real explosions, shooting and chase – all this is clearly not to the liking of the “Pepsi generation”. And not just them.
Fortunately, someone leaked the film to the network before going to the big screen in good quality and allowed the viewer to understand that the film is not worth going.

Once Sylvester Stallone made a real furor, shooting in 2010 a cool action movie "The Expendables", where he collected a chic acting ensemble of stars of the 80s and 90s. Then two years later, a sequel came out that had a lot more stars, more explosions, more humor. But when it came time to shoot the third part, Stallone suddenly announced that it would be different.
I must say that "The Expendables-3" is indeed different from the previous parts. First, a new rating, in which children could watch the picture, completely “killed” the franchise. After all, “The Expendables” is a purely “male movie”, where something is constantly exploding and someone is killed. Yes, in the third part there will be explosions and shooting, but there will not be the cruelty that was characteristic of the first films. And the special effects in the "Expendables-3" look not so spectacular because of the abundance of computer graphics (previously everything looked more or less realistic). Secondly, for the first time in the franchise there was a clear storyline full of drama. But getting used to the fact that "The Expendables" - cool special effects, a great cast, but a weak plot, take the new part is not easy. On the one hand, the film began to look more serious, and the humor became less. For another film, this would be a clear plus (even if it starred only Stallone), but not in the franchise “The Expendables”, where most of the time are fights, chases, explosions, not dialogue (which was always in the franchise weak spot). In addition, borrowed plot moves from the film “Mission Impossible-3” show the inability of the writers to give something original.
Even when the "Expendables-2" appeared, viewers noted the fact that Stallone and Statham in the film are much more than Lee, Lundgren, Crews, Couture. Now, the third part is entirely focused on Stallone. And that was a drawback for the painting. With all due respect to Sylvester, he shouldn't have done that. It is clear that the project is run by Sly (who is an actor, producer and screenwriter), but, unfortunately, there is a feeling that only Stallone’s hero pulls the entire film on himself, and the rest are only “for a tick”. Yes, the project is still valuable because with each new film, more and more new faces (whom we know and love) come face to face on the screen, but I would like to see more of them in the business, not for the sake of one or two episodes.
As for the new stars of the old-school “Expendables”, I want to note Wesley Snipes (for whom the work on the sequel was the first after a long break associated with imprisonment), Harrison Ford (replacement of the hero Bruce Willis, who dropped out of the project due to a quarrel over a high fee), Mel Gibson (who played the main antagonist of the picture), as well as Antonio Banderas (coloring “Unstolerated” for his presence of the masses). The others were by the till. Even Robert Davie (bondiana fans should remember him for his role as Franz Sanchez in License to Kill) flashed with strength for a minute and disappeared.
As in the case of the second part, the main villain, played by Mel Gibson, was clearly not fully disclosed. Even though Gibson’s character had a rich criminal past, and unlike Wilen Stonebanks, he was a rather colorful character, I still lacked something in him. Even the final fight between Stallone and Van Damme looked much more elegant than Gibson and Stallone.
To sum up, I want to say that Expendables-3 turned out to be worse than the previous parts. Violating the overall concept of the franchise, Stallone only made things worse. Of course, it was nice to see Snipes (who is still in good shape) and Banderas again, not to mention Statham, Schwarzenegger and the other cast members of the series. One can only guess what would have happened if Gibson, in addition to playing the role of an antagonist, sat in the director's chair. Couldn't have been worse. Therefore, if the third film collects the box office and it becomes possible to start creating the fourth part, I hope that all errors will be taken into account.

“Don’t overexert yourself, or you’ll have a heart attack” – the characters repeatedly repeat, referring to Barney Ross (Stallone) in the third Expendables. And the old man did not care about it and continues to bend his line, announcing the continuation of the banquet in the form of the 4th part even before the release of the 3rd in the world box office. What do you say? It's respectable. The problem is that already in the triquel, the franchise begins to manifest a clear “arrhythmia” and the problem here, first of all, in the script. How can you ruin a movie where you only need a well-directed action and a lot of childhood heroes? Before watching this movie, the question and the answer simply did not arise. A large number of childhood heroes in the picture is still there, but the creators did not cope with the first point.
The narrative moves extremely unevenly (to the question of "arrhythmia"), there are many simply unnecessary dialogue scenes with arguments about old age and so on, and if the first time such conversations cause a good smile and a rush of nostalgia, then in the next 20 - only irritation. Is this not a movie or am I confusing it?
