The future favorite of the public was born in 1934 in the family of doctors Mane Moiseevich and Raisa Yakovlevna, who worked at that time in the city of Tomashpol, Vinnytsia region. However, to give birth to a little Misha Raisa Yakovlevna came to her hometown - Odessa. After returning from Central Asia, where the Zhvanetsky family was evacuated during the war, Mikhail entered the Odessa Institute of Marine Engineers. In his student years, Zhvanetsky was paired with his classmate, a future colleague on the stage.
Roman Kartsev , and Zhvanetsky focused mainly on writing humorous miniatures for the duo Ilchenko and Kartsev, only occasionally performing some of them themselves.
