Marvel Studios, the main supplier of the most expensive and epic comic books to date, has managed to create its own personal little tradition over the past ten years. After watching each of their new films, viewers are in no hurry to leave the cinemas. Literally in the format of a reflex, the company developed their need to sit out long credits to see a small piece of a new picture or a reference to favorite characters. Studio DC in their adaptations of comics also managed to create a reflex tradition: going to the cinema for their new project, each viewer turns into an enthusiastic optimist. Seriously, most of us, before watching another masterpiece of Marvel’s main competitor, said to ourselves: “Here’s finally Batman v Superman/Suicide Squad/Man of Steel, and this time they will definitely succeed!” And every time, all hopes were dashed about a false marketing strategy. Everyone was hoping for Wonder Woman, too. Devoted fans, ordinary viewers, even feminists, who made their petitions to repaint the main character’s armpits in trailers, because they shone painfully. Applauded and reviews of Western critics, who almost chorus shouted that “Wonder Woman” is the best DC comic book since “The Dark Knight”. Surprisingly, we were not deceived this time. It didn’t make it any easier.
The legendary comic book heroine’s first solo film shows us her rise as a superhuman. Here we see her as a little girl taught by wild but pretty Amazons the wisdom of war. Here to them on the island dives British spy, who tells that the world is in the First world war. Our heroine, of course, decides to help humanity, tired of this meat grinder, simultaneously wanting to find her main enemy - the ancient god of war Ares. And somewhere at this moment begins all the epic nonsense spoken with stone faces, which everyone so resents in the films from DC.
The first half-hour of the film is extremely deceptive, setting the audience on a really positive way. Unusual style of the island, where live fighting women with swords in their hands, intriguing plot plot, cute jokes about Wonder Woman who can not socialize in London at the beginning of the twentieth century, where the world is ruled by terry chauvinism. Basically, everything that we were shown in the trailers, luring us to the session. But by the second half of the film, the story begins to visually and conceptually copy the movie Batman v Superman so hated by many.
On the stage are absolutely cardboard villains, as if straight came to us from spy parodies in the spirit of “Austin Powers”. All further actions can be described in one dialogue:
- Hi, I'm Ares, I don't like people because they're all pathetic cockroaches.
- And I'm Wonder Woman, I'm gonna beat you now!
- But I thought we would be allies in evil, you just don't understand anything!
- No, I don't. Let's fight!
The villain is defeated, the curtain is falling rapidly. Absolutely no motivation of the characters, an incomprehensible love line, pathetic dialogues about good, evil and the place of the heroes in this whole mess - this is a set of tired cliches that DC writers continue to revere their viewers, absolutely not wanting to learn from their own mistakes.
Of course, the same guys from Marvel also often have script failures and replays, but at least they can focus on their characters, who with one charisma can drag the entire film. What do we see here? British spy played by Chris Pine in the film plays the role of furniture assigned to the main character only to accumulate millions of sometimes extremely stupid and vulgar jokes and move a couple of plot branches. The main villain looks at the level of the Doomsday monster from Batman v Superman, only instead of growling, he tears from his mouth pathetic monologues about the doom of the human species. And, what is most terrible, Wonder Woman herself practically does not reveal herself in the film, which bears her name in its title. The first half of the tape she looks like a naive fool who wants to help women, children, hamsters, the human species, and that sparrow on a pine tree. Edakaya Cinderella in a revealing outfit with feminist ambitions. In the second half of the picture, her character is completely erased, turning her into an angry Hulk who “wants to destroy and want to break Ares.” Is this what feminists expected from the first female superhero on the big screen in 12 years? It seems that the armpits turned out to be the least of all the problems of this work.
Finishes all this absurdity blockbuster component of the picture. And so modest by the standards of comic books budget of $ 110 million creators prefer to spend on absolutely unimpressive and incomprehensible action scenes. All the action on the screen in moments of fierce battles looks something plush, unreal and, most importantly, absolutely not inventive. Again, the heroes throw tanks at each other, wave their fists and jump from obstacle to obstacle like a rubber ball from a toy store. Cinema is absolutely not surprising and at some point banal begins to drive you into anguish.
But despite the fact that the film looks pathetic against the backdrop of more talented and self-critical competitors, Wonder Woman is truly the best film from DC in recent years. Well, just because his other brothers, even the first half an hour of their timekeeping, were not able to entertain and engage their viewers. There are sometimes good scenes, tolerable jokes, and Gal Gadot still bribes us with his natural beauty and charisma. But if you look at Wonder Woman without looking back at its predecessors, the film certainly doesn’t hold up to any criticism. Of course, it is honorable to be the first among the worst, but only in your narrowly focused creative party. The pillars of the comic book genre of the studio, which gave us the masterpiece The Dark Knight, are still far away. But we will once again hope for the best. No one canceled the optimist's reflex. We are waiting for the Justice League, which will definitely, without any doubt, finally fix everything and put it in its place.

“Wonder Woman” is a picture directed by Petty Jenkins, made with soul, attention and has its own interesting style, not like Man of Steel or Batman vs. Superman. The film has a place of mythology, brutal realism and a simple, but at the same time real morality about love, which is not found in other films of the DC Cinematic Universe. They raise themes of war and peace, poverty and wealth, and human cruelty.
It is impossible not to say about the quality of the director’s work and Jenkins’ special plot techniques. It is also worth noting the work of Zack Snyder, which to some extent influenced DC with his shooting, some of his features and visuals can be seen in the film.
Speaking of visualization. She was great. I really liked the locations and how we were all served with different effects and gloomy filters.
The movie looks better than DC’s past. The plot is smooth and there are no holes tearing the timekeeping and preventing to understand the overall picture.
But the picture is not without cliché. For example, the main antagonist of the picture is Ares. I don't understand his motivation. I thought he was angry because he had to, not because he was motivated. But still the villain turned out worthy, full of surprise and charisma.
In conclusion, the picture puts DCEU on its feet and opens a huge path for creativity, setting a new tone. I hope that Warner Bros. will consolidate its success with further projects of this movie universe.
Wonder Woman was designed not only to save the world from universal evil, but also to save the Cinematic Universe from bad reviews. It worked both ways. But what are the qualities?
In the film there is a cheerful action. There are enough spectacular scenes that, for some reason, are not supported by a suitable musical accompaniment. Rapid in action scenes first creates the desired immersion effect, and then, due to its excessive use, ceases to impress and rather annoys. In general, visual effects are at a good level, although the critically acclaimed BPS is very far away. And in general, if you compare with the defeated critics of BPS, then Wonder Woman wins only in a more qualitative prescribing of characters. But because of this detail, the film looks evener and does not crumble like a rental version of Snyder's film.
What's in the film at the top level is the cast. Actors perform well, but the lines they are given often kill all their efforts. Just pay attention to the dialogue. In addition to the usual pathos, they are simply poorly prescribed. For example, when Chris Pine’s character (you won’t remember his name) first enters the Amazon realm and stays alive thanks to a miracle rescue, his entire reaction after being rescued is to ask Diana something like “Where am I?” Boy, you just got out of the fog of war into a mysterious bright world. You were saved from death by a woman in a strange robe, and everything you squeezed out of yourself “where am I?” It feels like you woke up after drinking in an unfamiliar place, rather than experiencing a fantastic and incredible event in your life. And that is a question for the writers. The same Diana portraying the naivety of a “pure child” sometimes looks simply unreasonable, although the image of a fighter for justice and equality was clearly conceived. But thanks to the writers’ “effort” most of the film Diana looks like a stupid, but incredibly gifted child who can multiply six-digit numbers in his mind, but at the same time asks why the sky is blue.
It is impossible to ignore another point. The filmmakers clearly decided not to bother with the release of heroes from difficult situations. Let me give you an example of a non-spoiler scene. Diana needs to get to the ball. It is allowed only through the main gate, and only by invitation. One lady who is tired of standing in line in her carriage and obviously really wants to go to the toilet decides to leave the carriage and go to the nearest trees (although it seems to me that a noble lady who was invited to a very important event would rather let her bladder burst than in front of dozens of other noble gentlemen retire into the bushes, but not the essence). This lady, a tall blonde in a chic blue dress under the canopy of trees, meets Diana, who looks at her and measures her height. The scene is humorous and can cause a smile. The next time we see Diana, she is already in the castle. That is, you understand that neither the page, nor the security, in general, none of the dozens of people present at the checkpoint was embarrassed that a blonde went into the bushes, and a brunette completely unlike her returned. And that's where the movie is built. Heroes come out of difficult situations not through some incredible or at least unpredictable decisions, or at least sudden rescues, but through editing! You get it. A mighty Hollywood montage! It would be better if the eagles came for her.
