In his early youth, Aidan had to master the profession of a roofer, but at the age of nineteen he tried himself on the stage of one of the Chicago theaters. The attempt was successful, and Aidan entered the Piven Theatre Workshop School in Evanston, where he successfully graduated.
The young actor played his first significant role in the film Reckless, after which he played Dez in the film The Waste Search for Susan. In 1985, NBC aired the television movie An Early Frost featuring Aidan Quinn.
