McKee received her debut acting experience after graduating from elementary school. She saw an advert for a theater studio, making the decision to go there with her mates as a joke. As a result, she was chosen to participate in the children's television series Tyne Tees.
Since the age of fifteen, the actress spent three summers in London at the National Youth Theatre. This experience allowed her to expand opportunities. After finishing her first year at East Durham College, McKee was able to decide on further work by parental blessing. The girl faced a serious choice - fine or dramatic art, and she leaned in favor of the theater school.
Gina’s television career began with small episodic roles in various TV shows. Her cinematic debut came in 1988, when she was offered a small role in the film “White Worm Lair” directed by Ken Russell. Her partner in this film was a famous actor.