And the final battle. The action is interrupted by the pathos and banal phrases of the antagonist, but he would rather remain silent. By the way, when he appears in the frame, you will recognize him, although the personality is presented to us from the other side. Another banal, in the spirit of the kindest character turns out to be a villain. How unexpected. And it's not a spoiler! After all, if you have watched more than 5 blockbusters in your life, you will understand everything yourself.
In general, the film turned out evener than previous DS films, but absolutely gray. What about the movie that makes it special? The main character of the superhero movie and... All. But, oh great Zeus, 8 on IMDb? All feminists and their supporters put 10 out of 10. But is this film a masterpiece of the Nolan trilogy? Or even the best Marvel projects? Of course, a strong-willed female character who looks both strong and feminine at the same time is cool! But because of this alone, it is absolutely impossible to ignore the terrible scenario, predictable dialogue and editing rescues. After all, going to such films, praising such films, we show that we do not care about the quality of the script, dialogue, elaboration of the film. Couldn't it have been much better? Or not.
P.S. There was a guy sitting on my left and a girl on my right, both a little older than me. During one of the heartfelt scenes of the film, when silence hung over the hall, there was a snoring that swept like thunder. It was my neighbor on the left. And that was the most fun part of the movie. But during the climax, my roommate on the left began to wipe the tears rolling down her face. And so I, between bored and impressed audiences, realized that I was where I felt. Between boredom and delight. Is the truth somewhere in the middle?

I won’t say that I was really excited, but the viewing experience remained normal. I have long heard about the creation of 'Wonder Woman' and therefore added the tape to the list of expected, but first saw this heroine in the animated series ' Justice League' in his time.
Features. I really liked the beginning of the picture, i.e. the very formation of Diana as a warrior from the island of Themiscira. The world of the Amazons turned out to be attractive, especially their slow-motion action. The world of war is presented in dark tones, as it should be. Negative characters are not particularly impressed, look ambiguous, but still positive components much more.
Acting. Gal Gadot perfectly performed the image of Wonder Woman, clearly demonstrating her strengths and beliefs, gradually realizing that evil can manifest in various forms. Chris Pine looks decent surrounded by the main character, playing the role of a cunning British intelligence officer. Characters of the second plan are also good, they look convincing.
'Wonder Woman' is a brilliant, fantastic blockbuster from the 2017 DC (Detective Comics) universe. Overall, I’m happy that the film was created and made as a standalone superheroine story. The film perfectly combines a cheerful atmosphere, quite appropriate humor, good staging of fights and action, all that makes it successful.
Wonder Woman in the guise of Gal Gadot appeared before us in the blockbuster Zack Snyder & #39; Batman v Superman' and even then everyone knew that this lady would not leave the screens so easily. Attractive, combative, deadly girl every time caught the eyes of the audience, because against the background of a little boring male characters, she had a bright charisma, which well just had to manifest itself in a single film. And it finally happened!
Patty Jenkins describes what happened to Wonder Woman, or Diana, years before she visited Gotham and Metropolis. We see in what environment the future heroine grew up, what was demanded of her and what was sought from her becoming a fearless warrior. But she was not going to remain a hostage of her native walls, and as soon as there was a chance to see what was spread over the horizon, Diana without thinking twice set out on the road to bring with her justice.
Gal Gadot is magnificent in the image of Wonder Woman. It’s the core of what past DC films have lacked. Being a skilled warrior and not indifferent girl, she was able to become what she wanted to be from a young age, when she was laughed at by her more active and powerful relatives. Diana came to people and now she has big things to do.
There is no doubt that 'Wonder Woman' will be on the big screen. Gal Gadot is perfect for the image and we will see her again in the case, because who, like her, is able to bring a critical balance to the Justice League and prove that the weaker sex is definitely not her!

From the first minute, I felt a lot of manipulation. The film had just begun and I was almost crying.
After a clash of Amazon special forces with the Germans, the plot calms down. We see a lot of good jokes about gender. All goes well until Diana's first encounter with the military.
Again tears
So I want to cry again (from overflowing feelings), but I restrain myself. Then the plot normalizes again and I hope to wait for the denouement.
Final
But here comes Ares and ruins everything. He was too comical for the fearsome god of war, look at his monologues. It felt like a movie was going on for a 3-year-old. Immediately added pathos and I fell into precipitation.
What you don't like?
Diana's naivety is part of the character, but I think it's overdone. It's like alcohol, in moderation. Diana's aggression is too pretentious. Wonder Woman seemed more natural to me.
Output
I remember the last Disney movies (Batman v Super and Suicide Squad). I knew they were a Hollywood product. No art to say that. Simply adjusting the product to the market with merciless exploitation of the emotions of the viewer.
I am neither a socialist nor an art house fan. The money invested in the film should pay off. But the same Nolan had a commercially successful trilogy and really cool. Marvel movies are profitable and interesting. They're not perfect, but they don't have a rough job where 40 percent of the time in the movie is trying to squeeze a tear out of you.
My faith in the DC Cinematic Universe was finally broken. I’ll be watching the Justice League sequel to Wonder Woman, Aquaman... but without hope. Curious though.
In fact, even though I was waiting for the film, I had the feeling that it could come out just average, passing or worse. Yes, the trailers were good, but something told me the movie might not work.
But this did not happen, because the picture came out really decent.
The story of Diana’s growing up and her development in the world is well and interesting. The film has a strong drama and an emotional component that stick to the chic music of Rupert Gregson-Williams, excellent directing and great actors (especially Gal Gadot and Chris Pine incredibly organically fit the film and coolly played, and their duet is pleasant to watch and worry!) And what action here, which, yes, sometimes seems somewhat clumsy, sometimes sums up the visual, because the budget of the film is not so big, but in general it looks very cheerful (especially combat scenes!) I also liked the main villain Ares, which is quite unusual here, but it is interesting and I liked it. And especially well in the film depicts the horrors of war, for which Patty Jenkins would like to say a special thank you, because she was able to convey the cruelty, gravity and uselessness of this hell, in General, not having on hands the rating of 18+.
I won’t say the movie is the easiest to watch. All 2 hours and 20 minutes feel good, but damn it was really 2 hours and 20 minutes of a decent movie. I would advise everyone to watch this movie in the cinema!
I am very glad that despite the criticism (mostly undeserved) and the difficulties in implementation, the expanded DC Cinematic Universe is still unwinding and gaining momentum!

Cameo Wonder Woman in 'Batman v Superman' considered one of the few pluses (although I think the film is generally not bad), and here’s the world’s most popular superheroine finally made it to the big screen in her first solo film.
Set in Paris, Diana (Gal Gadot), aka Wonder Woman, receives an old photo seen in Batman v Superman, which launches the viewer into her memories of life and the origins of our superheroine. As a child on the island of Themyscira, Diana is raised and protected by her mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielson), a woman who knows what war is and the pain of loss from her. She tells the young princess the story of how Zeus created humanity to be all lived in love and harmony, but the jealous god Ares instead led them to war and that Amazon women needed to protect people from Ares' wrath and stop the violence. However, Diana has an irresistible desire to train and protect people from Ares in his next parish. Despite the fact that her mother forbade it, Diana begins training with her aunt, General Antiope (Robin Wright), but after a while still gets permission from her mother to unleash Diana's full potential as a warrior. During the sparring match, we see that Diana has great power, and this happens simultaneously with the sudden arrival of military spy Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who, literally crashing into Diana's world, brings news of a long and terrible world war. Convinced that Ares is back to unleash his wrath on humanity again, Diana promises to accompany Steve to the war to kill God and restore peace and tranquility. Upon arriving in London, it becomes clear that things are not as simple as Diana imagined. She slowly begins to realize that perhaps Ares is not the only one responsible for the wars on Earth and humanity does not deserve her protection.
