'Wonder Woman' waited and was slightly disappointed. Everything is fine, but it doesn’t look enthusiastic. Patty Jenkins managed to avoid the fate of falling into a pit of platitudes and cheap pathos, which is usually responsible for slow-mo; also, the director managed to clearly spell out all the main characters, which, except for General Lidendorf (Danny Houston), you watch not without interest. It was not the main thing: it failed to light. You can hype Nolan's trilogy of the Dark Knight or his successor Snyder for two Superman films, but there was a spark in them. A spark that at some point caused a fire of fan joy. About a fresh look at the Man of Steel argued about his fight with Batman argued and seem to continue to argue. There will be no debate about Wonder Woman. They don't do that anymore. Because there's no spark. According to comics, he is a character of radical views. Unlike Kal-El or Bruce Wayne, Diana believed in her principles. She was able to crush enemies in packs, without bothering with thoughts about the world order of mere mortals or the heavy burden of her vocation as a fighter for Justice. So it’s good that the film has an episode in which the main character fights in the field, and then saves the village from the Germans and it’s bad that it is so uninterestingly shown.
Some critics wrote about the triumph of feminism in the film, but I did not see it there. Either there is a thought, but again it is not revealed, or I am blind. I dare say the first. Do not take for true feminism the joke about “women who do not need men to satisfy”, as well as the fact that the first sex of the heroes Gal Gadot and Chris Pine is censored to indecent ridiculous!
Diana's credo is kind of like love, at least that's what she says in the stupid finale, in the battle against a villain who's creeded like a fool, but how she came to this credo is unclear. There is no spiritual path to the development of the character, and since everyone knows that she is a goddess, there is no point in worrying about her fate at all.
As a result, we have an averaged blockbuster with a standard set of problems of a modern blockbuster: a conditional villain, a lot of molasses in the dialogues, unclear motivation (why Diana was generally concerned for people’s lives, if before meeting Steve, she calmly lived on the island for her pleasure), the final from the category “because it is necessary”. If this is DC’s work on mistakes, I’m scared of Justice League. It will be boring at best!
'A real modern epic about heroes'. 'Competent and beautiful cinema without a lot of ridiculous moments' 'The DC Movie That Smashed' Not really.
The script resembles a brainstorming summary. Several people would throw ideas, one would write them on a blackboard, and then they would just type in dialogue between them and send them to the set. In the end, the film is a set of cut fragments and ideas. Therefore, most scenes here are illogical, and the characters, although colorful, but not at all worked out. But they brought a car of Bondarchuk rifles. There's a sniper here who can't shoot because Or a man sniffing gas from a pill. Another team that's needed. In short, over the main jumble of past films - a vague script - DS did not work at all.
Diana thinks her mom made it out of clay. And this moment Gal Gadot seems to have taken as the basis of his acting. It is good as a ceramic statuette, that is, completely devoid of life, charisma and everything that a real movie heroine should have. All right, her legs are cool. On their meticulous contemplation, the whole action is built here, and looking at them from all sides and angles, it remains only to admit: the legs are a test.
Diana runs around with the naively stupid idea that killing Ares is enough and the Germans will be good again and all wars will end. And this idea, for all its naivety, really touches and makes you worry whether it will work or not. Because I want it to be, because if the death of one evil man ended all wars, that would be great. But the creators managed to ruin this idea in the end. The ending did not succeed a little more than completely: while traveling Remus Lupin tries to throw Miracle Woman tanks to death, a team of assistants blows up a plane with gas bombs in the sky, condemning to death hundreds of people on whom this cloud of gas will one day descend.
Maybe it’s not as boring as Batman vs. Superman & #39; and not as mundane as Suicide Squad & #39; but that doesn’t make it good. This is a superficial film full of conventions and absurdities.
5 out of 10
If you take a mathematical formula and replace x with y, the result will remain unchanged, and in Wonder Woman you can see the same Superman, only in a skirt.
Nothing new to the viewer who is familiar with the genre, the film will not bring. The main character is a cross between Superman (flights, invulnerability), Captain America (use of the shield in combat) and Thor (mythological overtones). The script and the storyline are banal and can not surprise, dialogues in places can cause a smile, but by the second half of the film fall into a series of standard stamps that do not make sense.
Pros - Gal Gadot and scenes of the First World War, which so rarely hit the big screens.
Cons are absolutely passable secondary characters (Scotsman, Indian and Arab just take screen time without remembering anything but their inappropriateness in the frame) and the secondary of everything that happens.
The film is about a woman who will stop the horse, and enter the hut, and the tank will turn over.
But it started very disgusting. The new DC logo clearly hints at who the universe intends to compete with. The first 40 minutes of the movie were nothing. They were like a cheap TV show, with disgusting graphics, and rusty-eyed chromakey. Only a fighter stood out. It was even worse than what was shown on small screens. Scriptural stupidity and impotence, fell into the eyes. What is usually found in specialized reviews of more sharp-sighted people, called such a review to create. Its narrative, the film begins with a demonstration of the stupidity of people and Amazons, with the lack of any security systems and watchmen, the eternal companion of those in trouble - luck, and typical clichés, like a sudden cessation of combat in one chosen place, to deploy another cliché in this place. The cliché! It's too much.
And after the 40th minute, there was a strong belief that looking at this disgrace, someone very knowledgeable, who realized that the pipe is shaken by everyone who is not lazy, shouted a salvific spell, sounding like: Come snack, put order!
And from that moment on, the film suddenly began to recover. The film was filled with directorial strength and solidity. The script did not get better, but the hidden inconsistencies had to be picked out, because they themselves did not catch the eye. The film showed, not fixed before, drama with sober irony. The film could be both easy-comedic and serious-tragic in scenes at the front. Well, the action, which at the beginning caused laughter through bitter tears, grew stronger and acquired a style painfully familiar.
This style, framing is still not a great script. Diana, occasionally forgetting to use her abilities, tightly guarded objects turned into semi-guarded, crushing explosions struck selectively, and... and why did they all have gas masks that do not make sense? Only to give the main characters a chance to get where logically it is problematic to get?
Well, not counting a slightly weaker musical accompaniment, there was a greasy fit - slender Galka Gadot, who played the coolest superheroine of our time. Her smile would dispel the darkness of the darkest filters, and her look is much deeper than the script. Diana, who got into the world of people, looks like a naive child in it, through whose mouths, nevertheless, speaks the truth.
The film did not fit into the folder "masterpieces of superheroics", but freely located in the folder "fit Kinch for the evening." Had it not been for the eerie contrast with the scenes on Themyscira, the film would have been wonderful.
Poor DC Comics. It seems that he will never win the race of universes at Marvel. The brilliant Christopher Nollan has capitally reduced the backlog with his mouse trilogy, but without it again there is not enough speed and DC in the tail.
On the track comes a fresh car - a picture Wonder Woman. A separate film about Diana, which appeared in 'Batman v Superman'; A lot of positive reviews, huge fees and a tick 'success, we are preparing a sequel'. And after looking at one question in my head: ' For what. .. ?'.
Initially, the smell of caustic feminism, more like matriarchy, is frightening. You will say that it is logical, the film is about the girl warrior and her story. Let’s look at it from the Amazon.
You can discard their mythological essence. There was nothing left of her, except the sex and notes of Greek mythology (capitally perverted) and especially no one-breasted women. In addition, they are immortal, there is no longer any explanation for how their family lived so long away from the world without inseminators (men). And this is just the introduction to a series of logical delirium of the plot chain and individual scenes. Further description makes no sense because of spoilers. You’ll see it all yourself or not.
39: How typical are you for males? 39, Diana said after seeing her first naked man. You think about a lot, don’t you?
'More Average' — cut off your thoughts Trevor's answer and the direction of Diana's gaze. That’s all that Amazon is interested in, according to the director (Women) in men. This is by the way about the extra vulgarity of the film, which is usually avoided in the franchise only occasionally inserting beautiful sex scenes.
But as time passes, mores change. Remember the good old Spider-Man in 2002, the only vulgarity was the scene in the rain, where Kirsten Dunst ' accidentally ' was without a bra in a thin shirt. Now remember the recent Deadpool with the initial cutting of scenes of the amusement of the main character. The audience is the same by age.
Next, a few words about ' Support team'. It just so happened that in any Hollywood film should be a support team to somehow stretch the plot.
Scotsman, Indian and Arab - What?! Is this the first thing that came to the Creator’s mind? Or some hidden meaning. Let's look for him. It's World War I. Our heroes are against the German and if everything is clear (American) with Trevor, what about the other three?
Arab. The Ottoman Empire fought against Russia in that war, and Russia was in the Entente (Russia, England, France for those who are in a tank (or iPhone) since childhood). No logic.
Scottish. Suitable. Guys in kilts fought in England.
Indian. In fact, he could represent America, but there is Trevor for that.
It turns out a full mince of delirium.
Yes, because I never understood why these characters were introduced, except for stretching the plot. Why all of them when Diana can put the whole army down by herself? To show that bad people discover the good in themselves and are capable of self-sacrifice? A worn cliché scheme, poorly implemented.
Gal Gadot pulls the film on his shoulders, or rather on his bare feet in a mini. Beautiful and natural girl, which is nice to look at in a combat outfit, but isn’t it too against the background of the mud of war...? The character himself carries a pure and correct example, if you throw away all the vulgarity.
