The predictability of the film is amazing, I guessed absolutely every plot twist, if you can talk about them at all. If the hero has a wonderful relationship with his mother, then of course she will die in his arms. If corporations are necessarily inhuman to the point of absurdity. The only beautiful woman in the picture - hmm, who here will be the girlfriend of the hero? Of course, she will rush with him to the end of the world for no reason (except the desire of the director). The main enemy didn't charge in time - wow, I think I know how he'll die. And that's the whole movie. Timberlake has been trying to do something cool for many years to show that he is a man too, but he failed. To run through someone else's plot (Robin Hood + Equilibrium), through the anti-scientific world, which has a thousand author's mistakes, to participate in toy chases and kill a couple of succumbing opponents - this is all that he was presented on a platter in this film, deliberately made around one person and to raise his rating.
Damn funny movie. Not exactly what the creator wanted. And here everything is not at all like Chekhov with the Cherry Orchard, because the mirror difference between the desired effect and the effect obtained leaves no hint of genius. There are some good moments though.
The film is funny directed. The quality of the picture itself and most of the effects are pleasing. Car chases, shootings, destruction. Yes, even the usual cinematic classics, like “deep” frames and “eights”, are present, and executed well. That’s where the tape has serious drawdowns, so it’s in the production and composition. Countless times when characters and extras simply dissolve into space in order to allow our heroes to escape or, conversely, meet – is literally amazing. The attentive viewer will definitely recline several times on the back of the chair, the sofa or what else, where he will stare the film, with a smile from ear to ear, watching another disintegraving of manicines in the name of promoting the plot. As mentioned earlier, most of the effects are pleasing. Some action scenes cast doubt on the quality of the work done. For example, when we are shown how the car with the characters turns over, starting to make a twist in the air, the graphic designer somehow forgets to add our heroes to the cabin and as a result, the poor model breaks down into rubbish all alone. In the next frame, of course, everything is in place. This can be discussed for a long time, but it is important to make one remark. All these shortcomings are allowed in paintings of another category: cheap and without a claim to deep thought. This is clearly not the case, for the budget of $40 million has also taken aim at the problems of class inequality, trying to outdo Marx. I don’t see any point in citing films that did much better for less money, because the list will be very long, from “Rade” to some works like “Triangle of sadness” and “Parasites”. Still, Andrew Nicholl will smile better as a writer than a director.
Acting is so normal, but drags mostly only Murphy. Although even he looks a little dim, as if picking up the habit of playing exclusively in one emotional range with his colleagues in the film. And the main problem isn't Timberlake, who is clearly more of a singer than an actor, surprisingly. His partner, Amanda Seifred, who played the daughter of temporary millionaire Sylvia Weiss, looks too lifeless. Surprise, joy, flirtation - almost everything looks the same. Supporting actors hold themselves decently, but they are not enough. Of course, we are not dealing with “Room” by Tomi Wiseau, but, mindful of the size of the tape, we should expect more.
The script is, for me personally, the main catch. Such an intriguing idea formed the basis of the film, but it is so lazily implemented. This fact is most frustrating, because the next picture with a similar plot will not seem so innovative. How does this world work? Where are other countries with truly different time zones, and how, then, is timekeeping done there? Why are physical banks in this concept? Is it impossible to transfer time to everyone through an analogue of an ATM, necessarily need a solid carrier? We were even shown how time is transferred online to the investigator's car! If there's an incredible technology to slow aging, why are even the poor exposed to it? Why a financial system instead of a currency? Someone doubts that a beggar will stop running as a squirrel in a wheel if he needs to earn a penny instead of seconds to feed his family? If the point is in the absence of rapid overpopulation, then eventually, as a result of the increase in the number of rich exponentially, the working class will not remain at all. Look at the jump in the number of people on Earth with the development of drugs, penicillin. The longer a person lives, the more he can reproduce his descendants. In a situation like Time, everything would have collapsed in 30 years. Just as these questions remain unanswered, many characters remain undeveloped. What's the connection between the Timekeeper and Timberlake's father? Why did Murphy’s character escape from such a punitive system? The worst part is that it's interesting! So give all the answers, but no, let's focus on some pencil sketches instead of depth. The question of social problems is also funny. Instead of interesting arguments, we have ostentatious rich people, almost like from Soviet posters. Very angry, very wealthy and necessarily believe that the poor must die in order for the elite to live. All in all, laughter and all.
Just like I said at the beginning, I say the tape makes you smile. I don’t think she should, but she’s naive. Should you spend your precious time on it? I don't know.
A science fiction thriller that makes you think about the value of every minute of life.
Hello, friends! Today I’m going to tell you about Time (2011), a sci-fi thriller that got me thinking about a lot of things.
First of all, the story. The idea of the film is very interesting and, in my opinion, original. In the future, people stopped aging and stopped at a certain age. Each person has a built-in clock that shows how long they have left to live. The protagonist accidentally gets a huge amount of time and becomes a target for the organization that controls the distribution of time on the planet. But this is only the beginning of a story that is full of unexpected twists and dramatic situations.
What I really liked about the film was its visual effects. The scenes where the main characters travel to different cities look amazing. They create the feeling that you are in this world and can feel all its charms and dangers. I also liked the musical aspect of the film. Soundtracks perfectly emphasize the mood of the scenes and create the desired atmosphere.
But the main thing I remember about the film is its philosophical subtext. Time made me think about how we allocate our time and how important it is to be able to appreciate every minute of life. The film gives a lot of food for thought and makes you think about what is really important in life.
In general, I highly recommend watching the movie Time. It will make you think about a lot of things and maybe help you rethink your attitude. If you like sci-fi thrillers with an interesting plot and a beautiful picture, then this film is for you.
The excitement around this film is due to his brilliant idea, embodied, albeit on large screens, but almost without a single special effect, because it is known that the modern viewer was bored with expensive graphics, even there is an opinion that “the Americans were able to shoot normally until they learned what special effects are.” The authors of “Time” focused not on expensive action, but on the life dialogues that accompany the semantic plot in this film, they managed to show the truth of life in a fantastic version. The world in Time is a dystopia, showing the subordination of all people to a simple rule: if you run out of funds, you simply die, but if you have enough money, you can live forever. This is an exaggeration of the reality in which a person does not live without money, but exists. This is not to say that the film simply “replaced money for time” – in the world shown in this picture, many of its laws and orders. In this world, the rich live in royal conditions and can afford anything the soul desires, and the poor in poverty, hand-to-hand hunger and in extreme conditions, when death can overtake through any carelessness.
My planet is falling into tartara.
I am not the voice of a generation, I am its wild roar.
I am sad to see all this obscurantism every day!
They joke with us, but we have not had fun for a long time!
Who dares to climb under the armored train alone,
But stupidity has only one effect, and it is a side effect.
We have no one to ask to help us. We're at a dead end.
