Leading actress of the theater “Workshop of Petra Fomenko” and popular Russian film actress, singer of romances and winner of the state award of Russia Polina Vladimirovna Agureeva was born on September 9, 1976 in Volgograd, in a family of descendants of the Don Cossacks. When Polina was 7 years old, the family moved to Moscow. As a child, Pauline was a “book girl” and dreamed of becoming an actress. After graduating from school, she entered the directorial faculty of GITIS in 1993, in the studio of P. Fomenko, studied in the acting group, and in 1997 was accepted into the “Workshop of Peter Fomenko”. Since then, she has played in 12 plays, performing 14 roles in them. “Fragility, unplayed trepidation and lyricism in this young actress are amazingly combined with consistency, perseverance and will,” said Roman Dolzhansky, a well-known theater columnist and critic, founder of the New European Theatre festival.
In the cinema, the arsenal of her roles is somewhat smaller, with her participation so far only a few feature films and two television series have been shot. But not by quantity does Polina Agureeva gain popularity and audience love, but by true and unique creativity. This is evidenced by six laureate awards, two of which are the state award of Russia (2001) and the award for the best female role (the film “The Long Farewell”) at Kinotavra-2004.
In the television series “Isayev” (2009) Polina Agureeva performed under the guitar romances on the poems of Joseph Brodsky “The Ring” and “...And I don’t need you anymore...” Marina Tsvetaeva, immediately loved by millions of Russian viewers. Their performance is distinguished by extraordinary lyricism, penetrance and intimacy of intonations.
In 2003, Polina Agureeva married director I. Vyrypaev, whom she starred in the film “Euphoria” (2006). In 2005, their son Peter was born, but in 2007 they broke up. Polina brings up all her free time she gives to her son, walks with him and leads to classes and children's theaters. Polina also loves war films with battle scenes, studies Eastern philosophy and is fond of the ideas of Carl Jung.
