It’s not just the old people who are fighting... it’s a pity. .
I was waiting for the film, just for the sake of what I was waiting for the first two parts - to see the actors familiar from childhood together in the same film. But something went wrong.
3 hours before the film, I began to suspect something, and what exactly, could not understand. I started reviewing the trailer and re-reading the cast. And that’s where it came out that I don’t know half the cast... and I barely saw some in the trailer. Trying to understand - how so, I plunged into the abyss of memory and yet only the announcement of the irresistible 3... oh... how great it was... whom we were only promised... And Jackie Chan and again Chuck Norris and Mickey Rourke (provided he quits drugs), and Bruce Williss (who merged, because he wanted for 3 days of filming 4 million dollars.) and some there ' female star cast' ... but it was not.. well, then we are waiting for a grinding action!
BAM! By the way, there is no really interesting action for the first hour and a half. But there are conversations, conversations, conversations. And. It is not bad to listen to these conversations and understand what is hidden in them.
Yeah! Meaning! The third part should be treated first of all as an ironic film. The plot boils down to the fact that they (the actors of the old school) are no longer needed, that so no one fights (does not make a movie), that it was in that century to enter and shoot everyone, now everyone is ruled by comps (again about filming, because in fact most of the films are now shot on green screens), and the appearance of Banderos? (greatly shows that old people are left without work, and that they are ready to take any job).
And these conversations make it very sad, especially for those who grew up in the 90s and Schwartz, Stalon, Williss, Dolph are not just actors, but almost friends, older comrades with whom we spent our childhood.
Therefore, to treat this film as a "shooter" & #39; - I think it is absolutely wrong, it is primarily a film of irony or a film warning. Warning that they do not have long... constant jokes about cholesterol, strokes, old age, tumors in the lungs... as I thought these films just say goodbye to us, because now they have started to release them, batches, heaps. It's the old-school fighters... This is what makes me sad.
But let’s get away from my thoughts and move on to the film. The plot is simple and primitive - the old team is too old, we assemble a new one, it does not cope, so take the old one, save the new one and become one close-knit family.
The shooting looks good, the explosions too, the dynamics in the film is felt. A sense of humor - with the advent of Antonio - the film becomes bluntly rusty.
What's frustrating is the special effects of everything. Any computer special effect is disgusting, namely, half of the explosions, helicopters, planes, missiles ... it very much spoils the impression.
Jet Lee. It wasn't the whole movie again.
Well, and also there is no joy, what was in the first part and even in the second.. now it's just ' Oh Schwartz!..shit, how did you get old' 'ho, Antonio, didn't see you with... desperate...where did you go?' 'Snipes, where were you? In jail? Ahaha, just like you in the film was pulled out of it, funny came up' and somehow everything.

I am afraid that not all old people will live to see the premiere of the fourth part. . .
The continuation, in my opinion, does not lose the position "The Expendables", new heroes, a new team, a new plot.
Pluses:
And so, of course, in the pluses, I would put first of all action, in "The Expendables" the emphasis on the transmission of atmospheric combat and fights has always been in the first place. They managed to do that. Cool fights, explosions, fights, guns, parkour elements and so on, everything was at a high level and delivered quite adrenaline during the viewing. Especially always delivered crazy and crazy actions of the heroes, when they are ready with bare hands to go to the tank and jump to the fourth floor on a motorcycle or go one-on-one with a hundred opponents without any shelter. For action, this is exactly a plus, as it delivers even more adrenaline to the viewer.
The surrounding exteriors of the area, also pleased. Very colorful, beautiful places where you want to go. Amazing landscapes of nature, night cities and so on. This gives the whole plot the same interest, beauty and another plus.
Musical accompaniment. Here, of course, plus the wonderful composer who wrote this soundtrack to "The Expendables", "Brian Tyler". The music seems to be written in time with every second of the film and gives it a greater atmosphere and greater empathy to the viewer along with his characters.
A huge plus I would give the main characters. I will not list all of them, as it will take a bunch of words... but I will say about those who stood out most in the film:
Sylvester Stallone (Barney Ross) - Of course it's number one. The main irrepressible, who is allocated the most time in the film. As always, Barney is fast, strong, cunning, invulnerable. Stallone, as always, played ten with a plus. I think the old school is better than the new one. Previously, movies were watched, reviewed a hundred times, but ten years later, a hundred times watched. I watched it once and forgot it.
Jason Statham
Mel Gibson (Stonebanks) is an anti-gonist, super-villain, but eccentric and very stupid. Stoneback to the very end of the film does some stupid things that can be counted on your fingers:
1-To suppress the morale of the group and inspire them with fear and chaos, when you have a moment you need to kill the leader, and not shoot the buttocks of the first black man.
2 When you have hostages and you are going to be killed, you do not have to leave them all alive.
3- When your enemies are caught in the mousetrap you have prepared, you do not need to open it and shout: "Run away from here, you have forty-five seconds, otherwise you may die!" As the number of fighters showed, everyone will always have time to escape. You can just blow up so as not to create problems.
4- When the enemies are entrenched in the building and you have a bomb and a helicopter, just drop it on this building, so as not to send hundreds of fighters, tanks and even more so to go there yourself.
5- When you have a gun, a gun, and the enemy has a knife, it is enough to shoot one shot in the heart or head that the enemy would die, and not give him another chance.
In general, with the role of a stupid gun baron Gibson coped with hurrah.
Antonio Banderas (Galgo) is a Spanish mercenary, very agile, agile and fast, like a cat. But nothing is perfect like Galgo. It is Galgo who gives a poignancy and a pinch of humor to the film, diluting the tension with his endless chatter, stupid questions and making others hate him. At the same time, he remains a good, loyal fighter. Banderas was always a good actor and very pleased in the role of a mercenary Galgo.
Wesley Snipes (Dr. Death) Snipes also pleased me with his presence in this film, he plays the role of Doctor Death, a mercenary who served eight years in a secret prison, after which he was remembered. Of course, Snipes will always be remembered as Blade, as it is his best and most memorable role. He also played the role of a mad mercenary, without fear. In the plot, he introduces some elements of the missing mosaic, events that complement the picture, tells about the past.
And of course, the sparkling humor of the characters, which is constantly fun.
Minuses:
In the cons, I will take the trim of the plot, for example, Stallone's fight with Gibson (Stonebacks). I immediately remembered the battle with Vandam, from the second part of The Expendables. Only here, such a feeling, as if, or money was not enough, or Gibson said: "-Sylvester, let's kill me faster, I have to go to a bachelor party to my brother in an hour. ", Or was I tired of filming and wanted to quickly release already to rent money that would cut down. Gibson (Stonebacks) made a super villain, because of which the idea and cooked all this porridge and the whole plot built on him. To fight with Stonebacks, "Elusive Super-Avenger" took only twenty seconds. And that fight looked too naive and stupid. You should always throw away all your weapons, knowing that you will be killed. Well, whatever.
“No, stop... with a gun I can survive and it can save my life!” Yeah, right... we need to get all the guns out of here. The antilogical thinking of the main characters is off scale. And of course, at the end of the battle, the logic wakes up:
Oh, no! We need to grab the gun immediately, so it will be easier to kill it! Damn, I didn't think right away! We need to get it right now!
Mr.
Scenes of the type, when ten meters from "The Expendables" dropped a hefty winged bomb, the same could be removed somehow easier, well, just from the barrel shot made from a helicopter, or from a grenade launcher to the extreme. No, we need to drop the bomb! It's like Unstoppable! In the course of two series, they received immunity to bullets, bombs, stab wounds, blows, falls from any height and on any surface.
No stops... still immunity to Gibson bullets from a sniper rifle in black, namely in the leg and buttock they could not acquire. Fortunately, due to the immunity received during the explosion of a rocket ten meters from the Expendables, only everything within a radius of three hundred meters, namely buildings, cars, and the road, suffered. Everything was destroyed and corrupted to the devil. "The Expendables" sneaking through the chip that if you run away from the epicenter of the explosion ten meters, no matter what bomb, nuclear, hydrogen, vacuum, you fly picked up by the blast wave at a safe distance and get only a small concussion for a couple of minutes, after which you can go to smoke and drink a cup of coffee.
On the basis of all this, I estimate: 8 out of 10
Team of our youth, take the overcoat, that huge Gatling machine gun over there, a couple of grenades, a gun with a gun and let's go. Where to? Watch the third series of adventures of the cheerful friends of Barney Ross.
I will not write about how I went to the cinema, what I expected from the film, and why there were six slackers at the day of the premiere, including me, who instead of working stared at a bunch of brutal muzzles and laughed like Rzhevsky’s horses. It's inappropriate to talk about yourself. So I kind of disappear, not immediately, gradually disappearing into thin air. There's one smile left. The lights go out and in the dark, a soft, insinuating voice sounds very close.
The unstoppables are preparing another operation. Their target is a man handcuffed inside a prison armored train. An angry man with the unshaven face of Wesley Snipes, who served eight years on taxes, patiently waits for Barney Ross, furiously spinning the helicopter ram, to deal with the guards, fills the engine with lead bees and drop a paratroop of pumped intellectuals on the roof. As a result of this friendly meeting of really old friends, one Eastern European country will lose a black man named Doc, one armored train and one maximum-security prison, whose staff will see a remake of the famous Lumière brothers for the last time, after which they will burn everything with blue flames.
You might be surprised, but this is how Barney joins his co-workers for an even more dangerous mission. And since he, unlike Sylvester Stallone, who made this porridge four years ago, does not work out from the first time (the girls will leave aside), then we are waiting for a concentrate of tooth-crushing roof-bearing old-school mochilov in the spirit of the 80s and the sweetest old humor with allusions to the real life and career of the lit up actors.