Perhaps the above defect would not have caught our eye if the film had continually shown us the coolness of old robbers, but no. Another part of the timekeeping is mercilessly eaten by beginners - "young blood" Unstoppable. All of them, to put it mildly, no actors playing the roles of young talents are for the most part unknown and uncharismatic, what to say if the most suggestive of them is Kellan Lutz? The introduction of these characters is not justified and looks like a waste of viewer time. Give way to the elders!
Of the positive moments, first and foremost, I note the new villain in the person of Mel Gibson. Crazy Max has a lot of bad guy roles, but damn it, he's cool! Also pleased with the presence of Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas, who, unfortunately, not so often flash on the screen. Special attention should be paid to Banderas. His hero is a mixture of Desperate and Cat in boots and the so-called comic outlet. Such a hero is needed by the team!
And once again, by the way, about arrhythmia, many already involved characters were given just criminally little time, say, Schwartz and Jet Lee. Given this, the problem of wasted timekeeping becomes even more pronounced, add a small amount of action here in the middle of the tape and get a cocktail “Disappointment” at the exit.
By the way, that same action, even in moments of high concentration of it, looks quite pathetic in comparison with the previous two films of the series. Of course, it is the fault of the rating “13 and older”. There is no more brutal, masculine action, demonstrated in the third "Expendables" resembles rather not the best action films of the 90s, the impression is enhanced by the ragged editing of action scenes paired with bland and little-notable camera work. At least some drive brings, as before, excellent musical accompaniment. It would be nice to accompany you.
Fatigue. This is what characterizes the triquel of dashing cabbage about the heroisms of invincible old men. Unstoppables 3 is unfortunately the weakest link in the trilogy. Watch the film, no doubt, is worth it, but it is much worse than the innovative first and close to the “dream fighter” of the second part. The franchise needs a shot of testosterone and adrenaline, otherwise in the fourth part we will see even more dialogue, less action, coolness and favorite characters.
I waited a long time for this part, especially because Wesley Snipes was supposed to be in it. The film did not disappoint - I got what I expected.
Plot.
The most ordinary, unremarkable, banal such story. Barney and the guys go on another mission, along the way pulling out of prison character Wesley (not remembered the name). A little later it turns out that the man, whom the guys have to remove, is one of the founders of the Expendables, who until recently was considered dead (Gibson). In a skirmish with him, one of Barney's team grabs a serious wound, and therefore Barney seriously thinks that the men have already worn out. Hardly experiencing what happened, he realizes that he will not stand it if one of his friends sewn and decides to disperse the team and recruit new strongmen.
Nothing grandiose at all. The place of events will not surprise anyone, everything is typical. And flying on the rope stairs of the helicopter Stallone – it is probably so predictable that I would be surprised if not this episode in the film.
Actors.
To be honest, I don’t care about the plot when all the heroes of childhood are on screen together. Even if they show very little. However, outrageously little showed Dolph and Jett. It was great to see Harrison Ford. And I was surprised that he tried to turn the heat. At first I thought I'd show up a couple of times as a serious assignment uncle. Funny character of Antonio Banderas. He somehow refreshed the whole company, they once lacked such a frame. Well, the linchpin was clearly Snipes. He fit in well and really drew all the attention to himself. I am very happy with him, and I hope he will be in the next part as well. Too bad Jackie never showed up. And it would be nice to see Steven Seagal. I don't know any young actors. I don't remember them very much. I didn't see the charisma in them.
Humor.
I don't know what to say. I laughed. It was kind of old school, just like when I was a kid. I will not say that the film is saturated with super-subtle humor, but in general it has a positive atmosphere. However, it was given, apparently, hard - I even had to make a reference to the real conclusion of Snipes, in order to cheer the audience.
Anyway, the movie is pretty good. I find it inappropriate to criticize him too pickily. The idea is to get these guys together, which is cool. A twisted tense plot or a delightful acting game - you need to look elsewhere. Here we have an easy-to-see movie that will be pleasant to see in the company of friends.
The third part of the action movie, in which the idols of many people have gathered again, clearly does not claim to be “best actors”, “best film” or the like. Many viewers, who fiercely criticized the first two parts, most likely expected a grandiose epic from them, but stumbled upon something weaker, as they thought. In fact, the bar that was set for the film was kept to the end in all three parts.
