Dinosaurs, butterfly effect, memory loss, local Titanic, desert island.. .
Once the princess and the prince went to the tritieth, where the latter had previously lived. And there the princess brushed off the butterfly in her memories, which set off a chain of events. Boyarsky explained the whole case by the butterfly effect with the help of dinosaurs. This is just the beginning of everything.
To be honest, the diversity of the plot is also boring. It’s time for Mill to go into 3D computer animation and create masterpieces or something else. It'll work for kids, though. I like the orange one.
This part goes back to the origins of the franchise, to true love. Like 50 first kisses and something. But the problem is that the princess is still capricious and wayward, although attractive, even for the first time her hairstyle was changed in a meaningful way - it became even more beautiful.
Cartoon in something and adventure, although there is no kind of evil (conditionally no), evil force, which slightly changes the concept.
About the franchise “Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf”, which decided to retell the old story in a new way, I heard a long time ago, and revised all parts. And on the New Year, its creators decided to make a special gift, and called it “Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf 5”.
The story is as follows: Ivan and Vasilisa fall under the influence of a butterfly, which waved its wings and made it so that no one would recognize Ivan, Vasilisa constantly quarrels with the Tsar about the absence of suitors, and only the Grey Wolf, who, although he did not recognize his former comrade, the only one believes him that he just “fallen out of time”, and now they need to return the favor of Vasilisa. And here foreign grooms arrived, you need to act quickly and decisively.
Interesting idea, but not achieved all goals. Sound accompaniment was so so, although with voiceover normal (it is a shame, however, that left Okhlobystin). Still the constant "slow-motion" cut the eye. Well, Vasilisa's behavior isn't really from this opera. Some of our princess became too touchy and capricious.
Yes, the plot turned out to be famously twisted. But the old charm is gone, it has weathered. Probably because if you want to film a Russian fairy tale, as in the first part, then do not mix there the wreck of the Titanic, politics and ancient Greek gods. No, I am a lover of ancient myths, but for that matter, show Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, Aphrodite, besides Hades and Themis, and the fairy tale will take on more obvious forms. If you want to make a fabulous modernity, then make it more modern, not ancient Russian. Too noticeable dinosaurs, video cameras and “Skype” on the samovar.
What's our conclusion? Well, one or two can be seen, but no more. Too much distortion in different directions - whether Russia, or Hellas, or mythology, or harsh reality. An interesting experiment, nothing more, and devoid, alas, of old charm.
Human memory and Russian love are two antagonists of this project.
This is a cartoon about memory, about the desire to change something in your usual life. Director Feoktistov made a story about human memory. Just think about the phrase "go there-don't-know-when." Ivan Tsarevich (voiced by Efremov) and Vasilisa (voiced by Tatiana Bunina) show the essence of human relations. Over time, everything becomes boring, so heroes like Vasilisa and Ivan Tsarevich want shake-ups. Vasilisa, as a symbol of all pampered father’s daughters, appears as the initiator of “go there-don’t-know-when”. I didn't like the cartoon. I think this is a modern satire of a society that wants to lose its memory and forget its history. I liked that the heroes of Greek mythology were used. These characters refresh the images of Ivan Tsarevich, the Wolf and the Cat of the Scientist. Producer Sergey Selyanov released another fairy tale to check the focus group of viewers for 2023.
Producer Selyanov did well, as in 2022 he released a lot of Russian animation of high quality. Small audiences love this series about heroes and Ivan Tsarevich. But I'm only going to mark the 78 minutes. The cartoon is very childish, and resembles the satire of adult life for children 6+. Screenwriters Shoch and Boyarsky came up with the slogan "There, I don't know when." What can surprise a small audience left in 2022 without foreign, Hollywood products? Human memory is a topical topic of all progressive people today. Director Feoktistov explains: “Memory is changeable, and the feeling of love is eternal.” The love of Ivan Tsarevich and Vasilisa is the Russian soul, it is boundless expanses and irrepressible fantasy of the writers. Human memory and Russian love are two antagonists of this project.
I'm over 40, so the project was boring for me. Although morality about the desire to change something in life happens not only in real people, but also in fairy tale characters. Fairy tales are necessary for children, especially when you expect a good ending from them.
