Far from being the best, but not the worst film in Jim Carrey’s career and the worst of the Farrelly brothers (according to the Farrelly brothers themselves), tells about Charlie... that is, Hank... Oh, no, still Charlie... In general, about poor Charlie/Hanke, who, due to emotional turmoil, is forced to divide his body into two personalities, each of which is the complete opposite of the other.
This film, or rather even the role that Jack Black could get, but in the end got Carrey, is the best suited for Jim, because the incredible possibilities of facial expressions, palettes of emotions and changes in the voice performed by this actor – just the same thing to reflect all his versatility!
Jim Carrey and before “Me, Again Me and Irene” could shine not even for two, but for three or even four actors, eclipsing the partners on the set, but in this picture (the second together for him and the Farrelly brothers) he had the opportunity to shine with his charisma, skill of changing his voice, the ability to change facial expressions so that in a split second he really turned into a completely different person!
And that’s all – being in one body and not using any mask!
Being an incredibly plastic and emotional actor, Jim Carrey seemed to fit into the role of Charlie/Hank, getting a chance to pranks in the frame. The actor has done this before. But here his double character got a real carte blanche!
“Me, Me and Irene Again,” like the Farrelly Brothers’ other comedies, like some of Kerry’s other films, elevate a number of situations to the point of absurdity, sometimes even go too far, and surely scenes with a cow on the road (had this film appeared in some heyday of the struggle for animal rights) would have been severely obstructed. However, this film from the point of view of its humor is sometimes black, sometimes hitting the “apple”, but quite harmless, like good-natured Charlie.
Even Hank’s tough behavior is justified to a certain extent, and even in a sassy place like Hank, there is a corner for drama, compassion and empathy. This also applies to those episodes when Hank warms up to the full program (and with him and Charlie) – seemingly humorous moments with the beating, in fact, look somewhat depressing, because the viewer understands that the cause of such consequences is Charlie-Hank’s disease.
Perhaps the main feature of this film, its main advantage (regardless of how you feel about it, critics or creators in the face of directors) is the incredible reincarnation of Jim Carrey. His transformations in a split second in the frame is very interesting to watch, because it happens even faster than the click of your fingers and you do not have time to blink an eye, like on the screen again Hank. And then Charlie... And then again, Hank!
This transformation of the actor is not just talented, it is brilliant and Jim Carrey can rightfully be considered the main decoration of the picture, which eclipses all the minuses of this tape.
Facts:
- The glasses worn by White (Michael Bowman) are his real glasses, including a small microscope on one of the lenses.
- In Hank's breast-feeding scene, Jim Carrey believed that actress Shannon Wirri had fake breasts and only realized he was wrong when he tasted the milk. The actor later said, Very rarely do I get to the point where I really feel ashamed, but it was one of those. I was so embarrassed, I was kind of shy of the girl, but she didn't mind. I literally apologized to her between each take. When it came time to shoot, I had to vacate the studio. I couldn't shoot in front of anyone.
- Although Wirri herself was really “not against”, because before “Me, Again Me and Irene” she starred in more than a dozen erotic films.
- Rock band Foo Fighters shot a video based on this film. The clip is called “Breakout” and features many of the film’s characters. Foo frontman Dave Grohl played Charlie/Hank, and in the plot he went on a date at the cinema with Traylor Howard. During a date, he has a breakdown due to bullying and loss of medication.
On the time code 1:42:18 you can see the FBI ID, which was used in the series “X-Files”.
- In the final scene, Irene gets behind the wheel of a rented car - a silver Ford Taurus, the same brand and model as the hero Jim Carrey in the film "The Truman Show."
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
The Strange Story of Police Billigates and Mr. Hank
After Jim Carrey wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar for ‘Man on the Moon’ 39 (in my opinion, Carrey was no worse, and given the complexity of playing the role of a real, very famous person under the close supervision of fans – even better than Kevin Spacey, and Carrey’s lack of even a nomination – one of the biggest mistakes of the Academy), he appeared in revenge in two critically scolded films that, nevertheless, jumped to the tops of the box office. Of course, we are talking about 'Grinche' and 'Me, me and Irene again' (who, of course, is Irene, but what difference does our distributors make). And, if with the first, everything is more or less clear: offending fans of the classic cartoon, the gaggy Christmas extravaganza unexpectedly became the highest-grossing film of the year in the United States, and is now deservedly considered a classic of Christmas cinema, then with ' Me, Again Me and Irene' - more difficult.