' Wonder Woman' offers a more nuanced understanding of what it means to be a hero than other DCEU films. Against the backdrop of World War I, the film explores good and evil. Instead of positioning the presence of evil as an innate quality that cannot be suppressed, and goodness as unsullied and completely pure, thematic discourse ' The Wonder of Woman' suggests that humanity is a clash of these two qualities. There is a chance that both good and evil will sprout under the right conditions or situations. In summary, the picture says that all violence - whether epistemic or physical - occurs as part of life, whether your intentions behind your actions are pure or not, the responsibility lies with the one who causes the pain.
Of course, ' Wonder Woman' could not and did not touch on feminism, but it is presented here, in most moments, in a humorous way and they do not poke you in the face. Diana amusingly tries on dresses and asks: ' And how do women fight this?' or her line about slavery. Steve's suffragette (Lucy Davis) is immediately thrilled with Diana. In a more serious way, this is manifested when Diana interrupts men always and everywhere, when she does not agree with this or that male decision.
As for the cast, I would like to note that Gal Gadot not only perfectly coped with his role, which is ideal for, but it is simply pleasant to watch all 2 hours of the film. They have great chemistry with Chris Pine, which is also good for the picture. Supporting actors are not annoying and look good. David Thewlis is what I basically took the ball from the picture, he is absolutely not suitable for his role.
On the technical side, everything is also good, I really liked both the color correction in the film and the special effects (except for the last 20 minutes). For the scene where Diana walks through the battlefield and beats off bullets, a separate praise to the director and crew who worked on the film. We can also note the good work of the costumers and a great soundtrack, which we have already heard in ' Batman v Superman'.
From beginning to end 'Wonder Woman' - the story of the formation of a superheroine who is thoughtful and permeated with exciting action and impressive battles. This is a film that captures your attention, reflects, and most importantly, introduces a new and powerful hero to the younger generation.
I went to the film with the expectation of seeing a good movie about this character, as I really liked her in the wretched spectacle ' BPS'. I prayed Warner Bros. wouldn’t ruin this movie, so what happened?
I'll tell you. . .
'Wonder Woman'
After leaving, I felt my whole body pierced by a keen sense of perplexity. I was perplexed that the Worners had finally made a DC movie, which I was so excited about that I was getting goose bumps from the epic.
People, seriously, after three movies they did it!
In 'Wonder Woman' there is no dull, tasteless, endless and unreasonable pathos, as in 'BPS'. He, of course, is present there, but in the amount in which you need, and when it manifests itself, you get pleasure, and not the desire to punch facepalm, as in the film about the confrontation of two stupid clowns in cloaks.
In 'Wonder Woman' there is no to the marasmus of idiotic scripted nonsense, as in 'OS'** and 'BPS'. Everything that happens in the film is logical and understandable. Questions arise only from the actions of the heroine herself in society and in war, but everything can be explained, because by the lore, which everyone knows, she was abstracted from the human world, so she does many very stupid things, but it is even amusing. The motivation of the villains is reinforced and explained, though not particularly convincing, but explained (this is not that Lex Luthor wanted to arson all of humanity just because 'I want everything').
In 'Wonder Woman' there's humor! And I was really laughing. There are so many funny and funny moments that dilute the atmosphere of war, suffering and constant anxiety that lives in the hearts of people. The film really immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of war, which allows you to feel all its burden for humanity.
Gal Gadot is just gorgeous, beautiful, delightful and the like! Beautiful appearance and cute face emphasize the femininity of a very militant and strong character, like Wonder Woman. She plays well, but there are moments where she doesn’t play, but it’s a matter of taste and looks. Overall, I am happy with her performance.
In 'Wonder Woman' cool action, which is directly fascinating. There are also unreal moments that shudder when the main character in slow-mo throws enemies under the fantastic theme of Wonder Woman Hanz Zimmer.
The characters are all remembered. These are not blanks from OS', but real people who somehow reveal themselves as the plot develops.
Wonder Woman has become one of my favorite superhero characters and I want to see her on screen more. Much more. She's cool. And Gal Gadot continues to be the main star of my dreams.
Great movie! I advise everyone to go.
The last time I wrote such a long review, oddly enough, was the previous DC movie Batman v Superman. If earlier, when choosing a film, I relied more on the percentage of positive reviews of critics, now I see more and more that it is nothing more than a business. Critics completely destroyed both BPS and Suicide Squad, but suddenly began to praise Wonder Woman. What did critics get from Wonder Woman that previous films didn’t? Nothing. Drama stretched by the ears, tiring action, empty but pompous dialogue, secondary characters like mobile props; all this we have seen. The only difference was “Suicide Squad”, it was just a pop meaningless g*, there are even more decent words to find. I have no hope for any future DC movies. This is not even an entertaining movie. These movies are like an attraction where you threw up and you regretted going at all.
But there should be advantages to this film, because the audience also liked it more than the previous ones.
1) The main character is a woman, a miracle woman, behind whom men hid (the jubilation of feminists can already be heard in the distance). Even everyone’s favorite “constitution of women” here seems to have never been. The neckline of the Wonder Woman, like all Amazons, was closed, although in the comics this is almost her main advantage, well, not counting her strength and invulnerability.
(2) “Animated comic book”. Each frame looks like a comic book drawing, bright and glossy. When watching, there is no doubt that this is not real. What is not a fight is slowo, what is not a dialogue, then the characters do not move until you finish reading the whole text in the cloud above their head. Is this about the movie or the comic? However, what was missing is probably only huge letters on the screen in the style 'SMASH!!! "BOOM!" "BANG!!!!"
(3) Gal Gadot. While women praise the character of the film, men praise her actress. Student, Komsomol, athlete, boy-baba with innocent eyes. I was somehow neutral towards her, there was nothing to play there, and she already knows how to pose for the camera, a model, like no other.
Which I liked personally. Just a few small details.
1) The soundtrack, and more specifically Wonder Woman theme, a powerful and memorable melody gives at least a small boost of energy.
2 Chris Pine, his character is probably the most lively of all.
(3) The way Wonder Woman managed to hide her battle suit under a thin silk dress, let Superman and Batman learn.
The critically acclaimed hit directed by Patty Jenkins hit the big screens. And after watching, I wanted to see if he was really worthy of all his praise.
The fourth film of the DC Extended Cinematic Universe, from the very first seconds begins to please the eye with an animated screensaver, as in the Marvel films. This looks nostalgic for those who have watched the animated series ' Justice League' and certainly hints at the fact that they have no less characters than their direct competitors. And while seeing even a small part of them on the big screen now seems like a pipe dream, the optimism of studio bosses is definitely encouraging. The parody of Marvel did not end there, because if not a pure copy of the First Avenger (which I liked more than Wonder Woman), then analogies can be drawn for sure. Moreover, this is also the story of Rapunzel. Only the adventures of our black-haired Princess do not cause affection as in the story of the same name, because the naivety of the main character manifests itself in the real, cruel world, and not in the fictional thirtieth kingdom.
But what can you really thank the movie for? It's primarily his-- freshness. Don’t get it wrong, I’m not talking about Rotten Tomatoes, but about the freshness that the film brought to the DC Cinematic Universe. The gloom of their films here was diluted with the bright colors of Themyscira. The subsequent tonality was justified by the First World War era. This effect ' freshness' is also achieved due to the fact that this is the first adaptation of this character, in contrast to several reboots of her ' colleague' Superman and Batman. This film presents us with a heroine whose motivation to be good is her upbringing. She's just the kind of character who has to overcome the darkness of this world in Ares. And the fact that the main character in the face of beauty Gal Gadot, is ready to save everyone, despite its fragile appearance, is impressive. However, this only adds to Wonder Woman’s confusion when she realizes that some people are evil simply because they are evil, not because of the influence of the same War God. Her reluctance to save tens of thousands of people caused a storm of indignation, and there is not enough chamomile tea in the world to calm me down.
Continuing the topic of shortcomings, I cannot but note the main disadvantage, namely the merged final fight. It was not dynamic, boring, monotonous. About the appearance of Ares after his transformation, I generally remain silent. The mustache sticking out from under my helmet will really come to me in nightmares. Couldn't he have been made faceless at all? I think it would be more intimidating. But at the same time, the line of Captain Steve Trevor pleased, who played a significant role both in the formation of Wonder Woman as a hero and in the finale of the picture. Special thanks would like to express Said Tagmaoui, because his character is the only humorous character in the film, which he embodied with a spark. What can not say about absolutely unnecessary grief-sniper Charlie performed by Ewan Bremner (he irritated wildly, singing instead could and simple radio). The good work of the costumers and tolerable special effects can also be attributed to the pluses, as well as the title musical theme, which was first heard in Batman v Superman.