Why is it necessary to be a fan of old action movies with the Schwartz, Van Dammes and other Lundgren in their classic form, without a touch of postmodernism and matrix visual aesthetics, when you consciously choose the Expendables 3? Because this movie is a perfect hit in the era of video salons and pirated cassettes, wiped to holes fifty times viewing. This is an outlet for nostalgic uncles born at the end of the USSR and caught the beginning of the video boom. This is the only modern film trilogy that opens in the head a temporary portal through which you can mentally reach out and rattle a naive boy on the whirling top, aching with surprise every time the hero defeats crowds of faceless villains with a kick in the old door and a sharp shot of another flat joke.
Long live the heroes of the militants, who miraculously did not lose their career, did not lose their charm in a series of talentless and wretched pictures of modern under-directors! Glory to Sylvester Stallone, who came up with the paradoxical at first glance the idea to gather a dozen old-timers under his wing, give them fake machines and understandable to a limited number of loyal fans (who for some reason are more in China than in Russia) ironic remarks instead of dialogue! The stars converged on the sky in the right configuration and the idea shot. The idea was one and shot three times. And the third time old Stallone threw his net into the murky sea of summer blockbusters, and again the audience fell into the net of his charm. And how not to get caught when Harrison Ford appears out of nowhere in the back seat of the car, Schwarzeneggor is on the lookout, misses the manual machine gun and hugs Jet Lee, Snipes shaves Lundgren's cleaver, Statham jokes, Gibson hates everyone because he's a bloody asshole and a beautiful actor, and Banderas cracks up like your wife on the phone, and steals half the movie from all the characters.
“The Expendables 3” beat in full swing with a powerful action, growing to the final into a miniature third world, brilliant roles of the third and fourth plan and infinitely cute muzzle. You just have to stand in a certain place to feel it and enjoy it.
Is it worth talking about the fact that the film turned out too unreal, too typical and sometimes uninteresting? The script did not please me a bit, but disappointed me more. Many moments were so predictable that, sitting in the cinema, you can predict not only the next actions of the characters, but also the ending itself.
If you switch from an unsuccessful plot to the game of actors, then here is not the best picture. The whole film tried to highlight at least one character who would play interesting, exciting... well, at least sensually. Unfortunately, it didn't work. There were a few scenes where Sylvester Stallone should, I stress, have played more strongly. To show men's weakness, to show these feelings, as I believe was intended in the script. But nothing happened. And the words, in reference to his best friend returning to his aid, such as, "I missed you," were uttered so insincerely that they could be compared to the phrase, "How are you?" And this is just one scene that I think was a failure.
And the second of the main characters Jason Statham? Totally disappointed. It seemed to me that an actor like him, who played in many action films and thrillers, could play many times better.
There is no point in talking about other actors. Such a game can be forgiven only by those viewers who sincerely love this genre of the film and this cast of actors.
In general, if you are a fan of the previous two parts, typical thrillers and action movies, with unreal scenes of shootings or just sympathize with the cast - pleasant viewing.

I don’t like the first two parts of The Expendables. In the first part, two love lines seemed superfluous, which are not clear why they are needed. And the second part just seemed faded and boring, which only by the end warmed up to the desired level. There was even more skepticism in the third part. Based on the fact that the network leaked a finished copy of the picture, immediately poured bad reviews about him. What surprised me, because the first two films are loved precisely for the action and old action stars and the question was brewing: “Is this not enough in the triquel?”
And going to this film in the movie, I can say with confidence that the triquel is absolutely the same as in the previous two parts. Yes, the film has a PG-13 rating, unlike its predecessors, which of course deprived the desired charm of action scenes. But the rest is the same spectacle. The film operates according to one scheme and so far this scheme, with grief in half, but it works and is not annoying (although I think that in the fourth part it will be necessary to change the concept). Perhaps the main disadvantage of the film is that it lasts two hours. That’s a long time for such a movie.
Sylvester Stallone and the rest of the irresistible - still successfully sparkle with muscles, and more is not required from them. It is a pity that such newcomers as Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford and Antonio Banderas showed criminally few.
The action scenes in the film are not so much, but they are very long, which more than pays off their number. But computer graphics are terrible, and it’s time to do something about it, because soon it will start to make you laugh.
The Expendables 3 is the same middle ground as the previous ones. Of the big minuses, only the PG-13 and the long duration, and so all the same. Choose for yourself whether it is good for you.
And so, while watching the trailer, the first thing I liked was the music, but without talking about it on the trailer, it was clear that the third part would be weaker than the second part and after watching the film I made the following conclusions.
Before watching the film, I hoped that I received good emotions from the past two and yes this film did not succeed, although not as successfully as in the past two, but I was very pleased that the film turned out very good.
The movie starts off pretty abruptly like the last two, which is quite right. The beginning of the excellent immediately holds one breath and begins to understand that yes, it will be a bomb. The film went well and there was the whole class, but in the middle of the film, the plot changes dramatically and becomes too banal, well, too much and everything goes wrong, but in addition to the plot, the film seems to be trying to prove itself to the maximum and it succeeds only almost at the end. The handsome Antonio Banderas, from whom I did not expect anything special to prove himself so much that he saved the whole film, he really pulled it out, this was just the man that the film needed in the middle of it. The film managed to prove itself, and in the end everything ended quite well with big changes, which is correct and ends at a good moment and after the film I twisted and twisted it in my head with good thoughts. The film was a success, but alas, the middle was a little crooked, which was a little hurtful, but the handsome Banderas at the end immediately corrected everything with a hurrah!
Sylvester Stallone, he was on his line he is still the same hero as he is and love him he played his role without any claims, but he was so often shown that I already want to switch a little to other characters, and at the end of the film Stalone shows himself so cool that he made the whole hall applaud what I was not surprised by.
Jason Statham was just as good, but it was clearly not enough to see that he could perform much better than in the previous part. But that didn’t stop him from looking good.
I can’t add anything to the other actors, everyone played well, there are no complaints to them. I would love to watch this movie again and again.
As the years go by, you’re getting older, and you’re unlikely to be able to do anything beyond queueing up at the Russian post office and mysterious trips at 7am. Some guys can. And maybe oh-oh-oh-oh! For the third time, Stallone collects a bunch of tough guys once known around the world, adds a couple of new ingredients for freshness, and forgets to actually make a film, leaving it in the semi-finished stage.
Having come up with a dream movie for everyone over 20 in 2010, Mr. Silvester realized that you can make good money on B movies (all the Chuck Norris movies you watched on tapes). The main distinguishing feature of "The Expendables" was not the grinding action and not even a pack of old people from the 80s and 90s, but excellent, unsurpassed humor on meta levels. Schwarzenegger here shouted "I'm back", Willis parodied the famous "Epicaea", and Chuck Norris in one carried a whole army - a real delight for older boys.
In 2014, “The Expendables 3” showed that the authors have long been mired in a creative crisis and forgot that the main feature of all vinaigrette is not in the maximum available number of old people for action scenes, but in the sweet feeling of nostalgia when watching all this explosive pun. And the point is not that we have all seen at least 2 times, but that the originality of the presentation disappeared without a trace, leaving the viewer with very low-quality special effects, wooden actors, absolutely empty characters and children's rating. In the end, the film just falls to pieces.
Expendables 3 is a terrible action movie, but a great comedy. It is the jokes that pull all parts of the film together. It is jokes that reduce the embarrassment from the special effects seen. And, to be honest, it is not very clear why the two most unstoppable, in the truest sense of the word, characters are kept on the margins, giving very little screen time. If the Guardians will be remembered for Raccoon and Groot, the Expendables 3 will be remembered for Banderas and Snipes. Also with one of the most vile and gruesome villains of the year, the authors have never been able to give him normal episodes to fully expose his madness. And Mel Gibson could.
Taking all of the above into account, the new "Expendables" can and should be enjoyed. In the fourth part, changes are needed. And not Steven Seagal with Nicholas Cage, but something completely new.
I would like to start my review with gratitude to the creators of the film, I was very happy today when watching, I plunged into my childhood, then there were a lot of these films, now there are such units, and I am very happy that already the Expendables had 3 films, they are different, but quickly fell in love with me, thank you Patrick Hughes for directing and thank you very much to Sylvester Stallone for coming up with this wonderful story, thank you in general to everyone.
The old men are back in business, she lit up again, and in my humble opinion, this part turned out even better than the previous one, for me of course, more action, more killer and funny dialogues, in this picture there are two teams at once, some are old men, others younger fighters, and it made me very happy, everyone was given time to show themselves, someone less, and someone more.
Brian Tyler has created many beautiful and interesting compositions again, without him The Expendables would not have hooked me as they hooked, he is still cool.
The cast impressed me: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Krews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture, Jet Lee, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, Victor Ortiz and many others.
Sylvester Stallone, Barney Ross in his performance is still very cool, especially I liked his battle with Mel Gibson, looked very chic, spectacular and in the spirit of old times, in addition, I really liked to see how Sly wet everyone left and right, how he shot, his reasoning also fell to my taste, he is still good, looks great.
Jason Statham, it was interesting to see him again, especially liked to see him with the hero Wesley Snipes, they were worth each other.
Mel Gibson, Mel continues to amaze me, he is very good in the role of negative characters, that in Machete he was good, that here, but then he had a much cooler role turned out, his character is very charismatic, cool and arrogant, with what mockery he dealt with his enemies, as a joke, and how he communicated with Sly in the car – it was wonderful.
Harrison Ford, not a little read here opinions that Harrison looks very bad, I would like to see people how they will look at 72 in public, for his age he is very good, played just amazing, was very happy to see him again in the movies.
Antonio Banderas, how he made me laugh throughout the film, did not expect such a role from him, he was matchless simply, he spoke probably more than anyone in the film, it was impossible to shut him down, a very interesting Spaniard turned out, who lost his team and was looking for a new, his humor Antonio clearly decorated an already cool film.
You want to hold my gun? Let's go, girl.
- You won’t believe me, but I think of you every second.
Wesley Snipes, as I was glad to see him, maybe he is not as fast as before, but as he cheered at the beginning of the film, the Doctor in his performance turned out of course excellent, as he was still missing and Expendable in particular, with the return of the old men.
I've got everything under control.
- That's what I understand.