Full HD quality cartoon. This is a New Year’s project from producer Sergey Selyanov, who finds audience interest in 2023 with this project. The cartoon is boring, or rather childish.
“Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf” is the longest and most annoying franchise of the Mill studio after “Three heroes”. But if the epic heroes had unconditional successes at least twice (I mean by the audience reviews), then Ivan Tsarevich never rose above the bar of “average”. The first part, released in 2011, was too stupid, but after three completely disgraceful sequels, it can be considered almost luck. If we forget about the first part, the same applies to the fifth part, which was released in 2022. Completely questionable, stupid and leaving behind the familiar feeling of slight degradation, it is still better than the previous three "Ivan".
Many drew attention to the fact that the plot is very similar to the fourth “Shrek”, but the main problem is not in this, but in the fact that the creators of the cartoon do not know what the butterfly effect is. Seeing the edge of the eye "And thunder broke out" 2005 and hearing from the edge of the ear that the film was shot according to the story "Ray Bradbury", the script was stuffed with time paradoxes, showed non-avian dinosaurs, and so that the audience did not forget about the fabulous genre, wove also ancient myths under the curtain. At the same time, the level of dialogue remained the same as it always was: the characters do not understand anything, or think so tightly that even children will twist their fingers at the temple. It is strange that the Wolf, who is supposed to be very intelligent, behaves like a mentally retarded hedgehog. Ivan... well, he doesn’t even pretend to be smart.
Much more insulting for Vasilisa, who in the first part looked smart and educated girl, and here she turned into something incomprehensible. She seems to be smart and reads books, but behaves quite differently... although stop. If you strain your memory or revise the first part, you can be surprised to find that Vasilisa behaved very contrastingly there. In her image, the screenwriters tried to stuff all the female stereotypes, with which in the Western world there has been an active struggle for many years, but in Russia everything is somehow tight. At the beginning of the fifth part, even before the fateful event happens, Vasilisa says three times (!) that she does not want to spoil her dress, and in the future will behave like a capricious princess. She is partly a princess, but ... it is useless to find fault.
Among the new characters there is one shy kid who could cause me sympathy, if the authors worked on his full disclosure. But it seems that the writers and director gave up on all the subtleties. And by the way, the director is Constantine Feoktistov - the same person with the appearance of which the Three Heroes rolled. I don’t know who took who in the grip – the director’s studio or the director’s studio – but their tandem is a failure. Definitely a failure. Yes, for a while the money poured, but the fees have decreased, decreased and are still declining. I can feel it may not be soon, but the Mill will face a crushing cash fiasco if they do not turn off the trodden track.
In conclusion, I want to say that the mythical characters, which the cartoon seems to be proud of, look so wretched, as nobody looked in American cartoons. Sometimes it even seems that such wretchedness is on purpose. I want to believe that's not true. I do not know what to expect from the Mill in the future, but Ivan Tsarevich did not have anything good and definitely will not.

Instead of the easy and empty, but good motive of the fourth part, instead of the brilliant and hilarious dialogues from the Quartet And in the third part (the first and second part already vaguely remember..), the motif of the famous solid full-length Hollywood cartoons from the 90s + nowhere without the taste of any cartoons from the studio ' Mill' with corporate humor, reservations and all the same animation, the news ...
Yes, and hoarse Saul Goodman from 'Better call Saul' (voice studio Lostfilm) tried to virtuoso replace somewhere sunk franchise headliner Dr. Bykov ... in the sense, Okhlobystin!. .
There's almost no music... Well, the song that is, well, well, this is one of course.
In addition to the seriousness and light drama of the plot, a thoughtful story, an original!! (please note) story and with the participation of real magic (this is all from Hollywood...), expressed in a really beautiful romance, it was not without a small bit of humor - which we owe & #39; Titanic' and Monsieur Wolf. Unfortunately, only a small fraction. . .
The reference to the famous film about the sinking ship was played here well, just great!! It seems that the authors of the cartoon walked on thin ice, given the tragic nature of this story - good, everything turned out well. . .
. . If the beginning is characterized by a kind of blandness and something sluggish, then the originality of most of the cartoon is pleasantly surprising! Thank you for that, of course!