As a result, the film can be associated with Zebra. He has everything good and bad that can be removed. Potentially bright antagonist is implemented extremely poorly. The rich mythology of a new character for the big screen is fascinating, but the weak link is all the same characters. Caste is the strength of the film. Diana isn't just not shy about killing a villain, she wants to, and that's cool, because we've never seen one before. Zeus's daughter, Miss Israel, 2004. But the ridiculous ending, where the enemies hug against the background of dawn - as if too much. The high-quality love line is diluted with only three action scenes, of which only the second is remembered. The film is interesting and must-see, given the dynamically developing DC Cinematic Universe, but I did not have much desire to review it. For me, it’s only the 3rd out of 4 movie in the universe (the worst still is Suicide Squad). In connection with the above
Beautiful Diana is not beautiful, and some Pinocchio is wooden.
Total disappointment. Too tasteless, noisy, fussy. High-quality special effects? No, you haven't. Graphics like in the shooter of the late 90s. Where is the scope and scale of superhero movies? Dull, gloomy, boring and somehow "place-like." Why are heroes transferred from the fairytale island to the real war of 1945? How long can you go on the subject of war and war villains? Unorthodox, unoriginal, and simply tired. Yes, the character appeared during the war, but there are many variations to beat the plot without World War II. Or try to make the film bright and interesting, at least as "Heavenly Captain and the World of the Future" (2004). The battles are unforgettable and very modest in scale. The roles of some characters are completely unclear and undisclosed, why were they needed? The masked villain flashed without leaving a trace. Although, for the sake of justice, the actress coped with the role better than Diana. A sniper who can't shoot can sing. Indian. Perhaps they are the original heroes of the comics about Wonder Woman, have not read. I didn’t understand the meaning of the story.
The performance of almost all actors seemed unnatural and did not arouse sympathy or even interest. The jokes are flat and unfunny. In every sentence Diana sounds either stupid naivety, or the same pathos. In my opinion, the actress did not cope with the role completely. Where are the feelings, passions, heat of emotions? I remember Jolie in any role, at least Lara Croft with her rich facial expressions. Diana has the same expression of bewilderment throughout the film on her not-beautiful face. As a child, Diana is a beautiful actress. You do not believe in Him, and you do not believe in Him. Another moment, as an oriental woman is an Amazon, for me, dissonance, after all, ancient Greece, must be a different type. I probably don’t like the actress in a particular role. Robin Wright at 51 is a lot more interesting. The plot is primitive in some places, and mostly predictable, without fantasy (!), without intrigue and without pleasant surprises. For example, since the appearance of the hero in the film, it is clear who is God Ares. The cast, a separate theme. David Thewlis in his role is like a joke. Not funny again.
By the way, where and what is feminism? “How dare a woman come in here?” This is for a secret military council, for a minute! Or when the heroine, thanks to her armor and superpowers, saved and furnished her companions a couple of times? Hmm.
Even the 4 points I gave was a lot for this creation.
Greetings, everyone! Please forgive me for not writing earlier.
Before us is another creation of the studio, which gave us a film with the most incomprehensible plot of recent years, a film that was difficult to watch until the end - "Batman v Superman" .
In the case of “Wonder Woman”, the filmmakers did not go far, but decided to resort to an interesting move, which I hope did not accidentally turn out in the film “Get Out”. The move is to throw all Internet resources, including "Kinopoisk", exclusively positive reviews about the film. Fortunately, in the network of such goodness, which provides services to provide you with the comments you need, full.
About the movie. Before us is the story of a naive by fate girl (though it is not quite clear how she grew up: year for a century or more), who came to our world during the First World War, who believes that if you kill the god of war, all the misfortunes of people will stop. And I would like it to be wrong, and the outcome of the whole story would be presented to us as a victory over a metaphorical god. Ah no, God was presented, by analogy with the aforementioned pathetic film, as a template boss.
I’m not going to tell everyone not to watch this movie, because it’s hard to fight the herd instinct anyway. In addition, we were given so many positive reviews about the film that it is difficult to even imagine that this film may not be perfect. I'll just give my impression of what I saw.
"Wonder Woman" is a film with a fairly simple story (sometimes it is not bad). The story, the intrigue of which, unfortunately, is lost by the middle of the film and thereby fades interest and becomes boring! I’m not even talking about jokes about puberty and other topics, because without this slag in modern films, designed for an audience of 14-24 years in any way, about a bunch of kinogaps that are visible to the naked eye, about a stupid and unremarkable script, which worked as many as four people, what they only did.
In general, who values their time and wants interesting and thoughtful stories from films, I don't recommend this movie! And for the generation "ay" (not intelligence, but just ay) in which one eye looks at the screen, and the other in the social network in the smartphone - will come down, look.
It's over between us! Pack your bows, sister! (Duck Dodgers)
One day, on the island of the Amazon women’s community, a man from the outside world enters, disturbing their serene peace. Amazons react acutely to this event, they catch the “outsider” and begin to find out the circumstances. During the interrogation, they learn that a terrible war is underway in the outside world, taking the lives of the innocent and indirectly threatening the security of their island.
The main character, Diana, hearing about the war, volunteered to help and recover in the heat, together with a newly arrived stranger. Just because she wants to help and how she thinks she knows who is to blame. Diana becomes unbearable to feel how innocent people suffer and die, and evil reigns with impunity. Diana craves justice, she listens to her warm heart and tries to help at all costs.
This motivation is offered by the owners of the copyright of the film “Wonder Woman”. But what do we really see?
And from the movie we see that the girl (Diana) has a huge hole in her soul. She lives hard on the island. The sword sisters are biased against her, she is the daughter of their queen, they have orders to the extra girl not to talk, to train hardest, how to make friends? Her mother is not sincere with her and hides her origin, lies to her about who she is. And when Diana realizes she's different, no one gives her the answers. She feels like an outcast, a loner. The only entertainment on the island is combat-physical preparation for a fight that will never happen. Some doubt the necessity of training and lifestyle, but their "Queen" dogmatically tells to cast doubt. Why? Because! That's enough questions! From all these events and moods, Diana is bored. She satisfies her hunger by reading books about the outside world, but one day the books run out and no one knows what is happening in the present. This is all really sad.
What about saving people from war? But she never met them in life, only from books, from filtered conversations. People for her are characters, images that have become her friends. They were sincere in their stories and did not lie to her like the Amazons. And when the moment of a man’s appearance from the outside world and news of the war comes, Diana says between the lines to the man, “Take me out of this quiet hell.” Trying to forget and withdraw from the island, our heroine focuses on the war, on a particular villain. It's a chance to escape here. Somewhere inside she knows that she will not return to the island and will not be as before, she is ready to take any risk. Not as rosy as they tried to convince us, huh? You and I have seen everything.
It's just as sad that after 11 years of creating the project, the result is what we see. You can’t ignore the fact that 6 to 8 writers left the project because of creative differences. What are the copyright owners doing so hard to protect? This is a mystery, even if you look closer.
Scenario. Without spoilers, we'll be walking around.
Let's start with the opposing heroine. The antagonists turned cardboard. What we know about them, we don’t need to know. In their place will fit another similar “villain”. This is boring and not interesting, their actions only indirectly develop the plot going on the rails. How they affect the main character - no, or just like the bandits in the back door, only on a different scale. The names and size of the damage change. And some “villains” are so stupid that they directly give the heroine information that can definitely harm them.
The motivation of the heroes leaves questions. Why Diana needs this, we sort of figured it out. It is not clear why this is necessary for the American pilot, such an open air motivation, understand how you want. Because of the girl? Out of curiosity? Or is he a slave? And the other guys? Have you suddenly become altruistic patriots? Or they just had to be on the "story rails."
The logic of the ongoing battles of the First World War is off the scale (shooting, military positions, tactics) there are simply ridiculous situations you will see them yourself.
What's the point of history and morality? Probably go ahead, without a plan, in the hope of finding what you want, and there, how lucky!
But what if there is no morality in it? said Alice *and fell down a rabbit hole * Lewis Carroll. Alice in Wonderland
Directing Patty Jenkins in this film is not unambiguous, somewhere good, somewhere weak, but in general – did not like. Let’s talk about some things.
