Andrei Andreyevich Voznesensky was born on May 12, 1933 in the capital of the then Soviet Union. His father Andrey Nikolaevich was a participant in the construction of the Bratskaya HPP, and his mother Antonina Sergeevna was a housewife.
Andrei began to write poetry at school, Boris Pasternak knew well about this, who received his first pen samples as a poet by mail from a fourteen-year-old boy.
After school, Andrei entered the architectural institute in Moscow and graduated in 1957, having received an architectural education. But the young architect did not even dream of anything else but to express himself in poetry. His first works began to appear in various magazines since 1958. And the poem “The Master” (1959) made him famous among millions of fans of poetry. His rhythm decisively broke its course in the poetic space of modern poetry. This breakthrough was received with dignity by Pasternak, crowds of fans of the young poet filled the hall of the Polytechnic Museum, stadiums, when his poetry evenings were held. Millions and millions of Soviet young men and women quoted passages of his poems. He became a true idol of the youth of the 60s! Collections of his works instantly disappeared from the shelves of stores, the country was a mass “samizdat” of his poems, people copied from each other his creations. During his poetic procession, more than 2 dozen collections of prose and poems were created. It was published and republished, in the mid-80s was released first 3-volume, and then - 5-volume of his works. By 2011, 90 of his collections of poems and prose were published, including “Foremen of the Spirit” (1984), “White Sweater” (2002), “Centaurs” (2003), “Antimirs” (1974), “Vidioms” (1992), “Stradivars of Compassion” (1999) and much more.
The cycle of “Antimir”, with which Vysotsky came out to the public, was staged in the Taganka Theater. There came the play “Take care of your faces”, immediately removed from performance. The rock opera "Juno and Avos" to the music of Alexei Rybnikov, in which Karachentsov sang, is staged in Lenkom to this day, it has spread throughout all the stages of the country, went to the stages of foreign theaters.
From the pen of Voznesensky came a huge number of modern popular songs and romances to the music of modern composers.
Let’s not mention his well-deserved regalia – there are a lot of them, and most importantly, after his death in Moscow on June 1, 2010, he is remembered, his poems are read, and he remains an idol of millions!