However, there is a small BUT. Diana has been trained hard since childhood. Have you seen female athletes? Not athletes or volleyball players, but, for example, boxing or wrestling, and even power sports, are they gentle, thin and sexy? Obviously not. But this is all for skeptics and realists, however, a little sporty physique here would have to be in place. But Wonder Woman is a fairy tale, so forget about reality. After all, everyone likes to contemplate how a fragile girl beats a bunch of healthy men in any film, forgetting that nature deprived women of this power.
This movie gives a lot of food to think about gender equality. But let’s talk about the movie itself.
What is his success?
There are several reasons for this:
- a new movie superhero with an interesting story, not the same erased by remakes of Batman or Superman, but Diana herself!
- the triumph of feminism and matriarchy, why a lot of approval from representatives;
A beautiful actress in the lead role;
- the same good special effects and graphics.
Well, that's all. You have read the above below.
Verdict: Hulture-passing female cinema based on a very interesting and good story.
Once, one video blogger (in a review at 'Wonder Woman', by the way) stated that Warner Bros studio bosses painfully resemble a moody child who clearly lacks belt spanking. He is right about some things, but everyone needs to be given a chance at redemption, and the likelihood of a person taking that chance is impressive. 'Only not in the case of people who are dedicated to the creation of the DC Cinematic Universe!' - you will say and be wrong. Yes, the Cinematic Universe has been given multiple chances to correct itself—twice, to be exact—but at the same time, in both cases, those chances were accompanied by unnecessarily high expectations and demands from the audience. And whether the expectations were indescribably high, whether 'Batman v Superman' (hereinafter - 'BPS') with 'Suicide Squad' incorrectly positioned themselves, which at first glance seems more plausible, but 'BPS' and 'Suicide Squad' failed miserably in the eyes of most viewers. Therefore, from 'Wonder Woman' it was completely hopeless to expect anything (read ' useless'). However, there is a human contingent for whom hope for the best dies last, and this contingent is called fans. And as a DC comic book fan, I also had the hope that a solo film about the militant Amazon wouldn't face the mud of the movie universe. I want to express my opinion about this picture Patty Jenkins not on the classics, but through an analysis of the problems that overtook previous films of the cinematic universe and the coming to a consensus, whether it came ' Wonder Woman' on the same rake.
Excessive hypertrophy. Already the very first film of the expanded cinema universe - 'Man of Steel' - suffered a not very pleasant fate. Not in the sense that it was coldly received, on the contrary, this film is still considered the best in the DCEU, but because it represented something ... well, how to say, something wrong. It was difficult to understand and served on serious grounds. Don’t get it wrong, if you give an excuse to cook with a bowler – please, I’m only for, but when the main character Superman, then you can’t think about serious topics. With 'Batman v Superman' there was about the same situation, the situation was aggravated by an overabundance of storylines, one of which was completely undisclosed. Patty Jenkins decided not to show off and not to be very wise with the plot concept and the overall atmosphere of the picture. The latter eventually came out light and laid-back, paying homage to early superhero films, such as Burton's Batman films. It is also gratifying that the tape does not make the viewer strain his head in the analysis of storylines. In fact, the whole tape focuses on one storyline, it is clear who is connected with, and at the same time it does not turn anywhere and correctly develops almost to the very end.
Characters, their motivations and logic in actions. I guess I will open America if I say that a considerable number of viewers while watching 'BPS' and 'Suicide Squad' had questions 'Why... ?', 'Why...?', 'For what purpose...?' and so on. Of course, the futile search for answers to these questions makes it difficult to normalize the picture. But among other things, fuel in the fire poured unnecessary cramming a huge number of characters on which the plot simply can not focus. The creators of ‘Wonder Woman’ & #39’ pulled themselves together and bypassed these traps by focusing on the two characters and wonderfully developing the relationship between them. Yes, the naivety of the heroine Gal Gadot is sometimes annoying, but slowly you get used to it, and sometimes you just do not pay attention to it, enjoying the gorgeous performance of the actress. I am glad that in her actions, as in the actions of other characters, there are no illogicalities and stupid decisions. Moreover, Wonder Woman has quite good intentions throughout the film, so she sincerely wants to believe and sympathize.
Translation of arrows to ' Ignorance of comics'. Take the conditional viewer 'X' and the viewer 'Y' both of whom have watched all three previous DCEU films. Viewer's response ' X' to criticism from the viewer ' Y' towards DC Cinematic Universe movies usually boils down to the fact that the viewer ' Y' did not read the comics. On the one hand, it is commendable that the person 'X' has been read and can be proud of it. On the other hand, the person 'Y' this argument is not taken for granted, thus confirming his/her rightness. Indeed, watching a movie should be treated accordingly, not as an exam, where in order to get an A, you need to know everything that is required. 'Wonder Woman' but in this situation looks good and somewhat resembles the position ' Guardians of the Galaxy' within Marvel (not because both films about charming heroes of the universe scale in my opinion are the best films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe). That is, like the franchise of James Gunn, Patty Jenkins' picture is independent of both comics and its cinematic universe, which gives it universality.
But despite the painstaking and time-consuming work on the mistakes made by the creators of the solo Wonder Woman, there were no shortcomings. First, there was a feeling that when the filming process of the film almost came to an end, like the hacking of the Joker and his henchmen at the end of "Suicide Squad" & #39;, Zack Snyder came with special forces and finished the work himself. Because the final battle really teemed with pathos, tear and other techniques, in the aggregate inherent exclusively to Snyder. Secondly, although Diana’s intentions, as mentioned earlier, are quite good, it is unclear how she, with all her curiosity, could not guess that the main cause of any war is human discord and whims (emphasis on the word ' human '), and not the command of the god of war, although at the same time this is a controversial issue. Third, my personal claim is a faint soundtrack. In the musical accompaniment ' Man of Steel' felt the power, the original soundtrack and the range of songs sounded in ' Suicide Squad', amaze with its coolness and variety and the main theme of the same Wonder Woman in ' BPS' and even hit the top ten. And against the background of all the above, the local musical accompaniment looks weak.
As a result, the picture did not demonstrate anything supernatural and amazing, but this does not negate the fact that it is very high-quality and generally interesting. And just as Diana is giving, or at least eager to give, hope for tomorrow, Patty Jenkins’ painting offers hope that the DC Cinematic Universe will continue to show its good side. Now I will be very interested to look at the further development of the character of Wonder Woman in ' Justice League' and I will also be happy to watch the continuation of her independent history (which has already been officially announced), because who knows when there will be a great opportunity to look at Gal Gadot, and even in such a stunning image?

While Marvel consistently delivers successful adaptations of its comics every four months, DC is more modest. They didn’t have that many memorable movies: Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy (and earlier Tim Burton’s), Guardians, Man of Steel... well, maybe something else, I don’t even remember. And to approach the release of films on their comics, they (DC), in theory, should be very careful and thoughtful, but alas...
The level of attention to detail is almost zero. You can see that the female director was so immersed in the emotional and visual canvas of the picture that even for a little logical reflection, there was simply no time or energy. Every ten minutes of the film reflexively grab your hand over your head and ask aloud questions about the adequacy of what is happening on the screen, which helplessly fly into oblivion.
But the picture and emotional background are good, and sometimes even very good. And music pleases at the same time with its simplicity and lyricism.
The result is ambiguous, although I do not like to write neutral reviews. So sometimes it’s nice to praise a movie or blow it to dust, but you have to take into account all the circumstances. Idiotism and incompetent approach to detailing the script is compensated by good graphics and charming female combat emotions (well, and a pretty main character). And this is not a picture that you can talk about a lot and that will be remembered for a long time.
The movie is no... So hoped that there would be a scale, even with its power, and in the end it turned out some fairy tale for children 5-6 years old.
Well seriously, what is happening looks so wretched that lately it becomes scary for DC, how many chances are already in the bucket... How many characters are in the toilet? But in the case of Wonder Woman, only one thing pleases here is Gal Gadot, she is chic in this image, maybe cute and warlike, a kind of Ripley in the Marvel Universe, but it is better not to demand strong roles and serious emotion from Gadot, since it is immediately noticeable dampness in the game, but the eyes to build and frown on this is what you need from Wonder Woman. The problem is in the plot, the script was written probably during the time that was allotted to visit places not so remote, filmed terribly, torn. The graphics seem to be from the 90s and are very striking, the action scenes are really not, and what is there is that filmed without dynamics at all, is static. It is noticeable that Patty Jenkins does not know how to shoot blockbusters, her genre is mainly drama.
As for the boundary of the Amazon world and where Chris Pine's character came from (I'd say our world, but it's kind of like the Marvel universe so...) what nonsense is that? So no ship has sailed there in all this time? Judging by the film, crossing the border is easier. Is this how they hide their existence?
The war is always shown as if it's some sort of hike or quest, a scene of celebration and dancing after Wonder Woman helped recapture the point. Well, yeah, let's sing louder and louder, and it doesn't matter if there's a war going on and a sniper can hear it, let's celebrate! These little things are just annoying.
At first I took the story of some god of war in such a way that Diana’s mother tried to protect her from the outside world, etc., but it turned out to be different. And after all, the character of Chris Pine well summed up in the end that they say the man himself is such in essence. Well, anyway, some common logic and not bad even, now Diana will take off rose-colored glasses and become Wonder Woman and understand how the world works. But no, in the end, the God of War is really to blame for everything, and even with these phrases from the Transformers: “I kill you that zhou.” Tired of... The battle is over, and then what? Yeah! Everyone at once becomes kind (and judging by the expression of the soldier’s face, everything is exactly as if the veil had fallen from his eyes and mind) and world peace!