What can you do with your next picket?
I can't read my hand, but I know what's coming:
This world will fall apart like the one in which it was born.
There is no emergency or stop crane on this train.
And what not a day, a reason for another hundred grams.
The box says there's no reason to worry -
Why, then, is the nation barely alive?
Waiting for change, idly handed, is, of course, nice.
But what if the future is here?
After the role in the scathing youth comedy “Bad Teacher”, one could hardly expect a serious role from the actor and singer Justin Timberlake, but he managed to very convincingly portray a people’s fighter for justice, who is eager to take revenge on the new world of capitalist evil for the death of his native man. In the film, we see that his revenge can be realized only thanks to a random acquaintance from the “higher caste”, who is tired of life full of lies and lawlessness, and in the main character he sees a noble nature. So a character named Will Salas, who has nothing to lose but a righteous purpose, embarks on a path to making the world better (a motive that drives many, but often leads deceptively, especially teenagers). Will is 28 years old, but even if he lives a long time, he will always look 25, like all people on Earth (a very curious fact that the authors use to make the idea of changing money for a while does not seem “behind the ears”: in this way the powerful were supposedly pursuing the good goal of avoiding overpopulation in a world where no one is aging). His companion in life, dedicated to the war against fattened rich, oppressing poor residents of the ghetto, will be one of those very residents of the elite district, which did not even suspect how people from the extreme time zone live.
How do people live like this?
- Just sleep less.
The only correct solution in this situation for a poor man who broke into the world of the rich, and the daughter of an oligarch who learned about the injustice of life, is to become noble robbers, and restore justice in a world in which a brilliant medical discovery once occurred - the ability to remove the aging gene in a person and the ability to implant a chip with a clock into a person's heart and arm to measure his condition, on which life will depend. An adaptation of the Robin Hood legend? Even so, it is foolish to accuse the film of plagiarism from history and banal modernisation, because the film perfectly proves to us that little has changed since the Middle Ages in the world capitalist system, in which society is divided into “castes”, between which there is an enormous gap in the difference in living standards. Therefore, the two main characters are thieves only in relation to the law, whose guards create lawlessness, and therefore the actions of Will and Sylvia are justified by the offended society and carry with them the benefit of the humiliated and retribution for the “powerful of this world.”
What do we do? Stealing?
- What is theft?
The film has a high-quality presentation of elements of fiction, action movie and even drama, a real social drama that can please with wonderful life dialogues, from which blood boils without any special effects (there will even be moments that can knock out a tear, such as the tragedy in the life of Will during his life in the ghetto, as well as a scene with almsgiving to a poor girl in the transition). The action here is essentially present, but mainly it is a chase on foot and by car, there is no large-scale destruction and expensive extreme scenes – here it cost excellent camera work and beautiful scenery of the casino in an elite area where the “masters of life” live. In conclusion, every modern city lacks Will and Sylvia to restore justice where there is none.
There is no time to think,
But you have a chance to excel in this war.
All or nothing, pedestal or grave.
The future is here. The future is here.
In the world we always run, hurry, sometimes forget about the most secret that is given to us, is time.
_
The 2011 film, directed by Andrew Niccol, many perfectly playing actors in the lead roles with Justin Timberlake and beauty Amanda Seifred.
The plot tells about the near future with highly developed industrial spheres of production, where humanity reaches a certain age receives a kind of immortality or lack of aging of the organism in exchange for a restriction in the form of one of the most important and ordinary world resources - time.
The main character gets into a successful, but at the same time unpleasant situation, where for a huge reward in the form of hundreds of years of life, he receives the persecution of bandits - sentries and local police officers - time guards and the loss of the closest person. During the development of the plot, the main character has to make cardinal decisions, go against the system and the authorities, where he will be helped by a faithful companion - the daughter of one of the time tycoons, together they will break the system and give people the most important resource in the form of a huge amount of time.
_
The film is a masterpiece, but the very essence of breaking the system as a whole is somewhat contradictory to the real world because everything must be balanced, otherwise the world will plunge into chaos, which is well shown towards the end of the plot.

It would seem that the genius idea, where the main thing in the life of each person is time. But it was necessary to try so hard to ruin such an idea.
We are told about the life of a boy who lives in a ghetto and lives one day. And he earns by working all day at the factory. And the beginning seems to be good, but then throughout the film there is a fierce game:
1. I didn't quite understand why the timekeepers were chasing the protagonist. Is it forbidden in this world to give time to others? Well, the rich man turned out to be a joke and after the transfer of time voluntarily left for the other world, but what is the fault of GG that he begins to pursue???
2. In the ghetto, a gang of gangsters operates, which takes time from whomever it wants, remaining unpunished. Why not? There is no police force in the future.
3. GG is in the super-guarded home of the most powerful man in this city, where he is detained by timekeepers. It seems like you're done, man. But no, he manages to defeat all the guards alone and escape with the daughter of a rich man.
4. Transferring time is something to something. It can be stolen anytime and anywhere, the main thing is to correctly apply your hand to the other hand.
5. “You and I have 2 minutes left, at best one of us will survive, and that’s why we’re going to be standing and hugging.” Absurd...
There are so many illogical and stupid things in the movie. Often the characters in this film are completely stupid, and the dialogue between the two main characters is very often meaningless.
The acting of the actors also seemed to me about nothing, as if the whole film I was watching some dolls. The only actor to play the role is Cillian Murphy. Looking at his game, I want to believe that he is really a time keeper who has worked in this field for 50 years.
In general, this film is suitable to include it in the background and go about their business.
Since the release of the film has been about 11 years — and in the world where the action of this film, such a sum can be called fabulous. The film is written a lot of reviews, so to describe it in detail does not make sense.
The plot can be called interesting, although in essence it is an ordinary action movie. An action film-robbery in the conditions of dystopia, to be more precise. Before viewing, it seemed that the work would raise complex philosophical and ethical questions about time, but in reality it turned out to be much easier. It seems that the script was written by a child who suddenly encountered an unchildish topic for reflection. It seems so, because the main characters are idealists and romantics, blindly believing in justice. However, this is justified, because the character of Justin Timberlake comes from the ghetto, and he knows the value of time, and the heroine of Amanda Seyfried is a rebel from a wealthy family, surrounded by the attributes of a luxurious life and the security guards pursuing her everywhere. The first sees the real problems of lack of time in the lower strata and tries to correct it with his own methods, the second simply tries to use the situation to resist the dictates of his father. At some point, the film turns into a remake of Bonnie and Clyde. All this is fascinating, of course, but the ideas coming from the mouths of the central characters are quite naive and lead to a banal implantation of abstract justice, and the position of the hero Killian Murphy, the timekeeper who throughout the film tries to maintain a balance in temporary monetary relations in order to prevent chaos between rich and poor, seemed to me more understandable. The main characters try to make everyone happy by equalizing everyone in their capabilities and means, although in real life, and in the universe of the film, this will most likely simply lead to a large-scale destabilization of public order and, in general, to an environment similar to the consequences of the French or October Revolution. Their actions will be worse for all but the most oppressed; it will be worse for the average and the rich, who have reached their position in fair ways, but all in justice. It is romantic and beautiful, but at the same time it is naive and reckless. This thought haunted me throughout the viewing.