The fact is that the Farrelly brothers’ cinema is such a very peculiar kind of author’s cinema, which is not distinguished by either good taste, nor a sense of proportion, nor subtlety of humor, but is distinguished by a large amount of vulgarity, cheap tricks and bad taste, while almost all their films were resounding success with the audience. So Farrelly's movies are difficult. In my opinion, their best film is their first film 'Dumb and Dumber' (of course, don't count Peter Farrelly's solo project - 'Green Book'). In 'Tup' the brothers only probed the ground, were careful, and, although the film also, let’s say, smelled not of violets, nevertheless, this is one of the funniest films of the 90s – moderately laundry, but where necessary – quite witty, and even with one of the best comedy duets of all time!
Unleashed by unimaginable box office fees 'Dumb and Dumber' hands of the newly minted hitmakers began to bake movie cakes one by one, pedaling more and more on scruffy jokes and nauseous scenes with physiological details, such as urination, ejaculation, defecation, vomiting, etc. Plus, the brothers have a special love for racist jokes and black humoresques about all sorts of physical disabilities, in their films there are always some dwarfs, albinos, blind, wheelchair users, amputees and other highly respected people, if they are not used in often quite disgusting jokes, well, and do not forget about dead animals, to which the best comediographers of America & #39 also have an unhealthy addiction.
Mind you, I'm not saying it's bad. I like black humor, rude eccentricity, not against me and bad taste, if ... if it is made with taste. Brilliant Mel Brooks often sinned with jokes below the waist, and Steve Martin and Chevy Chase in their early films, but they had fun and innocent. The Farrelly brothers, particularly in this film, have humor that is often vicious and unpleasant, like a spit in the face.
And, if in 'Tup' and 'Zadila' such moments were episodic, then in 'Everyone is crazy about Mary' and 'Irene' it became clear that the disease is progressing. This is not to say that the film is not funny or bad. It's just very uneven. There are moments where you laugh and there are places where you feel Spanish shame. And it's a pity, because if the Wines brothers, for example, everything is clear, they have films entirely of squabbles and it should be accepted or not, then about the Farrelly brothers we can say that these are very talented people who just shoot, not especially aim.
In style - it's all the same favorite Farrelly Road Movie, as in 'Tup' or 'Twisted' with two idiots (here two in one) and a beautiful girl in America with getting into stupid situations under a light criminal sauce. Jim Carrey, who saves a lot because he knows how to be innocent on the screen even in the most inappropriate situations and, more importantly, knows how to make them funny, is good! This film did not give him anything new. He continues the theme again and again ' Masks' - a good person who, by the will of some magical forces, becomes someone else, and only after getting rid of this gift (or curse), finds peace with himself and the world. This is not only 'Mask' but also 'Batman forever' and 'Liar, Liar' and 'Grinch' and the quintessence of this theme was, oddly enough, the Man on the Moon' where the line between the real Andy Kaufman and his mask is almost erased.
Here Jim beautifully portrays Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, parodying the role of Hank ' Bad Boys' from the golden era of Hollywood, in seconds reincarnating from one character to another. Fights with himself, a lot and actively grimaces, in general, does what half of the world dislikes him and adores the other half. Nothing deep and serious, but very funny.
Next to him is the charming Renee Zellweger, now a serious actress about two Oscars, and then - after "Jerry Maguire" & #39; it was her second hit. Renee beautifully shades the mad Kerry with some very positive energy, gentleness, kindness and touch. Also, there is a spark between her and Jim, and watching them is very interesting.
Among the episodes there are many different stars 'erotic cinema' - this is, apparently, such an inner joke, when porn stars and, for example, Robert Forster and Chris Cooper are huddled in one film. There is even Anna Kournikova, a 2-second appearance in the film which, I remember, on Russian TV served almost as ' the beginning of a great Hollywood career' Very good trinity ' children' the character Kerry - three hefty black slang, but very intelligent. Their line in the film should be recognized as the most successful!
Overall, the film leaves a double impression. Definitely, I would cut out some jokes and situations, definitely, it would be worth working on the script - not only because of bad jokes, but also because of the sloppy narrative, often quite torturedly glued to each other episodes. On the other hand, the film gave us an interesting acting duet of Kerry and Zellweger, showed not the worst story about a split personality. Sometimes the creators of the tape are overly straightforward and simply disgusting, and sometimes the tape is very funny. At the same time, the Farrelly brothers manage to maintain some truly childish sympathy for the guy-loser and rejoice in a childish way, giving him a beautiful girl in the usual, but not seductive happy ending. It seems as if they spit at the viewer and immediately run to wipe their own spit and console the offended with good jokes. As far as Carrey is concerned, no actor in the world can be both so disgusting and so cute.
P.S. It would be very interesting to connect today’s Kerry with today’s Peter Farrelly, I’m sure the result would be very worthy.