The idea of Sylvester Stallone himself was to revive the spirit of the militants of the last century, to show the audience that the guys who lit up a couple of decades ago are capable of much more. I believe he succeeded. Sly did not write an intricate script, steep plot twists, but on the contrary, made the movie easy so that we, in turn, did not strain and enjoyed our favorite actors. The idea of the film is quite banal and it is easy to guess how it will end. The dialogues of the heroes seem to be taken from the militants of the 20th century and remade for each of them. By the way, the humor in the film is great and if you are a fan of those cult films from which all these actors came out, then you will undoubtedly like it! Plus, there are all the components of a standard action movie: an easy plot, big guys, a villain who does not have the best plans, shooting, fights, chases, explosions and destruction. Do you think that’s always a good look?
Who hasn’t seen at least a couple of movies with each of the main characters? More than one generation has grown up on these fighters! They taught us, first and foremost, never to give up and each of us believed in our childhood that we could be just as strong, brave and resourceful. Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Jet Lee, and the most striking addition to the Expendables franchise, represented by Antonio Banderas, are the actors who gave us the best impressions for many years and continue to do so to this day. Even after a few decades, they continue to give the heat in front of the cameras, and Sly is 68, Arnie is 67, Ford is 72!!! They are all part of our past. And it is good if they will enjoy their presence at least in the not distant future.
In this part, the dynamics and atmosphere deteriorated markedly. A lot of spoiled bad filming, editing, special effects at the level of the 80s, which are too corny eyes. Also, in my opinion, the actors who played the new "young" lineup of "The Expendables" were very weak and looked bad against the background of all the others.
The Expendables 3 is clearly the worst part of the trilogy. But, despite all the disadvantages, the movie is definitely recommended for viewing. The main thing is to turn off your brains and enjoy the presence of your favorite “old people” on the screen for two hours. Don't expect anything serious.
I love the first two parts of The Expendables. Yes, they have flaws, but there is also drive and entertainment ... who am I kidding, it's just cool crazy cabbages with Sly, Arnie and Willis. Rourke, Statham, Lundgren, Van Damme, Jet Lee were also involved, and I personally like Chuck Norris. Of course, no one called each other by their real names, all by some nicknames (such as Christmas, the Temple), still they were good old friends (well, and younger acquaintances).
Unfortunately, the shortcomings of the first two parts manifested themselves in all the “beauty” in the third part, and the merits withered noticeably.
Here, let's say there are good guys: a bunch of famous people, all cool and so on, and the company added Ford, Snipes and Banderas. And all would be well if there were an acceptable number of bad guys on the side of the villains. Oh, no, Gibson's all over it. There is no intrigue, no interest: and so it is clear that the nameless extras of our heroes is not something to kill - even to wound a tank with a direct tip can not. The same problem was in the previous parts: the villain is stupidly alone against the whole ravine, and there are really no helpers. Perhaps only Van Damme had Edkins, but that is too little.
Another problem: newcomers. Against the background of the “old men” they are frankly lost: not that skill, not that charisma, and, damn it, I watch a movie with the heroes of old militants or stare at the craft with newcomers? No, I understand the idea of pushing the new and the old, but could less time be given to the “youth”? And at least to do with them the same as with Hemsworth in the second part, it would be more interesting, and the heat would increase. Because, by God, too many people are running back and forth, cutting off the time of their heroes.
However, the old ones will also have to ride. Sly finally conveyed all the vegetation on Arnie's face, and looked dull and dull (but I was never a big fan of him). Arnie showed up quite often, but he wasn't enough anyway. Lundgren and Jet Lee generally went somewhere far away for the third plan, faintly remembered. “Beginners” are not really remembered, and Cruce and Couture still need to be removed – extra space and time take up only.
The special effects are still the same as in the previous parts, but you could, for some time and work on them. I am tired of forgiving poor quality, you know.
Music... There was a feeling that the main theme was taken and only it was twisted. No, the music is good, but you could do something new or at least not shove it everywhere!
The plot is the same level since the first part, but... Damn it, the moment Sly breaks up with the old team to put together a new one is so stupid and illogical, so out of touch with all the movies that I get upset.
I’m not saying the movie is bad, it’s just weak. There are some advantages, namely:
Snipes. The first quarter of the film he had fun with all his heart, and it was nice to watch. I have not lost my form, it is still cool.
Banderas is a shifted small, agile like a cat, and framing a girl right under the bullets. It was good.
I wouldn’t say it’s a replacement for Willis, just a new face in this franchise. As always, he played well, but the character he has is not so interesting, very similar to the Temple (but the Temple is behind Willis), so ...
Gibson. A good villain, but one in the field is not a warrior, and the fight with him was painfully fleeting and not impressive. Sly's fight with Van Damme was much better and longer.
