Silent Witness, which began filming in 1996 and is still being filmed. The main characters of the film at first only forensic pathologists, but somewhere in the middle of the series, forensic experts join them. Such a rather well-made detective series with good actors, who, of course, change throughout the film, but not too often, each story takes 2 episodes, of course, with such a duration of the series, it is difficult to expect that all stories will be equally interesting, but in general, the level is still sustained and it cannot be said that the series has deflated by now, as it often happens with even much less long series. Here, of course, the merit, first of all, of the genre itself, detectives can be shot endlessly, plots, unfortunately, life throws up a great many, the list of human crimes is endless, no less endless and the list of human villains, lies, etc. Throughout these series, it is quite clear how the social side of life is changing, all these ethnic conflicts and problems, but the level of tolerance is growing, which is reflected in the films. The authors also try to humanize their main characters, showing their personal stories and problems, but they sometimes do not succeed as well as detective lines. Some stories cause reasonable doubts, starting at least with the for some reason invented story with the abandoned son of the first main character Sam Ryan, played by Amanda Burton - such a positive heroine suddenly turns out to be the mother of a child born to her and abandoned once in her youth, who became, of course, a criminal, during his almost 30-year life she did not bother to find him, which somehow does not really fit with what she was shown to the audience all the time, then she is taken out of the series in such a way that she leaves her job and moves to the city where he lives and jails. The personal story of Professor Leo Dalton (William Gaminar), who succeeded Sam, is also fantastically tragic - and his family dies, and he himself eventually dies. The current team with the main character Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) continues in the same spirit, especially Nikki herself, who manages to get into absolutely terrible situations, often through her own indiscretion. Being kind of smart people, they all behave sometimes very strangely, committing rash and stupid actions that go beyond their official duties. Again, sometimes their merits in the investigation of crimes are somewhat exaggerated, their actions often resemble the actions of investigators, not experts, you begin to think, what is the police doing there? But overall, the series is not bad, which allowed me to watch it in its entirety.

In cases ripped from the headlines, police investigate serious and often deadly crimes, weighing the evidence and questioning the suspects until someone is taken into custody. The district attorney's office then builds a case to convict the perpetrator by proving the person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Working together, these expert teams navigate all sides of the complex criminal justice system to make New York a safer place. close