Delusion!
I looked and forgot.
Wonder Woman film made at a high professional level, and his script for the comic book came out quite good. I cannot understand the unrealistic delights of Western critics. The film is certainly one of this year's most competent blockbusters, but it doesn't even try to go beyond the genre. Although I don’t understand the ardent haters of the tape even more, I am so outraged at not saying that strong feminism propaganda should be able to.
So far, this is probably the most connected film entering the film universe DC, but not the most memorable. He lacks his own style, some independent visual images, unusual presentation of material. Looking at the general tone of the film and drawing parallels with "Captain America", you understand that the film is largely trying to copy the approach of "Marvel". And it does it extremely well, the right balance of drama and humor was probably one of the reasons why the film so liked the audience.
Gal Gadot Of course very beautiful and in the image of Woman's Miracle looks gorgeous, but she still plays not important. And this is noticeable even against the background of not much trying Chris Pine. Well at least for secondary roles chose colorful actors and even gave them a sufficient amount of screen time. Although all the negative characters for some reason on the contrary were openly merged.
Despite the excessive comics, I liked the action scene in the film, well, if you forget about the final fight with Ares of course. Although if you cut out everything inherited from Zack Snyder Slow Moshen, the film will be reduced by at least half an hour. Scenes of military operations are shown gloomy and dirty, without excessive mitigation, and in general everything is filmed qualitatively.
Wonder Woman is definitely a good movie, but critics have clearly overrated it. I do not know what caused the lack of strong competitors or fear of the anger of feminists.

A lot of undeservedly positive reviews, so maybe I’ll be too harsh:
1) Very stupid story. Watching the film, it seems that the writer had a competition for the most delusional story. What could be forgiven in a cartoon, for a film with such a budget is a disgrace. Here and mortal-immortal gods, and the role of the Amazons (as they stopped the war is clear and did not become, and according to the proposed illustrations all hints of 18+), and the behavior of soldiers in the war (especially landing on the island - it was like crazy nonsense).
2) Attempts to joke in the film were as unsuccessful as possible: today it is ' miracle' giggles about the genitals and reproduction, and tomorrow she throws brave speeches at the military councils, which naturally do not even plan to guard and exhibit cordons around the perimeter (come in - take what you want). All jokes came out on the level of jokes about women's gossip.
(3) Stupid behavior of the heroine and other heroes goes beyond all permissible norms. No one asks any questions: what kind of island? are you serious about God? and why ares telekinesis and lightning, he is the god of war? why are you so strong? can throw a grenade instead of taking a notebook? why did we even rush around with this notebook and why are we asked if a more perfect gas has already been developed? - all these questions accumulate every minute a lot of stupidity of what is happening.
(4) Physics is a separate song. In fiction, there are always assumptions that you accept after receiving some explanation, but here you will not be given explanations, the viewer is generally considered a stupid animal and show maximum disrespect. I'll pick a couple of the most delicious, on which the whole film is based:
The defense of the island, which is simply not able to protect, but at the same time, for some reason, sailing through it begins to heel the ship - why? why? apparently from the sight of armed soldiers begin to go into hand-to-hand against swords.
Flammable gas, which should be easily carried by air, burn well (this is also emphasized at the end of the film), as well as melt metal and everything around. It acts as selectively as possible: it does not kill standing from the distribution zone of 1 meter, it does not burn in a destroyed village and does not even burn the skin on people's faces (and after all, there was such a beautiful demonstration before).
- The impact of guns on ours ' Miracle' will remain a mystery until the very end, as it is not clear whether weapons can cause harm or not. Then she dodges small-caliber pistols, then punches the building or military equipment with her head. It is clear that this is all for entertainment, but can from the very beginning make it invulnerable to bullets and build on this more beautiful and large-scale battles? According to the authors - and so eat.
(5) The graphics in the film were also very low and sometimes even inferior to the 1999 Matrix. It's not Hollywood at all, it's Japanese creativity. The whole picture looks very unpleasant and cuts the eye. In order not to bother with color correctors, the whole film is simply filled with a blue filter, then a yellow one.
(6) The music is not catchy at all and 15 after the film you will not remember a single melody at all.
In general, you can list these stupidities for a long time and in its delusions, this film easily surpassed ' Attack of the Titans' And all the twisted ratings abroad well show the ineffectiveness of this method. And in fact, to focus on the ratings now there is no need, because the new fashion before the start of the film comes 3-5 trailers and still show footage from the schemes, and after you leak 25% of the film, then understand its inadequacy can anyone. Therefore, the trailer of the Justice League demonstrates a blatant failure.
Result: Do not look for yourself, talk your friends out and send enemies in 3D.
Progressive 'feminism' or good old-fashioned sexism? You'll figure it out. . .
Well, Petty Jenkins made a good movie. Typical formation of the hero, and therefore typical plot twists, typical characters with a set of certain qualities and a typical (a) Glavnyuk (glass). All of this works with a good production, which the film can not take away (until the climax).
The main advantages of the picture I consider correctly placed accents, their presentation and the characters of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. The creators did the right thing with two main plot directions: War and the notorious feminism. War is portrayed harshly and naturally, and feminism is historically literate. Diana and Steve, in turn, are decently registered and are neither pieces of cardboard nor desperate idiots.
But as much as I like what I saw, there is something to be outraged about. The first is graphics and slow motion. (If they wanted to imitate Zack Snyder, it clearly didn’t work out.) Secondly, that each of the good elements they managed to squander and add a bag of nonsense.
Feminism was the first to suffer. Even before I saw it, I came across the director’s claims that it was a feminist film in the name of feminism. And that really bothered me. Because now not quite correctly use this concept (mainly to cover up discrimination). Now I have such tactics of promotion of the film causes only bewilderment and quite logical: ' Why spoil what you already showed in the best way?'.
Next was War. This storyline was destroyed already scripted. It was necessary to conduct this topic so carefully and correctly that then ... one tiny scene ... You need to see this with your own eyes, in order to understand that you can not do this!
But who is responsible for 'loveline' I'm terribly curious. I was not surprised this time. I was genuinely sorry for the efforts of the actors, both in the stunning climax scene between Diana and Steve, and in the subsequent circus with horses and scroll under Nolan and Snyder combined.

For the efforts of the creators and the faith of the fans.
Since I am not familiar with the original, namely the comic book, and did not watch the series from the last century, which inspired writers and directors for this creation, I will judge only by the real “product”, without breaking away from the background:
I, for a long time, hated comic book movies, right for a very long time ... after all, very little worthwhile appeared in our cinema - some stupid, dummy-entertainment films that you need to watch chewing popcorn and first turn off your brains.
But Christopher Nolan and Zach Snyder made me reconsider my opinion about this branch of cinema.
They, one of the first, began to put in the first place not action, but the meaning and reason for the emergence of such a concept as a superhero.
But very many did not understand their plan - after all, it is one thing to read a comic book filled with action and meaning, where everything is thought out in your head, and it is quite another to look at a larger screen of a canvas length of 2 hours of timekeeping (or even more), in which "superheroes" dig into their cabinets with skeletons.
But I loved it and I was waiting for this movie.
Unfortunately, Wonder Woman didn’t turn out to be exactly the kind of movie I expected from DS, it was more like Marvel’s consumer goods, which is trying to seem “smarter.”
The film clearly shows interesting, instructive and clever things, but everything is so stupidly woven into the script and executed that the desire to “think” very quickly disappears. Ideas that are presented to us in one frame - can be destroyed in another, and important decisions that contradict the "character policy" - can change dramatically due to the trifles ... trifles?! - Yes, because we have not revealed a single character in full!
We can empathize to the fullest extent only with the heroine Gal Gadot, and all the others "dummy"!
But all right script flaws, but the film with almost $ 150 million (!!) budget has such a terrible graphic component that just a nightmare!
Computer graphics in places so cut eyes that I remembered 2001!
Chromakei in many places sagged like in "Divergent"!
But what about the bad and the bad? :
It is worth noting the actors that played great and we could believe in the characters ... but unfortunately do not empathize with them ... and the incredible music that is present in all films DS.
The film, started very cheerful and interesting, we wanted to watch the evolution of Diana, and at the beginning of the film managed to interest us, but towards the end – everything was merged not the best action, which was clearly superfluous.
Personally, it seems to me that the film lacks somewhere an hour or two additional timekeeping, in which we will more reveal the characters, show more events and be able to turn the action to its fullest instead of what we were shown.
Although I mostly criticized the film in a bad way, but still it was fun to watch, it did not bother, although some moments cut your eyes and made you ask rhetorical questions, it had this “charm”. Devshny films, because of what they want to watch, and with its timekeeping a little more than 2 hours, the film looks in one breath!
Well, no, not like that. Good day, everyone. I rarely leave comments, reviews, etc., only if the work is so good (in my opinion, of course) or so not good (in the opinion of many, because people in this way agree much more often).
Wonder Woman, or Wonder Woman in our fashion. This miracle was definitely noticed when the name was translated, since wonder also translates as 'Nevedal' (a little pun in the tape), and it is here in a decent excess.