A novel or a creep on a novel, it turned out not bad. Easy, unobtrusive, sometimes funny, sometimes cute and touching. And given the allocated small screen time, it was capacious and competent for this genre. As a spectator, you will feel some sparks between the characters.
A lot of time is devoted to cardboard antagonists. Bad. The more nasty things they do, the better Diana looks. So what? This is a very dubious effect, the film has something to tell besides single shots. Patty Jenkins has experience in thrillers, it’s an effective technique there, but here.
Strange thing with Diana's abilities, and that's very strange. At the beginning of the film, Diana learned to climb stone walls, then she suddenly lost her skills and needs to be thrown, and then she jumps to the height of bird flight. Or it may suddenly reflect “superpowers.” It seems that Diana does not control herself, and the director does it for the sake of effect. Who looks far-fetched. Wonder Woman’s abilities are a mystery that cannot be explained. It's really a miracle ability. What is most disturbing is that Diana is not emotionally involved! This jumped on the roof: “OK”, failed to jump: “OK, it happens, next time it will work!” The main thing is not to think what is happening to me and everything will be fine.
Now, all the girls are envious, when walls collapse and even bombs explode, Diana's hairstyle does not deteriorate, moreover, there is not a speck of dust! It is perfect and repels dust and dirt!! Now I know what this picture is about, it's about Wonder Woman! You know? About Wonder Woman.
Who is the film for? Hard to say. I watched it in the cinema, a girl of 6-9 years was sitting behind me, she was worried about the heroine, cried and screamed with joy with her, but I did not understand the 10 minute jokes (very subtle) about sex and poop. I didn't know about the war either. Those over the age of 25-35 sometimes giggled at the unexpected displays of Diana's abilities. It's like being an inspector-gadget who always had a solution with him. Only there it is necessary for humor, and here it is to attract by the ears.
I don’t recommend watching, it’s better to review “Man of Steel” – Snyder or “The Dark Knight” – Nolan. And if you want a girl with a strong spirit, able to fight on an equal footing with men - "Mulan" from Disney is your choice!

Favorite movies should be watched again and again, with each new time noticing what I did not notice earlier (interior details, secondary characters, new meanings).
Gal Gadot is not only the most beautiful woman, but also a great actor.
At the beginning of the film, we meet Diana – a naive and kind girl, but then we see Diana who comes out of the trench, Diana who knows the world of people, love, the loss of a loved one. And Gal Gadot showed it all.
There was a lot of green background, the editing had to be a lot of presentation. And then Gal Gadot coped.
In the final battle, I am on Ares’ side, but Diana, who has just lost a loved one, convinces me that people are better, they should be given a chance.
The battle on the screen turns into a battle in the hearts.
The battle between the opinion “people are like this” and “people are better”
Diana continued to fight for people, kept faith in love.
Since the film is about Diana, the other characters were not prescribed. We don't know their biography. They were just the background to help reveal the main character.
The film turned out bright and colorful, the colors are very thought out.
At the beginning, the contrast between Timesquira and London, and at the end between a gray, dirty war, a dark battle with bright flashes of fire and dawn.
Lots of good, motivating messages, topics, questions
What matters is what you believe.
You can sit and do nothing or try to do anything.
Question: Are people like this or are they better?
People choose between good and evil. Even if a villain has come to power, a person can choose to carry out criminal orders or remain a person.
War is indeed the engine of human progress. In the process of preparing for war, people create weapons, along the way developing other technologies.
There is no Ares or villain who makes people do evil.
The choice will always be up to the person.
Evil is in people, but also great love. That's what Diana's fighting for. Calls to fight.
The fraternization of yesterday’s enemies was very touching.
(Many people consciously commit crimes during genocide or war.)
What did Diana do during World War II? Did she not take part in the war when she was disappointed in people?

Despite previous DC films, Wonder Woman far surpasses Suicide Squad, at least in script.
In my opinion, despite the beautiful Gal Gadot, her acting was at a very low level. I understand, of course, that in the film she finds herself in a new world for her, but you can’t always frown and stay with a stone face, though sometimes smiling.
It was boring to watch her play for 2 hours. Like the plot, the beginning was happy, but the film is too long.
And the last downside is the graphics. It's too much. Watching the movie in the cinema, my eyes were cut from sometimes fuzzy and sometimes too unrealistic picture.
However, one of the advantages can be noted scenes of fights. I found them exciting and very strong. It is impossible not to note the appearance of Gal Gadot, because it was still pleasant to look at her, at least for this reason.
For me, this is a one-time movie, but it is worth praising those who worked on this film, as it is better than previous DC films.
You can see the effort for which I put the film:
The DC comic book universe continues to expand. Many solo films, such as 'Aquaman', 'Flash', 'Cyborg', 'Green Lantern' etc., are yet to be seen. As they say, we hold our fists. Now, in the glorious 2017, we got, as it seems to me so far, that the best film DS - ' Miracle is a woman'. In BPS and OS, we will not hide a sin, these films are very controversial and to a large extent the scales are leaning towards ' weak', i.e. these films are weak. References instead of character development, vivid images, but almost complete lack of plot and again, the same development of characters. I’m glad the Warner Bros bosses finally understood this and hired a smart director to fix it.
What I liked about the film was the character development. In my opinion, there is not a single character in the film that is empty, weak, or for a tick. Miracle - the woman performed by Gal Gadot is magnificent. From the beginning, we see what Diana believes, what she aspires to be, what she wants to be. We see her adapting to the knowledge she has accumulated on an Amazon island in a bustling city. It learns about culture, customs, forms the first impression of people. And in the future, it can be traced her change of worldview regarding people. It is presented so well and correctly that I want to watch the film more than once.
The pilot performed by Chris Pine turned out to be a confident character in terms of the script. He is intelligent, purposeful and charismatic. The actions of this, as well as the actions of his comrades, lend themselves to logic, they are thought out from the point of view of the script and do not cause rejection, like the actions of most characters from Suicide Squad. Impressed the antagonist of the picture, except for excessive and clichéd pathos in one place. I like the fact that the film asks questions and tries to answer them. The film asks questions about good and evil in human nature, about whether people are bloodthirsty in themselves or all the succession of any circumstances leads to their bloodthirsty, about morality and duty. At the same time in place of the film and humor. Jokes in the right places, in my opinion, are well written and well served. Of the drawbacks, in my opinion, I note the director’s drawback in visualizing the field that protects and hides the island of the Amazons from the rest of the world. It is too weak to do its job. Ships without any obstacles can safely get to this wonderful island. And probably a cliché with the villain at the end.
The result – the film turned out to be excellent, great script, excellent direction, attractive characters, humor, philosophy, all these points in the film are available. I’m excited that DC has finally made a film that’s 100 percent as good as Marvel movies, even better than many.

'We can do it' and they did! Despite a couple of previous failures that I blame entirely on Warner Bros. With their production staff of 10 people or more for 1 film. While everyone was busy interfering with Snyder and Eyre’s work, Patty Jenkins and her team could quietly work on a comic book adaptation about heroin that fits us as a great-grandmother.
On the remote and hidden island of Themyscira live the Amazons, according to legend, created by Zeus to help people stop the bloody wars inspired by the god Ares. Ares, in turn, managed to kill all the gods except Zeus and the latter sent him a thunderous knockout to rest somewhere on earth among mortals. Diana, the princess of the Amazons, believes in the destiny of their people – victory over the god of war. She has been training since early childhood, despite her mother’s objections, and is waiting for the very time when she and her sisters will be able to sow world peace with the help of the killer blade of the gods. And that day is coming. Near the island crashed plane with a British pilot on board. Diana rescues the pilot and learns from him that there has been a bloody war in the outside world for several years. Taking this news as a sign from above, Wonder Woman goes with the pilot to the front of the 1st World War. Her plan is quite simple - to find Ares, the culprit of these events and destroy. Then, of course, peace, love, friendship, gum. Unlike her fellow tribesmen, Diana can’t stay on the island without paying attention to the deaths of millions of people.
After the bar set by Nolan in gloomy-realistic tones, DC decided to turn off the track of this theme and standards to which it is difficult to reach and now go into the magical world of frank fantasies.
Why did the epic tale shoot so well? There are several reasons. Excellent production, costumes, decoration and a successful choice of lead actress. The script is well written and linear. Simple, of course, but this is a picture based on a comic book about a heroine woven from Greek mythology and the authors’ rich imagination. That is why it is unnecessary.
