I watched a disgusted movie last night. This alone has created a persistent sense of prejudice. But the hope, but the fact that the artistic properties of the painting would shake him, existed. Alas, whether a political order, or a holy desire to share love for the Motherland, or nostalgia for the glorious past, or perhaps all together, did not allow, in my opinion, to achieve the goal set. Moreover, the beautiful hockey itself was sacrificed as a combination, improvisational game, which can be shown in the cinema only on general plans. In the film, the abundance of medium and close-up plans, hence the power techniques flying into the gate of the puck, that is, everything that is not so interesting, but how emotional! The average viewer, to whom I count myself, knew little, especially at that time, about the players and coaches, about their relationships in life and in training. Hockey was loved for the beauty of improvisation by our guys.
One of the failures of the film in the choice of actors for the main roles. Kozlovsky is as far and outwardly and temperamentally from Kharlamov as Menshikov is from Tarasov. Menshikov was generally brought from “Weary of the Sun” mimicking, it seems, only a knitted cap. Incredible template of the script - in the Spanish prologue, an analogy of the stupid aggressiveness of bulls and Canadian professionals, uncle-torreador and Kharlamov himself is immediately foreseen. And what is the "magical" connection of the coach with the twig and his ward during a Canadian match with the stupid obsession of editing interruptions of scenes!? And felt wigs of Canadian professionals, not getting wet with sweat!?
Listing all the shortcomings, alas, can give the opposite effect. A greater charge of patriotism than that victory, presented to us live, can hardly give any movie. Such a movie tries to instill “hurrah-patriotism”, which will not allow standing up to applaud not OUR, who showed the beauty of this courageous game.
Still, I can not thank the creators of the film for a short return to the time of gushing emotions and tears of delight and pride!

I am fascinated by sports and its history, and I have lived with the councils. Back in the spring, I wanted to see this, but my colleagues in pain talked me out, very specifically * Do you not know who was the main consultant? there is no gram of truth there! Only the consultant's dad is stressed out on the foreground - and nothing else.
But yesterday, they showed me on TV and decided to study it. It turned out that people told me very correctly. I've never seen a lie like that in Hollywood. Moreover, I did not remember all the distorted facts, but immediately there was a feeling of "sweetheart". Refresh memories with a couple of articles - so it is
What Chebarkul? Affertors in the course that it is listed only since the beginning of 50 years? And already an industrial-type giant with its airport and hockey team!
Kharlamov’s mother is NOT Spanish, but a Bascon, for such a blunder in Spain, you could get on the horns of that bull.
further go-I'm not saying that all except Tarasov and Kharlamov are bred who are generally as hamadryls unafraid (like Phil Esposito, here many wrote about it-and meanwhile this is a brilliant hockey player who has a direct relationship to Russia-his late daughter was married to our hockey player Selivanov, and Phil was always engaged in grandchildren and helped a young family-it was probably nice to see him, Whom he sees in our country), or losers like the great Bobrov, Mayorov, Petrov, and the powerful Kharzov, who suffer from far away / May.
And most importantly, the injury in the first car accident was not before the super League with the Canadians, but in 76, and not because of internal suffering Kharlamov returned from guests with his wife. With which it was really not all OK-and met not romantically-at the tram, and, sorry-in a tavern. And after the death of Kharlamov, the children were engaged in the mother of his wife, and not herself for some reason.
What do we have in the dry residue? biographical this film is not, for the above reasons.
History of hockey and countries, for the same reasons. So what is it? I will add that killed the game in the principle of respectable me Menshikov. it was immediately clear that this is not his role, but just so much.
As soon as this masterpiece came out, it was announced at the highest level that something similar to Yashin would be filmed. He was asked to be his current wife. And according to the first information, she flatly refused. Thank you so much to the woman. May God not be proud to win, and that is the risk of state money again to be inflated into something.
I heard a lot about the movie and finally saw it. The film is good and most importantly - soulful, lively, emotional! It makes us believe in what is happening on screen and be proud for our guys, for our country. Thank you to the creators! It is amazing that such complex moments as the historical atmosphere of the film, mass scenes and playing in the stadium with Canadians are successfully recreated. Compared to another iconic film about Vysotsky, which was not on top in this regard, Legend N17 already with the release on the screen has become, in my opinion, a film event and a film legend!
The cast, extras, camera group - all worked to the fullest. It is clear that Spain and bullfighting are used in the film not only as exotic, but also as an artistic device, an allegory to enhance the effect of confrontation with Canadian professional bulls. Although probably Spanish roots played a role in the dynamic character of Kharlamov and this for me, for example, was an additional and bright highlight in the film.
To be honest, I don’t like Russian films. I would never have seen this movie if it wasn’t for my parents who put it on TV. I don't know anything about hockey and I don't know anything about Valeria Kharlamov. I didn't know. And what's most interesting about my "I don't like," "I don't understand," and "I don't know," is that this movie that brought it all together really hooked me. I got so hooked that while there was an advertisement, I was already googling with all my might about the famous hockey player in question.
What catches me at once and specifically is that the unshakable Soviet spirit that made people heroes brought to the film very clearly. I really liked the cast that played the acting roles.
That seems to show the events of days long past, like the outcome you already know, well, or guess, but from events so intense and energetic unreal heart yawning and sweating palms. It's like you're there and you're going through all these moments yourself. At that moment, when Valera is blown by a Canadian, and given the fact that he was already injured, my mother and I were in one voice. I guess I'm not the only one who gets emotional.
A little not happy with the departure from real events, who is not lazy to read the history of the life of a hockey player, he will understand, but on the other hand, there is nothing to complain about.

It's too late to write a review. I want to write about the film.
I'll come from afar as always.
Our domestic films have always been distinguished by their sincerity, patriotism, kindness and will to win. Victory in all its meanings and manifestations. Often, tears come to your eyes when you watch “Cranes are flying”, “Only old people go to battle”, “Moscow does not believe in tears”, etc.
The current film requires box office fees. The movie is different, the viewer has a choice. Accordingly, it should attract the bulk of the population. Unfortunately, this is the prostate of the plot.
The film “Legend N17” for me has the features of the old “Soviet cinema”, which pushes the viewer to accomplish great things, to believe in themselves, in their own strength. He is proud of the courage and perseverance of the people. He inspires faith in himself and in himself. Maybe this movie got in the mood, but I almost teared - sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, at the moments when Kharlamov was walking to his goal, when through pain came to meet his dream in the match with the Canadians. Especially hooked the moment when on the ice he is specially injured already sore leg, he remembers (the director shows us the footage from the beginning of the film) as the first coach of Tarasov (who brought up fighters and was treacherously removed from his victory) shouted “Protect the gates as your Motherland protect, as your children – protect!!!!” (Crying again)
Bribes the quality of the film, in my opinion, impeccable acting, accurate cast and brilliant creators.
In my opinion, this is one that, at least, is not ashamed to show the younger generation. And if you lost your hands, I think this film will open a second wind in you. Who hasn't seen it, good viewing!
I saw this movie in the theater. I’ve been watching this movie for 150 years.
I have never seen this in the history of Russian cinema. I don’t like Russian movies, but because I was excited by this one, it taught me not to convey it.