However, in other respects, the film is good. The characters and actors are cute, there is no obvious rejection of acting. The story, though naive, is interesting. And the other thing that bothered me was that there was only a modest squad of time guards in this world? Where's the police? Where's SWAT? Why do the main characters, after a series of daring crimes, continue to lead crime, although in such an anti-ideal state they would be caught at the stage of planning another raid?
And finally, I remember one expression (unfortunately, I can’t remember who the author is) – take the money from all the people on the planet, and then divide it among all the people equally, and in a month the same people will be rich as they were before. The film even through the storyline of the friend of the protagonist (who he gave 10 years) gives a hint of what will happen if you give time to everyone indiscriminately.

I love the dystopian genre, so I liked the movie.
Beautiful actors. The story is always young.
Nice suits. These little dresses and huge gloves on the ladies (to hide the "watch" on the hand). It's a little witty!
Dazzling design of the world of the rich, where a native of the ghetto immediately stands out like a dirty stain.
Visually, the film is super, for which you can forgive logical inconsistencies.
(Yes, with the beauty of Glavheroina, the director overdid it, it was still necessary to wear more functional shoes on her.) With such dresses, the general image of the Malvin doll – obviously dear to the director’s heart – would still be preserved.
A great wordplay that makes you think about the value of life – when the words “Ain’t there a minute?” or “I don’t have time” sound ominously literal. Such simple, familiar phrases have a deep meaning.
Strong characters, each of which has something supernatural, because through the impeccable appearance of these people shine through long difficult years. An interesting task for actors!
Cillian Murphy is especially burning. I didn’t recognize him at all, although I watched Disco Pigs, Inception, and Breakfast on Pluto. It is necessary to transform in such a memorable appearance! He is excellent at both strong-willed and affectionate-feminine characters, apparently because somewhere at the bottom of both these types there is a little psychopathy.
Social idea. After all, by and large, there is a small amount of fiction in anti-utopias, and the rest is true. We live this way: only a few have enough energy to “live to the fullest”, most vegetate in some half-dead state, barely “making ends meet”, and it is not only about money, the reasons are deeper. But how to change this, how to become “innerly rich”?
I plunged into an unusual world and watched with pleasure. I wish the director not to give in to criticism and continue to please the audience with curious dystopias!

As long as we have time, we can change things. . .
The magnificent fantastic picture of Andrew Niccol tells about an amazing post-cyberpunk world, where the main currency and the only means not only for simple existence, but also for immediate survival is Time.
Genetically embedded restriction in literally every person on Earth at the age of 25 triggers an internal timer to destroy it. A person is given an advance in the form of one year, and then spin yourself, survive, work, save time and maybe extend your empty term for an indefinite number of days, hours, seconds. The main character of the film (Justin Timberlake) decides to change the situation, getting an unprecedented chance to correct his own fate. Will he be able to influence the fate of other people who die every second because of a frightening lack of time? . .
The picture intrigues acute social and philosophical-being main narrative agenda. Time is the most precious resource of all life in this world. Everyone decides how to use it. It is important to remember that time is limited, and everything must be done in the postponed segments of life. Can you be yourself? Will you be able to achieve your goals? Can you love life itself? Important questions that wait for action instead of answers. Life is a process, an activity. So let's live!
As a result, In Time is a fantastic thriller, accurately and rapidly illustrating the transience of human existence, which is wasted on endless attempts to find oneself in this immoral world.
In terms of creating dystopias, Andrew Niccol is a great guy. And he takes the material is already morally outdated in terms of fiction, but skillfully beats it, turning it into a watchable movie. He would be given a classic to film, but he does not take it, replacing everything with a surrogate of old ideas. Well, the writer, what can you do, can not.
The idea of genetically circumcised life is not new. You have Huxley and Logan’s Escape. But Niccol transformed it from a lifestyle into an economy. At the same time, seemingly successful people can pull the yoke, in fact being stranded. That is, only the super-rich have savings, the rest are mired in microloans. There is a big question for Nikcol, but it can be solved immediately - well, it is accepted here.
In general, the ghetto is too polished and does not create a ghetto impression. The bums out there aren't exactly bums... This is a bright future for us...
Thank you very much for the technical approach. If in “Gattack” there was the style of the 1950s, in “Time” – the 1970s in all. Big screens, electric cars and all that.
But the overall impression is obviously blurred. Nikkol does not know how to choose actors, nor can he work with them. This is a fantastic idea and goes separately. Feeding the story separately. Timberlake is an average actor... Matthew Perry would have done better in this role.
It all comes down to bank robberies like Bonnie and Clyde, which are ruining the established economy. Like Kamo and Kotovsky will come to power and stage their own terror. They're just robbing banks. And many hints of wrongness of actions are in the film, but they are only bells and do not even give thought to whether the characters are doing everything right.
I watched it a second time because I didn’t remember. In principle, there is something in it, but alas, it all came down to meaningless "robingudism". Well, you don't have to look.
Delighted by the idea. For the first time I see such a reading of the phrases “If you had a lot of time on your watch, what would you do?”, “Have a minute?”, “I don’t have time.”
When time becomes a bargaining chip, you immediately overestimate life, leaving behind everything unnecessary.
I did not expect Justin Timberlake to reveal himself as a talented actor. Despite his aristocratic appearance, he perfectly got used to the role of a native of the ghetto. I note that the charismatic Amanda Seyfried turned out to be a great couple for him.
An unusual concept from the first minutes captivates and chains to the screen. Especially interesting is the decision to make all the characters ageless after 25 years. This made it possible to touch upon the problem of intergenerational relationships, because when parents look the same age as their children, relations with them are perceived differently.
This film I watched at the time on the big screen, and I remember, I really liked - my favorite genre at that time action movie was combined with a non-banal and unobtrusive love line, causing a lot of philosophical thoughts. Unusual, right? The film may not claim to be brilliant, and some may find it simple and disposable, but I remember it. The movie is from 2011 and I still remember it.
What is this painting about? We have a future world where the only currency is our lifetime. Worked the day - time accrued, went to lunch - written off, paid the fare home - written off, went to the pharmacy for medicine - written off. How people did not go crazy, seeing constantly running seconds on the hand, I do not know.
But people’s problems didn’t end there. After reaching the age of 25, a person ceases to age, but he has only a year of life left in reserve, and if time is not constantly replenished, a person dies. With rising prices and falling wages, middle-class people are rapidly “poor,” the very poor are dying on the street, and the rich are rapidly increasing their time at the expense of others and enjoying immortality in their luxury villas. I know you, right?