Dolph Lundgren, looked at the level, especially amused by the episode when he drank and shot at targets.
Terry Crews, Caesar in his performance was very cool, it is a pity that not so much time he got.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, To see Iron Arnie was a great happiness, although he was not so often in the frame, but it was spectacular.
Who are you?
- I am the one who saved you all. Randy Couture, looked at the level
Jet Lee appeared almost at the end of the film, but it was nice to see him in the case.
Kellan Lutz, I did not like him much before, but in this film I really liked him, his character loves himself very much, and does not like to follow orders, this hooked, I really liked how he raced a motorcycle.
Ronda Rousey, the girl is just a fire, her smile and her fights and shootouts I really liked, in the red dress she was of course good, but I liked it better in battle, she is beautiful.
I would have met you 30 years earlier.
- I'd be afraid of you. Hello from Barney Ross
Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz also left a pleasant impression.
Thank you to everyone who made me happy for 126 minutes.

A few years ago, having accumulated enough fat and self-confidence, the sixty-year-old Italian stallion Sylvester decided to make an old-school action movie, gathering all the surviving brutal grandfathers into the focus of the lens. The brainchild of his Stallone branded an uncomplicated name "The Expendables" (literal and most similar to the truth translation: "Spendable supplies", in Russian also finds a digestible equivalent of "Cannon meat"), developed a fun skull art with a crow, formalities for the sake of a trailer and, finally, under the numerous cries of orgasms of fans of the genre, launched the product for hire. The two-hour mess, aged according to the old traditions of the “classic action movie”, was flavored with strong self-irony, peppered with all sorts of references and parodies, and, in addition, pleased the eye with frequent and varied action. For the first time in six years, the governor of California flashed feathers on the screen, suddenly became happy with the unshakable glory of Terry Crews (the same Negro from the Old Spice commercial) and Randy Couture (the Russian viewer, except for the role in the Expendables, is not known).
Exactly two years later, Sylvester and Co delighted the viewer with a sequel, with the most correct title "The Expendables 2" - without any subheadings and colons. This time, the director's chair was occupied not by Stallone, but by a certain Simon West (maybe someone at the sound of this name will remember the film "The Mechanic") - and therefore the sweet self-irony became less (by no means plus the film). Compensating for this, a bright, indelible flash set the halls on fire Chuck Norris, and iron Arnie along with Die Hard were involved much more. Action, as he should, along with the sequel became even more powerful and assertive.
Since then, two more years have passed – and now, the third part of the franchise comes out, this time with Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford. Gibson very powerfully and vividly plays the main antagonist, Banderas - vividly and cheerfully portrays a Spaniard (which is easy and pleasant for him to do), Ford - sluggishly but diligently drools in the stereotypical image of a CIA agent. All three of them are a good innovation, but not at all necessary, since you can hardly call them veterans of the genre. But Stallone did not stop at these three - he was carried much further. He, we can say, upgraded the whole team - grandfathers fired, and in their place put some inexperienced youngsters, milksuckers with indistinct, inspiring distrust appearances and even more obscure characters. Most of all, of course, angry blonde Ronda Rousey (for her this is the first role in the movie, and in life she is an American fighter of mixed martial arts and judo wrestler).
It is difficult to talk about the action in the film definitely - maybe there are inventions in terms of combat techniques, but the camera jumps so chaotic-epileptic, and the characters mold at such a rapid pace that the eye is absolutely lost in the general mess and loses the ability to absorb what is happening. One thing is certain: Stallone and Gibson’s final skirmish was weak and too short.
Humor in the film is more or less normal, but it is much more meager and fussy than in the previous parts of the franchise. The inserts of elegant self-irony have almost disappeared, thick pathos prevails (as it should, crushing common sense). In the first two films, the viewer went to the cinema, with the goal of catching a laugh at the session, and he deserved it - I was really funny, both in the first and second part. I never laughed, but I smiled a few times. Characters are trying to joke, but somehow sluggish and reluctantly; the only one who keeps the bar and all the charisma works for the viewer is Antonio Banderas (and in the game he will be stronger than all).
On the wide cardboard poster, the characters still laugh - but this is no longer a kind laugh from the realization of how good they are, that they gathered and made a nasty movie, but an angry smile of irony at the idiot viewer who bought and paid for the session. Stallone and Co made a good, strong action movie, but completely forgot about why, in fact, they get together every two years; all the pristine charm of the franchise disappeared.
The trilogy is exhausted, and therefore there is no time - it is time to quit. The situation is like Godzilla: no longer funny.

Alone, these heroes of the militants some 20-25 years ago amazed everyone, their films became almost cult. Now soloists barely pay off or immediately come out on carriers. Cunning Stallone decided to cram cheaper/aged stars into his film in 2010. There's a bunch of blunders, a crazy shaking camera. But there was an R rating - it was juicy. Well, after 2 years, the continuation is quite suitable. What a wonderful cast. The roles of Schwartz and Willis expanded. Adkins, Van Damme, Norris. There is more humor, the Glavgad is very impressive. The first two spenders gave 7 points.
And hello, 2014 and a new piece of the history of adventures Barney and his team. The change in rating from adult to child was alarming. What the hell is a PG-13? Are teenagers going to watch a movie after missing the first two? Don’t make anyone laugh, they’ll see, regardless of the limitations. And money to cut off the children is unlikely to work, because they are these old men they will not be interested. Enterprising producers decided to pour young blood into the veins of the franchise (maybe there will be ten more films with them to stamp?). And who are these mean men? Maybe someone knows them? One can be remembered - Hercules the laughing stock, Kellan Lutz. Yeah, well, he's in Dim, too. So, we push everyone who could pull the film (by a third of the duration) into a distant box, we get useless blanks. Did the movie work? Wait, that's not all.
Yes, the whole story revolves around the team. Free the old one, kill the former partner, buy new ones, break up with the old ones and get back together. Many, many conversations and time were spent on gathering new mercenaries, who are not sorry. It would have been sad if it hadn't been for Galgo (Banderas). Don't forget about Snipes, Gibson. Harrison Ford is a grumpy old man. It became a shame for Jet Lee, just for two minutes appeared as a guest star. And Schwartz doesn't know where to go.
Looking at the new faces, we remember why this film is needed. Above all else, you need action. The only sadness is the clumsy graphics and shooting from a tank at a building where their own soldiers fight / cut the air on motorcycles. All around shooting, explosions and even a couple of spectacular fights. The best is left at the beginning and at the very end.
It's a shame the series is rolling. Waiting for Expendables 3? Get Stallone, who desperately pulls the blanket over himself, scoring for screen time really colorful characters. Get a bloodless action movie that's almost depressing. And the shortest final fight ever, when it gets even more offensive than for Jean Claude Van Damme at the end of The Expendables 2. I doubt the payback of this film.
I'm not going to talk about the financial side of the project, whether the film is successful or not. My opinion is the opinion of a man who went to the film just for the pleasure of seeing the heroes of his youth. Not to salivate and grumble, they say, it took your time, leave, do not shame, etc., but just to be glad that they have more gunpowder. And enough.
I went to the movies for two of my favorite actors: Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson.
Harrison Ford, one of those people I went to the movies for, not waiting for an official record. Many people will say that they are old, and I said so almost as soon as I saw him. But in this film, everyone had their place. An old CIA man (or whoever they are), a veteran of probably more than one war, Ford’s hero was happy to have fun, as he put it, after years without adventure. Yes, and showed that Han Solo has not forgotten how to control the technique:
Mel Gibson. Of course, it is unusual to see this actor in the role of a villain, but he brought his charisma to this role and I saw in his hero a pretty old, tired of everything in the world, but still just as funny and crazy Martin Riggs. Definitely, Mel is a good fit here.
In the story... Banal? Yeah. But it's thrash, what do you want? But don’t tell me that you’ve been waiting for a great modern action movie, etc., etc., you’re just an idiot. What can you expect from Stallone, Schwartz, Statham? With the latter, even modern films balance on the verge of thrash.
They will leave soon and decide to remind everyone and themselves how it all started. When there was not all this fashion for cool gadgets, shutting down the surveillance system, secret infiltration of mines and other things. When everything was constantly exploding and rumbled. I've personally missed this for a long time. If you need something clever, then such a “cinema” is now swamped.
Separately, Schwarzenegger, because everyone here criticizes him. It was a great part, too. He no longer jumped around the building with a six-barreled machine gun, he was only covering the main instigators of the pogroms. It was nice to see him too.
Impression and emotions burst after the cinema, lovers of good old action movies must watch, especially pleased with the length of the film - more than two hours, while the previous parts left a feeling of incompleteness.
10 out of 10
Such a high mark because I have not watched such a magnificent old-school action movie in a long time.
July 25 is Judgment Day for the Expendables - 3. It was on this day that the unknown posted a theatrical version of the Expendables on the world network. Three weeks before the global release, more than two million “jumps” of the film were made from the network. The worst is the number of negative reviews on the film. I didn’t believe it and kept waiting, I came back from the session today.
Coming out of the room could not believe that Stallone managed to ditch a potentially powerful hit this year, moreover, ruin the root of what we loved the action movies of the 80-90s. First of all, the rating of 12+ is striking, neither blood nor torn bodies, as it was in the first Expendables. Then we were deprived of any fighting scenes. No, there are fights, but they are terribly few, and Jet Lee himself did not fight, but only shot and then at the end for 30 seconds. Lundgren, Stetham, Couture completely went to the background, each has five lines and not one smart action scene. But Stallone scored an expressionless “young man”, thereby taking screen time from those for whom we went to the movies.
The main team was joined by new heroes from the 90s, namely Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford, plus the main villain played by Mel Gibson. If Gibson brazenly merged in the final and were not allowed to arrange a beautiful fighting fight with Sly, Banderas and Snipes frankly saved the film. The first was always joking and it was with his appearance in the frame that the hall was animated and laughed, and the second was very pleased, because he had not been in the cinema for a long time. Snipes was in prison for tax evasion, which was also a nicely played moment in his life.