I am very proud of the history of my country. Hockey players and coaches have someone to look up to. Valery Kharlamov and Tarasov an example!
Danila Kozlovsky, oh, already so native and so beloved. What an actor he is, how he played, how he conveyed all the pain and joy. He showed me how to give in to his work in terms of acting. In my opinion, the role of such a great hockey player as Valery Kharlamov is very difficult. But Danila managed to do everything 100%.
Oleg Menshchikov. An amazing actor. Tarasov looks like. For me, he was exactly the same loving, fair Tarasov.
I would like to thank the entire cast. Thank you for the emotions in the film, for every moment of this film.
I also cannot help but note that when the USSR-Canada national team started playing, the Russian anthem sounds, the hall stood up, the hall was worried, worried as if they were watching live TV. And then you realize that Russia is a very friendly country, no matter what anyone says. Yes, it is not without problems, but what a rich history it has. At that moment in the hall I had tears of happiness for patriotism and for the rapprochement of the Russian people. Where, where, and in sports we will always be the first.
Watch this movie and you will be proud to live in a country like Russia. I am proud, although I want to leave, but this is my homeland, and this is a place where everyone seems to me a native person when I just hear Russian speech!

You can give a lot of quite fair and not very reproaches about the reliability and plausibility and just technical, but ... do not want.
The film is not about the fact that “our won!” without duty “but at what cost!”. It's about defeating your main enemy - self. It is much easier to do (or at least realize your victory or defeat) when there is a clear external enemy. Those who refuse such a victory were also shown in the film. As well as those who hinder it. And they are not so much in the higher echelons as around and within us. A lot less of those who help to win (both close and strict coach did it in different ways).
Of course, you want us to win (albeit in the past). Especially with the power and ability of . It’s even better to have more b over yourself, yourself and yourself than (y) others. Victory in general is a pleasant thing, but the main thing is not victory, but participation. That doesn’t mean that winning isn’t important – at all! Without it, there will be none.
The refrain of the film is the phrase from the lips of different people: "It is up to you to decide (what) you can or not". So decide, on the Kharlamovs don't hope - don't flatten yourself .
Bangling cranberries on the theme of the main Russian sport.
Hockey for Russia is more than just a sport. It is much more suited to the role of a unifying national symbol than any Gundaia, besides, unlike the latter, it does not promote stupidity and does not degrade human dignity, but, on the contrary, elevates it.
The more unpleasant it was to watch the caricature of this wonderful sport and the people who made it famous in the film Legend N17.
The great coach Anatoly Tarasov appears in the film not the man who actually invented Soviet hockey, but a fool who only yells at athletes and exposes them to all sorts of bullying. And this is a man whom his colleagues called a “theorist” for his extensive and deep knowledge and innovative approach to training. Soviet hockey, who does not remember, has always been distinguished by a combination game, a high level of interaction between players, perfect tactics. Where such tactics and such a game can come from a dubolom coach who is interested only in physical training is unclear.
But the motivation for such an image of Tarasov becomes quite clear, it is worth looking at the main villain in the film. As such, a (by the way, completely fictional) worker of the Central Committee, a liberal-sixties, criticizing Stalin’s methods of management, was withdrawn. So, under the guise of a sports film, we are being tried to feed rot about Stalin’s “effective management” and the harmfulness of any other approach to management. The subordinate should love the boss the more he was subjected to bullying and mockery, because the formation of professional skills, it turns out, is best promoted not by training, but by sitting on a bench and shooting pucks. Execution and shooting as synonyms of effective management - does it remind anything?
In the end, the film extols the blind submission of a tyranny that possesses a secret and inaccessible mere mortal knowledge. Tarasov, performed by Menshikov, first tortures hockey players, and then draws kabbalistic signs with a twig on the night asphalt, and athletes begin to work miracles on the square 6d. It is very funny in this regard that the evening in Montreal (GMT -5), Moscow (GMT +3) and Chebarkul (GMT +5) occurs simultaneously. It's even cooler than summertime in winter.
The treatment of facts by the filmmakers is very frivolous. And, if the appearance of the hero in 1969 "Volga" GAZ-24, produced since 1970, can be considered a trifle, then the match of the USSR national team against Spartak is an outright stupidity.
Biographical facts from Kharlamov’s life are taken genuine, but then they are finely stitched and mixed to please the script. So, for example, Kharlamov received a blow with a stick on the leg not in the first, but already in the sixth match of the super series, and he came out on the ice “through inability” already in the seventh. The car accident happened much later.
Canadians... Oh, yeah! I last saw such representatives of North America in the Soviet action movie “Single Swimming”. Big rags with skewed faces and stupid wigs. Are these chewing gum rude and stupid animals – those great Canadians, playing with whom was a cherished dream and almost the meaning of the lives of the main characters of the film? A worthy dream, nothing to say.
By the way, an interesting pattern: the Canadians did not suffer from the lack of games with the Russians, they felt the best in the world and so on. It was our Olympic gold and World Cup gold that seemed not precious enough without a fight with NHL professionals. What is it but a sense of inferiority? But the authors of the film do not even notice this, and seriously offer the viewer to rejoice that our champions have finally grown to get elbows in the face and sticks on the legs from gorilla-like pseudo-Canadians.
As a result, patriotic pathos turns into fart, because you can not at the same time belittle your rivals and expose them as morons.
The love line in the film is incredibly template, the performer of the main female role looks forty and plays like on a children's morning on January 1.
The only thing that pleased the film was the shooting of hockey matches. Although some visual solutions give bekmambetovskoy, the spectacle is exciting, and you do not want to break away from the screen.
In the dry remnant, we have another pseudo-patriotic pseudo-epos, from the creeping seams of which a sense of one’s own inferiority climbs.
- Tell me, is it true that all your players were promised to be sent to Siberia if they lost? So why talk about losing right away?
If you do not know the true history of hockey player Kharlamov, but you like the genres of biography and sports, then perhaps you will like the film very much. There is nothing terrible in the fact that the events in the film are mixed and slightly do not correspond to the timeline, and life in a few years is compressed into two hours and from here is oversaturated with events. After all, the main thing is that the film carries a clear message, the necessary energy and makes you compare again, as it was then and now. You can make a discount on inconsistencies - after all, this is a legend.
I wanted to see a piece of the USSR-Canada superseries match in this film, so I didn’t expect anything special from the melodramatic events that took place before. I did, except that these events surprised me a little. There was no sex in the USSR. This is a well-known and long-exploited fun fact. However, Soviet people, not burdened with marriage, knew how to spend time in bed not only together, but also four. Well, without a naked nature, it really does not.
Now for the match itself. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to see. The combinations accompanying the scored washers were reproduced on old films quite predictably. There was nothing else to be happy about. The camera was constantly distracted from hockey players, riding mostly in unsightly angles, on the audience sitting in apartments and other checkpoints, on the coach wandering on a dark court, on the Spanish bulls and bullfighter. In general, no pleasure.
What's left after watching? Regret that there was once a great country, great hockey players. Where did it all go? Sold out. The most terrible thing is the last defeat that the Americans inflicted on us by throwing eight goals to us, the current world champions, to which we answered only three times. And if the president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation says that nothing terrible happened, then perhaps something is wrong. In any case, the Olympics in Sochi will show, but it will be too late.

