"Little Faith" . In 1988 it was watched by about 55 million viewers. This is a family melodrama that makes you look at the existence of the common man within the socialist system.
This debut of Vasily Pichul instantly introduced him to a big movie. But only the closest people knew that this was not the director’s first attempt. As a graduate of the workshop of M.M. Khutsieva Pichul made a thesis film based on the story of B. Vasiliev “Whose old man are you?”
But then the director began to fail. His black tragicomedy Dark Nights in Sochi was denounced by critics and the public. And the film “Dreams of an Idiot”, based on the novel “Golden Calf”, was deprived of satirical energy and genre skill.
Pichul created several interesting plots of the popular television program “Dolls” and the new television film “Old songs about the main 3”. Vasily is the creator of many television programs on the NTV channel. At one time he was a member of the board of the Gorky film studio.
Director Vasily Pichul died on July 26, 2015 at the 55th year of life.