It gets worse. Terrible special effects, computer science cutting eyes. Little expressive action, because of the rating all the shootouts seemed kindergarten. Schwarzenegger, unlike the second film, is even less, and Jet Lee appeared for a minute and a half, of which 30 seconds shot.
Friends, the movie was really disappointing. It would seem that who better than Sylvester Stallone does not know how and in what form you need to serve an action movie. After all, the second film was not so bad, it at least took into account the mistakes of the first part. The third, the Expendables, lost everything.
I've waited a long time for this movie! Long and very worried about him! How many people wrote about him! At first, they promised almost all Hollywood veterans to put in the cast! And Nicolas Cage, and Jackie Chan, and Milla Jovovich, and even Van Damma. Yes, and his role as the evil twin brother of the villain in the second part.
I want to pay special attention to Steven Seagal. He's almost been cast. And Mel Gibson was approved for the main villain. By the way, his second villain role after Machete Kills. And one of the news on the "Filmics" already began shooting the final scene, where Seagal was supposed to fight Gibson. But it didn't work out. Once again, Seagal is out of the Expendables. This was sad news for me, but I still hope that he will appear in the fourth part.
Well, that's a shame. It is a shame that such a beautiful film is so unfairly criticized. It's just ugly. I don't understand the critics - what they don't like. What should they serve and on what dish so that they like it?
First and foremost, The Expendables 3 is not a gay drama, TomCruz Fiction, or an over-twisted spy thriller. Nope. It's primarily an old-school action movie. It's nostalgia for the 70s and 90s, when such action movies were fashionable and highly regarded. This is the memory of "Rambo," "Presidential Man," Braddock, "Commandos," "Above the Law" and "In Siege," "Red Heat" and "Terminator." What a list! Everyone over 40 grew up on these movies. And they will certainly understand me and the Expendables 3.
The acting here is as it should be in such films – easy and relaxed. Humor - not that it is very thin, but not very crumpled - watched with my mother and laughed until they fell.
In general, “The Expendables” can be compared to “Machete” by Robert Rodriguez. In principle, this is a little banter over militants, bh. and old school. But if in “Machete” more attention is paid to thrash, then in “The Expendables” blood is not so much and there is no stupidity, which is in “Machete”.
And to find fault with the plot in the “Expendables” is inappropriate. This is a film in which the plot is most common for such films. Revisit the above examples and you will understand.
The third part of "The Expendables" can be called a semi-copy of the second. But despite this diversity of actors and increased timekeeping by 10 minutes changed everything.
In general, the film is not so much an action movie as a personal drama. Yes, it has a lot of action, but compared to the first and second parts, here added the same genre. The feelings of the main characters are revealed, we see their true faces, etc. For this, by the way, many criticized “Iron Man 3”.
As for the young actors – well, to be honest, they looked a little silly on the screen. Compared to the veterans, they looked stupid. Yeah, like that. And for this film a small minus.
I really liked the character of Antonio Banderas. Extremely talkative he was unusually funny, funny and generally made the film unusual and original.
So don't believe the critics, it's a great action movie, with no visible snares. Every movie has it, but it depends. I am very happy and will definitely go to the cinema.

I want to start with the background. The first part was done by Sylvester Stallone himself, which plunged us into the atmosphere of the fourth Rimbaud and Rocky Balboa. Sly knows a lot about a decent script, he perfectly manages charismatic roles, especially those that he writes for himself. And so our famous John Rimbaud decided to do what the rest of us were afraid to do - to collect real action heroes in one movie. The film was released in 2010, made the expected impression on the male audience and cold from critics. Again, the standard situation for an action movie.
The second film, announced almost during the rental of the first film. There, in the end, assembled a truly powerful lineup within category B. The film looked much better, brighter, funnier and more interesting. I have watched the film many times. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris are a really powerful lineup!
The second part of the superfighter “The Expendables” has not yet been released, as Sylvester Stallone began preparing for the shooting of another sequel. I was as happy as I could be! Favorite franchise, so rapidly developing and does not stop at any part, with favorite actors, staffed to the end! Yes, once again I want to pay tribute to Sylvester Stallone for what he started, does and will do.
“Is that your whole team?”
- Time was running out.
- It's pretty tight.
However, the release of the film was not as successful as in the previous two times: there was a leak to the network and the film was watched before the premiere by millions of viewers. Their ratings were unsatisfactory, which made those who were going to watch "The Expendables 3" in the movies think. But those who resisted and wanted to go to the film at least out of respect for the work of veterans of militants, waited for the premiere and gave their verdicts.
“Why did they put you in jail?”
- For taxes.
After a long wait in revising the trailers and videos, I finally saw a sequel to my favorite action movie, and the first thing I said when I left the room was, “Yes!” The film turned out the way I expected, that is, a standard action movie with favorite veterans, and at the same time special. First, actors. Their game exceeded all expectations! Yes, and understandable: this time in the series of “Cannon meat” we were waiting for real Hollywood stars like Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford, as well as returned to freedom Wesley Snipes. Each character, as it was in the structure of the first films, has its own role and vocation, which gives us a pleasant range of characters. Also, this detail creates a certain variety of action styles. I really like the similarities between the actors and their characters and their story. The humor, as always, is excellent! The main share belonged to the inimitable Antonio Banderas, who amused us with his chatter throughout the climactic part of the film. The drama is very decent and appropriate, which brightened up the action.
“If he runs out of bullets, he will talk everyone to death.”
In general, the film turned out to be quite calm, of course, compared with "The Expendables" and "The Expendables 2". But that’s the highlight: less blood, less evil, more meaning, more irony. Stallone cut the film’s age rating to attract a wider audience. The director really has an interesting style. The camera work is very pleasant, everything was shown exactly as it should be. Young actors turned out to be good, which made me exhale. Many of the shortcomings of the previous films in the series have been corrected. Visually, the third part has become much more realistic.
Stallone gave us a great gift for the third time, and if we respect his work and the work of all these actors, then we should not compare it to something bigger, bigger, more unpredictable. I’ve seen the movie twice before, and I liked it even more the second time. It proves here that Stallone was making the movie for revision, and it's been in effect for a long time. Everything in the movie was great! Nothing new, just the underlined old. “The Expendables 3” is an average action movie with a corresponding plot. Why wait for more? It is better to wait for the continuation and be proud to have found such an event as the saga of the adventures of the Expendables!
" - It was fun.
- Yeah, that's the point. ?
Today I went to the cinema for the new “Expendables” with my friend. Throughout the film, he grunted, grumbled and expressed his displeasure in every possible way. I think that my friend, like many others, simply has a different attitude to the film.
Let me remind you that the whole “salt” of the franchise is the so-called “Adventures of Old Men-Robbers”. All these guys 20-25 years ago were the stars of the militants, clearly not pretending to be very twisted plot. So why are these guys expected to have a flexibly thought-out story? "The Expendables" is nostalgia for the old and fervent action movies of the 80s and 90s, where one Rambo/Terminator/El Mariachi scatters the bad guys right and left. The plot is simple as two pennies, but the main thing in such a film is the action scene. Who better than Stallone knows how to do that? Give these guys just a reason to shoot.
The film pleased the extraordinary Banderos, the flying Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes with his knives and my favorite Gibson in the role of the main villain. And Arnie, of course.
But why would you put young people in the movie? It was the first time I saw them on screen, but in the film they are absolutely superfluous. Who will look at an unknown youngster if such a company of old people gathers here?
Looking forward to the fourth part and Pierce Brosnan
Another series of adventures of the main defenders (and now the defenders) of Hollywood and the whole Universe, I really liked it. Perhaps there was such a mood, but all rude, but such charming old-time jokes were “at the box office”, and the huge number of explosions and shootouts gracefully emphasized the muscularity of these beautiful people. However, in this series, Stallone decided to step on a path that had not been previously explored, and prove that the brain is also to some extent a muscle, and they can also spread enemies.
“The Expendables 3”, despite the expansion of the team, and a very significant expansion, became to a certain extent a benefit of Stallone himself, as he is constantly on the forefront of the action, whether it is positive, whether it is negative – does not matter. To the foreground in this picture are the experiences of this particular hero, and they are largely the engine of the plot. Everything else is simple and standard, so it is the behavioral features of Stallone’s character that become key for the development of the story and the next chases and shootouts. If we talk about history itself, it is as simple as five pennies, and is again devoted to preventing a universal catastrophe that can be provoked by bad people. In some strange way, Russia is present in the frame, or rather, not directly present, but an attentive viewer will notice a lot of Russian letters in various places of this film. Why this is so, it does not become clear to the end. The fictional country in which the action takes place at the end of the picture makes one think biasedly about the nearest neighbors. If you follow this logic, this country is no better than pirate Somalia, and then the narrative turns into elegant trolling, if not the American government, then the current international situation, at least. I can only imagine that this happened by accident.
A distinctive feature of these “Expendables” is that the mega-stars of militants are no longer among the main characters, but among the secondary characters, that is, they act as a pleasant addition, for which, however, it is quite possible to go to the movies. To be fair, it is worth admitting that Jason Statham looks most interesting from this team, but senior comrade Bruce Willis is still missing: this name has long become synonymous with militants in principle. Instead of the old proven team of irresistibles this time, in addition to the main and main Stallone, young and daring fighters appear on the stage, to whom, however, you immediately imbue with sympathy. In this new team, a girl appears, so the sexual discrimination in this picture is clearly put to an end. Youth is shown, surprisingly, not from the negative side; not at all in order to emphasize the coolness of the original irrepressibles they introduced. This team has its pros and cons. They have a much faster mind, and this is the case when the brain is responsible for the young part of the team, and they can achieve the same results much easier. They are less experienced and that is their disadvantage. I will say banality, but the young and older clearly balance each other, and it seems that Stallone achieved exactly this effect: without inflecting in either direction, to make a film that is interesting to all generations, but where he himself, his hero will undoubtedly be in the foreground.