Given all the above, it is difficult to say whether this cartoon is for children. There is no special action here, there is no humor understandable to the child too (it is generally not enough here - even for adults), here it is more about the bitchiness of women and their legendary logic, love, antiquity, the same ' Titanic', marriage of convenience and, of course, Romantics - but only. Do children need that? ! ) . .

I don’t know about the kids... But an adult would be very nice to see!
Even though I’m an adult, I love this franchise. Not only for obvious reasons (beautiful and funny dialogues, great voice actors, funny stories), but also simply, as the Quartet Yi said - "Because." Oh, my God.
Boyarsky's cat with his "It's good that you explained everything to me." It is a pity that I did not understand anything – in general, in my heart forever.
The second and fourth parts were not that bad, but in my opinion there was something missing. The first and third parts are excellent, despite the fact that the drawing with the script has already begun to sit down in the third, and it was in principle clear what was going on.
But this is all lyrics and at once fades when watching the fifth part. I do not want to offend anyone, but the time spent is a pity, five times digested cartoon.
The drawing is sterile, even the eyes cut (especially the blush of the main characters), the script - God, it's nonsense. I caught kringe (Spanish shame) almost every 5-10 minutes. The characters became stupefied and flat: Vasilisa is hysterical about and without, Ivan is not a charming fool here, as in the first parts, but just an imbecile, the Wolf also did not go far from Ivan in this sense.
The plot is crumpled, tedious, with some constant unnecessary dilutions, moronic faces, which will not cause laughter even in a schoolboy, and even more so in an adult. A ton of references to various works that will not be understood by children, and adults will not be saved from complete disappointment.
Again stuffed do not understand why in the plot of a mulch like “We are Russians, with us Hades” – in general on the spot, did not even try to integrate it into the script.
In general: the plot is bullshit, the characters are also, the drawing is the same. It is not clear for whom this product is made.
This is the most depressing and boring part of the franchise ' Ivan Tsarevich' and you can come to this statement by watching its first five minutes.
I don’t know how long it actually lasted, maybe less. According to the feelings of the cartoon, the timing of which is only 1 hour 18 minutes, went for an eternity, and if not for the most comfortable chairs in the vip-hall of the cinema, viewing would be completely unbearable.
Jokes and funny dialogue (as in the first part, for example) can be counted on the fingers of one hand, the second you will cover your face from the Spanish shame for the characters. Clinging songs are also not worth waiting, as well as an interesting plot. How was it possible, having cool ideas and locations on hand, to drain all their potential into the toilet, as if deliberately making the action in them as boring as possible?
The style of animation was also very disappointing, in some moments I wanted to turn away from the screen. Other parts of the franchise were much more watchable. . .
From the good one can distinguish only the plot of Porphyria with his Fedora (a pleasant character with a clear arch) and the mix with the Ancient Greek gods, although their design seemed insanely strange to me.
In short, I don't recommend watching. Instead, it is better to review the first parts or some Alyosha Popovich, the meaning and positive emotions will be many times more.

They set the bar in previous works, and could not hold it.
In anticipation of the usually cool cartoon of this series, the whole family went to the cinema. For the first time I watched a room of more than 100 people, where most of them are children, silent and did not laugh once during the session.
Children were still not interested and not clear, 70% of the cartoon developed in a tragic way, no logic, the feeling that they no longer know what to cram. Adults were already not interested, because initially the cartoon is still focused on children. They infused everything they could: the Titanic, Greek mythology, the afterlife, and everything is so messy. With the heroes until the very last minute, negative events constantly occur. They broadcast the philosophy of love, problems in relationships, women’s hysterical resentments. In general, they left in vague feelings, expected something positive and more in the traditions of the Mill.
The next year is another film from the studio 'Mill', which children and their parents will go to during the New Year holidays. Franchise ' Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf' is not going to lag behind ' Bogatyrs' and releases the fifth part of the cartoon about this couple. It has only been three years since the release of the fourth part, which is considered the most successful of all. Unfortunately, this part came out much worse than the previous one for various reasons:
Plot: This time it all starts in the Thirty Kingdom, which, in fact, I think it’s not bad, because it would be interesting to know about the small homeland of Ivan. However, the whole plot is promoted due to the fact (if without spoilers) that the filmmakers forgot that Vasilisa is one of the smartest characters in the movie universe. Because of this, further events occur in which Ivan is not remembered. There is also a subject called 'Magic Beans' which creates a lot of plot holes, because they allow you to make anything out of thin air. The arch of Vasilisa and Ivan is too banal and it seems that somewhere I have already seen it. There are a couple of good finds, but in general, the plot barely pulls on the average.
