Russian history poses many “cursed” questions about the authorities. Does the Russian peasant need a parliament? Which is better than the present or the royal? For what did the first tyrant of Russia Ivan the Terrible drown in the blood of Novgorod the Great and why did the first Russian President Boris Yeltsin shoot at the White House? Someone says that we are Asians, not capable of knbsp;democracy. Someone — that the people's power on Russia is older than the tsar by six centuries. One hundred years ago, the rumbling of the first revolution appeared on the Russian parliament. The film “Freedom in Russian” is not a celebration of the centenary of democracy in Russia, because no one knows how many years of Russian democracy and whether there is any. This is an attempt to remember the past century in the light of historical parallels. These are ten films about the difficult ways of freedom, a journey into time, a review of European democracies. Interview with politicians and opinions of scientists and ordinary Russian voters. This is the voice of Yuri Shevchuk — a great musician, rooting for Russia. This is the story of our common destiny. close

Author's program Felix Razumovsky from the series of programs "Who are we?"
The cycle was nominated for the TEFI-2007 award.
Felix Razumovski:
... The vast space from the Baltic to the Pacific Ocean, 1/7 part of the world, 10 time zones. This space was, is and will be the main feature of Russia, and therefore its main concern, the main thing, our Great Project.
This is exactly what a Russian person has always been able to do better than others: to develop, cultivate and cultivate the space of his land - the Russian land, Russia. And if we've forgotten all this, out of negligence, it's time to remember. Moreover, there is something to remember, because it is no accident that a Russian man was on the Pacific coast and even in Fort Ross in California.
Russian history can be described as a 1,000-year test of space. It, space, beckoned, fascinated and inspired the Russian people. It formed the Russian soul and the Russian character; the Russian culture.
The concept of “Russian land” appeared before the Russian state. Of course, in the future, the state learned to use the Russian thirst for space for its own purposes. And yet, even in the days of the Empire, the expansion of state borders did not become an expansion for the Russians. Not without reason at the end of the nineteenth century there was the notorious problem of “the decline of the center”. In other words, the “metropolis” has not been enriched, namely, ruined by the accession of more and more territories. What kind of “colonial empire” or “prison of nations” can we talk about in such a situation? This blatant lie is easily refuted by historical reality itself, in particular by the fact that between 1864 and 1905 there was not a single major uprising of the non-Russian population in the country.
Of course, there is everything in the spatial portrait of Russian civilization, including the “black paint”, but there is not much of it. Most often, the Russians were worthy of their great gift of space exploration. And only in Soviet times, under the influence of Soviet ideology, this gift turned into its opposite: the development and spiritualization of space was replaced by its dehumanization and simply desolation.
It's a place like this that gives you hopelessness. The mutilated landscape of the Russian land has the most negative impact on public consciousness. The nation is in an era of deep depression. It is not about economic and life difficulties, not just about them. The connection of time broke down, the main spatial connections broke down. The image of the Russian land – the spatial expression of the national idea – has been lost.
Without restoring this image, we will not succeed. Of course, this does not cancel all sorts of “subject projects” in the economic sphere. However, it is impossible to implement these projects on the scale of a huge country, leaving to the mercy of fate the destroyed national identity, which, due to the peculiarities of our culture, is not ethnic, but spatial in nature. Space, the Russian land – this is what motivates us to create, ensures the unity of Russia and the integration of various people into the Russian nation. close

As part of the Baku Mysteries series, its author and presenter Fuad Akhundov opens the veil over one of the most interesting periods of the life of the city of Baku - the end of the XIX and the beginning of the XX century.
F. Akhundov plans to tell about the brightest milestones in the life of outstanding personalities of Baku. According to the presenter, "the Baku Mysteries program is intended for both Baku residents and people who are far beyond its borders, but do not lose their warm attitude to this city."
Even the studio of the TV project was decorated in the spirit of the time in question. Unusual scenery of the artist Mirteimur, as best as possible reveal the idea of the program. So, under the oldest Baku symbol there are two lions guarding the bull under the sun and the moon - these are the fortress walls guarding the city day and night. Moreover, if you look at each individual “stone” of the stone wall, you can see ancient archival photographs that capture a particular scene, a view of Baku or a person famous in his time in the city.
It should be noted that the Archival Administration of the country, in particular the Central National Archive of Film and Photo Documents, provided enormous assistance to the project. The navigator in the virtual navigation on the waves of Baku history, as F. Akhundov himself notes, was the book by Sh. Fatullayev “Architectural Encyclopedia of Baku”.
In the program, F. Akhundov touched on the theme of the bloody March events of 1918 in Baku, when the Dashnaks destroyed and looted, among other sights of Baku, and the house of the oilman Asadullayev.
A special place in the program "Baku secrets" was given to the granddaughter of the oil producer Umbulbani Asadullayeva, known later as a writer who lived in Paris. Banin, as everyone called her, is the author of the famous historical story “Caucasian Days”.
At the end of the program, the author and presenter Fuad Akhundov expressed hope that the Baku Secrets series would not end there. According to him, the program "Baku secrets" will reflect thematic programs dedicated to health, medicine, education, sports, etc. close