But the main advantage in this picture was Antonio Banderas, who appears completely unexpectedly, in an absolutely unexpected way, and is also one of the main sources of humor in the picture. It would probably be boring if this actor embodied a familiar image for himself, like most of the artists. It would be just another exhibit in Sylvester Stallone's piggy bank, nothing more. But Banderas appears in a picture clearly original and tailored specifically for this film: a bit annoying, but surprisingly charming and certainly memorable. Banderas has managed to keep a fine line when his character can be both comical and tragic at the same time. This is some sad clown of the picture, when the viewer knows what is on his soul, and because of this, he can not calmly look at him, despite all the tricks of the hero and his behavior.
In this picture, it was clearly decided to focus on explosions and chases, so, despite the frequent change of scenes, the surrounding landscapes look modest. We are not happy with beautiful pictures of nature, beautiful cities, but we see warehouses, buildings, an abandoned hotel, finally. This abandoned hotel, by the way, awakens the imagination, you begin to think about what was there before and how it was. However, from the former splendor, we are shown only the casino table, everything else is skeletons. So it becomes obvious that he was chosen only for the sake of entourage, without reference to the plot in principle.
As I said above, I liked the movie. Stylish, charming in its own way, very funny, and, surprisingly for such a duration, not boring. Let the disclosure of characters and characters you will not find, but a good acting (not all, but some) you can clearly look. Excellent entertainment, and clearly in such a format that you can shoot indefinitely. To be honest, I want more.
When you watch the Expendables, any part, you involuntarily catch yourself thinking, “why can’t we?” so use the full old and beloved actors. Why we have directors can not play together more than 2 faded stars, why in general they are satisfied with standard episodes, why we have so many stars?
Take a dozen stars and get an organic picture, irrepressible and personally producer, brilliant producer Stallone proved that this is possible.
Usually, continuations are sinned by incompleteness, contrivedness ... even the second parts, and the third almost always. Has anyone noticed this here? the film turned out to be even more holistic than the second part, it is objectively better than the second part. The second was better than the first, but it was a bit fragmentary. Here all the obvious shortcomings of the first films are eliminated.
Of course, there is something to complain about, some protractedness, an extra 15 minutes that could be safely cut out.
What else can be noted - less blood, compared to the part.
Now on the cast: Stallone is glossy, as if it's not a retired action movie at all, especially at the end. Statham didn't cut anyone's throat and behaved like a boy, a couple of Lungren and Snipes shine, the doctor somehow falls out. Banderos is brilliant. He absorbed most of the comedy part of the film. If you step back a little... the second film was of course a cabbage half... immediately the time for laughter is significantly reduced, everything has become organic, it is impossible not to mention the loules from a couple of Ford-Stallone and personally from the Terminator (he sighed calmly that there were no jokes on this topic).
Speaking of Ford, he looks much more organic than the arrogant Bryuska, of course, lulz references to his past roles were present (and in general, when will the 5th part of Indiana Jones be?).
Now to the antagonist - forget that horror of Machete 2, because Gibson is the brilliance, the brilliance, the brilliance in this role. The intellectual bastard came out great. In general, the film has a lot of style and gloss, which is surprising for an action movie (although the fashion of 2013 is immediately visible).
Final fight. Of course, in the second part was epic Stalonne vs. Van Damme, here intellectually insane, somewhat oiled end, but crazy and beautiful.
The fighter shines, just the tongue does not turn in the direction where the label looms - a retired militant.
Speaking of Schwarzenegger, I completely forgot, it is imperceptible in the film and this is good, the physical form of his as was rubbish and remained, again almost completely static role (while Stallone does everything).
What is the film missing? Mickey Rourke only him, his role, his role is irreplaceable, without him there is no drama, that game, that acting is not enough without him.
What you want in the fourth part: promised de Niro and Al Pacino in a pair and Rourka, necessarily.
But I went to see the action stars, not the Twilight vampires and some blondes.
This is probably one of the most controversial films for me. Like many people, I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time. I didn't read what he was going to say. The only thing I kept an eye on while the film was being made was the list of actors who would be in it. I won’t talk about the story, everything is in the description. He's not very important in an action movie. I am very disappointed in the 12+ rating. I'm probably not alone. I don't understand creators. Here are filmed people whose golden part of their career remained in the last century and who are now forgotten. Do they hope that their film will be attended by 12-year-old children, who now see nothing but Thor and Spider-Man? Nonsense. This was forgivable to recently released RoboCop. But there was a kind robot uncle. It's still clear. Not here. This is a huge disadvantage for the painting.
Because it doesn't look like it used to. So enjoying the shootouts of someone who grew up on films like Terminator, Universal Soldier, etc. is not going to work out much. Because there's no violence at all. I wish I could. But now I'm going to do something that almost disgusts me. This is a young man who was taken into this picture I don't know why. When Scott Adkins was hired as assistant to Van Damma in the second part, it was the right thing to do. Because this is a man who will soon replace the militant stars of all those who are now. But it's terrible. I don’t know who they are.
All these young people looked terrible on the screen and just annoyed. Poor Lundgren, who had little screen time in the previous parts, was given even less. I came to see him, and I had to watch half the movie. Stallone, too, has become a greyhound more and more than 90 percent of the time, we now look only at him. It was very painful for him to pull a blanket.
The weakest part of the film is fighting. They're almost gone! I only remember Stetham's fight against a fat friend, and the final Stallone against Gibson. Which lasted 2 minutes at best. Not even allowed to fight those people who are masters in this. I mean Lundgren, who's a professional karate player. Or Couture, about the fighting merits of which no one needs to talk. Or Snipes, who studied a lot of stuff. But Stallone gave Statham, his beloved, his limbs to wave.
The strength of the film is, of course, the acting. The names of the actors. That’s what this franchise is all about.
I can only say that the newcomers from the old guard fit in just amazingly. Although they don’t have much time, they’re going to do a much better job than Stallone, who we see throughout the film. Snipes is great. After three years in prison, he has not lost anything and is happy to deal with bad guys. At the beginning of the film, I burned. The whole room laughed. I can say the same about Banderas. I never liked him very much, but he was very useful here. I'm glad Willis was a crook and dropped out of the project. Because Harrison Ford played much better than him. Old Ford is 72 years old, but he's not going to retire. Participation in this film and the upcoming 7 Star Wars confirm this.
Good and Kelsey Gremer, but his name still pales against the background of much more starry comrades on the set.
Well, the main decoration of the film was the villain performed by the chic Mel Gibson. What's in Machete, what's here, as a villain, he's perfect. Amazing acting. But Mel clearly had to argue about the ending of the film. They put it down very quickly. Everything else is great.
Too bad Arnold got so little time. I thought it would be bigger than the second one. Yeah, I don't think so.
Bottom line: the whole movie was ruined by two things: the young man and the rating. Saved the old guard, because of which almost all people go to this film. No matter how much I scold this film, I will not give it a bad rating. Because whatever it was, I enjoyed playing Arnie, Lundgren, Gibson, Ford, Snipes and all the people whose films I grew up on and will always remember.
So, I watched yesterday on the big screen the third part of “The Expendables”.
Well, what can be said here - Sylvester Stallone and the director he invited from distant Australia, a young but already made a name for himself Patrick Hughes, are definitely good. Sly once again assembled his wild gang of veterans of the good old-school action movie, and the men shook the old days. In style and spirit, the triquel is more reminiscent of the second part than the very first film. First comes a mission in the middle of nowhere, won by a team of mercenaries with a crushing score, then they suddenly get lulas, then there is awareness, drowning grief in beer, then gradually comes understanding - and a new campaign against the thief with a truly epic battle of local scale. Well, with the final one-on-one showdown, I'm sure. It's like the good old days. (8)
“The Expendables 3” is a movie, most of which you will spend, albeit with a slightly stupid, but completely sincere smile on your face. Especially if you are still in the great and glorious era of VHS.
What is especially beautiful is a completely undisguised fan service for all fans of the genre and actors. Almost each of the veterans manages to make a couple of Easter eggs from their glorious (film) past. Here and the hat of Rocky with jokes Rambo from Sly, and outfit a-la Terminator and a joke almost from “Commando” from Arnie, and what is the fireworks of humor from Wesley Snipes, which took place both on the topic of prisons and tax evasion (for which he served in real life), and reminiscent of the same glorious Blade... It is similar to the March cat (in boots, news!) Antonio Banderas gushing unobtrusively with hot southern humour! But everyone was definitely outplayed by Mel Gibson, who brilliantly performed the part of the main villain. The way he played! There was both drive and real drama. And also references from "Lethal Weapon" and a reminder of one very serious film by Gibson-director. There was even a hint of his personal life.
And then there's the cool old man Harrison Ford. A true falcon, though not a thousand-year-old. Well, the team did not notice the loss of a fighter, which (according to a certain Bruce W.) also went through a couple of jokes. About the Viking with a big knife and a brutal grin (Dolf, as always, was beautiful in this role!), I generally modestly keep silent.
Oh, yeah, there was a bunch of young people. Pumped pig from Twilight, which portrayed Hercules this winter in the murky sub-blockbuster R. Harlin. And another kid. But of all these young people, only Ronda Rousey really pleased. For this blonde really knows how to fight, which was clearly demonstrated by her.
In short, I consider this film to be strictly mandatory for all fans of the action movie as a film genre. And even if I personally was sorry for the time that took young people on the screen, but how good were the old people! All shooting, hand-to-hand, fighting in the building, tanks and helicopters... And guns, knives, turtles. Clean and honest entertainment. Decorated, however, with a talented performance that is still powerful muscles, that is impregnated with genuine acting talent. And let the plot of this picture rushes strictly in a straight line, like an armored train on the plain, but we love these guys not for excessive melodramaticity. We want them to be great, and we want them to be great. And that's beautiful.
Good movie, definitely.
The third part of the adventures of legendary gentlemen, unfortunately, failed. In my opinion, this may not even be the age of the actors, perhaps because of the inexperience of director Patrick Hughes. Even in the cinema, the film was rather boring.
