Broadway theaters are a special kind of American commercial art. They do not have a permanent repertoire, nor do they have permanent troupes. Becoming a theater actor on Broadway is not very difficult, but losing your job is easier. If the play is not successful with the audience, the troupe simply dissolves. Therefore, actors usually try to find more stable earnings.
Ian McNees began to look for the use of his abilities in cinema. He began acting in 1983. His debut was as Bannerman in Voice Over. Then followed the role in the film “Top Secret!” – parody of so popular in the United States spy thrillers. In Charing Cross Road, 84, he played Bill Humphreys, and in Lonely Passion, Judith Hearn, Bernard Rice. One of his successful works was a role in the television series “Edge of Darkness”. This film has received several prestigious awards.
On the big screen, Ian McNees very successfully played Fulton Greenwall in the film
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls" . The film is comedic and very colorful, as the scene is Africa, in which the protagonist is looking for a sacred animal of one of the tribes. The picture was warmly received by the audience and critics. Ian has a special relationship with Africa. His three sons, Travers, Angus and Maisie, live in Botswana. Studying the local flora and fauna, they wrote the book “Children of the Lion”, published in 2001.