I didn’t want to watch this movie because I’m not a fan of sports movies. However, the opinions of my friends about this film were very different, from puppy delight to spitting and obscene language. But everything in order:
Truthfulness:
A film about a real person, about a real event that is remembered by very, very many of the living. At the same time, it's a feature film, and to demand authenticity from it is foolish - it will be boring to watch. From what I have heard and read, only events are real, and the dates and characters of some characters are changed to the detriment of reality and in favor of cinema.
Acting and directing:
The actors were very good, it would probably not be better. They played very well, reliably, during the viewing there was no doubt about the reality of what was happening, in other words, there was no playfulness, everything is very vivid. The director also tried - all scenes brought to mind, play scenes thought out to the smallest detail.
Operational work:
I'm just going to sit here in mute admiration. I've always been amazed at the ability of people to shoot beautifully, but here ...
What happened:
The film turned out to be very beautiful, dynamic, bright, memorable, patriotic. Even if you know how it will end, you start cheering for our team. The only thing you can get behind is historical authenticity. It wasn’t really that way, at least not quite. But I repeat, for an artistic film about a real person, this is forgivable and, in my opinion, it is necessary, because the story can be seen in a documentary, and a beautiful fairy tale about a real person is much more interesting to watch than just a beautiful fairy tale.
Result:
In short, look, love, rejoice. For those who don’t like sports movies, watch them too. For those who do not like Russian cinema, watch it with matches in their eyes.

For the Sport category, I had the film Against the Current, about Australian swimmer Anthony Fingleton and his brother. He has the title of pride of the nation, but within the framework of the global scale, the figure is still not bright enough, so I decided to watch the loud premiere of this year – a Russian biopic about the legend of hockey. I was called to the cinema for company to look at Danila Kozlovsky, but I am not a fan of sports dramas and I am not a fan of this sport, so I did not go. But even a person as far away from the world of hockey as I have heard the name Kharlamov. And now I know what he does.
But there's a very important nuance here. About the real merits of Valery I told more Wikipedia after watching than the tape of Nikolai Lebedev. If we consider cinema as a sports drama, it turned out interesting and spectacular. But in biopics you need absolute accuracy of facts, like in a Swiss watch. And here it was not, so the tape is only partially based on the real life of the legendary striker CSKA. Some facts were still present, but they were slightly corrected, as they say, for a red word. This is evident literally from the first episode with the bull. Of course, I will not argue that this did not happen at all. Perhaps in the Kharlamov family there is such a story for guests, but I have little faith in it, as well as in cable climbing.
In general, don't take it personally. The creators decided to make a universal product not only for hockey fans, but also for ordinary viewers who are not interested in sports, so we were shown a standard success story of a promising guy to raise the sports spirit and spirit of patriotism, removing unnecessary details from the plot. Still, Kharlamov did not immediately achieve the location of Tarasov and got into the main composition of CSKA. And the final game of the film with Canada actually ended with the victory of the USSR national team with a score of 7:3, which brought Valery even greater international fame. But I still don't understand why they didn't make a more truthful film about an outstanding athlete. Would he be less appreciated and respected if they knew that the Soviet team lost that super series? The love line is completely unnecessary. Romanticization of the main character is very simple. But he had falls sometimes, like any other person.
I liked the movie. For Russian cinema is very good shot. Danila Kozlovsky played well, but I’m subjective because he’s one of my favorite Russian actors. Bravo to Oleg Menshikov for the bright image of the CSKA coach. Thank you for the patriotic atmosphere that makes viewers feel part of one nation. But somehow it looks more like the story of a fictional namesake than a biopic. By the way, the age qualification of +6 and the naked ass of Kozlovsky in the soul, in my opinion, are not very combined.

Man, how was it possible to spoil a film in the genre of sports drama, and even based on real events!? They distorted historical facts, created a disgusting plot and call this creation a breakthrough of Russian cinema.
From the very beginning, some incredibly stupid scenes begin, which continue to the very credits, and looking at this, people should be breathtaking and create a sense of “breakthrough”? A special drama in the film as if not observed, the action develops so rapidly and so much is not disclosed and not shown, the plot kills everything, could really try and make something worthwhile of such material!
The images of Canadians in the end are just ridiculous, I laughed at it very heartily!
I went to the film because of exclusively laudatory responses in the Internet, I thought, indeed, maybe Russian cinema has shot something good, but alas. I wonder where people are looking. Rating 8.7 on the film search, 22nd place in the list of the best films according to the site. .? WTF???? This is outrageous!
I am not a fan of sports, and I am not a fan of Russian cinema. But I will say with confidence that this film changed my ideas about the above activities. And it is not about the main character, although I will not deny that the choice of Danila Kozlovsky for the role of Kharlamov produces a very positive effect on my perception of the film. Take for example the same "Spirit Less". But here is a completely different story, "Legend N17" picture is more independent of the charm and nobility of actors, familiar and beloved faces here go as a pleasant addition to what is happening.
I'm not going to retell the story, but I'm going to point out what got me personally: Firstly: this is the very beginning of the film, which is firmly connected with the finale, and in principle influenced the formation of the personality of the main character, Second: maybe a worn-out, but trembling story about how to overcome yourself and go to your dream further, Thirdly: the character of Oleg Menshikov is a coach Tarasov, at first causing contradictory feelings, in the end turns out to be a wise teacher, and in many ways similar to the main character. Fourth: An unobtrusive love line that dilutes the plot. And fifth: Hockey! It captures everything from what happens on the ice to the screams of relatives and friends at home in front of the TV.
We are not Spartacus, not Wings, not CSKA. We're the team!
Wow, what an emotion this great super series brought us! Olympic champions, world champions against world leaders of hockey, who consider too low performance in the most titled tournaments. A game that degenerated not just into a confrontation, but into a whole battle, a war for your country, your homeland. All the countries of the world watched how the true leader of world hockey was determined. All titles and titles deserved during the twentieth century were defended. Such a difficult but important victory in the history of the country. But how much effort and effort did this game cost us? Here, in this legend, the truth will show its true side.
The story of Valery Kharlamov, a legend of world hockey, whose two goals in the Super Series could be the last in his career. The story of the difficult life of one man, whose name is familiar to all hockey fans. If it is not you, then I have nothing to talk about. Such a difficult path, but such a well-deserved ending. So surprising that sometimes it seems that the directors have exaggerated a bit, but this is not true. Kharlamov is Emelianenko of mixed martial arts, Klitschko of world boxing, Bjorndalen of the current biathlon. The name we should be proud of and confident in saying he is our human being is our history, our memory.
However, the actors did not cope and could not convey the energy of the time. After all, once it was (and still is) the most important game in the history of hockey, and this is not felt, not paid due attention to the game itself. After all, this is the key moment of the film, when the game is in the sticks of the Soviet players. Cheap tricks, the weak atmosphere of the film do not give enough emotions, from which joy in the soul will flow with tears and settle on the face. But is it worth paying attention to this when the film reveals the story of Legends, his love and family tree? Isn't that worth special attention? Is it possible to close your eyes to everything and look at the fate of Valery Kharlamov through the eyes of Nikolai Lebedev, the director of the film? I think you can.