Cheerful Jim Carrey, schizophrenic disorders and good old nonsense woven into a touching story. What could go wrong? At first glance, this is the perfect form of the cocktail “Bloody Carrey”, containing sparkling jokes, an interesting plot and a drop of morality. But this time, something is missing.
The lack of an important component seems even stranger when you consider that the Farrelly brothers are directing the film. The same brothers who have already managed to make Dumb and Dumb are probably one of the most successful examples of an eccentric comedy with Jim Carrey. In theory, the creators should not have any problems in order to combine humorous sketches and the original storytelling into one whole. And, most interestingly, visually everything turned out well. Competent use of the editing and the musical component mixed with spectacular staging gives results. The picture looks tantalizing, so you do not have time to get bored between comedy inserts, while not losing the main thread of the narrative. Transformations between different personalities of the main character also look interesting and funny. It’s as if the reason for the lack is not here. We need to look further.
The whole cast is drawn by Kerry himself. This is often the case in Maestro films. Personally, this situation tempts me, because the potential of this fun car is almost infinite. Although the role is comedic, even dramatic, Jim almost always delivers. Especially if you take into account the specifics of the character, the policeman with a split personality Charlie-Hank, the number of all sorts of curves and balances simply doubles. For quite a long time, an informal actor's baptism, consisting in the act of a mentally ill person, has been accepted, and Kerry coped with it without any problems, in his classic manner. But going back to the search for the lost piece of the puzzle, we realize that here we have come to a dead end. What remains?
Screenplay. Maybe the problem is with me, but the story didn’t bother me at all. The fact is that the plot does not live in itself, as it was in Dumb and Dumb. It is difficult to empathize with characters who find themselves in trouble or a comic situation solely at the behest of the script god. His wife’s departure from Hank was not in any way motivated from within the picture. In the couple everything was calm, they were happy and only the need to create conflict was the reason for the change. Although I admit that the basic idea of the contradictions within the protagonist looks interesting, even if the basis is shaky, for the issue of controlling anger or, conversely, the lack of a natural outburst of emotions, as well as the inner core, is a rather close topic for most people. But the lead to this idea still pumped up. The saddest thing is that the writers, still the Farrelly brothers, already had the experience of writing a story that lived normally on its own, in the face of Dumb and Dumb. No one married or broke up just like that. If there were any confusions, they were as rational as possible in terms of the logic of the characters’ behavior. “Me, Me and Irene Again” lacked a grain of meaning in the entanglement, which makes even a good idea and morality fade a little. But against the background of fading, more contrasting are already less significant, but still cutting the eye flaws. For example, a lazy selection of topics for episodic jokes. Black guys who look like a trio from the ghetto, talking about science through "mazafaqa" - this is the level of parody of the accents of the Caucasian and Central Asian peoples in the Comedy Club. In other words, it's a very low level for a project with Kerry and the Farrelly brothers. Well, apparently, the search is over, which is where the main problem of the tape lies.
What do we have left over? This is still a good comedy that will help pass the evening, but it can hardly be attributed to the category of classics. Not good, not bad, average.
Me, me and Irene again
It took about six years after the movie “Dumb and Dumber” and the Farrelly brothers released another masterpiece with actor Jim Carrey in the title role. Only if in the film “Dumb and Dumber” in partners Kerry had actor Jeff Daniels, in this film Kerry plays a couple with actress Renee Zellweger. By the way, they had an affair, but it did not last long, because Kerry is a hard person in life.
What do you want to do with me, and I will give this film the maximum rating because I love it so much. I had that movie on the cassette. Yes, not on a simple, but on a gift cassette with a booklet inside. When this movie came out, I literally watched it every week, and I didn’t get tired of it, because the Farrelly brothers had a funny movie. You might say it’s a very stupid movie, but the Farrelly brothers never made an intellectual movie.
We have an ordinary entertaining film, which is very lucky with Russian professional translation. Jim Carrey in this film plays the guy that everyone drives, but one day he breaks the bar, and he turns into a crazy madman, and then everyone will get what they deserve. In this film, Jim Carrey showed all his comedic talent. Yes, and Zellweger looks good in the role of a simple girl who was set up.
There are many funny moments in the film, although humor is often below the belt. But there are many movies with vulgar jokes that can not even entertain one person in a thousand, and this film was liked by many people. Such bright comedies are very few in the world of modern cinema, so do not miss. I recommend it.
Who, if not Jim Carrey was to become the hero of the film, in which it is necessary to reincarnate several times per episode?
The Farrelly brothers, who, in addition to this project, gave us 'Dumb and Dumber', perfectly understood all the talents, weaknesses and strengths of Kerry, can find an approach to this ambiguous and slightly capricious man.