Let's finish the foreplay and get to work. Gal Gadot (I write in English, so as not to find fault with the translation of the name): oh, how this maid was not advertised, I do not argue the maiden is very good and ... all in principle only this. Maybe she could imagine something on the background of Batman in the face of Ben Affleck, but apparently no more. The main character out of it came out terribly ridiculous, like the whole film. As in an anecdote, a nuclear physicist can splash the wall, but a painter will not start a nuclear reactor, here and there the same thing: two hands, two legs are, there is a diadem with a star in the forehead, and then there is nothing, about anything, for anything and in general ' Where am I?'-thought Gal Gadot on the film platform.
The only actor as he is in the film is David Thewlis, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is 'kinzo' his portfolio will spoil. Piiip (here was swearing), Jason Momoa with his meagerness of lines and pumped body and then more understands in acting than this ' miracle'.
The plot (without spoilers, except a little bit). Let it be a movie fantasy, but until you think about what they messed with mythology and religion, you will miss the whole film and have to review, but you will never want to do this. 99% of the characters are not revealed, that is, they told only about the main character. 'Who? Why? How? What's that? ' asked the viewer in front of the screen. They took a basin, threw all the templates they could remember, and then apparently the writers of the mind did not have enough to remember more, kicked the basin, dumped on the hard drive. Done! Epic battle in the end did not save, and if you look there a couple of such not weak shoals in the graphics, well, not weak, in the Indian cinema for this is forced to dance in public ... naked ... surrounded by tigers ... and then sent to Jupiter. The film should have been called this: A poor British spy runs around with a princess like a chicken with an egg.
Over. I kept thinking why the news feeds didn’t spam about the movie, there was a thought about Game of Thrones that came out during the movie, and no, it turned out that the movie itself is not simple. A DC Comics train that couldn't get here. In the end, after the credits, even Bruce Wayne did not appear, apparently did not want to spoil the image.
Even from DC Comics, it's a mess.
A superhero action movie. Total bullshit. I haven't seen that kind of crap in a long time. However, it is good that at one time I did not go to this picture in the cinema - I would have spent money in vain. Let's not take too long, let's start looking. So, the good things:
1. Good views - what is what, and this picture can not take away. The picture is delightful.
2. A good dramatic moment in the final is of course a lazy move, but by this point we managed to catch up with the right atmosphere. And the actors did their best. As Stanislavsky said 'I believe'.
All. I didn’t find anything better, although I tried. Let’s move on to the negatives:
1. The story told at the beginning is such utter nonsense that I almost smashed my head against the TV as I watched it. I think everyone knows about the main enemy, Ares. They're so excited about it that they're so excited.
2. Logical holes - they're so throwing around here, it's just not clear how this could have been missed. The creators didn’t care.
3. The clumsy chromac and the moronic effects are, again, a complete mess. There are scenes where fighting scenes are all right, but in some it is squalor. The creators should be ashamed of themselves. Oh, my God! $150 million budget! What about this one?
4. Protractedness - apart from the final battle, it feels like it. I was constantly looking at the remaining time. Which is sad, because the picture is from an entertainment genre. They will not pass the test of time, I am telling you this for sure.
5. Forgive me, but I can’t take seriously a half-naked girl in a short, very short miniskirt who runs through the field of fierce battle, and into which not a single bullet, not a single shell can get. It just makes you laugh.
Let’s move on to the main characters:
1. Miracle woman performed by Gal Gadot - the princess of the Amazon tribe, who could not sit still, learning from the military about the raging war. Very idealized and honest, and a good fighter. How cute Gal looks, it's just mi mi. The actress received great pleasure when she starred in this picture, and it can be seen with the naked eye. Emotions can play. I wish her continued success.
2. Captain Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, is a British Army officer specializing in special operations. He ends up on an Amazon island where he is rescued by Wonder Woman. Then he becomes his friend and companion. Chris played the role very well here. He is the most memorable hero, along with the Wonder Woman.
3. General Ludendorff, played by Danny Huston, is a German general who wants the German Empire to win the war. A patriot of his country, his methods of achieving his goal are peculiar, if not dishonest. Danny is an old-school actor, so there are no complaints about him, everything is at a good level.
The result is an unnecessary film that came out. The potential was good, but the implementation was bad. Everything that happened to me caused one emotion: laughter. The laughter of what's going on.
Wonder Woman is considered one of the most famous superheroes of our time, and not only. Although it is certainly inferior to such guys as Batman or Superman, about whom there have already been a significant number of various films and in popular culture they have strengthened for a long time. Apparently, it’s time for Wonder Woman. It may be that a solo about it would not appear very soon, but DC needs to develop its cinematic multiverse and pictures of various superheroes began to crumble like a cornucopia. Alas, the same “Suicide Squad” turned out to be a very ambiguous sight and it would seem that DC began to have problems. To rectify the situation was “Wonder Woman”, which was directed by a woman, strange as it may seem. Initially, there was a lot of talk about Patty Jenkins about the fact that her version of the film may well flaunt a certain amount of feminist habits, as it seems very fashionable now to do. Fortunately, this was far from the truth.
Diana grew up on a remote island hidden from human eyes. Like her fellow tribesmen, Diana is an Amazon, a race of very powerful warriors who were once created by the gods. Once off the coast of the island crashes pilot Steve Trevor, whom Diana successfully saves from death. Diana learns that a bloody war has been going on outside the island for four years, killing thousands of people. Due to her high sense of moral justice and purpose, the Amazon, along with the pilot, goes into the thick of the fighting in order to stop the bloodshed and find the main culprit of all the warriors - Ares.
As another superhero blockbuster, Wonder Woman flaunts very impressive special effects, as well as countless different sloumo. It seems that the creators often savor literally every frame of battles in which Wonder Woman participates and it really looks extremely spectacular. Like in Batman v Superman. Wonder Woman performed by Gal Gadot is very good and her initial naivety about the world of people adds many pluses to the counter of audience sympathy. At the same time, even some not the most terrible humor is built against this background. But there are certainly problems, the main of which is some protractedness, because the first half of the film in principle passes without any significant battles and really interesting events. Everything is somewhat standard, and for those who have also watched the DC animated film of the same name or are familiar with comics, much will seem incredibly familiar and may even be boring. On the other hand, it is important to understand that the creators did not want to leave the canons and in principle coped with this task. Another major problem was local antagonists - they are just mediocre, there is no one to catch on to. These guys are just another dummies who want to destroy the world, but the problem is not even that, but that there is no question of any charisma or interesting images. Separately, I would like to note the atmosphere of the First World War, the creators clearly hit the point and this is of course commendable.
Patty Jenkins got quite a good work, which lacks stars from the sky, but acts as a very strong sample of the genre and a few goals higher than the same “Suicide Squad”, in which there was nothing at all interesting, except the image of Margot Robbie. Yes, “Wonder Woman” has certain problems and it is almost certainly not to everyone’s taste, but it is such solo books that should strengthen the backbone of the DC Cinematic Universe. I’m not the biggest fan of Wonder Woman, but Gal Gadot is good in character, and local episodes with action, and even together with beautiful music, sometimes make you hold your breath and just enjoy what is happening on the screen.

Fresh and perfect. After the tedious “At the Dawn of Justice”, Diana’s solo skillfully smoothed out Zack Snyder’s mistakes.
The first question is: what should be the chronology of a film that takes place many years before Man of Steel, the first project of the DC Cinematic Universe? The creators came in a proven way studio Marvel – “First Avenger”. Easy sequel to Batman v Superman and flashback!
And here we see the enchanting beauty of the paradise island of the Amazons. The childhood of the princess is not delayed on the plot, showing only important aspects. A little girl who fights but is protected by her mother. Initially, they hide the secret not only from the heroine herself, but also from the audience. Intrigue, especially for those who have not read the comics. You know what? To understand this movie, you don’t have to be a comic book expert. Director Patty Jenkins skillfully chews all the details and feeds information gradually.
It was funny to see a man on the island. For some, it will even seem blissful. But Chris Pine disturbs the peaceful island with news from the outside world, thereby introducing Diana into the game.
There are many comparisons to Marvel’s Captain America, but Wonder Woman is unique. If Steve was human, Diana is a child of God.
The modern world at that time frightened and surprised her. Yes, everyone wants action, and they get it, but the attraction is the adaptation of the Amazon in London.
Oh, that beautiful London! I still admire him, even on the verge of World War II. "He's disgusting!" - Diana Prince Okay, okay, no arguing with the goddess. The life in which the hot Gal Gadot gets, amuses. Many funny episodes related to the position of women in society, modern fashion and etiquette. The picture that grouchy film academics, feminists and tolerant figures cannot find fault with is different races, protection of women’s rights, equality and skillful narrative.
Yet war inexorably wipes out millions of innocent victims. It's all about action. Wonder Woman shows off her abilities, under Hans Zimmer's main theme from Dawn of Justice. Fights, abilities and weapons - Lasso are true and protective bracelets. Everything looks good and good. DC is a dark and gloomy studio, so the contrast is appropriate. Against the background of gray, darkened tones, bright yellow and red-blue enters the dance. Good for the eyes and allows you to immediately notice the princess.
After the introduction of forces, after abilities, the question of justice is raised. It is on this chronological site of the entire DC Cinematic Universe that Justice is born. I understand Snyder’s reference to Justice League, of course, but as protection and freedom, Diana’s past brings it into this line of comic book adaptations.