Fights here are good and not without imagination, but not the best special effects and camera work, coupled with the included cheats iddqd and iddkfa at the level of “beginners” and the army suffering from the “stormtroop effect” in the difficult stage simply kill interest in what is happening.
Jokes are like jokes, there are better, there are worse, a couple were on point, the rest are passing. There is a slight banter over the militants of the eighties and nineties, and thank you for that.
Verdict: passing movie or tired cabbage. Snipes is definitely worth a look, maybe Banderas. Beginners to scrap. In fact, it is better to watch the first half an hour and leave the cinema / turn off the TV / close the player.
P. S. In principle, from the “new ones” it was necessary to take Liam Neeson – among the heroes of the militants he is new, but tough. I can't wait to see Jackie Chan.

At least because of the stupidity and absurdity of this movie does not deserve high scores. The first and second films were with an adult rating, because of which the entertainment did not suffer, and the cinematography is very high. There are also camera evasions in the moments of murder, to make money on children. It's depressing from the first minute.
Next, the main nonsense - the hero Stallone decides that his guys should not die and need to recruit new ones who will die. "Logic."
Characters are a kayuk. Snipes after an introductory silly scene with a bad CG, one could say, leaked, Jet Lee generally appeared once, Crews in the opening scene. Ford just flies in a helicopter, Schwartz in the second part showed himself, here - no, the villain is predictable. Jokes are very worn out (such as “ladies forward” about men and “may you two rent a room”), there are practically no successful ones. Banderas is responsible for the pun this time, but he was more annoying than laughing. The new ones are not needed here – only save them, although they are given a little rehabilitation.
The costume designer has a separate bow - it is so ridiculous to dress the main characters you need to try.
The music is completely normal. But the songs sound good, but not good. The whole world sitting on a ticking bomb - what is it, when the guys just live an ordinary life in retirement, and behind the scenes do not show anything illegal?
In the description, all lies are written about the struggle of generations and high technologies, but does not smell them once. Using a drone once per movie and having a squabble over a portable computer is not counted.
It was painful to watch. I'd like to praise you for nothing. Honestly, there are no pluses, everything is passable. To watch only those who are looking for a way to relax, but I have higher cultural requirements for films.

"Expendables 3" or "When the lucky ring does not save!"
If this year we have to choose the failure of the year, I will call it the Expendables 3. The first part was a kind of breakthrough, but you will agree in which film you can see several heroes of militants in the same team? After 2 years, the second part was released and it was also welcomed and most critics gave a positive assessment. This year, the third part came out, which is not at all like the last two parts. Let me explain to you why.
Plot:
The plot of this picture is very different from his brothers. After another mission, which turned out to be a failure, Barney almost loses his friend and teammate at the hands of Stonebanks, who was also unstoppable. After this blow, the main character disbands the entire team and looks for a new, younger team. Find the same Stonebanks. And as you can guess, this has not led to anything good.
Director:
The first part of “The Expendables” was shot by Sylvester Stallone, and two later Simon West shot. The third part was directed by Patrick Hughes. Do you know what the first two directors are like? That they have experience and have made more than one movie! As you can guess, for Patrick Hughes this is the first film of his career! Why should a beginner take such a project and screw it up if it could be done by professionals? I don't understand. However, Hughes did not do his job, but invited a terrible team. One of the writers was Stallone, but was it worth taking such a plot? Instead of the shootings and the hurricane action we saw in the first two parts, he chose almost drama. But why? I don't understand. A huge minus I put the editor, who probably fell asleep while watching the movie. There are so many unnecessary moments in the film that needed to be cut down, but he didn't. Another issue is duration. The first two parts were designed for about 100 minutes. The same movie runs for 126 minutes, but if you cut down the moments you don’t need, you get a 90-minute tape. Fact.
Actors:
As with all the Expendables movies, the actors are a huge plus. In the first film, in addition to the main characters, Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts were invited. In the second part, we saw Chuck Norris and Van Damme. In the third part appeared Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford. You can put a score on each one! Unfortunately, only Snipes and Gibson are remembered. The first - knives tricks and a little humor, and the second - his role as a psychopath, which he also had earlier in the movie "Machete Kills". As for the new team, they are not remembered. Even Banderas played better than them. The funny thing is that Jet Lee is mentioned in the trailer almost one of the first, but in the film he plays as a maximum of 30 minutes, if not less.
Music:
Music is another downside to this movie. I don't even know if you can call it music - stupid repetition of the same words! There's no way to put immortal AC/DC or some cult band, but instead we hear it's not clear what.