Screenplay, camera work, makeup, idea, dialogue, staging of some very funny episodes - almost all the roles the brothers took on. Judging by the reviews of fans Kerry and Zellweger, not everyone has heard about this film, and very in vain. Even episodic roles are well thought out and worked out.
And if you add to this a chic dubbing in Russian, in which all jokes are adapted - so the film looks in one breath!
The idea of the film is to show what can lead to unworked conflicts and how to cope with your problems and your second & #39; I' Of course, when it comes to the comedic role of Jim Carrey, hoping for a lot of serious thoughts and truth is naive.
But how one person without masks, makeup and change of clothes was able to show two completely different personalities, who even had a different look - it's just aerobatics!
Renee Zellweger was pleasantly surprised by the calm role of a girl with a difficult but classic fate of an American girl who can stand up for herself. After the role of a stupid aging unmarried Jones - such a role just showed the actress a completely different side.
Separately, I want to highlight the children of Charlie Jamaal (Anthony Anderson), Lee Harvey (Mongo Brownlee), Shonte Jr. (Jerrod Mixon). Expressive, intelligent guys who joke about science, absolutely breaking the template about teenagers, and even so funny that only they needed to make a separate series!
All in all, it's an undeservedly discounted comedy that isn't a popular Jim Carrey work, but for nothing. There is a fight between Charlie and Heng that is worth it!

'Before us is Charlie, a caring father, a model citizen who served 18 years in law enforcement in the Rhode Island State Police. Charlie lived on the ocean, but he hardly knew how to swim, this detail will then surface in the course of our history, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, he was the best traffic inspector and cared for the smartest and most beautiful girl in town. Oh, they had a wedding!'
In Hinduism, the dwarf under the foot of Shiva is human ignorance (as well as the fifth avatar Vishnu), and in Hollywood, the dwarf Shonte (Tony Cox) under the pen of the Farrelly brothers is a professor of molecular genetics and part-time driver of a luxury limousine for the purpose of a sociological experiment and, as can be seen from the subtext, a malicious and insidious lover of putting horns and taking away wives ' Rhode Island Police officers'
Admittedly, the plot find from the Farrelly brothers is probably the best one could come up with when it comes to 'schizophrenia' with a triplet of unplanned offspring as a consequence ' an unforeseen novel' especially given its systematic and ubiquitous nature, where psychiatry does not cure, but only serves, dealing only with what lies on the surface, and schizophrenics with split personality are unable to cope with continuous information noise, sometimes too hopeless to understand and understand their nature.
Therefore, "Me, Myself & Irene" performed by the genius Jim Carrey is funny as much as tragic, while all people without exception are held hostage by ' dwarf - genetics' Shaunte Jackson and dissecting on his luxurious limousine does not know anyone, whose next wife he has already laid eyes on and whose still unmanageable ' Hank' will sow chaos, without guarantees that the next ' caretaker at the golf course and model Irene (Rene Zellweger)' safely reach ' the largest of the small states Rhode Island' to be engaged to the healed Charlie Billigates/Hank.
In addition, ' dwarf - geneticist' day by day more and more like a thoughtful and aggressive actor, unmanageable ' Hznk' no longer promises anything, and six bullets launched into the head of a half-dead, breeding cow does not guarantee its revival. In short, a typical American story, where the metaphor along with cheerful and lively humor performed by the unsurpassed Jim Carrey promises two hours of laughter and good mood. In fact, I think that's the best Jim Carrey ever did. .
A gradual acquaintance with the work of one of the best comedians of our time led me to watch this film.
Police officer Charlie (Jim Carrey) lives with his three "sons" in whom he does not adore the soul, and they reciprocate him, despite conflicting differences in skin color. Over time, Charlie discovers that he lives in another man named Hank, which is a mental disorder that seriously affects the life and pastime of the calm and balanced Charlie, who is periodically replaced by the inadequate and aggressive Hank. And then on the horizon appears blonde Irene, who captivates the hearts of both conflicting temperaments.
Jim Carrey pulls the whole picture. If not for his presence, the picture would have failed miserably. The plot, although quite original, does not shine with a decent implementation, and when watching I often had a feeling of boredom, which was interrupted by the masterpiece curves of Jim Carrey, contributing to the main share of the positive of the whole film. Renee Zellweger I did not like at all, other actors do not even want to celebrate, except for the character of Michael Bowman, who, at least a little, but pleased with his extraordinary appearance and constant banter Hank on this occasion. The rest of the film is naive, more like a fairy tale. It is clear that he did not ask for anything more, but the indistinct plot and inappropriate image of Jim Carrey with a moronic hairstyle and mustache had a negative impact on the overall picture of the film.