Endgame. Conclusion. We all dream of one thing - to successfully fulfill our dream and move on to the highest, but how many trials will it cost us? What will it take to get to the top of our dreams? Perhaps someone just has to step over a small puddle, and someone should swim across the whole sea or ocean, but if the dream is worth it, then why not do it?

Honestly, I did not expect anything good from this film, but I promised my wife to watch it with her. I think I'd change my mind. This is the case when my expectations were fully met. The movie isn't even bad. It's raw and nothing. And it’s not even about Russian cinema in general, I think the main problem lies in the quality. A movie for a movie is not necessarily good. It can play poorly actors, it can be stupid and unmotivated plot moves. But the film that is going to be shown in the cinema should be of high quality, at least from a technical point of view. Legend N17 was a time when everything was clear from the start. Since the director, producers and sponsors were known. In Russia, cinema is a business. And very prosaic, not competitive and underdeveloped. It all comes down to using budget funds and speculating on well-known names and images. The film about Kharlamov is uncomfortable and ugly. But this is not a film about Kharlamov, but a very ordinary film material using the image of Kharlamov as a marketing winch. In order not to unfoundedly high this “film”, I will still go deeper and note why I thought that this film was unworthy of a movie distribution.
Visually, Legend 17 is catastrophically implausible. The biopic usually tells about the lives of real people, and one of the tasks of the authors is to reflect that time, that era. However, here we are stuck oversaturated with color, as if drawn from Soviet posters, shots that are difficult to take seriously. The production in the film is also very primitive. This is especially true during a hockey game that I couldn’t even appreciate. The abundance of strange middle plans, which the director uses several times, is depressing. Middle and close-up is the cheapest option, which is hardly suitable for transferring the most powerful hockey confrontation of the twentieth century to the cinema. The choreography itself is also at a very low level. Hockey is a dynamic, fast and diverse game, shown in the film as a tinkering and angular “something”. It is difficult to condemn the actors’ play, because they played according to a flat, clearly hastily written, conjuctural scenario. The plot is simple, ordinary, and also false. Frank intentional chronological substitution destroys all the imaginary “plausibility”, and turns the movie into a blatant hack. Again, I wouldn’t be scolding the film at all if it wasn’t for its release and budget. So far, we are only “playing” in Hollywood, without even trying to make efforts and take risks, as Western professionals do.
Perseverance, self-belief, diligence and wise mentor will lead to the desired goal!
The film is surprisingly well made. It was interesting to watch the development of the story. I am far from hockey and did not know the history of progress and success of the Russian hockey team. To be honest, I have never tried to be interested in this. However, this film is really exciting.
Already after watching, having learned the sad outcome of the fate of the main character, I was very glad that the film did not show extra drama, everything was sustained in the right character. I regarded the film as something independent of reality, because the real prototypes of the characters shown in it are unfamiliar to me. And those characters that were submitted to the viewer for evaluation, fell to my taste. Great willpower, endurance, perseverance, everything causes admiration and approval. And it's very plausible. And from this we can conclude that the performance of the actors was worthy of praise.
As for the filmed story, there are no complaints, on my part. Responsible moments were perfectly outlined, many heart-wrenching episodes are shown truly sincerely. The excerpt from how the whole family of the central hockey player watched the game convulsively and, together with his wife, in warmth and comfort, rejoiced at his success and was saddened by failures.
The main motivation to write a good review was that I absolutely did not expect, after a series of unsuccessful paintings produced by a domestic manufacturer, to see something truly touching and worthy of acquaintance.
I am very calm about Russian kin. As in any film, we have masterpieces and slag. The main problem of Russian cinema is graphics. We don't have our own Weta Digital. And if it is destined to appear, I would like to catch this time.
I don't like hockey. Hockey movies, too. The film was so fiercely advertised that it was nauseous. However, 8.4 on the CP is a good advertisement for a Russian film. But I didn’t go to the movies anyway – it’s scary, suddenly they praised?
Watched a movie at home. I don't regret the big screen. If I was in the cinema, I wouldn’t regret it either. It’s a great Russian movie that hasn’t happened in a long time. A little looked at the West, but it only benefited. Legend N17 is a rare case for Russian cinema, when all the people who worked on the film responsibly approached their work. The director got a good script and washed off after Volkodav. The operator came up with a bunch of interesting angles, and where the imagination was not enough, he snapped at the west. The soundtrack is impossible to listen to separately, but with the film very nothing. I can't understand why Kozlovsky is so high. In my opinion, he plays much better than most actors of his age. Menshov and Menshikov have long proved their talent, but I want to highlight the second: such a good villain in the “Russian cinema” will have to be sought for a long time, and not the fact that the search will end successfully. Even young actors in the twentieth roles play better than most heroes of most Russian films.
Cinema is not without patriotism, only in the good sense of the word. There is a desire to idealize the Soviet people, show the Canadians as fascist invaders (with such manes helmet unnecessarily), show spit on their part in the direction of Soviet hockey players, and in general the whole people. After all the machinations arranged by the enemies, our triumphantly win, without pathos, do not want to spit in the screen, I want to be a little proud of the past reincarnation of his homeland. I'm far from being a patriot. And by the way, the film about Valery Kharlamov. An attempt to create a Soviet superman, an ideal man. Therefore, we are shown how Kharlamov is imperfect, hot-tempered, only one (hockey) on his mind, but stubborn as a bar ... er... bull. He also drinks sometimes and has fun with girls. I was in a movie theater (at the time I was going to see another movie) and I saw a mother send her son to this movie. It's 6+. I think she had to explain a lot to him.
Legend N17 is a film made purely for Russians, which is not ashamed to show abroad. Biography Kharlamov showed not completely, it seems to be preparing a sequel. Ufu, fu, fu...
I watched Legend N17 back in April, but I’m writing my thoughts on the film now, half a year later. The fact is that my attitude to the biopic (what a nasty word!) about V. Kharlamov gradually, but steadily, underwent its changes, evolving from positive to negative, and from negative to sharply negative.
Stage one. On the way out of the cinema, emotions went off the scale - the movie, just like the movie, I liked it. After all, the power of any work of art, I thought, lies in the ability to hook the listener / viewer, emotionally touch him, make him empathize with what he saw / heard. At the time, I had the feeling that Legend was fine with that. For more than two hours, the film kept me in unrelenting tension, and how many times during this time I was upset by the plot drama!
Stage two. Coming home from the cinema, the first thing I rushed to check the facts of the biography of V. Kharlamov (long live Wikipedia) with the cinematic twists and turns. Yes, the work of Nikolai Lebedev emotionally inspired me, but even a cursory comparison of the real biography of the great Soviet hockey player with what is shown on the screen is terrifying – everything is so inaccurate! In my understanding, if you are trying to recreate the film biography of a famous person, then you need to do it in accordance with the truth of the past and all the facts that actually took place. To distort the events, to rearrange it in places with this or that is dishonest, disrespectful, dishonest in relation to the real hero, and the “convincing” arguments that “we did not shoot a biography, but a legend” do not personally convince me, because this is a film about the real historical Kharlamov, does not it?
