Alan Ball is an American writer, director, producer, actor and screenwriter. Ball, originally from Georgia, attended the University of Georgia and later attended Florida State University. After completing his training in 1980 and earning a degree in the theater arts, Alan began working as a playwright for the General Nonsense Tiatre Company. During this period he wrote several plays. In 1993, the play “Five Women in One Dress” was staged by the Manhattan Class Company.