Will is from the poor, he has to spin his last strength to survive, literally and figuratively, but he does not lose moral values long forgotten by the rich. One day he witnesses a "hit" a rich man in a bar and saves him from certain death, for which he finds a gift from him in the morning - the guy gave all his time to Will. Not having time to recover from the shock, Will learns that such gifts are considered theft by the police, and he is chased.
Trying to hide from the pursuit, Will buys expensive things and tries to join the party of the rich to mix with those who also have a lot of time on their hand. However, he is found there, and Will must take the daughter of one of the rich men hostage to escape. While wandering around the city in an expensive car, Will learns that there are time safes belonging to his pursuers and their superiors. Realizing that now his time on earth has acquired special meaning and he can help others, he decides to find these safes.
Despite the fact that the film is set in an entertaining genre, it makes you think. What would it be like if we lived by the same rules? Aren't we living the same way now? Yes, there is no timer on our hand, but we pay with our time for everything we do.
How much time we give to the work (which, mind you, does not add time to us, and therefore should give other bonuses, not be a hated burden); how much time we give to the people around us (do all of them deserve it?); how much it goes into void when we sit and whine, argue with someone on the bus or chat, proving something; how much time we spend on what makes us happy and leads to the fulfillment of desires (spend enough or postpone everything for later?); how much goes into the fulfillment of duties (not much).
Unlike the characters in the film, we don’t see when our timer should stop, but we spend our time as if we had it for centuries. Those are the thoughts out loud. And, perhaps, if the film provokes them, then it is already shot for good reason. I would recommend watching.
For me, the film 'Time' is correct in all aspects of film evaluation. The one-of-a-kind idea of the film, smooth transitions of an intriguing plot, deep meaning. The quality of shooting is my favorite, the actors are always on the main plan, large shots are clear and convey the whole range of emotions of what is happening.
The film's actors seem to be specially crafted for their roles. Strong in body and spirit Justin Timberlake, beauty with bottomless eyes Amanda Seyfried, glamorous ' badass ' Killian Murphy look so natural in the environment created by the director that sometimes you forget that on the screen fantastic action. The role of Olivia Wilde is very short, but the fate of her character gives drama throughout the film.
In the picture there is no place for old age and diseases that have frightened the population of the Earth for centuries. In exchange, there is the fear of losing a life while remaining young and full of strength. It's kind of Oda, a 25-year-old. At this age, the characters of the film stop aging, and begin to fight for survival. The price for everything in their world is non-stop expiring minutes.
The subtle morality of the film will appeal to even the most avid skeptics. How to manage the only thing you have - life. In this regard, the rich have one problem, how to properly spend their time, the poor still need to get this time.
The film ' Time' tragedy in the bundle, opens the soul of the viewer to fill it with a thirst for justice, a desire to make the world a better place, an irrepressible desire to fill your life with meaning and a little excitement in subsequent scenes.
After spending their time on the creation of Andrew Niccol, no doubt, everyone will make a profitable investment.
Interesting movie. Its concept is truly original and the film is done very well, for the most part providing a pleasant pastime.
Bonnie and Clyde's story of the future is moving at a pace. When time is literally money, an overpopulated society is also divided into short-lived and long-lived castes, as Ivan Efremov showed in The Bull Hour 39. Only it will be considered democratic, since everyone living in it allegedly has the same opportunities for self-realization.
Although it is not fully explained how genetic modification works, for the first time in cinema the problem of erasing the distance between generations has been raised. After all, when mother-in-law, wife, daughter and you now and forever look at the same biological age, it will be difficult to communicate within the old traditions.
In fact, if desired, seniority could emphasize at least through the manner of dressing, and here even this is dead. Although... parental feelings, love and respect for parents still manage to survive in this society, which has created all the conditions for the sexual freedom that exists in the rabbit herd, where all creatures communicate without indiscriminate age, rank, kinship.
Good day, dear friends! Andrew Niccol's film is a very original project. Released in the universal age of computerization and the desire of man to know his own world as much as possible, it offers one version of our being in the future. And although the idea itself is futuristic, its basis remains as it is now, as it was a hundred, two hundred, three hundred, even a thousand years ago. People do not change, only the scenery of their lives change. And that's exactly what this picture is about.
The story itself seems quite banal. The film, in which the famous expression 'Time is money!' acquires a literal meaning. In the world that we see on screen, the aging gene has been defeated, and people stop growing, which means getting old after 25. Life after this age must be earned. Each person has a clock implanted in his hand, which begins its countdown when their wearer turns 25, and is given only a year of life, and the rest of the time he has to earn himself. Time here is the full equivalent of money, it can be spent and earned, it can be stolen. For example, a cup of coffee costs three minutes, a trip by bus - two hours - everything has a price, and at the same time buying something a person shortens his life. It is easy to guess that in such a society there is a huge gulf between the rich & #39; and the poor & #39; when the former, having hundreds of years in reserve, can safely enjoy life and are actually immortal, while the latter never have more than a day in reserve, and for them life is a constant struggle for hours, hard work, and fear of being robbed (and taking time by force is as easy as money), because stopping the clock means imminent, instant death.
The main character - Will Salas, just belongs to the second group: lives in a poor zone and barely makes ends meet. His life changes dramatically when he meets a local rich man and saves him from bandits. He not only gives him a generous reward for this, but also opens the veil of mystery about how society really works. From now on, Will is obsessed with justice. It is easy to notice that the main characters almost all the time run, however, very quickly and lively. They are constantly on the go, constantly in motion, which is also an important factor in the film. In a world where the rich do everything slowly, they have a lot of time ahead and nowhere to hurry. And Will and Sylvia keep running and running, they run in a world where people have forgotten what running is.
In fact, the film 'Time' - a very smart movie, shot as they say on the rash of the day, because as it is not paradoxical in this world, little that changes. One of the main themes of the film is the state system, opposition to the system. The distinction between rich and poor has always been and always will be. Patricians and plebeians, slaves and other gentlemen - whatever you call the essence of this will not change. The poor die in the hundreds and thousands so that the rich may enjoy their lives. But they don’t live, they just exist. Over time, their luxurious eternal life, in which there is everything, begins to bite them. There is no such thing as a perfect system!
There will always be people who are willing to challenge her. People are too willing to live to give up and not even fight.
The film touches on two other important aspects of human life. He speaks of immortality and vividly demonstrates the impersonality of eternal life (' for life is brighter and more beautiful when it is finite!'). A person who has experienced and learned everything just wants peace, he is tired of the monotonous cycle of events, denigrates the cruelty and injustice of the world, its immorality and emptiness. Others cling to life with all their limbs because they are afraid to die, because their lives are counted by hours and sometimes even minutes. But they live a full life, experience the full range of various emotions available to a person. They feel that they are living at the limit, and every day of their lives can be their last. And that is the beauty of human existence. And the simplest morality that runs through the whole story. This is a banal to nausea truth - save time, appreciate every moment, love family and friends, live, not exist, enjoy the surrounding reality and do not try to keep up with time. It will win anyway, we are all mortal! You can't buy immortality! None of the characters in the film did it!