Stage three is understanding. This is what happens - the pride of Soviet sport Valery Borisovich Kharlamov thoroughly, comprehensively DIFFERED and spoiled!? In fact, if you look without emotion, this is how it is.
Let’s start with the type of on-screen characters, with whether or not they look like real characters. As a spectator, they are trying to convince me that the mega-popular actor Danila Kozlovsky "has a great resemblance" to Valery Kharlamov. What nonsense? Look at the footage of the 70s matches, and you will instantly see that this “similarity” is sucked out of your finger (I think, sucked intentionally, for a reason). Suffice it to say that the 168-centimeter Kharlamov was not tall at all, unlike Kozlovsky, who has a height of 184 cm. Further, anyone who has seen Kharlamov throwing pucks (and I have seen this) will tell you that Valery has always been VERY restrained after goals - compare with the radiant Kozlovsky. (Why lie, because this is an important characteristic of the great hockey player!) They also try to make me believe that Menshikov looks like Tarasov – no, no matter how much the famous actor fills up specially for the shooting. Screen Vsevolod Bobrov, in general, has no resemblance to the real.
However, the creators of the film did more cleverly, simply throwing out of the plot a lot of real persons of that era – hockey players CSKA and the team surrounding Kharlamov. (Please, why, strain and draw others – one is enough.) As a result, there is neither Petrov, nor Mikhailov (who played in the same three with Kharlamov!), nor Maltsev (a real friend of Kharlamov!), nor Yakushev, nor Tretyakov - some hockey players skate in the background, but they are all completely impersonal, except perhaps the mythical Gusev, the whole film showing his broken tooth. Meanwhile, this is a fundamental point: the USSR hockey team won and won titles, precisely as a team, in which there was no cult of one individual, even such a bright one as Valery Kharlamov. N. Lebedev’s film actually imposes the opposite situation on us, forming an almost complete vacuum around the main character. (Lies!) Yes, Kharlamov was a star, but he was a man of the team - the one that is completely absent in the picture.
However, all the facts of the external discrepancy of the heroes pale before the mass of raging, as if from a cornucopia, blunders and absurdities, which to the edges filled Lebedev craftsmanship. One of the most monstrous blunders is the trauma suffered by V. Kharlamov a few years earlier. Gentlemen creators, obviously, it was necessary for you to bring more drama to the only match, albeit so important, snatched from the whole great career of a hockey player. (Typical conjuncture!) What kind of fantasy - "training on the cables of the CHP" - you show us!? (That's bullshit!) What kind of nonsense do you come up with when you shoot a scene where Tarasov puts field players without masks and equipment in the goal (!), and makes the squirrel of them with a hail of pucks!? (Tarasov was a fool, but he did not deliberately destroy his team!) What a hell of a TV show in '72! What plastic seats in the stands! What imaginary goals in the last seconds! Complete nonsense with the match CSKA – “Spartak”, remade in the match of the national team – “Spartak”, with a bonus in the face of Brezhnev. It's all lies, lies, lies. But they lie even in the main, praising the victory of the USSR over Canada, "humbly silent" that the series was just lost. Meanwhile, about the gold, won a little earlier at the Olympic Games in Sapporo, in the film, oddly enough, nothing. But quite a lot (albeit ineptly, glossy) shows the personal life of Valery - his relationship with his future wife Irina, who in the 72nd at the time of the supermatch was just a... 15 years (!).
It seems that it is time to introduce a brand – “Made in Mikhalkov” – and brand them such a vulgarity created under the patronage of “barina”. I don’t like harsh assessments, but I think that Lebedev’s film, in the literal sense of the word, slandered our Valery Kharlamov. Millions were invested in the painting, but at its core it is cheap. I will cite two quotes: 1) "All this is not about Kharlamov. " (c) A. Kolesnikov; 2) "I consider the film "Legend No. 17" cattle - a disgusting, malicious g**n." (c) V. Utkin. That's very accurate.
P.S. I suggest that everyone who reads these lines visit the grave of V. Kharlamov at the Kuntsevo cemetery (on the main alley to the end and to the left) - undoubtedly, the effect of this you will get a hundred times more than from viewing this false "biopic".

Yes, hockey is something we can be proud of on a global level. But looking at the rating of the picture, it seems that not all voters wanted to separate Russian hockey from Russian cinema.
Do you want to talk about the movie?
Personally, I saw a colorful, very technical and very good (and the budget allowed it) cranberries. Neither cold nor hot, moderately sour in moderation sweet. In the best tradition of Hollywood zero.
It's a beautiful subject. But everyone knows we're going to win. So I waited for the presentation of this well-known fact with special chic. I didn't wait. Worse, the script is loose, the tempo is uneven. Then thoughtfully savor an hour of the hero’s life, then for no apparent reason jump over a year. The actual blunders are massive. The love line is flat and predictable as 5 kopecks.
Casting isn't bad. Kozlovsky almost believe, but the dense plume of his roles causes the wrong associations and does not allow you to trust the hero completely. Another five blockbusters, and Danilou is waiting for the fate of one famous Russian actor. The older generation (Menshikov and Menshov) as usual, on top. I do not know Kharlamov’s wife, but Ivanova seemed to me not a good choice.
Direction, picture, makeup, costume - everything is smooth, high-quality. The film's weakest point is how Canadians are presented. Sorry, but even in Hollywood, “bad Russians” are not shown. I don't know whose "find" it is. I hope not the director.
Overall, the movie is good, in the sense that it is much worse. Probably useful (not sure what interesting) it will be for children under 18 years. The story in pictures is correct.
It is also recommended for family viewing. Dad will stretch out on the couch and say, “Yes, there was time!” This will be the culmination of national consciousness. And, by and large, for these moments of pride in the history of my country, I am grateful to the authors of the picture, BUT! On the 80th place of the film in the TOP250 (above almost the entire world of film classics) I look unbearably painful. That's why I put one.
Guys, from now on and forever one of the most favorite films, of which there are few.
The actor for the main role was selected excellent. I will not say that one-on-one with Kharlamov, but very similar. In contrast to the same 'Extra time' filmed earlier.
In one of the reviews I read about dissatisfaction with grainy film. I disagree, absolutely. You can make it better and easier, but it will be different. There won’t be that in the movie!
The picture came out for 2 with a tail of an hour, but this was not enough for me. Probably the only drawback ' Legends' - too fast change of events. Here Valera scores her second puck and immediately becomes famous throughout Mother Russia hockey player. And in the next five minutes, the whole world.
However, I would not have had 5 or 6 hours of this movie! And if we take into account that in Russia good films are shot 1 in 1,000,000, then 10 hours in a row could look at Kozlovsky in skates.
In general,

P.S. Anyone who doesn’t like this movie hasn’t seen it! Or he just doesn't like hockey. And the phrase from the title got into the citation.
I'm writing this review and I think I'm not a fool.
"Legend #17"
The film is praised by everyone who is not lazy. One review is better than the other. Those who know this world worship every minute of the ribbon. In the domestic box office, the film is leading.
What else can I write about here?
Once in a while, “our” (of course, with the support of Channel One) really make good movies.
But if sometimes it turns out exactly Good movies, then Legend #17 is just a good Russian film.
