For many, this was a feat, because Quentin’s films have always been distinguished by a large amount of blood, here cruelty is elevated to a certain limit, fake blood is poured on the screen in the best traditions of Hong Kong cinema.
At the same time, this cruelty is perceived by the modern generation quite calmly, not even thanks to vaccinations from watching “saw-183” and a similar genre, but because all the violence in Tarantino is not quite serious, in the middle of a fight against a couple of hundred samurai, the Bride allows herself to slap on the soft spot of the failed opponent, and then again begin to chop legs and heads left and right. And at the same time, unlike numerous militants and horror films, murder and blood here, as later in “Sin City” of Tarantino’s friend Robert Rodriguez, is part of a quite clear aesthetic system of the world.
The viewer is only fascinated to watch the show that plays in front of him the director and his actors. Perhaps this is the genius of Quentin Tarantino.