The acting in this film is also at the highest level! The main character of the film Will Salas played Justin Timberlake. This guy began to glow more and more in the movies and from role to role it becomes clear that his game is more convincing. His character in this film has experienced a lot, but inside he still has hope, a core, thanks to which he does not break and tries to achieve justice. Amanda Seyfried as Sylvia is a very beautiful and natural girl, very original showed us the image of a rich daughter who decided to lose everything, to challenge the system that had previously given her so much to be with a loved one. Cillian Murphy created a strong and memorable image of a person stuck in and serving the system, who is breaking ideals and priorities.
In summary, 'Time' is a futuristic, intelligent film, shot very topical, and touching on many aspects of human life. It demonstrates inequality, ruthlessness and soullessness, demonstrates vividly and revealingly! It talks about important things easily and simply, makes you think. Isn't that the most important thing? Cinema should be thought-provoking. No one has to live forever! If you haven’t seen this movie, I highly recommend it!
Thank you for listening to my review!
Have you ever thought about what would happen if you just ran out of time, biological time? What if instead of money to pay with a universal currency?
One huge plus that made me watch the film is the originality of the idea and a lot of unanswered questions. There is an opportunity to live forever, not to grow old, to pay for everything with your time: for food, for transport, for credit... just a dream! But there is a problem: only the rich have unlimited time, the rest who are not lucky enough to accumulate a fortune can go two ways: either die at the end of their Time, or steal time from others to prolong their existence. Now the question is, where did this biological time come from? How is it that all people seem to be chipped, with a clockwork built into their hand, counting back the remaining years, months, minutes, seconds? Question two: if Weiss banks have special sensors with time reserves on them, then it is logical to ask how it is stored and collected. Question three: How in the distant future did it turn out that humans did not have any amazing new technologies? From the word Owl! Ordinary cities, ordinary neighborhoods, ordinary houses, ordinary cars.
The main character Will loses his mother, not having time to give her part of his time, receives the greatest gift from an unfamiliar guardian in the form of hundreds of years, and what does Will do with this gift? He spends it on entertainment in a rich neighborhood! Iron logic! A separate conversation about actors. Will's touching, caring mother, Will himself, like a good guy who is spoiled by money, rich Sylvia, with whom Will falls in love, but, as always, the best images of villains turned out. a funny method was chosen by the main character with his girlfriend to extend his life - robbing banks with stocks. This is Robin Hood with a companion.
In general, if you ignore the questions, the idea is good, but the embodiment is weak, there was not enough time to make a film about time. The film teaches us to value our time, not to waste it, to live and enjoy every moment, to appreciate those who are nearby, because we will not be able to transfer our time to them. I would recommend seeing it once.
Remember the time when you spend it meaninglessly.
“Time” is a fantastic thriller-drama that brought to life Andrew Niccol, who by the time he began work on this film has already made himself an authority in Hollywood through the scripts for the films “The Truman Show” with Jim Carrey and “Terminal” with Tom Hanks, as well as through his work as a director in the films “Gattaca” and “The Gun Baron” with Nicholas Cage. Accordingly, we can conclude that Niccoll has a God-given talent for writing scripts, but not for his own directing activities, in which Andrew does not show himself a genius. Perhaps this is the main problem of the film – a little not the person who was supposed to be, is in the director’s chair. Sorry, Nikkol, but this is the case when the hat is not according to Senka. In this film, we present the world of the future, which is based on time. People live, giving time to the world, and pay time for products, and pay for services also produce time. Time is at the heart of everything. Of course, in this world there are their rich, who have so much time that they do not watch it and spend it right and left, and there are also their poor, who have less time than a day. The adventures of one of these poor people, the “rebel” from the ghetto, will be told to us. The theme of time is insanely dragged, but the relevance still does not lose
The film invested $ 40 million, which is not so much and, perhaps, most of this amount went to the royalties of the actors. It is worth saying that the actors did their job - they only by their presence, by their own names attracted the viewer to cinemas, and therefore the picture paid off.
Famous writer/director, famous actors, great idea of the whole movie... what could have gone wrong? Realization. Realization is the cause of all the problems of many modern films. You should pay attention to the film only if you are a personal fan of any actor involved in the film. The film came out uneven, with a prevailing note of frustration at realizing what could have been better. So, for example, we are thrown into the heat of events without broad explanations, without introducing the matter so much, and this is definitely not a plus in this case.
How do you add and take time? By thought? I guess. But why should the audience understand this for themselves?
The film was so controversial that it even has pros and cons about the same number and they are expressed in the following:
-A cast of actors. Some of the main characters (Timberlake) perform their role well, some are tolerant (Cyfred and almost all the main characters) and only one person plays chic - his name is Killian Murphy, who has long been consistently playing secondary characters at an excellent level of acting, very well he was able to show a targeted time guard (a la a police detective), who is not interested in time (consideration money) and who is devoted to his work unconditionally. It should be noted that the actors of this tape recruited all people of model appearance. For what? The peak of acting is certainly not in a beautiful figure. It was a very, very glossy picture. Yes, beautiful, but in the moments where you need to act out difficult emotions, many actors literally “fall asleep”. The main characters of the film (Timberlake and Seifred) sincerely try to show feelings among themselves, a spark, but their tandem and in the hundred best movie couples will not enter, alas.
- Action. It's not that much here, but when it's there, it's not bad. Nothing terrible, but nothing original.
The general atmosphere of the chase, the desire to time again and again, the fear of the end of time adds to the picture of “pluss”.
- Very, very bad editing. The film is precipitous, it has a lot of jumps and jumps. There are many moments when the characters are in one place, and after a few seconds in another. Smooth display of events is not observed.
They are trying to show us the future, but the very future there are few or many modifications of modern machines, the device for the account with bank cards has been replaced by a modification for reading time, buildings that do not differ in elaboration look very poor.
Running in very high heels of the main character throughout the film ... without comment. The film literally drowns in small stupidities, shortcomings - there are a lot of them here.
Summing up, it becomes obvious that the creators wanted to get a cult film about the fight against the system, a film that will take a worthy place in the list of the best science fiction films, and the level of “entertainment” cinema that you will watch and revise the desires will not appear – it is very much striking the flaws of the film, its high potential and poor implementation of this potential. If you have not seen this film and you have nothing to do, then it is quite possible to watch it.

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Time is money.” Of course, he did not mean it literally, but the creators of the film “Time” went further, turning what nowadays is considered a saying, not a quote, into the main idea for their film.