The main villain was not impressed, it is not even about him as the antagonist of the film. It’s about the birth of an Amazon princess, not an enemy. The war, the innocent victims, the disappointment in people, when all the castles in the air at the princess collapse before our eyes - that's what is really interesting. People are not under the power of an evil force that makes them do terrible things, but they make their own choices, good or evil. Wonder Woman’s awareness is conveyed through her naivete and belief in the good. A message that affects viewers.
Overall, for the solo and compared to the studio’s previous work, Wonder Woman gives the cinematic universe a chance. But now, after another Justice League challenge, it seems like chances are lost. Let's hope for the best. "Man of Steel" is fresh, a little drawn-out, but intriguing. Batman v Superman: At the dawn of justice, the introduction of heroes is tedious, protracted, moderately intriguing. "Suicide Squad" is fun, fun, but bad in terms of the finale, which causes the hype to drop in the middle of viewing. And here's Wonder Woman! A banal storyline, but skillfully crafted narrative.
Gal Gadot is gorgeous. I like this woman more and more. She looks and looks beautiful in the image of the heroine. Chris Pine is Captain Kirk at the front. Good and unique. David Thewlis is quiet, calm, but reveals his hero at the end. Danny Houston after the villain in the first solo Wolverine looked like his plate.
A DC film that has not earned negative reviews in a world filled with comic book adaptations. Miracle-baba did it!
A couple of decades ago, the creation of modern computer graphics seemed something incredible not only for the average viewer, but also for the most talented people in the world of cinema. Therefore, in the main, the movie could catch and keep the viewer due to good acting, an interesting plot and camera work. Now the directors for some reason believe that the modern viewer wants only more explosions and action on the screen, and the storyline has receded into the background (hello to the transformers).
After a little introduction about Themyscira (the island on which the Amazons live), we are shown a meeting of the main characters Diana (Gal Gadot) and (Chris Pine). After a short dialogue, the first action scene of the film begins, and here the film begins to have problems. The laws of physics go to hell, computer graphics are so striking that you immediately recall the films of Marvel and wonder why even the first iron man graphics were better.
The logic of the film also suffered. The whole film Diana beats bullets with her hands, jumps long distances, throws healthy men like plush, but no one is surprised by this. With all this, the main character and his friends manage to doubt the stories of Diana about good and evil after seeing. Not without the most banal mistakes like: on Diana only the dress, but suddenly under it all this time there was armor, although this is impossible, because it would be visible.
The scene of the battle with the main villain is boring, banal and causes only irritation. In the best traditions, the antihero talks a lot, throws Diana in different directions and considers himself invincible. It's a cliché, nothing more to say.
The result is an average movie that not many people want to watch. DC tries very hard to present their characters in the best light, to show their depth, but the problem is that they are empty and uninteresting. For 2 hours of the film, it became clear that Diana is very strong, intelligent and influential, since no one after the war told about a woman who does the impossible.
P.S. The last scene causes laughter and confusion.

I don’t really know anything about Wonder Woman – I haven’t read comics about her, I haven’t watched a movie where she was in a cameo role, so everything that happened these two hours can be called acquaintance with this heroine (which, I must say, in this universe all contradictory).
She is a goddess, she is a woman, she is a warrior. And I can’t say that I haven’t seen a similar development of a character from another world that happens to be in the human world.39 Of course, disappointment and childhood dreams are shattered because the world is not perfect. Because the people are evil and cruel, and the ongoing wars even now make this film incredibly relevant. There is no absolute evil that can be stopped, it is not contained in one person. And this thought particularly hooked me, although I already knew it all perfectly well, and already somewhere I think I saw it.
Childishly naive film, as much a heroine as a child with incredible power. A beautiful picture, a bit idealized in some places, but this is a story about a girl with incredible abilities from a place that does not exist on any map, so why should it be different? In any case, it was very good.
The cast is very cool, starting with Gal Gadot (not an American who served in the army, just a godsend for this role) I really liked it. Not just beautiful, but incredible, and fully lives up to its name. Not such a template character, and I do not want to find fault with her, because I do not see why.
Chris Pine, too, showed everything it took, and I liked his character almost as much as Gal Gadot - because he was... human? Not the American dream, but just an ordinary man with his fears, his opinion and his vision of the world, for which he could sacrifice his life. Did not many people do this during the war? They sacrificed themselves for faith, for people, for the fact that the world could be made a little better by preventing at least one of the evils. Do something about it.
David Thewlis also became a decoration of the film, because I always liked him in his famous role, and then he opened up from a new side. In general, he is a good speaker, so I can say that it was a pleasure to watch him, and I am glad that he got this role, because it suited him as well as possible. In any case, it is nice to see familiar faces even in a large-scale superhero movie.
Bottom line: I can't say it's a breakthrough of the year. But this is a very pleasant film with a moral, with a beautiful picture that will not leave anyone indifferent, with a good cast and wonderful musical accompaniment, without which, perhaps, this film would not have turned out so impressive and bright (for me personally). It’s pathos, like any other movie, but after spending two and a half hours watching, I didn’t regret it because I got a lot of pleasant impressions. Perhaps such films are also needed, and much more useful than others, in which there is nothing but action and boring, overloaded dialogue? There is no soul.
Meet Wonder Woman at 'ura'. We look forward to the Justice League.
In the imagination of the authors — beautiful and relevant, on the screen — absurd, ridiculous and stupid ...
To begin with, I’m really surprised that 90% of the world’s film presses proclaimed the film to be close to a masterpiece; the “victory of feminism” – the reviews are full of similar headlines. And it seems that the viewer is not averse to seeing such a movie on the screens, eating a mountain of popcorn and waiting for a full "action" .
For me, it was like dividing into two parts. Beautiful seats and good camera work, a beautiful start, so to speak, not beaten. It’s really tasteful, it’s interesting to watch... but what starts in the second half is completely absurd. There is a feeling that two different directors worked on the film.
First, I want to express my dissatisfaction with the chosen genre . Fiction is fantastic, but the exact historical dates and events in the feature film outrage me, besides those events that we treat with such trepidation. And you are afraid that someone will have in mind some fact from this film that someone will say that about a woman in a superhero costume, thanks to which the Second World War ended.
I will continue the topic of shortcomings – the final of the film, about which I have already said a couple of not the most flattering words... The climax – by definition, should be the most interesting, but “Wonder Woman” rules are not written, the ending of the film turned out to be a stupid fight, the outcome of which was immediately clear. Especially boring turned out to be clichéd super-hero special effects: and this is an abundance of low-mouchen, which only more delays the ending, and worked out tricks, and, of course, the absence of a single manifestation of the weakness of the heroine – because she is all-powerful.
But, as they say, "beauty will save the world" (to my surprise I was not the only one in the review used this winged expression - but it immediately comes to mind), and the film this beauty tried to save. Acting is far from ideal, but although these circumstances “softened the punishment”: the titled Miss Israel Gal Gadot and the enviable handsome Chris Pine, known for “Star Trek”, made me admire myself.
In the end, I will say this: the idea of the guilt of the person himself in his troubles, which the authors tried their best to invest in the film is really good, the idea of the feminist message of the picture turned out to be worthy, because Hollywood does not seek to create something about truly strong women, this attempt was justified, but the quality of it leaves much to be desired.
Wonder Woman, or as DC & nbsp;fairy tale filmed...
We all know the sad history of the DC Cinematic Universe, which has not been set since the very first film. Every time people went to the movie, expecting something really cool and left, carrying disappointment and resentment in their hearts. And that went on for three movies (sorry for my sarcasm, but that’s the DC universe). And then there were rumors that the new film 'Wonder Woman' will be able to win the audience and give the long-awaited gulp of DC victory. How did it work? For me personally NO!!! NO ANYWAY NO!!! I was expecting an exciting film that intertwined Greek mythology, comic Amazons (because they have almost nothing to do with myths), the events of the First World War, magic, love and an interesting story of becoming a beautiful warrior heroine. Well, I'm being punished for my expectations and hopes. Sorry. What went wrong for me personally?
1 Mythology.
Being quite far away from the comic book universe (both DC and Marvel and Dark Horses and whatever), I have no idea if the presented interpretation of mythology took place in the stories about Wonder Woman or whether it was ' genius idea' film, but I can only say one thing: so to spoil Greek mythology - it is necessary to try. To give the God of War Ares the qualities of the Goddess of discord Eris is something new from the category ' not for my horse'.
2 Characters.
Except for Diana, no one remembers it. Even her name ' Love' I can't really remember. Only Dr. Yad (and only because of the scene where she was crushed by a car).
3 Morality of the main character.
On the one hand, Diana almost the whole film says that all people are as good and wonderful as Pope Zeus bequeathed, and that this bad evil Ares is to blame for everything. And at the same time, she calmly and without any kind of chops right and left all those who do not allow her to reach the long-awaited goal.
4 Mother of the Year.
Yes, yes, the legendary Hippolyta, who did not come up with anything better than raising her daughter on some fairy tales, banally not explaining to the already grown-up Diana that the world is not as simple as it seems. And then she scolded her daughter for living fairy tales. What you sow, you reap.
5) General ' film lesson'.
The idea that ' each of us has a dark and bright side that pushes us to do certain things' old as the world, but realized in different ways each time. In this case, it was a hard lesson to Diana about the nature of human nature and that wars are primarily the fault of the people themselves, since war is not only about loss and death, but also about profit and wealth. Many are willing to go to terrible for personal gain and ambition, and Diana realized this.