Decoration:
I don’t know what the budget is, but the scenery is terrible. Especially the last, multi-storey house. Indeed, in order not to show problems with the budget, we will demolish the unfinished high-rise building! Logic.
Total:
The Expendables 3 is the worst part of all. Terrible script, which is so boring and monotonous that you fall asleep + director - a beginner who really showed nothing + disgusting music. Of course, the pluses are actors who try at least somehow and it is because of them that I do not put the rating lower. I don’t know what the fourth part that’s already in the project will be, but if it’s the same as this one, I’ll give it a 1. And so only 5 and then with a great stretch.
P.S. If you watch, watch and count how many times Schwartz’s glasses will disappear and appear (close to the end of the film).

Young everywhere we have a road, stars everywhere we have honor.
"Expendables 3". A project that came out thin. After the second part, which in comparison with the prequel-parent seemed to decline, the third part was scary to expect. But I couldn’t resist the temptation to watch him. I'm in a good mood. This film was expected. And he didn't disappoint. And that's good.
Here Barney — he, we remember, plays Stallone — recruits a new team as his assistants. "Old men" (a little more and this word will be appropriate to write without quotation marks), of course, are jealous of this. But the enemy is prepared and strong. Former "unstoppable." But we, the audience, have only seen this man in other films. Stonebanks, or speaking of an actor, is Mel Gibson.
Stallone, State, Gibson, Ford... All of this, of course, is very good. Harrison Ford. He's now an employer instead of Bruce Willis. Die Hard won't be here. Not that I loved him, but waited. However, Harrison Ford may be more appropriate. We took here and Wesley Snipes. And his hero showed wonders of coolness. And there is also my forever beloved Arnold Schwarzenegger. It seemed to me that in the frame he appeared less than in the previous part, but it is good that they did not forget about him, and then in the prequel he is generally given a modest cameo.
All these old men are pleasant to see together in the same territory. And in addition, the triquel many times surpassed the second film in its plot. There, the old fighters just appeared in the frame. Here it is flavored with a meaningful plot and a beautiful panorama of the battle.
Who really was the highlight is Antonio Banderos. He's gorgeous here! His hero clarifies and endlessly, incessantly chatting.
These are the whales on which the Expendables are held. If you'll excuse me, I'll ignore the young. They have yet to play in other roles. Here, no one from the new convocation of the picture spoiled. There is only one character named Moon. But even more so for the male population. This is a chubby beauty Ronda Rousey. Let's look at her...
As for this moment, the audience is somewhat cool about the triple approach to the project. However, apparently, because of their respect, something does not allow them to be more critical of the tape. I am sure that positive criticism will grow. And it will not only be given for beautiful eyes.

For me, Expendables 3 was the main premiere of the summer of 2014. Ironically, they were the biggest disappointment. Despite the fact that the film is not bad: it works perfectly in the familiar old school territory, it is still able to cause an attack of nostalgia in the “eightcostals”, as well as those who still remember what a video cassette is and how to use a VCR.
Having conceived “The Expendables”, Stallone intended not only to revive his film career and return to multimillion dollar fees, but also to demonstrate that the viewer was tired of overloaded with computer effects tapes pretending to be militants and managed to miss the good old action “without embellishment”. And it does not matter that the icons of the genre have aged, it does not matter that many of them have tarnished their filmography with very vague productions. No problem, in the end, that many fans managed to forget. With a light hand Stallone, thanks to "The Expendables", a whole constellation of actors returned from nothingness, most of whom, alas, did not appreciate this "gift of fate" and immediately slid back into the abyss of thrash. What once again makes you feel respect for Sly: he not only stayed at the height he took, he climbed even higher!
