From the life of puppets After watching the second “Avengers” it becomes immediately clear why the studio no longer needs the services of director Joss Whedon, changes the composition of the writers and is now forced to get out of the mess in which the popular serialist threw the characters in narrow circles. I don’t know why I was so lucky with the first movies. How the first "Avengers" were the standard of perfection, team dynamics, plot elaboration and sparkling action. The second film nervously tries to sit on two chairs: to crumble bows of the first part and at the same time keep as much distance from it as possible.
What was the best thing about The Avengers? The most magnificent scene without editing glues, when the action jumps from one hero to another, masterfully turning a rich brew into a visual feast. The second film opens in the same way, only in the snows of a certain European country, where Baron Von Strucker (dubbed Strucker or something...) is experimenting on mutant humans and Loki’s staff, which is built into another of the Infinity Stones (you follow the General Plot of the entire Marvel Universe from Iron Man to Thor and others? Otherwise, in the third Avengers, you will not understand a single ounce of what is happening. You can make a lyrical retreat and generally say that the dubbing of “Avengers 2” is not worse. Ultron from the word "ULTRA" turned into Ultron (apparently from the word "Alternative"), Mercury became a Skorokhod, and Von Strucker - you heard, yes.
Yes, there is a lot of inventive action in the film: the battle of the Hulk with the Hulkbuster (a special armor of Iron Man), the jump of the Black Widow on a motorcycle, the abilities of the Scarlet Witch and her speed brother (yes, he was also more effective in recent X-Men), the lifting of a large piece of the whole country into the air, literally. However, all this still boils down to the wildest self-repeat of the battle with Chitauri from Part 1. All copies of Ultron are no different from those mechanical aliens. Here's Cap saving civilians on the roads, here they hide them in hiding and all that from act to act from the moment the main villain appeared, who in fact - just the main "chitauri" with the intelligence of Skynet - created to protect humanity artificial intelligence decides that the main enemy of people - attention (!) - humanity itself. The motivation of the children’s morning, long outdated, is inferior even to “just bad Loki” and a bunch of even more unworked comic-book villains from different films. A sketch from the life of puppets, one of whom rebelled, but became Karabas.
But we must give credit to the second “Avengers”, as well as the first, it’s still the Avengers, it’s a team, and not “Iron Man and the dancer” – which everyone feared from the first part and strongly feared from the second (and now from the upcoming “Captain America 3” [and don’t care about the cowardly Russian name of this franchise about Cap, for locALLizers from Russia long ago in Hell prepared separate boilers!], where Stark is destined for an extremely important role). A lot of attention is paid to the Hulk, the Black Widow, and we'll see the Clint family, and even Tony Stark's new thinking horizons. As for the new characters, Gemini turned out well, the most beautiful of the Olsen sisters is a real find for any film, and here the Scarlet Witch is truly the main diamond. But the fact that finally let Paul Bettany, who always voiced Jarvis, to forget simply impossible. For the sake of Vision, it is really worth watching this sequel.
The Avengers 2 visual can be scolded and praised at the same time. Many scenes can boast of colorful camera work, but the battle of the Hulk with the Hulkbuster is just a set of endless tinkering and shaking, as if you are watching a documentary from the scenes, and not a blockbuster movie.
Whedon the first "Avengers" spawned the greatest comic book movie of all time, and the sequel nearly destroyed it. No, "Avengers 2" is not a bad movie at all, but it is entertainment for 1 time. This is better than the ridiculous “The Incredible Hulk”, but many times weaker than the first “Captain America” and the second parts of “Iron Man” and “Thor”.
Events of “the Avengers” and, for example, the second “Captain” vividly influenced the fate of the world. The world after Chitauri, the world without S.H.I.E.L.D., and so on. The second "Avengers" is a piece that can be safely cut. Even the post-credits scene here actually copies the same thing as after the credits of the first part. After the first "Avengers", it seems quite possible to move on to the third, bypassing the second, as an unfortunate variation on the theme. But at the same time, the film still has everything that a good blockbuster needs: pathetic speeches, a militant spectacle, fascinating dynamics (and no matter how secondary), saving children, the triumph of justice and even intra-team conflicts, than the second part, perhaps, is really interesting.
If you are waiting for the next “just blockbuster” and go to everything from “Ender’s Game” to “Edge of the Future”, then “Ultron’s Era” is quite capable of satisfying all or just most of the audience’s requests. If, for you, comic books, especially from Marvel, are still cinema events somewhat larger than an ordinary summer action movie, then Avengers 2 risks disappointing and not presenting anything as valuable, spectacular and memorable as many representatives of a similar direction did, including the first part.
It used to be almost always the sequels were worse than the original, now when it comes to blockbusters, the creators are trying to continue to give better and cooler (look at the Fast and Furious, it is in the next room and the 7th part is a truly mega-masterpiece and the Main Film of 2015 at the moment, while the 5th and 6th parts also seemed cooler and better just nowhere!), and then the Avengers 2 does not work with this. Yes, again, our favorite heroes are fighting for our planet, and many guests from past films, and there are curious new characters (even with my wild dislike for Andy Serkis I am ready to admit that his character is very cool and brutal here, and I would like him to return somewhere in Black Panther), and the sea of action. But all this does not stick together in one magnificent museum cast-exhibit, which we show during the final credits (poorly brazenly from the screensaver of the series Michael – God of Action – Bay “Black Sails”). The sequel is really much, much worse and weaker than the first picture, but it does not cease to be just a good blockbuster, where there is everything for decent movie entertainment. Watch "Avengers 2" once is quite worth reviewing - hardly ever want.