I won't revisit it exactly. Even selective and talented actors cannot always come across successful projects, but even here Jim Carrey showed his flexibility in both senses to give the picture a worthy format.

I watched this film many times: once on a cassette, a couple of times long ago in the camp and then yesterday I watched, ripening today before the review (text).
I decided to write a review of this film after I learned that someone I knew gave this film a 7. That fact strained me. I asked why "7." To which in response he received an excuse, saying that it was necessary to put less or even remove this film from view. And I was upset and offended even more.
What would you rate the book History of Russia or Pushkin’s Collection or Physics? "Nothing." What is the point of evaluating this?” I repeat the question, "Okay, okay. 10 of course." Why? It's also a pointless question, it's just obvious. But you can try to answer: “Because everyone should know this!” Why? For example, because otherwise we could not listen to songs about Rasputin (Boney M – Rasputin), tell jokes about Lieutenant Rzhevsky (you can find it yourself) or Albert Einstein (oh that Albert Einstein). Same here.
In order for us to speak the same language, in addition to speaking Russian, you also need to have a common baggage of Cultural References (this, by the way, is also a reference. who knows where – write to the comment). It is a concise ambiguous phrases or actions tied to the context and / or the personality of the one who says / performs them.
For example:
Hey, guys. I'm Hank today. (Do not disturb)
Or, for example, make a face like his (the same meaning)
In everyday communication, I constantly use such references and can not without them. Life will become unbearable the moment I am no longer understood. People! Watch the movie, it's all there. Remember funny details or jokes and use them.
BUT. If you haven't already. For you:
Why watch this movie?
Anyone who watches this movie will recognize themselves in the main character. Also, the viewer will be able to draw for himself many important tricks and sketches.
A job at home.
If you are bored, you can try the following: The main character often changes his mood, and with it his face. Try repeating some of his faces/facial expressions in different situations/moments of the film. For example: when he first becomes Hank (everyone in the class laughed terribly when I showed this); when he casts; when he has an erection in the car and offers a woman a cigarette (actually there are two consecutive faces, you will understand what I mean when you look).
The film is very important, almost key. What is the verdict:
I don’t really like Jim Carrey’s comedies, he’s too crooked. Perhaps I make an exception only for the Mask, I like it, and, relatively recently, I discovered The Truman Show and the Eternal Sunshine of the Pure Mind, which somewhat corrected my opinion of him as an actor. So I watched the next film with some caution, although with the expectation of a miracle.
Miracle didn't happen, the film isn't amazing. It's a very, very cute comedy about schizophrenia. Kerry crooks, but does not do it often, quite tolerated. Renee Zellweger plays the role of a confused and confused girl. Loved "kids" Charlie, one of the few themes that has been played wonderfully. They look so beautiful sitting together on the couch. I like the albino with glasses and his story. And the rest... Well, that's it.
In general, the film probably has a good idea that people with a personal separation should be treated normally and that problems arise from unresolved emotional conflicts. But it is hidden quite deep and on the surface little sees beyond the outer layer of the plot. I didn’t have enough depth in the movie (yes, I remember the comedy).
It’s funny that the movie rating is significantly higher than on imdb. I wonder what that means...
The authors of this film very skillfully walked the fine line between idiocy and humor, which gave the film an elusive appeal. Only on some episode you want to turn away from the screen, exclaiming “fu” or “what nonsense”, as the directors immediately screw in something undoubtedly successful – really funny, or even serious, or original.
The film balances on another verge - between a set of comic reprises and a plot work. And you never know if the reprise will remain just a reprise or grow into a plot. With a disabled man and his expensive car? What about the albino waiter? It also gives the film a certain drive.
The hero - a kind of simplified and hypertrophied Tyler Durden - in both his hypostases, a very unpleasant person (Charlie is disgustingly cowardly and even a scoundrel, and Hank is just a baboon in human form), but still not a complete villain - one way or another he raised good adopted sons and still protected a woman who by the will of fate fell under his responsibility. Carrie here and plays and twists in moderation - which brings "Me, me and Irene again" closer to "The Mask" rather than "Dumb and Dumber", and that's very good.
The heroine - adequate, not stupid and kind girl - in the comic duo plays the role of a "serious" character, shunning the madness of the hero Carrie. It’s like she got into the buffoonery of an adventure movie and she’s very surprised by it. Irene unequivocally and clearly condemns both Charlie and Hank for all their bad deeds - but this does not seem tedious moralizing. This is an undoubted plus, which is deprived, for example, of “Liar, liar” – with all the rudeness and even places of dirt, the work remains within the framework of sowing reasonable, good, eternal. Very successful image, and surprisingly for such a genre naturally played.