Many compare Patty Jenkins’s work to an act of feminism in cinema. Although it would seem that we have the great Catherine Bigelow and Lexi Alexander, who shot one of the most ' male ' films and at worst Sofia Coppola and many others. Apparently, the feminist label stuck for the most part due to the pre-premier display only for the fair sex, outraged the sensitive geek community. But if we talk about feminism in this tape, the viewer will not notice its presence, because it is ten times more adequate than the antics of some feminist organizations, proud of any act of humiliation of the male half in absolutely any situation. Wonder Woman is strong here, but also feminine. In some places it is childish, which is extremely affectionate and creates a great ground for humor. Diana is the Keeper of Peace, convinced in the absence of bad people that the truth does not prevent her from swordshooting those who she believes are doing evil through the fault of the god of war. And Gal Gadot, who knows firsthand about the concept of a “strong woman” & #39, is ideally suited for this role despite constant speculation about the fitness for the image of her forms. Well, sorry, huge breasts and fillet parts were an integral part of the sexist '70s. It’s a different time and I hope it’s a different time.
There is little action here, but it will appeal to everyone - the quality and photogenic low-mo please the eye on a strong five.
The antagonist, suddenly appearing through an unexpected plot twist, although it occupies a small fraction of screen time, saturates every minute allotted to him with the spirit of a gloomy epic and leaves behind a rather strong impression.
+: Production, work of artists and costumers, acting, action, picture and camera work.
-: In some places there are excesses in pathos and philosophy - a phenomenon inherent in the genre, but you can survive if you remember that this is an artistic work on a fabulous motif.

It’s weird, it’s sad, it’s annoying, but it’s not what was expected.
The session left an incomprehensible sense of incompleteness, mixed impressions, and a small but still palpable residue of disappointment. But everything in order.
The beginning is flawless, and that's for sure. Everything is so beautiful, new, evokes the plots of peplums, it seems that the plot is about to drag us to the foot of Olympus or to the depths of Tartarus. Epic, striking, filled with the spirit of antiquity, almost biblical paintings with the participation of gods and people give the viewer a “charge” of admiration, prepare us for something grandiose, and it works.
But something is wrong.
Begin pathetic remarks about some “special weapons of mass destruction”, and too intrusive, and these clichéd phrases and backstory becomes simply boring to sleep. We know, saw, passages, there is a reception on the scrap, and it is universal, therefore super-secret, although the viewer immediately understands what is being talked about.
Well, it's done well and organically.
Further replicas - after the actual meeting of Diana and Steve - with geometric progression become bored, "banal", in places go into some childish babble and, the general leitmotif of which is "Diana, no!" - Diana, yes!
Even further, closer to the middle, there is a panicky feeling that the film has dragged on. The plot for a long time, almost phlegmatically flows to the essence, the root of evil, that is, the (not)main antagonist is clichéd much more than he should. Strangely, surprisingly funny look villainous grins, plans, all the time does not leave the feeling of "copying", the inappropriateness of evil, it in this picture does not frighten, does not even cause disgust even one iota. (Maybe you shouldn't?)
The general message of the tape seemed to be molded, glued together from old, good ideas a la the confrontation of absolute evil and the retribution due to it, well, logical, but... That's it? Sometimes, in children's fairy tales, everything is somehow more diluted with complex ambiguous torments, more contradictory feelings.
The main antagonism of Diana and Ares is laid down as some idea, the basis for creating at least some backstory of Diana, and in general it makes us understand that this woman is really able to work miracles at the level of the gods (and this is shown skillfully, leisurely, thoroughly ... but by the time of the denouement, you already get tired of waiting).
Of the unambiguous advantages, it is necessary to single out an indisputably new and beautiful example of a strong woman, no, a woman. I was pleased that the main character is really feminine, feminine, patient, self-confident, she has an ocean of inner strength and harmony, sincere compassion. She is educated, not devoid of a sense of humor, but most importantly - obsessed with the idea of fighting, as they say, for good and justice.
Of the obvious downsides... Unfortunately, acting. Yeah, yeah.
As outrageous as it sounds, Gal Gadot played too far from perfect, so much so that it is noticeable and even offensive. Again, it feels like something is missing. Emotions are manifested in the range of “calm joy – moderate anger – outright bewilderment”, and only at the very end the actress reveals herself and gives out more vivid feelings. Throughout the entire film, Chris Pine will not stop getting out of his way, creating the image of a heroic spy, and this is of course fine, but the role of his character still somehow seems just an auxiliary element. He has a standard uncomplicated set of qualities necessary for an ordinary hero, but this does not go further. He is very generous and very brave.
What a dialogue. Comics, of course, is traditionally children's entertainment, but the films on them still make sense to be designed for a more adult, thinking audience. Too many gaps and boring attempts to joke / dilute the atmosphere of war, not crowned with success, and this too was too conspicuous.
Beautiful movie, but with a touch of boredom, unremarkable general idea. Just the story of Diana-Amazon Princess aka Diana Prince, who lived to the days of Justice League. It is noteworthy as an addition, a run before the same League. Not as good as I would like.
While the most famous canonical male characters in the DC Universe still have a long way to go with updated images, a strong female image will debut on big screens. Looking ahead, the creators quite competently coped with their task, giving the character Gal Gadot at the same time necessary superhero cinema pathos and self-irony. Since the events take place almost a hundred years ago – in the courtyard of 1918, Diana Themyscirian contrasts with the retro style of the First World War, not to mention our time. Although in the present, the heroine has already blended well with the modern world. In the film itself, there are a number of comedy scenes, some of which set the tone for the trailers before - hats, dresses, suffragettes wrestling, a sword and a shield on the streets of London. DC is gradually adopting the practice of colleagues in the ability to laugh at themselves.
After last year's small appearance among male colleagues, Diana needed her own story and Wonder-Woman is a full biopic. More than an action movie. We are shown the maturation and formation of the character, with a background for the future active participation in the common universe. Before watching the film, you should answer the question of whether you are interested in the character, indirectly - Greek mythology and biopics. This is a biographical superhero drama. And if the story of a girl who grew up in the Amazons of the Adriatic Sea and now goes to the front lines of the First World War raises doubts, expectations will be equally mixed.
In terms of the entourage of 1918 and war-torn Europe, the picture works out the money and expectations invested in it. Still a rare setting for a big movie gives due gloom, grayness and despondency. Although the authors have brought out stereotypes about the Great War, when you spend time inside the film – believe in the environment. Of course, famous historical figures were brought to the absurd and overkill, and although there is a full understanding that this is a feature film, the impression is ambiguous. On the one hand, the film puts pressure on the drama, showing the hardships of the civilian population, and on the other, turns the German General Ludendorff (who survived in reality until 1937) into a scripted clown.
Already on the trailers it was clear that the on-screen chemistry should be provided by the first man in the life of the main character. Chris Pine fit into the story quite harmoniously, despite the almost caricature of his character. As for the action, we can note several original ideas, which are more often related to the battle scenes of Diana herself. Otherwise, the ingenuity of the production is not different and closer to the end of the second hour in a certain way tires. As a denouement, one of the most unfortunate variants of events was also chosen, which finally lubricates pleasant moments from what was seen earlier. However, the benefit of Diana Themysquire was well held.
While the colorful Marvel in 2017 has already managed to spawn the second “Guardians of the Galaxy”, and in July threatens its viewer with another “Spider-Man”, shaking November with a baton of Torov (“Thor-3: Ragnarok”), DC Comics studio with its inherent smoothness puts another mosaic on the canvas of its universe, releasing a new tape about the bayonet of the Justice League – the Wonder Woman saga.
Although late, but I got to the cinema, and I still have something to add to the film.
The director is a woman, the main character is a girl, the setting is Themyscira, the capital of the Amazons. The method of reproduction is stucco from clay. This whole feminist paradise was desecrated by a real man only by the thirtieth minute. If you erase from memory thematic videos of the Brothers, then for the first time I see such an original move with the number of not heavily dressed girls in a film for wide distribution. The madness of brave producers can be awarded another ten or two points for the fact that the main managerial chair was entrusted to the director, who before “Miracle” in 2003 was marked only by a film on the verge of a foul “Monster”, about a prostitute-maniac. And the pause of 2003-2017 was filled with the shooting of not the most famous series.