It is Russian: there is a special music, denoting the spark that arose between the characters, and winning melodies, and special tragic music to show how bad or sad the character is. For some reason, here they decided to use grainy film (which is somewhat annoying to the modern eye) and old filming techniques to convey the atmosphere of that time, although it can be done differently and better.
The film has many absurdities, ranging from worthless pathos and playfulness, ending with too obvious computer graphics, and the USSR is generally shown eerily.
Nevertheless, there are a lot of positive aspects: hockey is shot dynamically and interesting for everyone, the last 20 minutes of the film I was really worried, naked women are present, Menshov plays a negative role (which is rare), and Kozlovsky, although he clearly loves to hit cars on the steering wheel and shout at the same time, splashing saliva, once again proves that he is a really good actor.
What can not be said about Menshikov.
In general, a long review came out.
The verdict is, look -- okay, don't look -- it's okay.
So began in Russian cinema a series of films on biographies. Before that, the native creators plowed other fields: comedies, fiction, militants, or based on literary sources popular in Soviet times. But, to put it bluntly, it didn’t get too bad. Whether the creators were weak, or at all “non-Russian nationality”, who had nothing to hide, did not yet understand how to shoot a movie in Russia for Russian audiences. Although the banal answer is certainly there – any movie in Russia is now shot for commercial gain, in the worst case for awards, and not for a grateful viewer with some commercial expectations! I do not want to talk about the pleasure of outstanding people who love cinema at all. If we look for this component in the film, then we go without a doubt not to the Russian picture, but to the American and less often English or French.
But The Legend 17 was somehow an exception!
The film is reminiscent of Soviet cinema - medium and sometimes strong. But these “places” only bring back some forgotten memories, which even after viewing remain vague and fragile. There is no more Soviet cinema, just like hockey. I say this without regret, because the historical choice of the state and the people has been made and it is too early to say that this choice is bad. Hockey really feels bad for me. But if we do not admit that “having a desire to live in a good room, it is necessary to glue the wallpaper in the entire apartment, because cockroaches are worn in the voids under them – or the repair will not be completed.” We can only expect good films after huge changes in the country. But whether they will happen is a political and historical question. But I was distracted - it's time to get back on the rails of review.
The beginning of the film and the question is Chebarkul? Throw out that thread of storytelling and nothing will change. The truth will not be a spectacular scene on the interpipe cable. But it seems that this branch of the history of the “seventeenth legend”, so doubtful for me, was really necessary for the writer and director to form an idea of character, youth, views.
Sound problems. More precisely, with voiceover at the post-production stage, when the voices of the characters are overrecorded, or it turns out that they could have said better than on the set. And for domestic cinema, forgivable and flaws in the plot and even non-coinciding movements of lips and voices on the final sound. We seem to have no such rule – to record the final version on the set and not rewrite the script and individual lines of the characters on the knee, realizing at last that it will sound “stronger”, sitting at the editing about a month before the release. And as was customary in the days of Khrushchev and Brezhnev - to cut, cut, rule and please, and now it is similar. Forgive me for the meticulousness, but I am tired of seeing and hearing actors silently say, for example, “The pizza was not bad, but let’s order potatoes next time”, and we hear “We will defend the honor and dignity of our great country”. Dear creators, decide on the final version of the script before or during filming and do not allow this censorship-relaxed Soviet pofigism in the films that you will then dare to give as an example for several years.
Actors. There are many new faces, but you still get pleasure only from Menshikov ... and you can only really get angry with Menshov. Coincidence? Neither Danila Kozlovsky, the actors who played other hockey players gave me that feeling of the Soviet invincible team. As if there was one goal in the plot - to show that in that team there were only Tarasov and Kharlamov, and the rest of the team, without the right to vote and opinion. None of the senior comrades gave any of the most insignificant advice, did not say a parting word to his young friend in the club and the national team. And this team consisted entirely of Legends, not Kharlamov and nameless comrades. This is a question for writers again.
As if the whole story of life, and not one (!), comes down to only one game - the first in the great series. Let me remind you that 7 games were held in the series and 3 of them were won by the Canadian national team (yeah, not patriotic, but a fact). As if after this game, nothing happened: the myth of the invincible Canadian hockey fell apart, as did hockey itself, and Soviet sport, hoisted with a banner on the body of this giant North American monster, became invincible. Even a statement uttered in such a buffoonish tone seems absurd. I think it was just at this moment that the Western Hemisphere learned that not only the ancestors know how to play their game, but the Americans and Europeans were given a chance to cheer not only for their northern neighbors, but also to discover a new world and edge in sports. And this very edge was drawn by the Soviet team in 1973.
I will not hide that the game scenes pleased and in some places plunged deeply into themselves - although the moments of hacking so clearly ran before my eyes. We have seen this hack with the use of a computer in Bekmambetov’s watches, in the Turkish Gambit – and it seems to me that films are shot, produced, and created special effects for them by about the same people – the handwriting does not change, only the letters in the title and the actors on the screen change. I already hear an approximate answer to my question – “we already have our own style in cinema with elements of computer graphics” – and here I also have nothing to add, except a note of regret. And thank you to the American creators of sports-themed films that the Russians had somewhere to look and because of which they did not fail with another “debut performance”.
But the fact that you can watch this movie and not turn it off in the middle is not a bad fact. Plus, people are given the opportunity to get acquainted in this way with the biographies of bright people in the world of sports. Even just to find out that there were such Tarasov, Kharlamov, Tretiak, Mikhailov is already one step back from the abyss of historical ignorance. And I can advise you to watch this film if you yearn for Russian, correct, strong, similar to the Soviet ... evoking notes of nostalgia. It is not for me to tell you what the quality of the paintings is now. Such pictures that even an average movie like this looks like a masterpiece. The only right decision for you will be yours.
I recently watched this movie. Yes, a good movie according to the patterns and plot rules of modern cinema, i.e. Hollywood. I don’t know why, but I expected more from this movie, probably because it’s about Kharlamov. I don’t know for what, but many moments of the beginning of the film cause boredom, too accentuate not the secondary moments or what? Only, probably for everyone who was born and lived in the USSR, the most memorable moment of the film is the beginning of the game, the faces of the players and the anthem of the USSR. Here the actors played very well, you can see that these people are proud of their country, are determined to defend it with honor in the sports arena. And I myself had this sense of pride in the country, its strength and power that I had as a child. But the game itself is filmed lubricated, you will not understand anything, the trembling and jumping camera, who is where, from where?
Naturally, it was not without spitting into the Soviet system, well, what to do, a mandatory attribute of any Russian film about that time. Therefore, there is an evil and cunning dwarf - a sports official.
The great success of this film in our country is explained by the fact that young people liked a good film for older generations because of nostalgia for the Soviet Union. So the creators of the film as they say hit a finger into the sky.
It is a pity to see the traditions of Soviet cinema finally died, as well as that style of playing the Soviet team, combination and team.
Another attempt to cash in on one of the brands of the great USSR. In this film, Valery Kharlamov and his coach Tarasov were targeted by professionals of the domestic film industry.
It is professionals, otherwise how to explain the presence in the image of a great hockey player of the features inherent in such well-selling characters as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Man of Steel, Hulk, etc.