Of the secondary characters, White is good, but the trio of black sons ... seem to also balance on the verge of heavy stereotypes and banter over them and realism, but still they are sharply knocked out of the film. Maybe the fact that they are not technically heroes, take on too much of the heroic component – too actively from the middle of the film, helping their unlucky non-biological father.
It seems that something should be written about the local humor for the last, something like a disclaimer: they say, be careful, there is an abnormally soft dildo of indecent length and cruelty to animals twice. And no, it has nothing to do with each other. Who is so embarrassed, keep in mind. But in the film it all fits quite organically.
If you ask me which actors were the idols of my childhood, I will answer without hesitation that they were Jackie Chan, Jean-Claude Van Damme and of course the magnificent Jim Carrey.
Jim Carrey is, in my opinion, the best actor-comedian. And that’s not because of his curvatures, but because of his own special style, the special atmosphere he creates when he’s filming. One of his participation in the film for me is almost 100% success.
That's what happened with the movie Me, Me and Irene Again.
Jim Carrey gave his best, playing a split personality in a comedy film: then he is kind, helpful, tolerates any mockery and insults from his wife, neighbors, friends and just residents of the town sloppy Charlie, then he does not recognize the morality and laws of Ham Hank. During the film, each of the sides of Charlie’s personality considers himself to be the main one, but at the same time, getting into various comic life situations, undergoes changes, which ultimately leads to a conflict between Charlie and himself and even a fight. You can't look at this spectacle without laughing.
Given the special love in Bridget Jones, it was also interesting to watch the tandem that Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger created, playing losers who helped each other out of their own problems.
Renee will not immediately recognize in this film: a very slender and young person, just beginning her acting career. And her voice is completely confusing... At the same time, some of her grins and grins, known for “Diary”, can be caught in this film.
Me, me and Irene again is a great comedy film about split personality with the unsurpassed Jim Carrey, with a banal predictable plot and stupid American humor, with a good musical component, and for me - with a special nostalgia, so

Me, Me and Irene Again was directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly. It is worth noting that they are the creators of the film “Dumb and Dumber”. There was a lot to expect. Not without reason.
In 2016, of course, this is no longer relevant, but for 2000 the idea itself has the right to be called unusual. Before this film, I can not remember that camedy, where the main character suffers from a split personality and even pronounced. Simply put, the plot is one huge plus. This includes well-written characters. The creators managed to perfectly reveal not only Charlie/Hank and Irene, but also the children of Charlie.
The humor in the movie is sparkling. There are a lot of things that make you smile against your will. Even if we start. A nigger-dwarf gun beating a man three-quarters his size. Funny? Funny. What is Charlie's worth? His eternal smile and humility to the most humiliating situations causes laughter. Of course, I didn't like Hank that much. He didn’t make me laugh at all.
Traditionally, we go to the actors.
Jim Carrey, 5, could make a smile by doing nothing. Just facial expressions.
Renee Zellweger – 4.5, held the high level at which the film held.
Thus, this picture is a comedy, which can be called a classic of the genre.
9.5 out of 10
This is a very funny and fun movie. The main role is the unsurpassed master of curves Jim Carrey. And here he's crooking for himself and that guy. After all, he had to play two roles in one film! How is that? Let's get this straight.
According to the plot of the tape of two directors – Bobbi and Peter Farrelly – Charlie – a kind and true law enforcement officer once just goes off the rails. As a result, his alter-ego, Hank, breaks free. It's the avenger. Not like Marvel. This is a brutal who implements all the answers for Charlie's offenses.
But the situation picks up the two in one body when Renee Zellweger takes the stage. A girl with a dark past.
All of this will be told throughout the script. How did Charlie have three black sons with a white woman? But it really didn't bother me very much. After all, all my laughter, whether from the first viewing or from this one, was focused on the transformation of these two. On the flow of the image of Charlie into the image of Hank. And vice versa. Of course, Rene Zellweger as Irene is not the last character, since she was even assigned to the title of the picture. But none of this would have mattered had it not been for Charlie and Hank inside Jim Carrey.
But even better, I can’t call the film cliche! So many times there have been moves “on the thin”. It seemed like this and that was going to happen. But no.
That's what the movie is about.
However, it is dirty and vulgar. And that's on edge, too. But he is equally resourceful! So watch him. Just don't have high hopes. I don't think so. It's a little empty. Not at all stupid.
