The Accidental Husband is a television romantic comedy directed by French director Louis Shockett. Even at the earliest stage of the project, which had neither a name nor a formal history, the French TV channel TF1 invited the singer Lori to the main role. The film also starred Alexander Varga and Philip Bas. In addition, Alain Delon (“Adventure Seekers”, “Two in the City”) was invited as a guest star for one shooting day, who played the father of one of the main characters.
The film tells the story of 28-year-old Stephanie Vasseur. Thanks to her talents and determination, a modest provincial from Calais manages to fulfill her dream and become the editor-in-chief of the Paris glossy edition. Having plunged headlong into the turbulent social life of the French capital, she meets a successful lawyer, gallant and charming Gregoire, who soon makes the heroine an offer. It would seem that the real female happiness is already entirely in the hands of Stephanie. However, there is one catch: diligently suppressing her origin, she, among other things, hid from her fiancé the fact that she is still married to Alex, the lover of her youth. In order to quickly correct the awkward situation, Stephanie secretly from Gregoire hastily goes to his native Calais to arrange a divorce there. However, a meeting with Alex and flashing memories make the heroine doubt the correctness of her life choice. close

Giuseppe Rotunno's warm cinematography and the irresistible Lollobrigida make this one worth seeing, while the screenplay (by Ettore Margadonna, Luciana Corda, and Joseph Stefano) manages to be clever without being smirky. Look for a funny bit by Vittorio DeSica, who supervised some scenes, as a loquacious priest. This film is also known as both Anna of Brooklyn and Fast and Sexy. close
