In 1962, director Roland Bykov worked on the comedy “Seven Nannies”, Morozov’s candidacy suited the role of Athanasius perfectly, so he was quickly approved. The plot was based on the story of the re-education of a difficult teenager by a youth team. Filming was difficult, the director did not like Semyon Morozov, once a scandal broke out on the stage between a young actor and director.
In 1969, Morozov graduated from VGIK, after which he began to work in the theater-studio of the film actor. The following year, he was invited to participate in the filming of the film “Seven Brides of Corporal Zbruev”, on which Vitaly Melnikov worked. Morozov played the main role in the picture.
Then Semyon starred in the films “Like a song”, “Red blizzard”, “Favorite life”, “Spotted atom”, “We have no time to wait”, etc. He managed to work with such directors as Alexander Mitta, Alexei Korenev, Grigory Roshal.
A few years later, Morozov decided to try himself as a director, so he was trained in the director’s studio of Georgy Danelia. The first work of Semyon in the new field was the film almanac “Lucky Strip”. In 1988, he made his first full-length film.
