In 1950, Holm entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1953, and after serving in the army, he began working in the theater. His debut was a tiny role of a spear-bearer in the tragedy “Othello”, but it happened on the stage of the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-upon-Evon.
Then the actor expected a joint world tour with Laurence Olivier, after which there was fruitful work in various British theaters, his first roles on television, his debut performance on Broadway. Finally, the actor was spotted and invited to Hollywood.