So this is the world of the future. Not exactly happy as usual. This is a world where people live forever. Or they're trying hard to live. The fact is that in the body of each person from birth, a timer is built in, which displays how much a person is assigned to live. The timer is activated at twenty-five years of age. There are twenty-five in this world. How cool, you say, is a world where everyone is young and beautiful. But there is also the flip side: after the timer expires, a person dies, and in order to get more time (and this is literally true), you need to work: earn yourself a day and live another day. But this is not all, because time in this world is a currency: for it you pay for the communal apartment, buy yourself food, pay for travel in transport, and you take time on credit, then time for the loan and pay. All the romance is lost, right?
The story is actually dystopian and sad. There is a rebel here who wanted to break the system, though not realizing that by doing so he does not do good, but more harms those who were satisfied with the conditions of life, even if they were three times cabal. I will not say that the film is very deep, although it undoubtedly tries to appear to the audience, but it is beautiful. Here are well-chosen actors - Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seifred, Jesse Lee Soffer, Cillian Murphy. I have not yet listed the less noticeable in the frame, but no less talented.
There is no doubt that the film, although it develops classically for such a story, it is nevertheless interesting to watch and experience the heroes. The couple of the main characters turned out to be amazing and beautiful, you fall in love with them and believe with all your heart in their unexpected relationship. “Time” ends in a very logical way. And I want it to stay that way. This is not a movie that needs a sequel, because it will be a self-repeat. But in a single version of the movie is unique and I recommend it to all fans of dystopias.
The film was recommended the other day by my friends, which surprised me a bit. You see, I am a fan of all sorts of genres with parallel universes, time travel, post-apocalyptics and dystopias of the future, and when I heard that a movie of this genre flew past my ears, I was initially skeptical of it, because good films of this genre, as it seemed to me, had almost all been revised by me.
Before watching, he appreciated the cast: of course, Justin Timberlake, who in his years made a fuss among the female sex, and Cillian Murphy aka Scarecrow from The Dark Knight, jumped in the eyes the most. A little excited, I started watching.
The film begins a little in a sad atmosphere, the feeling of future dystopia is conveyed to the viewer well - the advantage of dark colors, poor environment and sullen people, plus sometimes high-tech things. The viewer also meets the bald Orlando Bloom. Okay, I'm kidding. No, seriously, a shaven Timberlake with the naked eye is very easy to confuse with a bald Legolas.
The development of the film at first very quickly unfolded, there were important moments, after which 1/5 of the film was a little delayed - focused mainly on the emotions and adventures of the main character. But the further you look, the more quickly events begin to develop again, experiences / compassion / hatred of certain characters appear, and now by the middle of the film you are all imbued with the situation, in places the writer directly wants to deal with the main characters, and you already think with interest, “what will happen to them”, “and what will happen to this secondary character”, “and what will happen to other people.”
I would have written a lot about the ending without spoilers. I'll say I really liked her. Many people will think “boring”, “bad”, “don’t believe”, “not so it should have been”, but you know that you are boring. The ending is chic, a little predictable, but chic. I was very happy with her.
As far as predictability is concerned, this is the only small piece of film. Some of the climaxes can be predicted if you carefully watch and listen to what the characters say. There are also pianos in the bushes, probably this writer wanted to compensate for the predictability, but this compensation came out rather strangely. When the viewer does not hope for any action, but then BAM and completely out of nowhere appears what can be called either a coincidence, or simply describe “Fuck it.”
After an hour and a half of watching, I was all emotional. In addition to emotions, I was puzzled how this work flew past my eyes for six years. The film has almost everything that I appreciate in the films – a good plot with tiny shortcomings, a good cast, a hero with a worldview of “chaotic good”, is ready for completely unrestrained and stupid actions for the sake of good, a perfect ending and of course a positive main message to the viewer.
Of course, you can argue about the message for a long time, because Robin Hood, for example Yuri Detochkin, such characters are ambiguously perceived by society. Some think they are criminals, others think they are good, and I think there will always be two sides to this kind of issue. But since I have a positive attitude towards these types of characters, I consider the message well thought out. Of course, I do not encourage people to rob the rich and give everything to the poor, but from my point of view, such people do this not out of evil motives and cruel condemnation they do not deserve.
There is also a secondary message in the film, which is immortality. Let’s assume a person discovers the secret of immortality and what next? Is immortality good, or is it just endless survival? How will immortality affect human relationships? What benefits will the upper strata of society find in immortality, and how will this affect the lower strata? Over all this, the film makes you think that gives an unambiguous additional plus to him in the assessment.

Time is a fantastic thriller with elements of an action movie, (and maybe vice versa) from Andrew Niccol, who acted simultaneously as a producer, writer and director of the film. Of the famous works of this filmmaker, I will note such films as Gattaka and The Armoury Baron. He also produced and wrote such iconic films as The Truman Show and The Terminal. The budget of the picture was $ 40 million, and at the box office it collected almost 174 million, which is a very decent result.
The film tells the story of a world in the future where time has become the single hardest currency, where people are genetically programmed to stop aging at 25 years old. However, subsequent years are worth money. The rich become virtually immortal, and the poor, as always, are doomed to fight for life. The main character Will Salas is an ordinary guy from the ghetto, who is unjustly accused of murder with the aim of robbing time and is forced, taking hostages, the daughter of a temporary tycoon, to go on the run. So, every minute risking their lives, these two become a formidable weapon in the fight against the system! The concept of the plot is very interesting, although it follows the canons of classical dystopia. But the original idea, its presentation and message make us think about our real life, about the structure of the world economy, society and values. In the picture, the future reflects the present, elevated to the absolute and clearly showing all the charms and flaws of life. This is a film in which almost every phrase can be perceived as a metaphor in real performance. Because people do not change, only the scenery of their lives change, and this conceptual, fantastic world of the future, from a more acute angle, shows topical, pressing problems.
Scenario Pictures very dish. And if desired, it can be found quite superficial, ill-conceived, and illogical. But taking into account the idea and concept, the issues raised, as well as the all-consuming atmosphere of the film, these roughness and shortcomings just want to close your eyes!
Acting performance was generally enjoyable. Especially, I was pleasantly surprised by Justin Timberlake playing Will Salas. Also perfectly coped with the role of time guard Raymond Leon, actor Killian Murphy. As for me, almost squeezed the role of Amanda Seyfried who played Will's partner, Sylvia Weiss. The rest managed exactly as much as the script suggested.
With the soundtrack and the visual component in the film at a high level! Andrew Niccol beautifully recreated the world of the future. And although this world is not much different from ours both in its structure and in its shell, it captures details that make it alternative and alien to ours. Streamlined forms, cold colors, mechanized structure of society, geometric shapes with sharp corners, sometimes frank sterility of halls and complete lack of feeling of home comfort - these are the details that make up the overall picture and tonality of the tape. All this atmosphere, was able to brilliantly convey the cameraman Roger Deakin for whom it was the debut of the film completely shot on a digital camera. The music in the film perfectly complements the recreated atmosphere, and the action scenes, although not numerous, but very dynamic!