Separately, I would like to touch on the topic of love, but this is such a superficial subject that I do not want to talk. The picture in the film is sometimes beautiful to the point of horror, the action, which was not praised except that only lazy, is sometimes accompanied by such cheap special effects that you want to pull your eyes out. And not a word was said about feminism or sexism, which was also there. A couple of times I was struck by some emotions, but it is a pity that they are all negative in general. The overall atmosphere of the film was more like a gloomy fairy tale than an action movie about the First World War and superheroes. And this tale by the end turned into pink rainbows and ' belief in love'. Oh, you want a hardcore, really dark fairy tale, see 'Vindaria' - what I expected from Wonder Baba, albeit not so bloody.

What matters is what you believe. I believe in love!
Unfortunately, I went to the movie with high expectations, which is bad, even though I got to the premiere. It’s a good thing that the movie has lived up to expectations.
Diana is wildly canonical, the plot is wildly banal, but there is a twist. The twist is not bad, and I even liked it.
The whole film is an introduction of the Amazon princess to the modern world, and her realization that the world is not binary and is not divided into zeros and ones. Her character in the course of the development of the plot becomes smarter, but indifferent. The love line is not even infuriating (although it is also wildly banal).
In terms of audiovisual maximum good. Hanz has moved away from superhero cinema, and what was before in DeCe’s films (namely his compositional masterpieces) is not present here, except for one soundtrack, which is shoved wherever possible. What came to replace him is good, but not so great.
The development of the plot kills something that the film originally attracted. But not about that, because spoiler.
In the end, it turned out to be a good movie, which, unfortunately, is not a masterpiece, but not the shit that was Suicide Squad. But, of course, 97% on tomatoes he still did not deserve, and BPS did not deserve 30%.
8 out of 10 Israeli women.
I admit I have a high bar, the Dark Knight. And, although I did not expect that ZJ will be shot at the same level, but I could not imagine such a nightmare.
Idea, plot, acting, CGI - one nightmare.
Apparently, Warner Brothers are trying to end the DC universe in a particularly perverse way.
From the very first shot, it is impossible to focus on what is happening due to the disgustingly painted sea. Then young Diana breaks off a cliff - and we close up see how ineptly the frame is projected. It seems that during the production of the film suddenly fell by 2 times the exchange rate of the American currency, while the budget was fixed in it, and since it was necessary to pay “dear” specialists from Mexico and the Czech Republic, the money for decent graphics from the Warner brothers was not enough. Yes, the real feeling is that the effects are not done! For a comic film, saving on special effects is simply unacceptable, a comic without high-quality CGI - that New Year without fireworks.
Gal Gadot’s game is simply a masterpiece of wood. All she can do is frown her eyebrows and cross her arms in the block. Still, models are good on the catwalk, and in the movie they are too afraid to turn to the camera sideways.
The idea is what??? Trying to top the Fifth Element? So Besson did not discover America, but at least he did not burst from pathos in the style of Sergei Lukyanenko.
Maybe in the beginning there was an attempt to develop the idea that a woman is peace, a man is war, but then there was a whole mess of unfinished thoughts. This is not even interesting for a fifth-grader (well, if he has not yet entered puberty, of course, then at least half-naked girls will admire).
The hero of Chris Pine tried to somehow brighten up this banality feast with his jokes, but they drowned in general wretchedness.

When a girl in Logan, whom everyone could not help but love, turns the cross (symbol of Christianity) into the letter Ha, perhaps not everyone will notice this rather serious statement. People familiar with the pantheon of Olympic gods, I think, even less.
But still, in defense of Ares... Yes, he is an exterminator (in some translations), and even possibly ' god of war'. But here it is necessary to understand the difference between war in the modern view and war in the ideas of the ancient Greeks, who only did this, because the main productive force at that time were slaves, and a bronze knife in leather t-shirts can not destroy many people. For machine guns, tanks, airplanes, as well as for chemical gadgets, it is rather necessary to thank Hephaestus. Among the worthy Hellenes under the walls of Troy, the sons of Ares were at least more than half. And the most important thing to understand about the gods at all is that if you fight (full of courage), then you are already in the power of Ares. And if you're in a secluded lab writing formulas, it's more like Athena's tricks. In addition, the gods, especially the Olympians, were (are and will be) immortal, and even other gods cannot kill them (unless the earthlings decide to change the position of their planet in outer space). Yes, I must say that the Greeks did not like Ares much, and that is understandable, because he is a neighbor of Athena. Naturally, the Greeks interpreted any interaction between them in favor of it. But from Olympus they did it ' they did not dare to expel'. But the American ' filmmakers' such tricks - spit. At first glance, they do not seem to understand what Olympus is and do not seem to care about it. But it just seems. In fact, they understand. And stamp such masterpieces, with the same zeal as the Soviet ' cinematographers' stamped their - masterpieces of socialist realism.
What did they do to Ghost in the Shell? The philosophy of the film with the charming avenger of all times and peoples is several orders of magnitude more primitive than the cartoon-prototype. And notice how the roles of men and women change. But it is, a retreat. Let's go back to Miracle.
Wonder Woman, possessing breasts that clearly do not correspond to the meaning of the word Amazon, moves simply terrible. She has plastic, sorry, cash cow.
' Amazed & #39; technical capabilities of motorcycles during the First World War. Not every modern motorcycle can do that.
The only moment I liked was when a burning German plane from World War I crashed into the blue skies above a serene fairytale island - it's really strong (almost postmodern).
I did not read a million laudatory reviews of this tape, limited to viewing the ratings: ' Wow!' - from 8 to 10. Well, as you know, there is no dispute about taste. I am not going to break the tape so beloved by the audience to dust. I will say this: this is perhaps the most naive and sometimes even simple film from the entire superhero series. Incredibly one-dimensional in the characters, so black and white: here are the bad, here are the good, and this is the battle between them and, naturally, the victory of the sweet over the nasty. Yay, comrades! But I wanted more. The film was somewhat discouraging, the wait was long, the trailers were impressive, and the feeling remained that the fantique was better than candy.
What's wrong? What, on the contrary, is great? All these mega noises, fiery tornadoes, throwing armored vehicles, jumping up and down very nothing, quite in the tradition of comic battles, and Wonder Woman in a bikini is also above all praise. I really liked the beginning, the beautiful Amazons and the athletic Robin Wright as Antiope. Exotic, beautiful, kind of like even the entanglement was outlined: he came out of the fog (read, floated out). Except he's Chris Pine. I know it's pure taste, I don't like this actor. Even outwardly, it seems repulsive. He looks like the much-loved Joaquin Phoenix and the almost surreal Jonathan Rees-Myers, but some kind of maniac face, not a hero in Mr. Pine. However, all these are personal addictions. But maybe that’s why I didn’t worry about his fate.
What's important in any comic book? Right, respect the status quo. There is a hero, so there must be a villain. But since when does the god of war look almost photographically like the Russian writer Maxim Gorky? Why is a hanging mustache sticking through a hole in the helmet? Was it possible to transform the hero? After all, we live in the age of computer technology. So the villain didn't work out here either.
Now about her, that wonderful savior of our sinful world. Gal Gadot has a rather interesting appearance: at times she is phenomenally beautiful, and sometimes simple, a kind of plump-cheeked naive young lady. But the figure in the minimum of clothes makes an impression. So in terms of external parameters. And here's the rest... Why most of the film she walks around with her mouth half open and a deer stare at everyone and everything. Are you naive? I don't think so. Phenomenally educated girl, as many languages as she knows. Not to mention the 24 volumes of a treatise on love pleasures that Diana studied at a very tender age. She reminded me of Kristen Stewart, who for the first 5 years of her career also did not know that you can close your mouth.
In the end, I did not experience any excitement, but only a kind of boring calm. Well, I looked at it, like, nothing. Although in this case, again, the wrapper promised more than the lollipop wrapped in it could give.
Simple, but still charming Miracle
In this film, the pressure mechanism is so simplified that it is difficult to squeeze something voluminous out of it, but this flows only in a positive direction, because it has everything that is valued in the field of film works. At the same time, we have to face not only an aggressive environment, absorbing gloomy pessimism, wrapped in a political and philosophical basis, piled with countless references to comics – this is a different direction and it is as specific as it is unique. We are faced with a rather light, rather positive, ideological, embraced, chewed, dramatic and sentimental story, soon shrouded in a hopeless military color adjoining a foggy alienation, changing the tone from a brightly colored blue and blooming green to the color of spilled black ink, weighing it down with military conflicts, giving the necessary seriousness. He does not jump from event to event, in order to then compress them into one – he smoothly and slowly on behalf of Diana tells about the naivety of her undertakings and the inevitability of their outcome, simultaneously delving into the theme of war with quietly trampling boots of their garrisons by two important persons who planned to turn the course of the war with biological weapons.