A wonderful comedy from the Farrelly Brothers. Charlie is kind, timid and shy... a cop who can’t say no can’t answer harshly even when he’s being bullied. The greatest shock is the departure of the wife to another. And then there comes the moment when Charlie turns into Hank, the exact opposite. He is bold, arrogant, vindictive and longs to “pay back” his former offenders, as well as punish those who, in his opinion, do wrong. That is, the hero from time to time there is a split personality. Hank, as a rule, appears in stressful situations and tries to radically cope with them.
Local police, having decided to take a break from the troubled employee, send him to take the girl who broke the law to another city. The gangsters begin to hunt the girl, as they believe that she knows about their “dirty” affairs. Charlie and Hank fall in love with her and decide to help.
The main character in both hypostases perfectly played Jim Carrey, and the main character, no less remarkable - Renee Zellweger.
As I mentioned, the movie is very funny, maybe the funniest one I've seen. Jokes, of course, are not highly intellectual, and sometimes quite vulgar, but, in my opinion, very successful.
There are other characters that will cheer you up in this movie, but let it be a surprise.
In general, the movie turned out great: easy, positive, with meaning (albeit not deep) and very funny.

Plot. The focus of the picture is Charlie's boyfriend. But the trouble is, he got schizophrenia. Charlie works as a cop. I liked it when Charlie responded to his work colleagues by driving into their police station. Just like the Terminator. And with milk on his lips. Hochma. There was also a funny scene with a cow - pity the poor thing. The girl scene is good, too. When he squeezed her thighs. In short, a good comedy.
Actors play. Jim Carrey is amazing. Played 5s+. What is only worth his face - you can overdo it! As in Dumb and Dumber. And the Mask. I haven't seen Mask yet. Renee Zellweger also played well - a kind of pretty girl that Charlie has to deliver to the specified place. And the rest of the actors are also good – everyone respect.
The scenery. And the police station, and the beautiful road that Charlie and Irene drove along, and the forests - all very beautiful. It is difficult for me to describe the scenery here - everything is beautiful here. Oh, yeah, Charlie's house is a beauty. And his kids, too, nothing — there are waving that dad was pinned on the couch in front of the TV. In a word, a first-class sham.
Philosophy. Even with this disease, you cannot despair. Life is a gift. And that needs to be understood and appreciated. It's clear as God's day. You can't argue with that. Things happen in life. You can't give up. I know that by myself.
Bottom line: Me, me and Irene again is a good comedy about crooked Charlie. Rye, funny and, indeed, funny and not tensing comedy about the story of an unhappy guy who still became happy and found his love. I take one point off for the excessive length of some scenes. It's okay. My assessment:
Carrey has always been famous for his inimitable acting and, to be honest, there is nothing in this film besides her. However, the film does not lose.
All the grand movements of Jim, as well as his facial expressions - this is where in my opinion the main humor of the picture. And many may say' Curves are the lowest form of joke' but as Kerry crooks, no one crooks, which makes it especially stand out and memorable. And since this film is just the theme of the duplicity of the main character, Jimm is more than suitable here.
But the history of the film is not remarkable. The main character (a policeman-loser on one side and an unstable psycho on the other) takes a girl who is involved in affairs with the mafia, after which both fall into the usual series of chases. However, I did not fully understand why the main character was so chased? What information could she have managed that a whole team of special forces + helicopter were looking for her? And I wish the idea of the mafia somehow cleared up, but no. Motivations in the film well so 40%, no more.
What I liked about the film was its landscapes. The beautiful summer time is perfect for the overall tempo of the picture. And the musical accompaniment makes you involuntarily dream of sunny warm days.

I wonder if there is a comedy in the nature of cinema with the participation of Kerry, which most viewers will not approve of? – of course not, and this picture is a vivid example of this.
Charlie, a kind fellow, but here's the trouble, he is abandoned by his beloved wife, which leads to mental illness, or rather to a split personality. His second “I” is an arrogant, aggressive type named Hank, now and then waking up, not only discourages others with his antics, but also in the process constantly rescues Charlie from a deadly situation, simultaneously establishing the personal life of both of them.
I’m not thrilled with the Farrelly brothers’ directing work, they are usually acutely seasoned with such a stupid American humor, which, unfortunately, is what this picture sins, but when Carrey and he have a full card screen – a blanche for his signature crooks, then no one can hide the smile. Scenes of the struggle of two personalities in the same body, and even with assault, caused not only laughter, but also nostalgia for those old days when Kerry did not fill his head with desires for the dramatic, even if he also does well, but then he simply gave the audience his talent and each of us gave the opportunity to laugh to tears.
This is one of the Farelli brothers’ most successful works, but not the funniest comedy featuring the great comedian. But I liked the message - to protect yourself from this imperfect, often evil world, to protect the good and the bright and never fall to their level, at all costs. And if suddenly there was a similar curiosity in human form, then hold on to it firmly, learn and protect.