If I knew the casting chief personally, I would thank the functionary with flowers with candy or a bottle of cognac (depending on gender) as a token of sincere gratitude for Gal Gadot, the lead actress. Despite the fact that Galya has already managed to light up in such films as “Knight of the Day” with Tom Cruise, “Fast and Furious 5.6.7” and even spoiled her karma “Three nines”, only in the reporting film her acting skills were successfully superimposed on natural data – and it turned out that rare case when the main character is pleasant to watch both boys (for appearance) and girls (for the image of a strong and independent woman without a cat).
The Marvel feature is colorful costumes of the heroes and the post-credits scene. The DC feature is noir and weaving fiction into historical events. According to the first component, “Woman” literally snatched the banner from the “Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad” – scenes of the battle of the gods and the birth of mankind are certainly far from the grotesque “Sin City”, but the color scheme of their universe is maintained as an artist prescribed. I still consider the Guardians of 2009 to be absolute in terms of the second filler, where no important world event was possible without the participation of the main characters - from the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
The original Wonder Woman from the comics fought the Germans in World War II. Our Galya went to hand-to-hand with the Germans in the First.
The image of the enemy is perhaps the film’s weakest point. Yes, the half-naked figurative Amazon stuffed herself with a lot of frags in the November mud of the Belgian forests of 1918, but the price of her victory is penniless if she is confronted with a fierce caricature of nechtura, that the whole film “rasskhafahett phott takh” (Remark with its “lost generation” would be offensive).
After all, the film was not conceived as a comedy, despite the misalliance of the characters of ancient mythology and London of the early twentieth century. Closer to the credits, the detective line on the search for the main villain is increasingly moving in it, and when he is, he raises a number of serious questions both of the universe and the imperfection of human nature, along with its craving for self-destruction. In this regard, out of respect for the enemy, it would be possible to humanize him a little.
But, by and large, this is the most significant puncture of the film. Everything else is mixed in it according to the proprietary recipes of DC Comics, which do not undergo sharp changes from tape to tape, being specified only in strokes and small details.
A woman stretches her Miracle for more than two hours, but under high-quality 3D they will pass unnoticed.

After the controversial Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, some critics and audiences buried the DC Cinematic Universe. So here's Wonder Woman. I was sure it would be like the above movies, maybe a little bit better. How surprised I was when the picture turned out better not a drop, but on the whole head.
So why is Wonder Woman dragging the DC Cinematic Universe? Because there's no marvel clutter here. Some clichés from the genre of superheroics certainly remained, but in general the plot is very entertaining. In "Wonder Woman" perfectly balanced drama, pathos and jokes, because the movie looks great. The atmosphere of the First World War was conveyed as best as possible, for which a huge and fat plus. Gal Gadot fit perfectly into the role of Wonder Woman. Her Diana Prince turned out to be combative, strong and generally with a very interesting character. Diana's friend Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, I really liked it. He turned out not to be a characterless and colorful character. Those who really disappointed are the main villains. They were too clichéd and without any motivation.
In terms of visual effects, there are no complaints. The action is not long and high-quality. The music just gets goosebumps. There are, of course, very illogical moments (who watched, he will understand).
As a result, the picture of Patty Jenkins was very successful, with shortcomings of course, but so far this is the best film of the DC Cinematic Universe in my opinion.
8 out of 10
Definitely the best film of the small but growing DC Cinematic Universe.
The plot is standard for superheroics: there are gs, there is gs.
But the rest of the film is beautiful. Unlike the First Avenger, we are shown a real war, not a couple of kids with sticks in the sandbox. Dirt, blood, victims of bombing, suffering people, self-sacrifice - all that should be in a war drama.
Feminism. Many people have probably forgotten what this word means. And all because of a bunch of inadequats who shouted that men should die and women should rule the world. Now, the inadequate cried matriarchy, and feminism is equality. And that was feminism, that is, equality. Diana has saved Steve’s life and Steve has saved Diana’s. Both are equal, important and strong. Here they do not go into insanity as in Braveheart, here they show equality exactly as it was originally intended.
Music. Guys, Hanz Zimmer here, that says it all.
Everything else is the same on the level: the characters are charismatic and memorable; the humor is really funny and you can see that it was written immediately, and not then added; acting and graphics are also delightful.
Overall: 11 out of 10 at fingertips.
The story of life’s injustice: You are the one who saves the world but loses everyone.
Best film in the new DC Cinematic Universe. Unwittingly compared to the picture 'Man of Steel' however 'Wonder Woman' this is undoubtedly a new level. I am glad that despite the failure of the previous film, DC has preserved the tradition of deep, contrasting and balanced films, which is a definite plus in contrast to Marvel.
Gal Gadot is a 100% hit. The hit happened exactly the minute we saw her at Lex Luthor's reception and in the battle with Doomsday at 'Is She With You'. As a character, she strikes with her naivete combined with willpower. Her step is sure, words are concrete, actions are honed. Thank you to the writers for not overstepping the love line. I was afraid that the snot was about to start, as it was with Clark and Lois, but the line Diana & Steve Trevor is an indicator of how to reveal the relationship between the characters in comic books. I tried to hold back a tear at the end, but I was glad the film ended that way (thank you, writers).
Humor. He's great. That’s why I prefer DC. Humor is appropriate, intellectual, and casual, but that’s what makes DC movies the way they’re loved.
There were a lot of words about the villain (more precisely the villains) of this picture. The final battle was not entirely clear to some extent. I didn't fully understand Dr. Marow's motivation. The fate of secondary heroes is not clear. The ending was as if something was missing. In the battle with Ares, I can only justify the fact that war is used to chaos. In general, the end is not the end, thank you for the fact that at least they did not torment the audience with snotty conversations, like no other, a film about a female warrior.
Now, why 9 out of 10. Because I need more Slow-Mo. In my opinion, it's too much. Yes, somewhere it was appropriate, somewhere you could do. It feels like 20 minutes of film are stretched due to slow shooting.
Waiting for 'Justice League'. In the hope that the shots with Diana Prince will be maximum. I believe that from now on DC will not drop the set bar and subsequent films will cause the same emotions as when watching 'Wonder Woman'.
The first feature-length film about a Super Hero Woman is what made me watch it. And this is a good start for conquering the superhero universe, but about everything in detail.
So I'll start with the cast. The main character is the Wonder Woman Diana and her brilliantly embodied actress of Israeli origin - Gal Gadot. Well, there are no complaints, one admiration. Admiration for acting, transformation into the image of a strong and beautiful Amazon, the transmission of its main features, character and desires. Before that, I was not familiar with the work of the actress, but after this film I will not be without interest to watch it.
The main villain of the film is the god of war - Ares, the character is at first a little inconspicuous and unremarkable, but it is intended, so this is only a plus. His unexpected appearance at the end of the film created the necessary animation and tension of the viewer’s attention. There are no complaints about the actor either.
And of course, the love line, where without it. Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, added a slice of girl tears to the film. The actor played quite reliably, although at first he did not particularly impressed me.
Now the story. The mystery of Diana’s origin, in my opinion, was not a mystery at all, but an obvious conclusion. From the first minutes of Steve’s appearance on the island of the Amazons, it was clear why he was in this picture, namely, to pair Wonder Woman in the fight for justice. This romantic note is as predictable as the spy ending at the end of the film, but more on that later.
The woman's miracle belief that the war will end with the murder of Ares moves her throughout the film. We do not get bored with dynamic scenes of battles and clashes. At first, our attention is focused on one seemingly obvious villain, but then the denouement convinces us otherwise.
And so the end scene is filled with action, explosions, rapid frame change, which is typical for this kind of movie. The main tragedy, as I said, is quite predictable, but because of this, it is no less sad, as strange as it may seem.
The video editing and all the effects were quite realistic and corresponded to what was happening, but modern films have no problems with this.
In general, this film left a pleasant impression, telling the story of the Miracle of a woman who fought for justice and saw the meaning of her life in it. This story is inspiring, it opens a new door for a woman who deserves a place among the existing superheroes.
A woman sitting in a director's chair is quite a rare phenomenon in our time. This was the film 'Wonder Woman' the fourth film in the DC Extended Universe. The trailer was very ambiguous - extensively touched on military topics, which for me is not very close. On the other hand, the use of a heroine with superhuman powers as the main character still aroused in me more or less considerable interest in the film.