In Expendables 3, I didn’t see the vivid landscapes, the spectacular large-scale scenes, although all this was enough in the previous parts. Spare money and special effects, which are conspicuous with their poor quality, especially with regard to explosions. It was even noticeable that the same explosion was filmed from different angles, but the directors issued it as several different explosions.
New, not always the best. In the first two parts of the claims to the cast I had, because they were all familiar to us, and most importantly were from the same “old guard”. But why, the directors decided to dilute the list of “The Expendables” young, personally I am not very familiar, actors. I won’t say that the young play poorly, no, they play quite ordinary, but they play. But I think this trend will not bring anything good later.
Moments at which you can laugh, has become much less, and as such they do not cause laughter. Only Antonio Banderas pulls the film well, the fact that he was in the third part, pleased. But what upset me was the large number of unnecessary dialogues, the duration of which was noticeable. Of course, there is a lot of action in the film, but again, the amount of quality cannot be achieved. There are no impressive tricks, exciting shooting shoots, and the places where most of the fights take place seem specially reserved for filming low-budget action films.
I don’t know what the people who filmed it were hoping for or why Sylvester Stallone lost his enthusiasm as a director. At first, I thought, well, why can't you bring a movie to mind by spending more time on it? Why stamp new parts every year? Personally, I'd rather wait another six months or a year and be happy with the movie than be disappointed now. But then I remembered the phrase of Arnold Schwarzenegger: “Time is running out,” which gives the answer to the above questions, if you know what I mean.
6 out of 10
The hardest thing is to give up what is consistently profitable, so Stallone took a hard breath, gave himself another Botox injection, and again decided to lead the Expendables squad with the hope that this scheme will work for the third time, because none of his work outside the superstar team was a box office success. And this is quite regrettable, because “Shock Rematch” or “Escape Plan” looks much better than the third part of “The Expendables”.
This is the very rare case when everything is the same as in the previous two parts, but during the viewing it seems that something is still wrong. And when you try to think about it in order to understand what does not suit here, then for this film it is a certain death.
Let’s start with a script that was probably written by an elementary school student instead of How I Spent My Summer. Any of the previous parts of The Expendables were taken under the piggyback, and when you watch the film, you already know in advance what will happen next. It's nothing new. The initial fight, then Slyam is driven by a sense of revenge that keeps him awake. And, finally, the final fight, in which the villain has a whole army of trained fighters, but who again can not do anything with the team of “star old men” and “green recruits”, and sometimes just carefully stacked under bullets and grenades, which in the film, let alone was in excess.
Perfectly aware of the fact that “children’s” scenarios sin almost all the militants of the 80s and 90s, this could be closed eyes, but sometimes the viewer runs into outright stupidity. Why is Barney disbanding his old team? To save their lives from the Stonebanks persecution. Noble. Especially impressionable even to tears. Then why is Barney recruiting "unshooted" young newcomers already on the hunt for Stonebanks, not hiding that it's a one-way ticket? It's a strange display of nobility, even if you're willing to die. Why is Barney so genuinely surprised that Stonebanks has an army of mercenaries and calls it a brilliant plan to break into the building by cutting off all the locks and power? Why would Barney, knowing Stonebanks was watching them on a monitor, lay out his entire plan of action for his team? And finally, where did the enemy soldiers appear on the roof when the entire army was still downstairs, but it had to be “cleaned” to get to the helicopter? However, in the second film there was also a descent down on high-voltage wires, and nothing, rolled.
Despite the new “star faces”, there is nothing new in the cast. Harrison Ford is one-on-one copying Bruce Willis because the role was originally written for him. Antonio Banderas behaves like a passionate Spaniard, and on his shoulders most of the humor in the film, but it's also an old trick with a character that makes everyone laugh. Others, such as Wesley Snipes, catastrophically did not have enough time to reveal, but his joke for serving time in prison for taxes, the viewer appreciated. Everything else is in its place. Jet Lee and Schwarzenegger are catastrophically small. Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture are always in second roles, and Jason Statham will not escape from the shadow of Sylvester Stallone himself.
About recruits in general, you can be silent - cardboard dummies, not at all deposited in memory. If there is a fourth part about them it will be best to forget, their presence will go to the franchise only to the detriment, because the "Expendables" were originally conceived as a team of combat retirees, not young.
Who deserves attention is Mel Gibson in the role of Stonebanks, but he manages to spoil the impression at the end when he loses his entire image and runs headlong one-on-one with Barney. Many will smile: Gibson with Stallone? Yes, Gibson with Stallone! The fight was negligible short, but so fierce and brutal that it can be attributed to one of the advantages of the film. The rage that Gibson has held in his eyes since Martin Riggs, he has not lost. Overall, he looks a lot better than Van Damme in a similar role and a really more dangerous opponent than anyone Barney has faced before.
Despite the abundance of shootings and fights, there is almost no blood in the film. For a franchise so fond of throwing knives of any length and shooting bullets that ripped bodies to shreds, this is also a verdict. Stallone won the rating of the second film from Chuck Norris himself. As for the third film, what happened is unclear. The desire of producers to make the rating of the film more “soft” for the series can be deadly. But to give credit – to kill five hundred people on the screen with almost no blood – it is strong.
But in general, I don’t want to say that everything is so bad. Fortunately, when the viewer goes to such films, he does not expect any semantic load, namely entertainment, and the picture of it somehow gives. I hope that in the fourth film all the mistakes will be corrected.
How to make the movie better. Add to the plot at least some unbeaten topic, but do not complicate it. Return the R rating with all its “delicacy”: blood and mater in the original. The focus should be on the “old guard” and not on the young. Reduce timing: two-plus hours for a mindless “action” is too much. Add a lot of new superstar faces. And add timekeeping to Schwartz!
After the crazy sequel to the Expendables, it was a sin not to go to the premiere with friends, taking a couple of cans of something with you, and with anticipation to plunge into the magical world of violence, blood and explosions.
On the one hand, Sly did everything according to the canons, inviting new old actors: Gibson as the villain, Ford, who replaced Willis, Snipes and Banderos – in the team of the Expendables, and endowing them with a pair of perks for HarActor interaction with each other. On the other hand, “newcomers” looked more pale compared to the epochal scene with Arnie, Sly, Chucky and Bruce from the second film. I expected something like that at the end of the third part – it was, it was not. For some reason, a lot of screen time was devoted to the character of Gibson, showing unnecessary scenes with his participation. Instead, they could give it to Wes, whose hero, along with Banderos, was remembered most of all, it is a pity that his benefit happened at the very beginning, and then there were completely different guys.
The other guys. Stallone called in the film four young “actors” one way or another related to martial arts, boxing and so on. The goal is clear: to save on fees and present to the public possible future stars of the fighters, but, sorry, I came to look at the “old school”, the rest I will look at in the relevant sports, especially since in the film their characters faded, but undoubtedly in the fights the young looked good. This leads to the following problem.
Fights. The fights are great, incendiary, as in previous films, but the gaps between them like Michael Bay are boring to the point of madness. In the thirtieth minute from boredom irresistibly pulled to sleep. I don’t want the fourth part to fall into the fourth Transformers.
The battle scenes themselves finally moved away from the attempts at at least some realism of the first part. Watch and don't ask stupid questions! There will be only one answer - patamushta!
It remains to guess who the authors will call in the quadriquel: Jackie Chan, Cynthia Rothrock, Bruce Campbell, Robert de Niro, Samuel Jackson, Michelle Yeo, Keanu Reeves, Hulk Hogan, Alexander Domogarov, Brad Pitt, Steven Seagal? That's enough for a couple of movies. I hope, Sylvester, in the next part you will draw the right conclusions, but I will not go to the Expendables again!
How old are Banderas and Ford!

If you haven’t seen the first two movies, you should watch them. The third part of the reference action turned out to be very ambiguous. On the one hand, this is the action we were waiting for, on the other hand, we were waiting for an adult action.
The first thing I didn’t like was the 12+ rating, which made the film absolutely bloodless and puppet. If you remember the first part, it was enough. There was a real massacre, with fountains of paint and torn limbs. It's not here.
Most people will not understand the absurdity of what is happening on the screen. These are young people who are used to watching smart action movies. Stallone from the screens, as if telling us: the action of the past years was based on endless shooting, chases and hundreds of dead extras, the action of the current years is cunning hacks, penetration and clean execution of tasks, and a little shoot. It is necessary to perceive the film only with irony, so thought, so wanted to shoot. That's exactly what they did.
The plot of the film is calculated in advance. The viewer is more interested not in what will happen next, but how it will be. That's the strength of Stalone's script. He is not wise with the storylines, he focuses on the cinematic nature of the action and the presence of crazy thrash in the frame. Isn't that why we go to the big screen?
The cast impressed again. Everyone played a special personality. Despite the number of characters in the film, their characters are spelled out and shown as in the previous parts, at a high level. Though few words were given to them, have you ever seen a talkative mercenary? Have you ever seen mercenaries? From this rule falls the character of Antonio Banderas, he was given to talk, a lot.
There are silly dialogues in the film, but again, it's meant to be. This is an action game of the 21st century with the style of the 20th.
This is not a masterpiece of cinema, but it is worth a look.

P.S. The film had leaked weeks earlier, in good quality and extremely poor voice acting. Do not look at this leak, spoil the impression. Better go to the movies.
I waited for the premiere of Expendables 3, resisting the temptation to watch online.
I can’t say that the time spent is a pity, although of course the film is very far from a masterpiece. Basically, the first part was beautiful, dynamic, ironic and exciting. The second, inferior to the first, but still viewing, brought pleasure. The third part, much more sluggish. The dynamics are over the edge and that’s it. However, the essence of the film is in the actors, not in the plot.