The commercial strategy of our filmmakers in the future is colossal, because the deposits of Soviet greats are truly inexhaustible.
Unfortunately, this time the creators of the film did not go the traditional way and did not bring the character in full accordance with the original, then hanging on a cable between two vaporizers Valery, sweetly talking with his colleague, would not cause any questions, no one.
Tarasov performed by Oleg Menshchikov is a strange thing, neither does he give the impression of a Soviet person, anything, but not a Soviet one. It does not give the impression of a whole person. At the right time he is tough, cynical, even arrogant, and at the right time soulful and tearful.
I would especially like to note how the film shows the province. It used to be said that most Americans believe that bears walk freely on the streets in Russia and drink vodka with men, but it turns out that in Moscow some people share this opinion.
In general, the film is impressive to get the impression of any other film.
4 out of 10
I don’t know how I feel about the movie. Everything seems good, the main character is very, very similar to his prototype, some details of the Soviet reality are reproduced accurately. But somehow the film went unnoticed to me and did not impress at all. On the contrary, I found it somewhat boring in some places. The final game impressed me. These people who watched hockey in all corners of the country, this tense atmosphere, this desire to defend the gate at all costs, I was really taken over. I watched and sincerely worried about our team, as if I was watching the match and not the movie right now!
And such a sense of pride for our Soviet team appeared. This film is very patriotic and makes you proud of your heroes. Be proud of the Russian people, their patience and endurance. In Soviet times, there were many things that we have not preserved! And the sport, too...
And I really liked Kharlamov’s story, his loyalty to his work, the ability to stand to the end, overcome difficulties, endure pain and hardship. Once again, it is confirmed that talent is not everything, the main thing is the ability to work for victory.
I'll put 7 out of 10 on the movie. Not everything I liked, not everything impressed. But the idea is very interesting!
Once in a few years, a good movie is made in Russia.
I will say right away that I do not like Russian cinema, I will clarify – not Soviet, but Russian. I will also note the fact that I do not like hockey, but this sport and cinema have a common feature - both were better in the USSR.
I was lucky to see the film with my father, who helped me watch it. I avoided Legend N17 in every way I could, although I had heard good reviews of it, but I got to it.
So, back to my father, for whom this film was a youthful excursion, so he had more emotions after the final credits than I did. I was immediately informed that the creators of Legend did not try to transfer the history of those years with 100% accuracy, and only the character traits of the characters were taken as a basis. Therefore, I am surprised by the reviews of all those who refer to inaccuracies in the retelling and some fiction of the writers. You guys are still watching a feature film, not a documentary!
I repeat, I am not interested in hockey at all, but thanks to my father I was quickly introduced to the course of things, yes, and I had heard many stories about the Soviet Union national team before. Therefore, you are reading the opinion of the younger generation, which was positively influenced by the older generation.
A great contribution to the formation of Kharlamov in the virtuoso hockey player was made by the coach of CSKA - Tarasov, whose role was played by Oleg Menshikov. I was surprised by Oleg’s excellent performance! I probably wouldn’t mind seeing him on the Oscar nomination list. And why not?
Separately, I will say about the director - a very talented man (judging by this film), why not move abroad, there are more opportunities to create, and more profitable. Although I probably exalted this film and its creators too much: one Oscar is ready to give, another abroad I match. I just want to say that everyone who was involved in the filming – well done.
The performer of the main role also did not disappoint, did everything that was required of him very well. How do you get it? After all, you had the honor to play such a famous and respected man.
The movie itself looks very good. I liked the association that arises in the thoughts of Valery Kharlamov, associated with bullfighting, which left a mark on the psyche in childhood. Operating work at a high level. Let this movie and there is some pathos, but it is even in the subject in places.
I would also like to mention the secondary characters who give the film a jewelry cut: that alcoholics and police, that doctors, that captain of the team "Star", that family. I didn’t like the fact that politicians were added to the film about sports, but apparently in our time without a government anywhere.
When I told my friends that I was going to go to the movies for a new Russian film, everyone unanimously claimed that I was a risky person, since the Russian audience is not spoiled with high-quality domestic films. And so, just yesterday I came back from the cinema and still can’t shake my astonishment, as I was absolutely delighted with the film. The picture is about an incredibly strong man who has overcome a lot in his amazing life, the legend number 17, Valeria Kharlamov. In my opinion, the film is a must-watch for the younger generation, firstly, to learn more about the legend of Russian hockey, secondly, to see how the character is tempered, how the personality develops, and, thirdly, to feel incredible pride in their country. For example, I was in the cinema with my younger brother, who is now 8 years old, and I am very happy that now Valery Kharlamov is a new hero for him.
Acting in the film at a very decent level. Danila Kozlovsky shows aerobatics, amazingly played, felt, believe him from beginning to end. And just the presence of the actor in the frame gave aesthetic pleasure: Oleg Menshikov. What do you say, actress? With a huge letter. Very colorful characters were Boris Shcherbakov, Vladimir Menshov, Nina Usatova, and in general the cast was selected brilliantly.
What I want to talk about is the humor in the film. Now this phenomenon is quite rare in our films - absolutely naughty, intelligent, healthy humor, which has nothing to do with disposable "comedy", stamped one after another.
But, despite the abundance of witty phrases and all sorts of chips, in the film passions are heated to the limit, a couple of times most of the hall even teared up (female, of course).
And when Canadians stand up and applaud our hockey players who have done the impossible, honestly, goosebumps.
I would also like to note the interesting, high-quality and beautiful shooting.
Still impressed, I can say with confidence that Legend 17 is one of the best domestic films of the last few years. I will wait for the license and see it again. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it, almost sure that you won’t regret the time lost.
10 out of 10
P.S. At the end of the film, the entire cinema hall applauded.
If there is anything more dangerous and ungrateful than writing a not-too-rapturous review of a film that the masses unanimously liked - and moreover, not just liked, but evoked in them a unified patriotic spirit ... oh. Well, at least it's not torture.
Even before Legend N17. Nikolai Lebedev is remembered by people as... a very ambiguous director. His track record includes mediocre fantasy Wolfodav (a not-so-bad film whose flaws are demonized by the book's fans and some video bloggers) and the beautiful Star, the unsuccessful Exile, and the great Passion Phonogram... Even with this list, there is some bewilderment: all these films are shot in completely different, sometimes contradictory aesthetics and style. It is impossible to say for sure which plot the director especially loves, what motives he prefers, what conflicts he mainly puts. What do the TV series “Apostle” and the same “Phonogram of passion” have in common? Except for the director. And, without knowing this fact, and we can assume that these projects were shot by completely different people.
“Legend N17” is not just strikingly different from all previous works of Lebedev (although it is certainly associated with some, at least nostalgic atmosphere) – it sometimes does not resemble itself. Several storylines that differ from each other not only in the atmosphere, but also in the methods of editing and shooting, which would be a very good solution if it were not so contradictory to each other. On the one hand, the claim to realism, on the other – the rain, which begins whenever Kharlamov is sad; the abundance of events, on the one hand, is justified by the biography of Kharlamov himself, and on the other – there are so many of them that the composition and temporism of the film are simply confused. There is nothing wrong with ringed moments and repetition of symbolic scenes for the hero, but it should not look artificially embedded and distracting from the main plot. The plot is sometimes too much, and unconsciously there is a feeling that these are not real events from the life of an athlete, but just the creators wanted to stuff more stamps of sports dramas into their film. It would simply be possible to do without a couple of characters and related storylines.