Well, throughout the viewing, there was a feeling that something was missing. It seems that the plot is not bad - the Amazon wants to put an end to the war, the cast is quite well known (about it a little later), and the special effects, as always, are on top. Still, I did not feel the full impression of what I saw from the previous movie of the universe 'Suicide Squad' (I liked it a lot more).
Gal Gadot as Diana/Wonder Woman was irresistible. God bless her - first her very attractive appearance, and only then acting. But I don't underestimate the latter - she played at a decent level, it's all right here. Chris Pine also showed himself in the role of the soldier Steve, but against the background Gadot slightly faded. Of the secondary characters, Elena Anaya was very impressed - her Doctor Poison came out frightening and with sadistic inclinations, experiencing pleasure in killing thousands of people. David Thewlis was also surprised by the unexpected appearance of his character at the end of the film.
The film is provided with humor, which is good for him. Especially note two scenes - the discussion of the main characters ' piquant' topics in the boat and the exit of Diana from the boutique with a sword and shield in his hands.
'Wonder Woman' - quite beautiful and watchable film, but it was not enough to fully get satisfaction from watching. Nevertheless, the creators did a huge job, which cannot be ignored. DC fans and fans of the heroine are welcome to watch.
Is DC catching up with its competitors, or is Marvel already out of reach?
Hey, everybody! Today we will analyze the next film from DC - 'Wonder Woman'. I want to say that I did not have any high expectations about this tape, and this factor was decisive. You see, in general ' Woman' is good, but in contrast to the films that Marvel is releasing now, you can see how far behind one film company from another. ' Wonder Woman' reminded me ' The First Avenger' from ' Marvel' a line, from which we can conclude that the DC Cinematic Universe is still in ' Phase One' as it were ' vorners' neither tried to outdo their competitors. And as for the film itself - this is a good adaptation of the comics about Wonder Woman, a kind of fairy tale with an uncomplicated, but very well presented plot. Separately, I want to note the humorous component of this tape: jokes are funny, sometimes vulgar, but all this is in moderation. I would also like to mention the main antagonist. The actor is cool, his motives are clear to the viewer and somewhere he can even empathize. Thank you to Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Their chemistry allowed us to see a good dramatic line in this tape. And of course the strongest musical accompaniment from Rupert Gregson-Williams. I do not want to go into the cons of the film about Wonder Woman, because they were enough, but they do not particularly affect the overall impression of the film, but I would like to highlight one. The creators completely screwed up the picture. The graphics are striking, especially at the end of the film. Too dark, too ' virtual', too plastic. In conclusion, I would like to say, I advise you to watch comic book lovers, DC lovers.
8 out of 10
It’s no secret that in the superhero race between Marvel and DC, the former have run far ahead. And no matter how hard they try in DC and no matter what they come up with, no matter who is called to directors and lead roles, the success of Christopher Nolan’s Bat trilogy with Bale remains for producers a little marketing aspiration. And practice proves this conclusion! Since the beginning of the era of advanced computer graphics, DC has given birth to: 1997’s Mr. Steel, 2004’s Catwoman, 2006’s Superman Returns, 2008’s The Avenger, 2010’s Jdona Hex, 2011’s Green Lantern, 2016’s Batman vs. Superman, and 2016’s Suicide Squad... and against the backdrop of the above, only Guardians and Snyder’s Man of Steel seem like a quality product.
But the premiere of “Wonder Woman”, one of the key characters of “Justice League”, which pleased us with the script – the talentless confrontation of the Man of Steel and the Dark Avenger! And the rating of critics before the premiere in Russia made many DC fans believe in the revival of the Legend! Everyone said that it was Dina Prince who would begin the path of the cinema – the universe to the expected success and become the first step to the glorification of the epic “Justice League”! Can't wait! For Wonder Woman is another nail in the DC coffin of our generation! Another incompetent scenario, decorated with the romance of a retrospective of the Second World War, which, in fact, did not help. Once again, the DC film is replete with white spots and plot inconsistencies. The characters are dull and little remembered. And yes, Diana is interesting and dynamically blunts the whole film, being in the big world, and skillfully breaks enemies left and right. But she's not the hero in the end. Because of her actions and inaction, many people died. And in general, the war is shown not as meaningless bloodshed, but as a confrontation between the “good” and the “bad”. And Arsene with a mustache...with a mustache, Karl!!! Not with a beard, but with a mustache!
The only reason why the film was met with a bang was feminism! Yes, yes! One minute of film politics. Just like “Moonlight”, which is in fact an average, boring drama, is presented by critics as a masterpiece, and a bunch of examples that do not make sense to dwell on regarding this topic! The entire Western army of critics is tied to politics and elevates films about minorities (bisexuals, transgender people, AIDS patients, etc.). Of course, it is impossible to deny that there are a large number of beautiful films on the subject of gays and the sick, but they (critics) raise absolutely any such film! Wonder Woman continues this tradition! Strong woman! That's what they saw there! A woman is also a director. And, in order not to offend feminists and suffragettes, it is necessary in all major media to shout that this film is beautiful, so that ladies with a dot about equality are satisfied!
In my opinion, the picture about Diana Prince is average and nothing special stands out.
P.S. Feminists complained that the heroine Gal Gadot too shaved armpits.
The new film on DC comics – Wonder Woman, worthy, liked, as well as critics, who highly appreciated the picture. What is good about this movie and why should you go to the movies?
First, Gal Gadot, a beautiful actress and model of Israeli origin, who overnight won the love of the world. Perfectly fit into the role of the warrior of the Amazon, strong, smart and brave. Secondly, chic musical accompaniment, loved in Batman v Superman. Third, epic scenes, performed at the highest level, but how else? However, I personally was not enough, I waited for more unstoppable moments.
But apparently, the director decided to first show the history of the heroine’s formation, and leave all the power for the next films. The events unfold during the First World War, after the viewer is shown the island of the Amazons and little Diana, who grows up and becomes a warrior.
Also, a lot of screen time is devoted to the love line between Diana and the character of Chris Pine, their duet turned out to be really convincing. Not without the villain, which should destroy the miracle woman, here rather to the minuses, because the actor is very controversial for the role of such a character, I will not spoiler, just say that it looked like something out of place. In general, the film is good, it is kind, sometimes touching, sometimes funny, bright, beautiful, spectacular. Yes, there was not enough epic, perhaps it is a little delayed, still timekeeping is 2.20, but this does not spoil the overall impression.
By the way, about the topic of feminism, which many find fault with, in my opinion, it was almost not there! Yes, the island of women warriors who are called to protect, that's all. In the real world, Diana is restrained, does not go anywhere you ask, does not understand much and looks helpless rather than strong and independent. It does not concern her physical strength, then she has no equal. So it remains to wait for the next film, where the Wonder Woman will more manifest herself as a person and become the most charming stranger who deftly conducted Bruce Wayne.
1. We are witnessing the growing up, upbringing and coming into our world of Princess Diana. You can treat the character differently, but the fact that she is not ordinary and she has a secret was not in doubt. In the film, we learn the secret of her birth and arrival in the human world.
2. The construction of the plot is childhood, adolescence, youth, maturity. All stages of Diana’s life we see on the screen as she learns, improves, learns the world of Amazons and people. Her decision to come into the human world looks both naive and inevitable, Ares is back to harm, her task is to stop him. Traveling in a boat with Trevor to London and she in the world of people, this part of the film I liked especially, because the creators were able to fit in several episodes the main humor of the picture, which was to the place and defused some tension of the narrative. And finally, Diana grew up on the fields of the First World War, she found her purpose.
3. Visual series. All filmed at the highest level, there are no claims to the picture, and the skeleton of the Amazons, and the battle with the landing of the Kaiser sailors turned out perfectly, then the views of Victorian London and the battlefield of the First World War. Here all the artists, screenwriters, and effect specialists took their soul – bright, juicy, solid. The play of light and shadows, the brightness of colors, and special effects.
4. The sound design turned out to be memorable, but I thought, a little too much with sound effects. If the soundtrack did not cause complaints, then the excessive roar still interfered with places when silenced the replicas of the characters.
5. The actors did not disappoint, their images of heroes or villains turned out to be bright and Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, and Gal Gadot were an excellent embodiment of Amazons from comics, Chris Pine, who became a bridge to our world, also looked quite decent in the role of a British spy. The villains did not disappoint either.
Here's what I found remarkable. In general, “Wonder Woman” is a film for fervent fans of the DC universe, those who do not live as heroes, it will be difficult for him to enjoy watching the tape.
