In one of the magazine articles Anton Yelchin (Anton Yelchin) called “the child of Hollywood from the street Shipbuilders”. And that's the truth. He was born in St. Petersburg in 1989 to parents – professional skaters Viktor Yelchin and Irina Korina. Anton was not yet a year old when his parents moved to the United States as refugees from “political and religious oppression.” Anton grew up bilingual, although he speaks Russian worse than English.
Anton began acting on television in high school. There is a legend that Anthony Hopkins , who starred with Anton in the series "Huff", after the end of filming gave him a book by Stanislavsky - a textbook of acting, accompanied by the words: "You do not need it anymore." Whether he was a famous actor or not, Hollywood Life magazine called him “the brightest young actor” in 2005 (the actor was 16). In his 20s, Yelchin played in more than 30 tapes.
Anton Yelchin, according to him, does not really follow the novelties of world cinema and Russian including. He prefers to watch old movies, and I would probably like to star with Mikhalkov or Sokurov. And it would be great to play in the film Tarkovsky, but for this he, alas, was late to be born. Despite his interest in "serious" directors, Anton is mostly in blockbusters. This is in demand by the audience and likes the actor himself. "Star Trek", "Terminator", spaceships, robots, monsters - "a complete pleasure." In Star Trek, he plays a 17-year-old pilot from Russia. This is not a typical “Hollywood Russian” – a drunk and ignorant, but a smart, educated, charming guy. And this, according to Anton, is symbolic. This is a new view not only on the Russians, but also on the future of humanity in principle, where all peoples should live in peace and harmony.
Anton died in an accident on June 19, 2016. He was 27 years old.