Having turned into a franchise, the Expendables have already proved on the example of the sequel that they are not going to change to please the modern viewer and will stubbornly bend their line, focusing primarily on the world box office (it is no secret that non-Americans are much more susceptible to nostalgia!). And so, when nothing foreshadowed a catch, the car malfunctioned. Either Sly simply lacked inspiration and fell in love, or he decided that “there is no need to fix what is not broken”, but the triquel did not. It feels like other people did it at all. Self-irony was replaced by self-flagellation (all these attempts at drama affecting the theme of the team as families and surprisingly falsely played Stallone scenes of Barney Ross' internal struggle), absolutely stilted characters (with the exception of Gibson and Banderos None of the actors seems to be trying to somehow blossom their hero), bloodless action scenes (hello rating 12+), and to top it all off, "The Expendables" suddenly moved to the territory of the frank mainstream and took over the last "Festimossible" and exploit the "Misible" ideas. For the latter, most likely, it is worth blaming the family pair of screenwriters Katherine Benedict and Crayton Rotenberger, who have experience writing scripts negligible, and any original ideas in the creative baggage is not observed (released in 2013, "The Fall of Olympus" vivid confirmation of this!). The script was not a strong place in the franchise before, but here the stupidity of what is happening on the screen and the toothlessness of jokes directly cuts the eye. Such patented charismatics as Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford are catastrophically underutilized! Considering that the first one is devoted to a very spectacular introduction, it is completely incomprehensible to shift the character of Snipes not to the second, but even to the third plan for the rest of the tape. Ford, instead of pleasing the audience with references to a cohort of iconic characters like Han Solo or Indiana Jones, plays back exactly as much as he was paid and shows no apparent interest in the project (perhaps the scandalous replacement of Willis played a role here). About Schwarzenegger and Li to speak and not necessary. Their participation in the triquel for me personally remained incomprehensible. If in the second part of the franchise, both had albeit small, but very spectacular fighting scenes, then here both appear in the form of “wedding generals” and are simply present in the frame.
I won’t deny that the Old Guard (especially Stallone, Gibson, Snipes and Schwarzenegger) still looks great! Alas, this is perhaps the only trump card of the film. And if for someone to admire the heroes of childhood is more than enough - I lacked an interesting story, screen meat, brutality, in the end! It's too smooth, too sterile. Among other things, Stallone clearly got into taste in the distribution of screen time and allocated it to his beloved so much that even with a two-hour timekeeping, everyone else got pitiful crumbs (again I want to highlight Gibson and Banderos, who managed to make their characters memorable and bright in this scenario). What part in the fate of the film took the director Patrick Hughes to understand difficult. At least I did not feel the firm hand of the director personally.
Of course, all of the above does not mean that the franchise has reached a dead end and does not deserve audience expectation. Deserves it! May God grant Sly our partners in good health, may they please us with new "Expendables" regularly every two years. Triquel clearly demonstrated that gunpowder at action pillars is still in abundance and in skillful hands this same gunpowder is able to shoot so deafening and loud that hitting the bull's eye is certainly guaranteed. But it's in skilled hands. Perhaps when the fourth series is created (and I truly believe in its existence!), they will appear!

Nostalgia is a strong thing, no matter what. I think even Sylvester Stallone did not expect that his craft in the style of the 80s called “The Expendables” would become a real cult for the masses and get a sequel. Moreover, the world box office of the second part was several tens of millions of dollars higher than the original, and this circumstance gave us another opportunity to see on the big screens the good old heroes of militants, pushed in our time to the background due to the triumph of special effects over steel fists. The main feature of the franchise was the participation of action icons of past years in a rather indecent amount. And "Expendables 3" was no exception. Of course, it is a pity that we will not see beloved Mickey Rourke, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme, refused to participate in the project due to personal reasons, but at the same time it is impossible not to feel delighted with the fact that within the framework of the same project will meet together Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> And this is not taking into account the old-timers of the series - Stallone, Statham, Couture, Crews, Lee and Schwarzenegger. What can you expect from such a star cast? Personally, I really hoped that the plot would reduce the lyrical side, and increase the amount of humor and dynamics. And surprisingly, everything turned out exactly as I wanted. As for the story, there is one too. But he is far from the main one here.
So, we meet again with the brave mercenaries Barney Ross (Stallone), who in the old-fashioned way sweep away all the obstacles in their path. However, the last task shakes even the commander of the squad - the heroes are tasked with dealing with an arms dealer of international scale Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson). It would seem that the task is quite in the spirit of the fearless Expendables, but besides Barney, no one knows who Stonebanks really is. Ruthless, uncompromising, and the most terrible, thinking villain once stood at the origins of Ross' team, changing the principles of his former comrade, going to all serious. Of course, if Barney is younger, he went ahead without too much sentiment against Stonebanks, but over the years comes not only experience, but also wisdom. Therefore, the Expendables are waiting for a numerous replenishment of the ranks, entirely consisting of young blood.
The already numerous casting of the film is complemented by rising young stars. Therefore, meet Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz. With their arrival, the Expendables slightly lose their mood as a project-nostalgia and begin to acquire the features of newfangled fighters. Now in the arsenal of heroes there are not only grenades, guns and biceps, but also computer technology, as well as all kinds of modern technological gadgets. But, frankly, to look at the youth in the picture, where the ball is ruled by veterans is not so interesting. Stallone and the new director of the film, Patrick Hughes, decided to make the franchise interesting to the widest audience, but this was not necessary. No matter how young people try, they are not yet able to resist the charm of Snipes, Statham and the company, and therefore I would significantly cut their screen time, giving it to the favorite stars.
