In 1979, Lindo appeared as a sergeant in More American Graffitti, but it took nearly a decade before he starred in the next film. Not that he wasn't invited, he was just busy with a theater career. Things were much worse in the movies. Lindo even changed agents, but it took director Spike Lee to properly spin his career. In 1994.
Spike Lee invited him to the role in the semi-biographical comedy "Crooklyn". Two years later, Lindo already starred in Barry Sonnenfeld as a villain in the film Get the Shorty along with John Travolta. After that, the career could no longer worry.
