Hugh Fraser is an English theater and film actor, singer. He was born on 23 October 1945 in London. In 1983, Hugh got his first significant role in the film The Draftsman's Contract. The film was directed by the world-famous Peter Greenaway.
In 1988, Fraser found out that he was looking for an actor for one of the main roles in the series. Not even knowing the name of the project, he went to the screen test. The young actor was immediately noticed, and he, easily beating all the other candidates, got the role of Captain Hastings in the legendary series.