And now I want to focus on the actors who are really emotional. I'll start with a little upset. Schwarzenegger, Lee and Crews were only invited stars without full roles. Yes, Stallone and Hughes gave them a couple of spectacular scenes, but in general, without the participation of these actors, the plot could easily do. However, there is no evil without good. The new characters simply blended perfectly into the plot and gave such a charge of drive and sharp jokes that Chuck Norris did not dream! Antonio Banderas, who finally ceased to be a serious Spanish macho and laughed at himself from the heart. It came to the point that Banderas can be called the most memorable hero of the picture. He got his 15 minus fame and enchanting Wesley Snipes, whose misadventures with the law in the real world were originally played out in the plot. Honestly, Banderas and Snipes – this is who was missing past tapes, which in the break between shootings fell into dismay. Now “The Expendables” are simply full of humor, enthusiasm and dynamics in the best traditions of the 80s! Harrison Ford successfully replaced Bruce Willis and became not just an employer, but you can even say a friend of Barney Ross. Without flying humor in the style of Han Solo was also not done! A special mention deserves Mel Gibson! Perhaps this is the most impressive antihero of the series. Yes, his image added some classic stamps like love for art, but it really causes a sense of danger. And along with Gibson’s unfading charm, his character, Stonebanks, evokes very strong feelings. As for the old-timers of the series, there are no surprises here. Stallone is sad and doubts the correctness of his life, Statham behaves like a real man, Lundgren frowns (sorry that he no longer jokes), and CouturCouture nicely complements the frame.
Separately, I would like to mention the camera work, which became no less adornment of the film than explosions and shootings. Unlike the second part, where everything was shaking and rushing from side to side, “The Expendables 3” boasts a quite traditional view of shooting. Every trick, every effect is juicy shown in the frame and we don’t miss anything. Of course, due to the complexity of individual tricks, the installation sometimes looks somewhat ragged, but this can be safely forgiven. As for the musical accompaniment, we are waiting for a double number of bright, dynamic songs of the old era, as well as new-fangled rap and rock. And sometimes it is such melodies that a picture about cheerful militants is needed. But to downplay the efforts of Brian Tyler I still will not, because his main theme of the franchise still gets to the bone in the most dramatic moments of the narrative.
In conclusion, I want to say that "The Expendables 3" is a great action movie, whose only task is to entertain its viewers. The film does its job very well. Do not expect anything extraordinary from the plot, because if you have watched the past parts, you know that the focus is on the stars involved, who do not part with their automata. Explosions, chases, hand-to-hand combat, men’s humor and familiar faces – that’s what the Expendables 3 is all about. We didn't expect anything else.
The idea of creating the Expendables was based on a simple idea - to unite the action heroes of the past and make them beat each other's faces, blow everything up, shoot everyone. Did we not dream before of seeing Stallone fight Van Damme, how Iron Arnie jokes on his friend Sly, how Die Hard, Terminator and Rambo are caught simultaneously from their guns in the same frame. And our dream came true. Thanks to Stallone. And thank you not only as an actor, but also as a director.
Therefore, the first part came out as a tough uncompromising pathos action movie with moderate and clear humor. The second part was taken by the notorious Simon West (" Air Prison). Blood and meat went by the wayside, but added the number of stars, incendiary “his” humor and action.
With the directors decided to experiment further. And the third film was approached exclusively original. In the chair of the director, the debutant in the big movie Patrick Hughes was seated, who had previously shot the famous short film “Signs”. What did the creators want? Judging by the script, Stallone wanted to add seriousness and drama, but at the same time to humor, as in the second film, and add meat, as in the first. That is, Hughes had to hold on to three horses at once. I can safely say that drama is the most familiar and interesting area of research in cinema for Hughes, so a lot of time is devoted to conversational and psychological moments in the film.
You could say it's good, guys are experimenting. But that wasn't it. Stallone is good at writing and staging action, but his dialogues don’t shine with depth. Most of them are banal, pathetic. In fact, in the first and second part, this was treated very measuredly. For the dramatic component in each part was responsible for one character, who was allocated one episode of the picture, where he talked about the problem. Mickey Rourke and Liam Hemsworth did a great job. In the third "Expendables" drama. part extends directly to all the characters of the film. And that's not good. There are two action scenes at the beginning of the film and one at the end. Everything else is talking, talking, talking. A lot of talk. Oddly enough, if I go to a movie where Stallone, Statham, Schwarzenegger, Lee, Lundgren are filmed, then I want spectacles - shootouts, explosions, fights, fleeting witty jokes. I don't want to watch tough men with machine guns cry and whine for virtually no reason. There is no reason for drama in this film.