Consider the first good half of the film, excluding certain events, he plays out in a comedic mood, using a new environment, inexperience partly in subordination and ignorance with local etiquette in the eyes of the young princess of the Amazons - Diana, and the creators to the fullest break away on this field, because the questions are a lot, and the answers climb either with a horseshoe, then with irony, then with direct ridicule, because the story of Diana's life and birth in his right mind seems ridiculous, because some jokes are more often repelled from her interaction with the world. And the advantage of that is that they're damn relevant and thoughtful and funny, and they tend to leave the chemistry of the characters in such a mood that you're willing to trade that half of the movie for the other half, covering that expression with praise. But the biggest plus resulting from it, is that all that action does not turn into a farce, the creators clearly see the line between drama, humor and action, but sometimes finding that they are about to lose the balancing pole and fall into the pit of laughter, sucking everything in a row, but then still professionals juggle them, and do it so that the viewer will not have any doubts on this account, he will light up in the soul shooting sincere laughter and cleverly hide it back, giving tearful moments /br>
The second half of the film breaks it through the knowledge of the echoes of the war and its consequences, terrible wounds, deaths and soaking up the pain that people experienced fighting in the war, feelings capable of revenge awaken in it, releasing anger and cruelty to the will, there is no longer to joke, although they slip by, but already implemented to the ears of military actions make themselves felt. The action here is not as much as we would like, but what is, rises up incredibly spectacular, and slow-mo serves as an emphasis on impressive choreography. We go the way with her from beginning to end, from a small crumb dreaming of a warlike future, to an adult and already strengthened the character of a mighty warrior, being involved in many “historical” facts, with the permission of which even an uninformed viewer plunges from head to toe into this sweet, warm and yet rude and cold adventure, stirring up all sorts of tastes, giving such an electrified narrative from which blows fascinating.
Gal Gadot plays the full range of emotions of her character, we can easily see in her everything that appears on the screen, from naivety, warmth, frivolity and openness, to tightness, abrasion and aggressiveness, doing it so skillfully that even if you want, you can not take your eyes off her, a true warrior. Chris Pine, through his character, pleasantly complements her sharpened old and new feelings, giving absolutely all moments the sincerity and warmth of their relationship, their chemistry, and the duo will be remembered for a long time. And a few words about the rest of the team, it's a funny squad, where everyone brings something different. Ares here is the main and at once secondary villain, for all evil lies in the hearts of people, Ares here acts for the most part as a verbal warrior, only pushing people to dark deeds, whose deeds originate in their black heart, so he serves only one thing - to get to the true nature of Wonder Woman and try to defile her through people. The other superficially mentioned two villains contribute to the advancement of the war, namely General Eric and Doctor Poison, but their actions do not require much attention, they serve only for a climax, their characters are transparent and their words are tasteless, for the whole focus lies on overcoming the obstacles from the brave Diana.
As a result, we have those ingredients that are famous for their value – namely, a carefully thought out story and a scrupulous approach to the characters whose characters are fully revealed, and all that action, humor and beauty of the frame serve as a great addition.
I will save these people and you will save the world.
It seems to be beautiful, but in some places it is wonderful, like spectacular, but it beats too much logic, like quality, but taste issues remain. Here are approximately such impressions and formed in addition to a few more positive points, which I will talk about now.
It all begins with the story of growing up a little girl on the island of the Amazon. There she grows up, learns the world limited to literature, and then leaves her house forming herself as a woman and a superhero, learning the world of people more and more. And since we are talking about Wonder Woman 39, her sense of justice, honor and humanity prevent her from getting used to what is happening in the world, because she leaves her home in the midst of a world conflict in order to save people from the God of war. Therefore, she goes to war to prevent her worst enemy from imposing chaos and death on people.
In general, there are no particularly ardent claims to the plot, but there are nagging already for taste preferences. For me, for example, the synchronization of war and this type of superheroine has raised some questions about being too fantastic, as funny as it sounds, given the genre of the film. Yes, and in the original comics it was, of course, but nevertheless not so clear. Too strange (but note, very spectacular and beautiful) looks a girl breaking through the trenches, mud, barbed wire and bracelets beating off the entire volley literally from the entire firearm, including machine guns. This concept of superhero abilities is similar to what happens in episodes of Marvel movies, which feature Captain America. Both superheroes do not have obvious immunity to bullets, but if Captain America does not often fall under the queue of firearms, then Wonder Woman breaks records for beating a whole hail of bullets with bracelets, equipped in his trademark swimsuit.
That’s probably the only claim I’ve had in the Marvel movies, all about Captain America. Perhaps in the comics, the fight against firearms does not look so wonderful, but in the cinema it really looks ridiculous, sometimes even in extreme form, when the enemy runs to the hero instead of shooting at long distances and waits for his comrade to be neutralized and taken for him.
Gal Gadot and Chris Pine perfectly performed the roles, Chris especially pleased, his role turned out to be very colorful, and the abundance of drama makes you empathize with the characters. Both actors convey the passion and ambition of their characters well, with one infecting the ambitions of the other and this process is fully transmitted to the viewer. The secondary characters are also very colorful, and thanks to them, the atmosphere of war is conveyed as well as possible in a superhero film. The drama and military suffering of the people around the heroine make us not forget about the war, even if the story is dedicated to Wonder Woman, she herself does not let us forget and distract from the war. And against the background of the ongoing cruelty, the banal desire for justice no longer seems so banal.
The plot with the war certainly played a key role, the film does not look like another entertainment product based on solid special effects (like the same Batman vs. Superman) and Wonder Woman fits perfectly into this story. It does not look like ' The First Avenger' where war creates a hero, here rather the hero creates himself against the background of war and the figures involved in it.
Here and feminine beauty, and courageous courage, and the foundations of society in need of stimulus, and the opposition of good and evil through intermediaries, drama, humor, dynamics and all this is consistently mixed for a comfortable perception. It is recommended to watch.
The DC universe is rich in interesting characters, just like the Marvel universe. But the movie business is complicated and the costs of films were justified, you have to create restarts, remakes and other products. But there is still a new fashion – the movie universe, which has both crossovers and solo projects. DC, like competitors, followed the same path, but decided almost immediately to rush from place to quarry. First there was a solo film about Superman, then he was pitted against Batman. Then we were shown that villains can save the world. But on the threshold of “Justice League” and some characters are not very familiar to movie fans, so meet the only and unique Diana Prince.
Of course, the film about Diana Prince is not so difficult to perceive and does not differ from other soloists, regardless of this or that universe. In fact, we have the same “First Avenger”, only in a female guise, however, given her abilities, it looks much fresher than other films about individual heroes before. And you will agree, a beautiful woman on the screen who spreads enemies and inspires others to exploits, this is much better than guys in costumes, which are already many, both from ordinary fighters and from fiction.
Maybe this movie will be considered by many to be feminist, but here, as it is already said, no one is too obsessed with this fashionable topic. Since the whole action takes place against the background of the First World War, on the screen heroic feats are made equally, both Diana and a detachment of soldiers. Of course, the main character is given more time, but other guys are also given to turn around, which by the way was not in the "First Avenger".
The heroes of the film are performed by actors of different sizes. Wonder Woman herself performed by Gal Gadot is simply stunning. Femininity, intelligence, beauty, courage and some naivety are almost the main features of Diana in this picture, which Gadot perfectly conveys. Behind the main male role is Chris Pine, in the role of a brave scout who is in love with the main character. Ewan Bremner is a very frequent guest on the sites of films about wars, because he has a secondary role in which he is responsible for humor.
The main decoration of the picture is the music, which is somewhat changed by the composer Rupert Gregson-Williams, but still cheerful. Special effects that do not come to the fore and do not spoil the picture. The chemistry between the main characters. Yes, the drama here also found a place and sometimes the relationship between Diana and Steve to look much more interesting than the battles and heroically spoken speeches of a character.
Compared to Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman has fewer complex plot twists, dark tones and puzzles. At first, everything seems primitive — but after the first forty minutes, you begin to forget that you are in front of an ordinary single film about a certain character and start just enjoying the picture. We can say that this tape is not a superhero movie, some fantastic drama with elements of action. How to interpret and understand everything.
A superhero movie has been waiting for a long time. Twelve years ago came a completely failed "Electra", and since then, it seemed to abandon this idea. It is much easier to make a movie about Batman, Spider-Man or Wolverine. It’s easier not because they’re all masculine characters, but because they’ve gone much deeper over the decades. And, in turn, they are more elaborated not because men, but because most of them were conceived as organic inhabitants of fictional universes, and not as an icon of anything. In this case, an icon of feminism. With long legs, a perfect figure, big eyes and chic hair – in short, with all the attributes by which women in modern society can not be judged from the word “at all”.
Wonder Woman has always been and always will be a good time. In 1941, when her character was first created, women not so long ago gained the right to vote in the American elections. Two decades later, they needed a symbol that clearly demonstrates their equality, and often superiority over men, as a consequence, Vanderwoman was drawn.
Now, in 2017, feminism has become the new black, replacing racism in a difficult battlefield. Therefore, the release of a film about a superheroin is not a long-awaited adaptation of femicomix, but in many ways a tribute to fashion. An additional confirmation of this is the director Patty Jenkins, in the track record of which there is absolutely nothing. On the other hand, if a man shot Wonder Woman, it would hardly be appreciated by anyone, and no one needs extra accusations of chauvinism.
The topic of feminism is not touched upon by chance in the text. The emancipation and position of women in society is played out endlessly throughout the film. Starting from a very banal opposition – the Amazon-inhabited island of Femiscira, which looks like a garden of paradise, and the rest of the world, full of anger, pain and suffering, where male rulers are at the helm – and ending with phrases that men, except for reproductive function, are no longer needed.