For me personally, the whole film, as a work of fiction that should be, any Hollywood effort to make a movie, was played out in one episode, namely in the monologue of the magnificent and beautiful Mel Gibson on the plane, where he tries to bring the seed of doubt into the soul of Barney Ross' new team. Gibson is brilliant, he plays every role as William Wallace, Mad Max and womanizer. The whole monologue, in itself, has little meaning, words can not be heard, but only to admire his play, facial expressions, eyes in which madness, despair, then unbearable bitterness flares up. All this, all the more bright to smile, against the background of a dead, nothing expressing Sylvester's face. He is a great legend of world cinema, his contribution, we cannot appreciate, he is good as a producer and director, in his youth he was divinely good himself, but none of these qualities helped him become an artist.
In addition, the whole show, called the circle of worship of the old wolves of the militants of the last century, very nicely diluted Antonio (beautiful, favorite of all women) Banderos. He's good. At 54, he looks like a boy, lean, toned, plastic. No hypertrophied muscles or botox smiles. His acting skills are certainly not questioned, he coped perfectly with the role, and personally for me was the brightest character.
Then comes the actor who was a revelation to me. Kelan Lutz, became popular, lit up in the acclaimed film adaptation of the novel Twilight, Stephanie Meyer. The role of the handsome Emmett was dead, in the sense that apart from the impressive size and pleasant appearance, this role did not require any talents. Dali had even more bland roles. Here the character of Lats, has character, waywardness and stands out against the background of beginners. Coupled with his outstanding appearance, it all looks more vivid than even the characters of experienced actors.
This, the whole acting, in the film, for me personally ended.
Then there are fantastic fights and special effects. There is something else that makes you sit and watch the movie until the end.
Old Arnold Schwarzenegger, such a native and beloved Terminator from childhood, all wrinkled, barely moving. It's just a heartache. A very old Indiana Jones Harrison Ford. He is 72 years old, but he is also a character and childhood idol. And Stallone may have gone overboard with surgeries and Botox, but he's also our beloved Rimbo, our unique Rocky, our Cobra. I'd like to thank him. This film, of course, is not a work of art. The film is not so good, frank three, but these very old people from childhood are what the whole world watches this film for. He's pulling the right strings. Commercially, the project was very successful. You should watch it in the cinema.

And this is only a tribute to veterans of militants, idols of childhood.
This film was waiting for many fans of action. Heroes single, crushing hordes of enemies, were idols of children of the 80s and 90s. But time passed, and the militants, where ordinary people spoke on the front lines, gradually faded into the shadows. They were replaced by giant robots and superheroes. With huge budgets, almost every film easily beat back production costs and brought good profits.
"Unstoppable." This film brought the old guard back to the screen, uniting many bright stars of the militants in one grinding team.
This is the third part of the franchise.
Greed. It was this negative trait of human character that prevented Bruce Willis from joining the Third Expendables. And it also forced the creators to reduce the age limit, relative to the first two parts, from 16+ to 12+. The desire to reach a large audience may be justified, but it hurts the viewer who liked the first two parts of The Expendables. It's amazing that people sacrificed the spectacle so that 12-year-olds could come to the session.
It would seem that the “Hollywood team” should provide visual pleasure from what you see on the screen. In this part, young recruits were pulled up to the tested fighters. Unfortunately, all these characters turned out to be so flat that it seems to merge into one hero for the viewer. At the stage of development of the film, there were rumors about the involvement of Milla Jovovich in the project, who would create a springboard for the female version of The Expendables, but Stallone never managed to recruit her. Instead of... Instead, UFC champion Ronda Rousey appeared on the screens. It is not about the ability to play here.
Studios decided to invest in the film about $ 90 million in the calculation of profits of 300-350 million. It is clear that most of the money went to the fees of the film crew, but the action scenes were shot at the level of, sorry, Nevsky films. And in some moments there is a banal delay in the action and extension of the timekeeping of the film. And it seems that people did not create a militant, but only his likeness.
One of the advantages of this film is the hero Antonio Banderos. Quite banal, interesting and funny. Against the background of other characters in the film, he has a certain personality. And the only things that really got me excited about childhood were the references to Arnie. Of course, the incorruptible "Get to the chopper!" and "I lied" were mercilessly eaten by Russian dubbing, but still they crashed into the ears and returned to the scenes of the immortal "Commando" and "Predator". I also liked how the writers beat the return of Wesley Snipes from places not so distant to the cinema.
In the end, we have something that is not a real fighter. The almost complete absence of blood and the total embargo on the dismemberment have done their black thing. That is, in this film I did not see what I want to watch action movies for. Watching this movie can be compared to watching porn without the process of la penetration in the frame. And so
I expected the third part of The Expendables to be a continuation of a holiday started a few years ago by Sylvester Stallone and company. So I got it. With some nuances the truth, but about everything in order.
There is no point in talking about the plot in detail. It will be guessed by anyone who has at least the most superficial idea of the militants of the early 90s of the last century. So I'll go straight to personalities.
Sylvester Stallone - all the same inimitable and impenetrable John Rambo, whom he was remembered in the most standard of his films
Wesley Snipes - sullen, gloomy, lame. Something reminiscent of his hero from the trilogy "Blade".
Antonio Banderas - here the creators hit the bull's-eye. A veteran, and his character is like a fresh stream. He brilliantly played the "Spanish" - real, hot, temperamental. And the humor in his performance - the hall just exploded with laughter and me included. It was so funny, not matching the humor of the last part.
Harrison Ford - this elderly master of action seems just tired of standing aside and he decided to hang out himself. And I did it very successfully. No worse than his predecessor, Bruce Willis.
Mel Gibson - perfectly fit into the role of the villain. No worse than Jean-Claude Van Damme.
As for the youth, against the background of the elderly, it was not very noticeable, but did not spoil the general atmosphere of the holiday.
The action in the film is set in the best traditions of action movies and video games of the late 80s - early 90s. I sometimes felt like I was just watching the level from Contra ("Contra, a cult video game on Dendy). Some may think it's a disadvantage, but not me. Because that's why I went to the movie. The music is a good complement to what is happening on the screen. Brian Tyler without thinking slyly, remixed quite trumping themes from the second part of the film. It was very good.
Now for the nuances. I know people like Hulk Hogan, Steven Seagal and Jackie Chan could have played in the film. I will not lie and crook my soul - they were very much lacking for such a holiday!
And yet it was a celebration. I left the room with a smile across my mouth. And with the thought that I was lucky to live at the same time with people like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Lee, Wesley Sanipes, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammer
Thank you for being there. Because they are the best!
10 out of 10
P.S. In Russia, the film was released in two versions - 12+ and 18+. Do not deprive yourself of pleasure and, if possible, watch the second version, without bills.
And again in battle, unstoppable! That's just somehow dilapidated old men, and the renewal of the team still to the level of the usual idols to last was unable. Quotes, as it was with the second part of the acclaimed Hollywood action movie, the film will not be analyzed. Except for snot-pink.
The beloved Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone “Rambo”, “Escape Plan”) again gets into trouble on the “work front”: this time the main antagonist is Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson “What Women Want”, “Merry Holidays”). It was he who stood with Barney at the origins of the Expendables. But the initiative turned out to be punishable, and his own team was hired for his purely planned murder. But Stonebanks survived and continued with a new motto: “Never work for the government.” A meeting with a sworn friend, a revamped gang and more shootings and brawls. And how is the charming Moon (Ronda Rousey) involved?
Frankly, the third part loses significantly in its unsurpassedness to the previous two. From somewhere came such uncharacteristic of Stallone reasoning about life and banal dialogues from the category “I can’t risk you – please!” - All right. The film is really lengthy, too fragmented and inconsistent. Phrases that threaten to become winged, and special humor are also in short supply. Banderas began to annoy already on the third frame, Schwarzeneger seemed banal and unimpressive. Either the team decided to change direction and audience, or the idea starts to run out. Although Kellan Lutz (“Twilight”, “War of the Gods”) pleased.
In fact, the new audience of the third sequel to the film is unlikely to attract the Expendables. But loyal fans, eagerly waiting for the return of the crazy Hollywood gang, will have to taste. Although not enough, oh how missing Chuck Norris, I'll be back and truly unstoppable humor.
Eh, childhood, action movies with tough guys, saving the world, fighting, shooting chases. The third attempt at ponostalgia turns into a failure, unlike the first two, which more or less give a chance to do it. In this film, there are catastrophically many disadvantages and weaknesses that cannot be overcome by the small advantages that it has. The film is bad in many ways that make up the main impression of the film.
Plot. The third time the same thing didn't work out, because the audience had already seen it. The writers needed to fantasize more and come up with a smarter plot, rather than a simple fairy tale, like a former friend is a villain, now he needs to be found and killed. No, that's not going to work any more, my friends. In this regard, the film is nowhere weaker. After an unsuccessful mission, Barney decides to dissolve the old team and, in record time, assemble a new one that will go to die. Isn't that crazy? Don't let old friends in so they don't die, but take new ones that aren't sorry at all? As expected, the newcomers will be captured, and Barney, along with his old comrades, will of course go to rescue them. The next generation are experts in technology. This is ridiculous, because in the entire film there are two or three scenes in which the characters are trying to do something using computers, and these episodes last from the power of ten seconds.
Rating. PG-13 for this kind of movie is a big deal. The intention is to make as much money as possible by making the film available to children. The wrong decision, which further damages the picture, as the brutal scenes of the murder were the “trick” of the film, or something. The audience wanted to see real cool guys who will fight to the end and brutally kill, but, no, you can’t show such scenes with this rating.
Action. In the first hour of the film, the audience doesn’t even have to hope for action or anything like that. Good, high-quality action, with shootouts, fights, great tricks begins 30 minutes before the end of the film. This is not what the audience expected, at least not me.
A clash of generations. Superficial, dull, boring. First, for many viewers, “The Expendables” is a pleasant memory of the past, and not a reason to look at young rockers. Second, the grater between the guys boils down to a few phrases, disturbing glances, and at the end a few jokes and jubilation, because they are still friends.
The strength of the film is its actors, but everything is not smooth here, because Stallone decided to show off in front of everyone and took almost everyone’s screen time, inserting himself everywhere. Of course, it's nice to see the old guard, but not in the way it was served here. The characters are not from this movie. Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford are, of course, pleasant decorations, but in fact they did not bring anything unusual. Wesley did a couple of stunts, and Harrison, well... he could have done a lot more if he agreed to take part. The best were Mel Gibson and Antonio Banderas. They did it, but they had little time.
