Elan Armstrong is a talented English actor who has played many roles. Best of all, he managed bright characters, a little crazy and despotic.
Elan, or otherwise Alan, was born in 1946 in County Durham in the northeast of England. His father was a miner. The family was very religious and devout. Interest in acting came to Elan when he began to play in the drama circle of heroes from Shakespeare’s plays. He was only six years old when he played the role of Petruccio in The Taming of the Shrew.

Elan, or otherwise Alan, was born in 1946 in County Durham in the northeast of England. His father was a miner. The family was very religious and devout. Interest in acting came to Elan when he began to play in the drama circle of heroes from Shakespeare’s plays. He was only six years old when he played the role of Petruccio in The Taming of the Shrew.
Elan Armstrong tried several times to enroll in courses at the National Youth Theatre. The obstacle was his strong northern accent. As a result, he went to study at the Faculty of Arts at Newcastle University. But in his second year he was kicked out for low attendance.
Armstrong began his career as an assistant stage manager at the Cambridge Theatre. After that, he went to theater courses and became a participant in several productions on the radio.
In 1979, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he spent nine years. He won an Olivier Award for his role in Sweeney Todd. He had countless theatrical roles, and in 2012 he still continued to play on the stage.
Armstrong made his film debut in 1971.