As a result, Barney’s actions are perceived much more aggressively than the actions of the main villain, who took the role of the magnificent Mel Gibson, as always. All his villainy is built on the evil memory of Barney, the fact that he throws weapons, and that he gets out of different cars in different cities and buys expensive paintings. And all his invincibility ultimately comes down to zero. You will be surprised, but the final fight Stallone and Gibson looks dull and lasts barely a minute. What to say... Shame. Of course, a huge disadvantage of the film are young actors. In acting, they're total zeros. They do not shine with fighting abilities and charisma. They were presented as innovators in the Insecure team, as specialists in spy gadgets and weapons. In the end, all their actions turn against them and do not carry any semantic load. And in general, the role of the young could take actors more famous young audience. Taylor Lautner, Zoe Bell, Josh Hartnett... those names are at least known. Is it not in the knowledge of the names that lies the basis of the “Expendables”? Another downside is that such a brutal team of Barney Ross can not be countered by equally brutal villains. I hardly believe that one Gibson can be a serious obstacle to a whole galaxy of furious men, and mercenaries, not law-abiding policemen. And again, conversations... Empty, quickly annoying, often meaningless conversations. All the characters are like melancholic stars – they talk and make big Mkhatov pauses.
What I really want to thank the creators for is Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas. Unfortunately, nothing but the cast in the film is impressive. Some characters are completely lost in the film. Even Arnie's Trench was pointless. Lundgren was unjustly forgotten. Terry Crews was badly disposed of. And Jet Lee just fires a couple of bullets. Action scenes are unoriginal. I only enjoyed familiar faces and a couple of good jokes. If this continues, the Expendables will remain a soulless cabbage.
You can't strangle this song, you can't kill it. Sly has once again assembled his enchanting team of (mostly) muscular oldpers to make his own.
how to run with them, get drunk, shoot, show off, plug the snotty young by the belt, clearly demonstrating to him that the old horse (and especially the crowd of “horses”)
It won't ruin the furrows. That’s all, as well as the endless attraction for the spectacular destruction of various movable and immovable enemy property and the rushing irony is the corporate style of this franchise.
Friends, I fully understand how stupid this will sound, but this project has again, for the third time, knocked out a wild tenderness from me. Sly's friends - almost all - are film heroes of my deep golden childhood. And the addition to Stallone, Lundgren, Statham, Crews, Lee, Couture and Schwarzenegger Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and two from my point of view really great – Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson – that’s, I understand, a bonus.
The latter plays the former “unstoppable”, who went on a curved path and, as it turns out, once unbeaten by his devoted ex-friends. Strictly speaking, the role of Gibson got about the same as in the second part of Van Damme - and in this you can see a hard sur. The level of these actors is too different: Van Damme only flaps his legs (although in this he is great, I must admit), and Gibson is a genius of acting and directing. Well, let Gibson indulge until the third masterpiece as a director does not remove.
Ford had a bit more luck with the role - though not by the scale of the actor's personality. But you have to see him with an angry mine telling Barney why he's blushing!
Snipes does not age, the infection is such, and charmingly pounces in the frame better Stallone and Statham combined.
As for Banderas, he created a kind of mix from his own Cat in Boots and Murphy’s Donkey.
The creators diluted the old guard with a company of young people, of which the most famous comrade is Kellan Lutz (vampire Emmett from Twilight). To my surprise, he plays quite decently (I thought he was an actor of the same role). But still looks inadequate replacement "killed" in the last series Liam Hemsworth. Togo, in my opinion, should have been left. Because "unstoppable" is packed with "br/"
muscles and heavy, clasped faces, lack at least one truly beautiful face – what is called “washed fresh dew”. Hemsworth's face is just like that.
But back to the youngsters who replaced him. Boys with one girl (similar to Irina Dubtsova) in the film get into trouble, despite their strength, prowess, lotions, gadgets and strategies, and heavy oldpers, who can only "pif-puff" and on the forehead, rush to save them.
The movie is as simple as three rubles. With an abundance of uncomplicated pontiffs, explosions and shooting. But in sophistication - in addition to faces from childhood familiar actors - and there is his main charm.