There is also a mandatory scene where generals, advisers and other important people decide on the issue of a truce, can not come to a conclusion for many months, but Diana bursts in and resolves the issue in a couple of seconds. But, of course, she is treated with a fair amount of skepticism – because she has no penis, what can she know about war? By the way, this is also the sin of the last Pirates: there is also the main character, which no one takes seriously for the same reason, although she is a scientist. In general, the beacon of the 2017 films is marked and clear.
However, if we consider cinema apart from the issue of feminism, there is still little good in it. In the beginning, I mentioned the depth of the character’s work – it’s not there. Diana is so distilled, emasculated, and correct that she has tooth decay. A perfect daughter-in-law for a grandchild in the eyes of any grandmother.
Unlike other superheroes, she is devoid of all the flaws, vices and passions inherent in each person, even with superpowers. There is no contradiction in it, and therefore it is boring. Even the comical situations that she is sure to fall into because of her naivety are more annoying than funny.
Wonder Woman might have been overshadowed by an antagonist, but she's not here as such. There is an abstract enemy, Ares, whose influence we can clearly see, but he appears only in the final action scene for ten minutes. At the same time, his pathetic speeches are not impressive, and the appearance in some moments causes a smile.
Some similarity of potential main villains can be seen in two other characters – German General Erich Ludendorff and Dr. Maru. The latter would quite pass for an evil double of Diana, but, alas, she did not get screen time, and the story remained a secret. Same thing with Vanderwoman's allies: a kind of "Inglourious Bastards" on minimalism, with great potential for disclosure, which Patty Jenkins simply did not use.
For two hours, we are only looking at Wonder Woman and no one else. It’s exhausting – even if it’s played by model Gal Gadot.
Overall, despite the downsides and explicit promotion of the ideas of one popular movement in its not-so-best manifestation, this film is a head above what DC Comics has been doing lately. After the disgusting "Batman v Superman" or the failed "Suicide Squad" I wanted to wash myrmistin eyes, here 140 minutes pass relatively painlessly. A long and illogical plot is compensated by good action scenes, and when the action finally goes into the trenches, it becomes more interesting.
And it's as if Diana is sidelined by the laws of physics, when she walks on the battlefield, fighting off machine gun queues with armor, and with a shield - German shells, then she is Wonder Woman. Only soldiers look at her with admiration and awe and think: "Ah, what a woman, I would like that." I don’t need it, but it took a couple of hours.
4 out of 10
Modern cinema is literally full of superhero films, which, due to their popularity, in the future will be more and more. Good or bad is hard to say. In the end, the only thing that really matters is the quality of the picture as a whole, and not the plot ideas as such: after all, you can spoil the genius idea, and from a simple one - squeeze 120%, as, for example, did Nicholas Winding Refn with ' Drive'.
The reality is that now almost everyone, from ordinary viewers to the creators of the films themselves, clinged to only a few, as they believe, important questions, among which, for example, ' what should be the atmosphere - gloomy or positive?', ' Will the film overcome the nth line at the box office?, ' well, and how about without 'canon - not canon' For some reason (I don’t even want to delve into this) these questions, and the answers to them, have become directly associated with the concept of ' quality'. That's not even close. Producers Jeff Jones and John Berg have concluded that the commercial success and warm reception of critics for Wonder Woman 39 has provided them with attention! . .drum fraction...optimistic narrative, positive atmosphere, so to speak. Well, comrades, we will never come to a bright future with such conclusions. BH is very positive only in its first half, the second - it looks like BPS, and not in the best performance. I saw nothing good in the horrors of war and the desperation of people. Yes, the overall mood is clearly more fun than many DC movies, so it’s no worse, no better – just different. Comparing this is like arguing that a thriller or comedy, drama or stand-up is better.
Back to the problem of 'quality'. I share the positive reviews about this picture, but, nevertheless, I will try not to succumb to fleeting emotions, but take a sensible look at the final product.
Probably, the main thing that wins BH is a rather high level of integrity of the work, visible punctures that we observed in BPS, and especially in ' Suicide Squad' - there is no. But that doesn’t make this movie anything special. It was done as it should have been done before.
The lack of ragged editing and dialogue a la 'Marta! - why did you call this name?', clearly played a strong role in the hand of BH, but it's like ' on fishlessness and cancer - fish'. I don’t agree, in principle, that this is the best thing DC has had since the Dark Knight 39. And what about ' Guardians' and the same Bps. Wait, you say, I just talked about punctures in BPS, how come? And here we are - forget for a second about good editing and perfect Gal Gadot, and what do we have in the rest? - a bunch of stamps, on top of nothing. Everything that we condemn the adaptation of comics for more than one year. I'm not going to be unfounded:
The characters aren't fully revealed, and we don't really sympathize with them. What's the point of sympathizing? The victims of the war are impersonal and just an extra, appearing for a couple of minutes, the background for a warrior flying through the air, like a kung fu master from Chinese fantasy. In general, the characters are template, and, do not count as a spoiler, but for the whole film no one was particularly hurt. Of course, it is impossible that someone did not die heroically, but it becomes clear that even a Japanese robot will not beat our goddess - she got off with just one scratch, and then at the very beginning of the story. How can you worry about someone who doesn’t get hurt? Even Ares just stretched her a few muscles. The rearguard of the detachment, which in almost any other film would be used up, here we have, too, lucky, as I do not know who, in battle, there is no sense from him, and the motivation of their actions and the history of becoming as individuals is outlined schematically. We recall the topic with 'positive atmosphere' - here we have the deadly gas, crowds of Germans who fire from everything you can, but only civilians and ordinary soldiers suffer, all the same crowd, to which a very cold attitude. Our squad to save the world is by definition invulnerable.
- Continuing the theme with the disclosure of characters, note a little and the script. Thank you so much for the lack of stupid phrases and primitive dialogues. However, there is nothing outstanding here either. The plot lines as such are template and simple. Wonder Woman is revealed according to the typical rolled-in path of the ancient hero: divine origin, childhood filled with myths about the creation of the world and the highest destination, training in martial arts, and the actual fulfillment of this very purpose. And isn't that what we saw in all of them ' Battles of the Titans' and ' Gods of Egypt'? It is clear that in a worse performance, but the essence is the same. This is the problem of the whole BH - we were shown a beautiful goddess, a suitable editing, acceptable dialogue, but there is no depth - there is no character for whom you can not just cheer, but whose feelings and beliefs you can feel. Cardboard and contrived look just everything and everything. Cardboard, of course, is beautiful, multicolored, but the meaning does not change. The antiheroes are extremely inconclusive, first of all, our main boss to pass is Ares. That is why BPS is better - it is more powerful on the head emotionally, and stronger technically.
- So here we come to the special effects. They didn't impress me at all. No, why aren't they bad, just, uh, normal. That's all. Unlike again BPS, where Batman pleased us with a bunch of interesting lotions, upgraded both technically and psychologically. And General Zod, Doomsday and Lex Luthor are clearly more interesting than Ares. From the point of view of the selection of actors for the role of antiheroes, BH looks a little more solid (I would even say that somewhere unexpected), but they were not given much disclosure. The whole struggle of ideologies consists in a couple of lines of text and a couple of minutes, and in places and seconds of action on the screen. And the special effects only emphasize the doubtfulness of what is happening. The idea about Ares was not bad, but it was not implemented very much, and our miracle goddess has a very meager arsenal, which was 100% demonstrated in the trailer. In BPS graphics are terribly cool, perhaps the best for many years of creating superhero films.
Result: a well-tailored film with albeit a short but pleasant aftertaste, the undoubted advantage of which is Gal Gadot, which her charisma pulls the picture to a serious level, where BPS and & #39; Keepers' are already waiting with a master class about how special effects and emotional torment of characters should look like.
P.S. After watching the trailer 'Justice League' and considering the interviews of Jones and Berg, I expect a new epic puncture in the style 'Suicide Squad'. Sadly. It seemed that after 'Logan' and some rehabilitation of BPS, everyone will finally get how to shoot, which means 'quality'. Dreams, dreams...
Does anyone remember that at one time Soviet schoolchildren necessarily studied the book of dear Leonid Ilyich 'Small Earth'? So that book was about the fact that the decisive contribution to the victory over the Reich was made by political leader Brezhnev. You'll see what I'm getting at later.
We live in a time when being a hero is unfashionable. The very existence of heroism is regularly questioned. But since there is a demand, it must be satisfied, and this is done by superheroes who are distinguished by the fact that it is impossible to seriously consider them a role model. Because the viewer will never be bitten by a mutant spider, the viewer will not build himself an indestructible power armor, and did not come from Krypton. So they save the worlds, not much risking and not claiming anything.
Until recently.
World War II is still a sacred cow, so Captain America had to fight Hydra without touching the actual events. The First World does not have such a status, so its participants received a full measure.
It begins with the usual stereotypes about the senseless slaughter unleashed by stupid politicians and led by incompetent generals. Who's going to make a difference? And the superhero goddess Diana. She's gonna show these stupid, stupid males where a woman belongs. She'll tell the field marshals they're cowards. She will not spend weeks in the trenches, but will jump in sexy armor directly at the Germans, beating off bullets with wrists and shells with a shield. She will personally kill with a faithful sword not some conventional Kaiser general, but a natural Erich Ludendorff.
In fact, you already understand that feminist ideas are not the biggest sin of the film. If the goddess were a man, it wouldn't be any better. Because what the film did was to put the real heroes of PMW in the mud, and in their place tried to drag a crooked stilted superhero into their place. She won the PMV, it turns out.
And the scary thing is, no one seems to understand that. .