In the end, was an interesting, spectacular film! With a good plot, an interesting idea, a wonderful acting, with a deep message and a beautiful atmosphere! Personally, I really liked the movie! I find it more interesting than modern dystopias like The Hunger Games and Divergent. I highly recommend it!
My husband once liked this movie and recently he wanted to watch it, and at the same time, I wanted to watch it. Well, I looked ... I endured ... I looked at my watch a hundred times ... and now I write with a heavy breath a review.
It is boring and boring, although there is a good plot, and the actors played well, but there was nothing in this picture that would really catch on. Another dystopia, a totalitarian regime in the country, a hero who decided to change such a system - all this is not new. Except that the idea over time is unusual, on which depends how you will live and where, what to eat and how long you will live. Everything rests on hours, minutes, seconds, and if one of this time has at least nothing to spare and do - the elite has secured eternal life - then others have it catastrophically lacking and chances to die overnight a lot. But in fact, and this is not such a novelty - also in our lives and with money, only immediately, if it suddenly runs out, you will not die, and they cannot provide immortality. In some ways, the idea was interesting, but something was clearly lacking.
There was in this story the story of the confrontation between the rich and the poor, and the love story of people from different social strata, and the conflict of a parent and his child, and even passion, and pursuits, and the dangerous implementation of the coup, but somehow it was faded and not too striking.
I cannot say that I did not like the picture at all, but it clearly lacked the emotions that it was supposed to give rise to in the viewer.
I would like to talk about the actors separately. It’s really nice and unexpected, considering I’ve never heard of this film before, to see Olivia Wilde in it. A good actress, worthy of playing a caring, loving mother. But there was also a gap in the plot, for this wonderful woman spent her last precious time looking for compassionate people who were never found, although she could spend it running home and at least stay alive. But... This was the idea of the writers, otherwise her son Will would hardly dare to risk everything that he had, and go to change the world with its foundations.
Here I would like to note the game of Justin Timberlake. I am so glad you are a really talented person! He plays no worse than he sings. Out of curiosity, I watched him play and he didn’t disappoint me. But other pictures with him, alas, I have not seen, so I focus only on this film.
The other main character, performed by Amanda Seifred, did not remember me at all and also seemed ordinary. She was not annoying, but she did not at all arouse any special desire to empathize with her, to worry about her, to wish that everything would end well for her. It was as indifferent to me as the film itself, so my review will still be neutral.
Not to say that this film is very bad, but it is not good, because it is boring. Someone quite rightly scolds him, and someone, I think, will find in it for themselves even a fascinating story. But personally, I will not review it again. I looked at it once, got acquainted with a curious idea and this is enough for me.
My assessment
The film "Time" touches on the serious topic of social equality and income distribution. There is a division into "rich" and "poor", and it is determined by birth. Only infrequently can the “poor” move to the “rich” caste, and almost never the opposite. Every time the population of a poor neighborhood grows richer, the “rich” raise their prices – thus they gain a few thousand more years, and the “poor” perish and again begin to lead a miserable existence. The main character dreams of breaking this system, even if he does not know where idealism will lead him.
Action in the film on a level - shootouts, beautiful fights, car chases, everything is done with chic and brilliance. It's a pleasure to see. There's nothing to pick on here. 10/10.
Logic is completely absent. The main character can, without any skills and abilities, knock out a bunch of security guards, rob a bank, drive a car, saying that it is “not easy”. It is hard to believe that a simple factory worker can do all this. And how easy it is for him to cheat everyone from the same banks to the local police. It's unbelievable. 3/10.
Characters are very good. There are some platitudes, but overall they were incredibly interesting to watch. 10/10.
The plot, quotes, theme is important and incredibly elaborate. A huge amount of philosophical (truly philosophical) thoughts, excerpts from economic theory and all that. 10/10.
My score for the film is 7/10.
“Time” is a beautiful, interesting and lively (and how else?) film that I, despite the illogicality in the plot, highly recommend to watch.
P.S. You can't judge a mistake.
A good movie that teaches you to appreciate time. The film takes place in the future, where people pay time instead of regular currency. They live by time, earn time, waste time, etc. But the film draws a parallel. The picture also shows that you need to correctly distribute and use your time, appreciate it. It's just like the reality. Poor people are forced to do everything quickly, to work, ignoring their personal lives. They just don't have time for that. And the rich can live quietly, at a convenient pace, resting and enjoying life. Loved the dialogue between Will and Henry Hamilton, one of the rich, in which the second asked Will:
- If you had a lot of time, what would you do?
- If I had time, I wouldn’t waste it.
And in general, in terms of dialogue in the film, you can single out a couple of interesting thoughts.
The cast I liked. There are a lot of actors in the movie that I like.
Justin Timberlake Initially, a singer who undoubtedly achieved fame and proved that he is a first-class performer. Gradually moving to television screens. We have seen such stories many times before. I like that Justin is good in both roles. Although in the picture Time (as in all others), he did not show some incredible and ingenious game. But it wasn't necessary. How it was necessary to show the hero Will Salas, so Timberlake showed it. I like some of his thoughts and motives that move the main character on the path to revenge. In general, he did his job very well.
Amanda Seifred. It also pleases the eye with its appearance on the screen. In this picture plays Will’s lover and the daughter of a rich man and one of the antagonists. Just like Timberlake, there was no need to show anything incredible on the screen. But she did her part. In addition, in the facts for the film it was not written that anyone else was seriously considered for the role of Silvia.
Cillian Murphy. Not a bad actor. There are good movies with him. But I'm not particularly excited about it. In this film plays a policeman, also one of the antagonists, who most of the film pursues Will. I liked how he tried to think like Justin’s character. One of the clever and cunning (or perhaps the most) characters in the picture.
Olivia Wilde It is known from the TV series Dr. House. I first saw her in the movie "Touristas". Good actress. I expected to see her in one of the main roles. But she had 10 minutes of screen time, if not less. Which disappointed me. Therefore, it is difficult to draw a conclusion on its role.
Overall, I liked the picture. I especially want to highlight the idea of the film and the cast. But as this idea presented ... somehow the authors did not try very hard. Recently, it has become fashionable to manage your time, correctly distribute it, use it as the main resource to achieve some goals in life. Therefore, it was possible to create a more serious and large-scale picture (for example, Matrix or Beginning). But limited to the usual adventure action movie, with a love line and a happy ending. And such films, alas, a very large number. Well, the play of actors who did not need to go out of their way to play their roles also takes one point. That is why it is well deserved
In a world where time is real money, injustice and crazy inflation reign, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer. But unlike the real world, in the world of “Time” there is a hero who will change everything for the better.