This picture did not reach the expected result, there was not enough on all sides. There was no tin, there was no action, there was no joke, there was no plot. The only plus, and he will attract, there are actors who brought a lot of happiness a long time ago.
They waited, they believed, they worshipped, and they returned. First on armored cars in Cannes, then released into the network by an illegal copy, and now with all the power and recklessness in all the cinemas of the country! The brave guys of Barney Ross, led by their unsinkable, unbending, unbroken and loud commander, will shake the old days once again, so that we once again applauded them standing up and with hope in the eyes of waiting for the next part, the fourth, about world-famous mercenary heroes.
SKEPSIS. Before watching the film, I decided to take a peek at the reviews of viewers who have already watched the film. Critics were "oh so many!", but my faith in Hollywood Brutals was even greater. And my bet was right.
The first one is about drama. Yes, it is more here than in the previous two parts. In the third part, there is more thoughtfulness, uncertainty, reflection and even insecurity in one’s abilities. But! Is it true that all the old-school fighters of the 80s and 90s (and the saga of the “unstoppables” is watched for the most part by fans of that old-schoolness) were, like the second part, completely stuffed with hamstrings and determination? Was everything easy, fun and simple for the main characters? What had in common for all such films was a harsh look, biceps, the main character-winner and pathetic speeches. Each of the previous fighters, despite its simplicity and similar structure, was different. Somewhere more comedy (this is closer to Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford), somewhere a thriller (usually Stallone, sometimes Schwarzenegger and Lundgren), and somewhere a drama (close to Cage and Eastwood). Therefore, to accuse the third part of excessive drama is unjustified. Or do you want the “unstoppables” to be stamped in the mainstream of the fun second part until the idea is exhausted completely and the audience’s interest is not extinguished? The third part of the themes and beautiful that there is something new for our heroes. Something new that wasn’t in the previous two parts. And the seriousness and drama, which indisputably became more in the third part, only benefits the franchise, and gives us new emotions and new feelings.
Second: about the lack of screen time in various characters. As for the minimal involvement of Jet Lee, please tell me, since when did Jet become a superhero of action movies and become one with Stallone and Arnie? Never! Yes, Jet’s good fighters of the 90s are present in the collection, there are no questions, but in such a team he has screen time just right. Little Ford? Not much! Look at him! He's barely on his feet (no offense, Harris). Ford gave a big pass, it's no wonder, at such and such an age! And so the idea of putting Ford behind a helicopter remote is very, very good. Little Lundgren? And the beginning? And the constant emphasis on him and the hamstrings involving Dolph? Little Arnie? Yes, I agree! But don’t forget, Sly, like Arnie, is the main person in his films, and in the “unstoppable” palm of the primacy behind their creator – Stallone. It is unlikely that the writer Stallone will allow the “Terminator” to eclipse his charisma “Rambo”, so not so much screen time, but in every moment Arnie is beyond doubt at the height!
Third: Young people. Youth really did. In battle, the guys and the sweet lady are certainly good, but by name. Why not put Hartnett, Gordon-Levitt, Evans, or at least Kutcher on the team? These names are really on hearing, and Rousey, Ortiz and the same are known for the most part only to sports fans, because mixed martial arts, wrestling, boxing is exactly where they came from in the big movie.
REAL. So what do we have today?! Unlike the second part, where the whole plot was in the execution of the mission, and then revenge for the death of a partner, the third part is full of interesting twists and turns. First Barney is at a height (hello, armored train and rescued thug Snipes!), then the port in Somalia (so clearly reminiscent of the Bulgarian outskirts, come on!), where Barney is again on the horse, but suddenly appeared in a magnificent black shirt Stonebanks on the horizon confuses all cards, and, thinning in composition, thanks to Caesar’s wound, the “irrepressible” team Barney decides to dissolve. Now one more turn! Disbanding one team, Barney assembles another and goes after Stonebanks. And then the weather is kind of benign, and the cards are right, and Stonebanks is on a leash, but (again!) and now Barney himself is on a leash. But he alone with thugs clearly can not cope and faithful friends, despite all the charm of quiet killing home comfort, come to the rescue. Do not forget about Schwartz together with Ford and Lee, who did not forget to shake the bones in the name of the respected brother. Well, who do you think was cooler: the entire Bulgarian army led by the inimitable Mel Gibson or a small detachment of American thugs led by the permanent Rocky Rambovich?
Well, tell me, as in the third "unstoppable" You will see the polished Mel Gibson at the wheel of the Soviet Zil, where no matter how here in one frame to face the seemingly intractable Ford and Arnie, where no matter how here the blaring Banderos will resemble his best last work - "Cat in Boots", where no matter how here lovers of cool guns, cold beer, faithful friends and jokers will cut ten hundred soldiers on Soviet tanks and helicopters, where Jason Statham, as well as Schwartz, as Ford, as Snips will play secondary roles! Here they are!!!
New third "unstoppable" - a new page in the history of the franchise. A significant contribution to this was made by the unconditional villain Gibson, the joker Snipes, restless Banderos and bristles Swartza. The final scene in the bar (Lie and Arnie!!), the final mess at an abandoned construction site, the slaughter in Somalia, Sly's final jerk, the loyalty of the team, the connected psychologist Gibson, the "unstoppable" in town and the inimitable captain from "Remove the Periscope" Calcy Grammer - this is only a small part of everything that deserves attention in this deadly action movie. Magnificent music, animal charisma, unwavering pathos, computer graphics and burning shootouts! You miss the Hollywood team, then it comes to you!
Future. What do we expect next? The choice we have is even worse than the previous one: the fastest-armed cook of the planet, the immortal Casey Rybeck (Stephen Seagal), the most creative kung fu Asian (Jackie Chan), the most intelligent of the Coppola clan (Nicholas Cage), the laugher Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy), as well as the long-haired Kurt Russell, the cinematic under the Hob>Traiskrazhair, Trazhair, Trazhairth/b>Trazhair, Trazierb>Trazhairl/b>Trazione/b>
Who said that old people are not in fashion?
8 out of 10
After a mind-blowing final battle in the airport building at the end of Part Two, when Trench (Schwarzenegger) joked about “they’re trash and that their place is in the museum,” the thought crept in that Stallone might stop in the second part of his franchise. However, he is not a stupid person, so he always knew how to use the potential of a project. In this case, with “The Expendables” there is a very good situation – as long as the characters are the interests of the public, the project itself will live. And as practice shows, the interest in the joint work of the old school from the viewer is not yet taken away.
“The Expendables 3”, announced in late 2012 during its creation, was pretty shabby. As usual, there are numerous rumors around this picture: the involvement of certain individuals in its creation, the participation of a whole group of old-school stars of militants and even the former US president, changes in the director's chair. However, after all the troubles and problems, Sylvester Stallone once again gathered the guys to shoot and kill the bad guys. And even without Seagal, Cage and Jackie, but the new series was replenished not by weak personalities.
Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) will face off against his former “friend” and colleague. One of the creators of the first team of the Expendables by Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). To defeat his old enemy, Barney recruits a new young generation of daredevils. But whether it will be so combative and skillful, despite all its technical savvy and newfangled gadgets, or the youth will still not be able to withstand a huge army of bad guys and they still need the help of representatives of the classical old school, who worked and continue to work under the motto “BOOM!”
After such a long wait (again for two years!), the viewer once again got a unique chance to admire the joint work of the old guard of the saviors of the world, in a beautifully made and served combat cocktail. Cocktail, however, after which there is a slight unpleasant aftertaste. Here it seems to you and an armored train-ramming, an unbeatable helicopter and impenetrable cars of good guys, chases on boats, flights on a chic military aircraft with a skull on the tail, countless corpses and endless cartridges, tanks, self-propelled guns, motorcycle flights and cherry in the form of the final steep jump Sly from the collapsing building (but how beautiful and exciting it was).
Everything is done and filmed in principle competently, according to the classic scheme with a standard set - even the timer at the bombs and the final hand-to-hand fight with the villain. And the film itself is quite good, however, despite the more than added action, it is set an order of magnitude below the level of the first two parts, which immediately refers to the inexperienced director Patrick Hughes. Therefore, if it were not for the dilution of the whole action of the cool humorous component, when even in the most difficult situations the heroes will not be denied sarcasm and irony, the viewability of the picture would be an order of magnitude lower and the audience interest would fall catastrophically quickly, taking into account the fact that the plot itself does not shine with delights.
Therefore, it is necessary to tune in initially to this picture as one big, crazy colorful performance-fairy tale, which does not pretend to be authentic and reality of what is happening. Of course, this is such a oppressive version of the film, already so far from the first part with its adult rating and more brutal component that even the increase in the scale and scope of filming, the attraction of new characters was absorbed by the feeling that the guys really just set out to admire themselves and their invulnerability, shooting along the way cartoon soldiers. But the fact remains that the project has become even more reckless and at this stage it is a different movie than the first part. Movies adapted and adjusted to modern realities.
The influence of the newfangled commercially successful cool fighters akin to the Furious is visible to the naked eye, so adjusting to them, the Expendables rather lost more than gained. By inserting into the storyline the youth, who in general did not amaze, and, in part, relegating the old guard to the background at some point (Arnold, frankly, was not given a good turn, and his rare appearances do not look very impressive), the creators disappointed many fans. After all, they just wanted to see how Arnie and Sly and their old friends together crush enemies to the right and left.
All this is pure production games, of course, in order to attract a wider audience. But with all this, the main thing that has not lost the brand "Expendables" - the spirit of the old school 80-90s. And the third part is again imbued with an incredible nostalgic component, which is one of its key features that attracts attention. It doesn’t matter how many parts there are, because as long as this spirit persists, the project itself will continue. Stallone knows what he will feel when he and his older colleagues in the workshop will need to stop, because as the characters themselves say: “We came together and leave.”