I will recommend the film for viewing, but not very persistently, this is not a very funny comedy, sometimes under the protracted, but those moments when Kerry is in all its glory, are worth sitting and laughing your as a reward.
I wish everyone a pleasant viewing!!
“Exemplary” auto inspector Charlie receives a gift from a beautiful wife triplet boys, but some suspiciously black. If you consider that Charlie, like his wife, is completely white, then it becomes quite clear why the soul of the spouse begins to sharpen the worm of doubt. Perhaps he would have been able to calm down if one day his wife did not leave Charlie completely, going with his hahal - a black dwarf - in an unknown direction, while leaving three children to the hapless father for upbringing.
Being by nature a total conformist who does not want to conflict with anyone (besides him, our Buzykin from the Autumn Marathon looks simply Richard III), compliant Charlie soon becomes a laughing stock for the whole town. But then one day the beast wakes up in him - an arrogant and assertive aggressor named Hank, that is, Charlie's second "I", who until then did not give any signs of life. However, with the help of special pills, Charlie manages to extinguish attacks of split personality and Hank disappears for a while. Soon life brings Charlie with the beautiful Irene.
The apparent roll call with "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" serves as Farelli's starting point. They again shoot a black anti-politically correct comedy, in which all hypocrites and hypocrites get “on the fifth number”. It makes no sense to retell those kitschy “jokes of humor” often of anal-genital nature, which the film is stuffed to the very top of its head. Against their background, the jokes of Farelli’s previous opus “Something About Mary” (well, at least the same “briolined” with sperm of Mary’s bangs) look like fun for young girls. What else can you expect from a movie where an artificial penis becomes one of the heroes?
The Farelli brothers received a record $45 million in production, of which nearly half went to Jim Carrie. And he's working his $20 million full-time, doing the damn thing on the screen. But the tabloids were most interested in this time not the size of the comedian's fee, but his new novel. It is worth remembering that five years earlier, during the filming of the comedy Dumb and Dumber, Carrie began a stormy affair with Lauren Holly who played there. Now the situation repeated, only this time the object of his passion was Renee Zellweger, performing Irene.
After reading the reviews before watching, I doubted whether to watch this film, but still decided, because this is a film with Kerry in the title role! The film seemed to me a comedy on the verge of vulgarity, but I did not see terrible stupidity. Purely American humor, in purely American history.
To be honest, I fell in love with Charlie, Jim so well conveyed the character of the charming quiet that the viewer did not leave indifferent. Hank, on the contrary, wanted to punch, again, thank you Mr. Kerry for such a disgusting character, talent is talent.
Irene is amazing, I didn’t recognize Renee Zelweger at all, a very beautiful and thoughtful character. Other actors, of course, were also charming and played their roles well.
As they say, adequacy is not their format, I liked it, and I watched this film about 3 times. It's a bit sluggish and a bit dumb, a great movie to pass the evening!

Usually Jim Carrie is twisted only mainly roles, and here there are two of them – and these are completely different people.
I think it’s a great director’s decision to let the actor reveal his abilities to the fullest. Of course, both heroes are extremes, but cinema is on the extremes.
According to the plot, the policeman Roth Island in his personal life did not work from the very beginning, first his wife gave birth to him children from a black taxi driver from the wedding, and then ran away with him, leaving with triplets. And at that moment, quietly rustle with a slate, the roof moved completely. And a few years later, it manifested itself - schizophrenia and split personality.
Hank and Charlie are sides of the same coin, an aggressive terrorist and a soft-bodied cute girl who deserves no respect.
Situations where the characters were revealed, the sea, and I thought that Irene could be removed from the film altogether, it would not get worse (although the situation in the motel is expensive).
It’s always fun and fun to watch.
What's new? One of Jim’s most recent comedic roles (to me personally, his last vivid work), but in this film he put a bold end to this stage of his career. In our country, they love this actor very much and I must say there is something for this: a person with a unique facial expression and perhaps a standard comedy actor, let him now star in serious films. Renee Zellweger very organically joined in this film, so immediately after the shooting they had a romance. In addition to the sparkling humor and the magnificent game of Jim (a brilliant episode with the fight of Hank and Charlie is already a mini-masterpiece) in the picture there are very picturesque landscapes of nature and everything is shot at the highest level, the picture pleases the eye. Lots of charismatic characters: White, beloved sons, my boyfriend Scooter. The film is very cool: it combines excellent directing work, and brilliant Jim Carrey, and a very good plot. Such are the quality comedies and should be a role model. 9 out of 10 Original