I haven't seen a movie like this in a long time. Naturally, all the dialogues that could be filled with background, philosophy and reflections on the subject of this world are replaced by jerky phrases that can easily be found in some boyish communities or in pictures of the cosmos.
I do not want to waste time and delve into the description of all the shortcomings, so I will be extremely brief.
The plot is extremely primitive, ill-conceived, shallow, superficial. That's the idea! There's so much to do! But no, the creators limited themselves to lousy action, some childish truths and principles of the fictional world and the boundless stupidity of all the characters and what is happening. Here women are dissatisfied with wealth and potential immortality, the rulers of the world do nothing, there is no security in the bank, there is no police in the city, time is stolen by a single gang (besides the rich, of course), and the thief-hero is chased by a single smart agent, whose fate, like a polymer, was mediocrely missed.
The acting is very mediocre, as is the film. There is no doubt that Amanda Seyfred acted solely as an ornament, because the creators dressed her in everything exclusively sexy and attractive, forcing the poor girl to run the whole film sprint on studs.
A movie that has no ideas or morals. It begins very well and cheerfully, but ends with nothing, nobody, and nowhere. I didn’t even immediately realize the lack of a logical ending, because I was just glad that the film was finally over.
For a great idea
Time refers to a rare category of movies that can be viewed multiple times. It helps the viewer to understand several important issues.
1. One of them is the time of your life. What is it worth to direct the potential of your embodiment, how to competently manage your resources? These resources are the genes given to us by our ancestors – parents, and them – their parents, etc., and the qualities of our essence, developed in past incarnations.
2. And the second question related to the first is: what kind of social system will the younger generation, our descendants, inherit? What future are we building? Whether it is a hidden or overt slavery, or whether it is a just system without parasitic niches. Our ancestors had such a system, and it existed on Earth for over 500,000 years, until the virus of parasitism penetrated here.
The film makes a vivid impression and allows you to understand these issues, but awareness without subsequent purposeful consolidation in consistent reasonable responsible actions, without appropriate changes in your lifestyle, the daily routine will remain just an impression, the brightness of which will soon fade.
In many heroic films, the characters often have the qualities of villains, act inappropriate methods and solve problems alone. The reality is different. In fact, the social system is formed by each individual and depends on each person what it will be.
No matter who sees this film, everyone translates it into a life course.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), I only watched this film on 30.01.16, i.e. 5 years later.
Then I watched the replay the next day, and the sociality became even greater.
Friends, it's all vital. Everyone spends time making money!
You're not telling me?
Ha!
What do you get when you make money? Right! Time, free time for rest!
When you are met by bandits on the road, what do they take away from you? Money? Phone? Life? Nothing like that! Time! To make money, you have to spend time... It's talented...
Talentedly created, talentedly played by the actors (although the scene where Will and his Mother, looked very comical, because the known fact that she is younger than 3 years, and they really laughed, just mocked – it was obvious).
But! I summed up the script, there are so many paths, so many threads ... you could shoot another 100,500 parts, or create a series, and it was all just sold out and eaten by a grateful population.
Unfortunately, the writers-directors went the other way, they started the film, and ended up where they started, raising the title of the main character.
Although it was really possible to stretch and overplay, it was possible to send the hero in search of the destruction of genetic modification, and bring back ordinary life ... or something in this genre ... but ... it all turned out that way.
My scores:
10 out of 10 for the idea
9 out of 10 for implementation
3 out of 10 for script
7 out of 10 for actors (well, Cillian Murphy was not very convincing, he looks older)
And the whole movie was decent, even worthy of watching with friends to look at their reaction . . . for me it was all wild.
Spherical film in the vacuum IV — On times, o trades
Many science fiction films are positioned as a possible future or alternative present. This picture is not one of them. Such a movie can not be perceived as a full-fledged, but only as a spherical absurdity in a vacuum.
Minimization and centralization of the world. Forgetting about the differences between peoples and the size of the planet, the authors have created a cinematic universe in which everyone lives according to the American order, and the United States is the world center where all major events take place.
Maximizing the problem. They single out a narrow list of spheres of life and related problems, completely silent about the rest.
A few of the questions that came up during the review:
How did people develop biotechnology to the level of immortality, but remained technically weak?
Why is there technological progress? There are no mobile phones, no Internet, no TV, no radio.
Why is the whole world united into a single monetary-time system?
Who cleans the bodies?
Having received an ageless organism, can people in this universe die of hunger or lack of sleep?
Are there wars in this world?
What ever happened in the world? Is he coming together?
Did humans conquer space?
Are there enough resources for immortals?
Are there any protesters against this way of doing things? Maybe there are those who do not agree to be forever young or depend on the clock in the hand.
What happens if a person cuts off his hand with a chronometer?
Why did the time police start hunting the Main Hero, because he did nothing wrong, just got caught?
How long has it been since immortality was invented?
If a person dies, his time is zero. Isn’t this a serious breach of the system?
Let’s assume that the logic in the film has faded into the background or disguised as metaphors and hyperboles. Then let’s put aside critical thinking and evaluate cinema in terms of implementation.
Picture. Not at all catchy - just below average. You can't make a movie with green numbers on your hand. Since the technical process in this universe stood at the level of the 80s plus immortality, the surroundings are appropriate. The setting is dull, monotonous and kind of licked. No devastation, filthy poverty, and ghettos. In addition, the monotony extends to the cast - only a beautiful young man. There is nothing to look at.
Sound. He's here. Musical accompaniment to become a picture. Inconspicuous, discreet and not so frequent.
Game of actors. I don’t think there’s any really dramatic scene in the whole movie. The death of the mother, perhaps, only in content. Death is a tragedy, but GG somehow quickly got away from it. Was there a funeral? And because of the lack of age differences, the topic of incest is very striking. There is no connection between the characters. In short, there is no acting here, there are roles that actors play to a minimum.
Plot. It is not exciting, since it loses touch with reality, exposing the hypertrophied World according to the phraseology “Time is money” as a real and important problem. Well, you can't really empathize with a hero if his trouble is sucked out of his finger. At the same time, the film is silent about other areas of life and the world around the United States. Such a world order is impossible in principle. There are no prerequisites for such a world to appear at all. Too much spherical absurdity. The impossibility of history repels.
Result. The film is based on the story. It's bad, it's bad. The movie's bad! The first criteria do not draw the film. I saw and did not perceive what was happening at all plausibly. It's a boring and sad sight.
What does this film teach you?
Nothing! At all. Having learned the background of the World, GG did not even scratch, mentioned everything in a conversation with a friend. He did not even want to avenge the system for the ridiculous death of his mother and the general injustice. If the bandits didn't deprive him of money, he'd be a spender. A stupid film without morals and a logical foundation.
Such a spectacle can only appeal to the most unbiased viewer. Or maybe Timberlake fans. For the spherical absurdity
