38-year-old St. Petersburg Victor Kosakovsky, the author of the wonderful “Belov” and “Wednesday”, the winner of the State Prize, “Triumph” and about 50 awards of various international festivals, received the main Amsterdam prizes twice. For the film “Silent!” director Viktor Kosakovsky received the Grand Prix of the fourteenth open documentary film festival “Russia”, the St. Petersburg International Film Festival “Message to Man” (2003) and the Moscow International Film Festival 2003, was awarded the prize named after Savva Kulish.
His film was specially shot for the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. It tells about the preparation for the anniversary on the streets of St. Petersburg.