Nevertheless, despite this flaw (alas, too noticeable to be talked about), the film turned out to be worthy and motivating. Yes, sometimes there is a lack of emotionality and atmosphericity, but these scenes are easily compensated by others - at least a brilliant hockey match and a bullfight scene (I can not agree with the opinion that these scenes spoil the editing). The characters are wonderful as one – and even Balashov came out charming, despite the fact that the writers stubbornly presented his image not as antagonistic, but as simply villainous (another serious disadvantage of the film: replace Balashov with a green goblin – and there will be no difference). The brilliant Tarasov, the best role of Menshikov in the last hell knows how many years, the wonderful parents of Kharlamov, a doctor performed by Nina Usatova, beautiful Canadians are episodic, but surprisingly expressive... A little less pleased young people, but, I must admit, Kozlovsky and Ivanova qualitatively act out the material given to them. In the future, of course, I would like to see more individuality in these guys (especially Kozlovsky, after all, the actor has already earned a name for himself), but this is not a criticism or even a remark – rather, a wish.
However, despite the criticisms outlined above, the popularity of Legend is not surprising. Despite the lousy composition, slurred temporism, sometimes questionable editing and unfair demonization of Balashov, Legend is a work very emotional and motivating; simple in its idea, like a boot, but reasonable and fair. Probably, this is not the film that should be called the best of the released in the last five years, but it is definitely decent and sincere, and these qualities are lacking in most works of domestic cinema.
Everything was overcast and gray,
And the forest stood as inanimate,
It's just a g***omer.
We shook our heads a little. (A. Galich)
The morning is not always wiser than the evening, I did not act wisely when I turned on the TV in the morning, they showed something very tricky: the main Russian judoka with a “thrifty” friend, sometimes performing his duties, when he was not supposed to, surrounded by drunken people – watching a movie. There's already intrigue... Of course, if you were watching “reason”, it would not be covered in the morning news. As a result, Judoist concluded that this is a very good, patriotic movie, and everyone around agreed. But there were those who agreed more than others: one hockey goalkeeper (with a very glorious past), assured that he knew everyone with whom he played (including the main character of the film), as if he plunged into the past, and the wife of the great coach approved the match of the movie prototype to her husband.
For a long time, no one argues with the Judoist in Russia, except that sometimes one of the “bolotniki” will make noise: “Democracy!” – “Freedom to the Rebel Pussies” & #34; “Human Rights!” ... and similar liberal trivialities, dragged even in the “Arab Spring”. It is clear that few people will hear them, except: the one sitting on the trumpet - Red, will remember his youth, and again "proposit" vouchers, or someone like Humpback - again "rebuild."
After viewing:
Where are your wings,
Which ones did I like so much? (Nautilus)
Since childhood, I was fond of sports, including hockey, because of my age, I could not watch Kharlamov and the Union team, but my father told me a lot about it, he colorfully and emotionally as a true fan, painted the events of the famous series and Kharlamov’s bright game in it, his story allowed me to admire the game I did not see.
With the development of the Internet, I had the opportunity to visually admire those ice battles and the virtuosity of Kharlamov, to see his famous slalom-pass between two Canadian “greats”, and on the Internet, those events did not lose their shine.
But what I saw in the film, I was disappointed, this is not the Kharlamov, about whom my father told me, not the Kharlamov, whom I saw in the documentary footage, not the Kharlamov, whose play evoked feelings of pride and enthusiasm, not the one whom I wanted to look up to and admire.
What's wrong?
1. Lies. It's really important not to lie, to tell the truth, to talk to natural intonations. ( I. Bergman )
It is not me who will be the first to notice that many things in the film do not correspond to real events, the chronological order is broken somewhere, the life description itself is very doubtful.
In my opinion, no one derogates from the author’s right to his artistic view of the hero and his life, but if the hero is a true historical person, then his personality and the main events of life must correspond to the basic real facts. In Legend No. 17, this does not happen, with the public availability of information technology, it is easy to make sure even people far from sports.
2. It's not scary to die. It's scary that after death they can make a movie and Pattison will play you.
I think that Valery Kharlamov, if he saw who embodies him in the cinema, was hardly happy. Not only does Kozlovsky not look like Kharlamov externally, so his "acting attempts" - about nothing: instead of Kharlamov - you see "duhless" on skates.
3. A spectacle without bread. Only that which is empty from within thunders. (Shakespeare)
Hockey battles polished, and subjected to computer processing, this should have been enough to feel the “cracking sides”. But the sense of reality of the game itself is lost, the impression is created - as if someone, just knock in the game simulator.
4. I don’t think movies should be made for the sake of viewers, money or popularity. Films, in my opinion, should be made for the sake of beauty, and this, in my opinion, is the best way to be sincere in your work.
Cinema about an outstanding Soviet athlete is good, bad that it is completely licked with American analogues, moreover, in their weakest moments. But it is a pity in Russian cinema, including Soviet cinema, especially if we reject the ideological component found in the latter, there were many good features, there was a certain invisible Russian spirituality in it, which for obvious reasons was absent in Western films. And over the "Legend" - the creators did not think much: they simply reduced it to "idiotic-nauseous-hand-messing", tired of bad American films.
In conclusion,
In my opinion, the success of this film among the audience is due not only to the entertainment, although - and this too, but to the fact that the domestic viewer was tired of foreign "heroes-mans" filling the screens, and wanted to see their heroes - and there is no place to see it, it has already seen various producers, and began to feed the viewer both in cinema and on TV, all sorts of soap from the biographies of domestic celebrities. Anna Herman, Zhukov, Furtseva... that’s Kharlamov’s turn. It is a pity that the great athlete was filmed such a “great” movie.

How much did my friends and sisters recommend Legend N17 to me, and I still could not see this masterpiece. Well, a film about sports, and I do not particularly like sports, especially hockey; in addition, the film is Russian, and recently Russian cinema is not particularly pleased. But I decided and looked at it!
As it turned out, the film was shot on real events - about a real hockey player Valeria Kharlamov. During the tape we see his formation, how he came to fame and how he achieved his dreams.
First of all, I want to say about the cast, and in particular about Oleg Menshikov. Of course, Danila Kozlovsky played a very good role. I believed him every second, the perfect entry into the role. But here Oleg Menshikov conquered me completely and completely. His hero is so smart, strong in character and spirit, collected that it defies explanation. He's posh and his game here is 11 out of 10. A great man!
An incredibly instructive tape that you need to go to your goal, clutching your teeth. The fact that everything in life is not easy, the most expensive should be achieved only by your own efforts, while remaining honest with others and with yourself.
Thank you to my friends for persevering in advising me on Legend N17.
I once again made sure that Russian cinema can, whenever it wants.
To sum up, Legend N17 is an incredibly powerful, instructive, inspiring and empowering film! I advise everyone to watch it without exception, just incredible!