Thanks to the authors, the relationship between the characters does not go to a new level and formally nothing in them changes. But the cartoon is about feelings, about love. Also, the voice of the Tsar did not like, Okhlobystin is much more charismatic and related in this role. Well, the new characters are not hooked, they have no originality.
Humor: Compared to the same fourth part, there’s almost no humor here (or it’s just too childish). The writers do not have people from the I' Quartet, so the dialogue is simple and funny situations are few. If in previous cartoons you can slightly forget about the plot, betting on humor, then here neither.
Animation: This is where you should praise the creators, because it was very pleasant to watch, especially in the cinema. The picture was amazing!
The cartoon came out very weak, inferior to the last part in almost all indicators. It is a pity that this part came out mediocre. I’m afraid that this franchise may continue to slide, if not called ' Quartet I' to save the situation.

Because of the great love for the characters. I want to make a good sixth part.
When there are no ideas of their own, and the money needs to be beaten...
When the film ended and the credits began, one question came to mind: That's it? And the question was not related to the fact that “I want more and more”, but to the entire franchise “Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf” and it sounded like this: The end of the franchise? And the reason for this is this:
Plot. The following materials were introduced into it presumptuously and shamelessly: Ray Bradberry and his “Thunder Shot,” colloquially called “The Butterfly Wing,” the cartoon Madagascar, the film Titanic and a couple of others on trifles. Well, if it seems that “inspiration is not too hard”, we will add Greek mythology, settling the Greek gods in the created “world” – excuse me – Galimaty.
What do I mean by that? – and that there is no plot. There are a lot of borrowings, references, direct scenes used in these works, but there is simply no personal plot.
Perhaps the authors thought that the audience is not too educated and aware of modern fiction literature. This is probably not the case.
In the literature describing fairy-tale worlds, there are a number of rules. No, they are not dogma, but these rules preserve the integrity of the plot and the mind of the reader. To mix Russian culture, add pseudo-myths of Ancient Greece and season all this with references to modern cinema – this is what was realized in the picture.
Characters. They went out, because they were during the 4 previous films attracted the attention of the audience. All of them are preserved and all of them are presented as ideological blanks. Ivan is sincere, the Wolf is business, the Tsar is practical. Everything is saved and everything is present, but there is neither the integrity of the plot nor the general ideas that bind the characters together.
Conclusion. Could it have been worse? Maybe. But it still sucked. Exactly to the extent that both children and parents lose interest in this franchise. Perhaps the authors thought that the current audience did not see any of the above. But they were clearly unlucky – in the most reading and one of the most educated countries, they still remember the originals, as well as the mythology over which the authors “kindly” mocked.
The franchise ' Ivan Tsarevich and Grey Wolf' already five parts. To the heroes, of course, far, but this is even good - to the last parts they did not hide the conveyor. If I say briefly about the franchise about Ivan, then this is what: the first part is good, the second is medium, the third and fourth are wonderful. The best pictures of the franchise were written by the guys from the I Quartet. But the fifth part of the Quartet did not write, Alexander Boyarsky is responsible for the script, who is the head of the studio ' Mill' and the screenwriter, and producer, and even composer. And so there were concerns: he wrote scripts for various studio projects that have high ratings, but I find them mediocre. But I still went to the fifth part, because there were expectations. . .
And they didn't pay off. No, little kids can laugh (at least in my movie theater they laughed). But this is not even the level of the third part, which was distinguished by sharp satire, and not the level of the fourth part, where, in addition to funny jokes and a good plot, there was soulfulness.
And now specifically about the disadvantages:
1. Humor. Funny jokes, the cat cried. Attempts at humor are extremely mediocre. This time, we didn’t get satire.
2. Character degradation. Out of all of them, only Ivan looks a bit adequate. Others look stupider than themselves from the past. Some plot solutions are striking in their complexity: it was easier to solve the problem, and here for the sake of action brought and Greek mythology, and the likeness of the Titanic (for some reason, the German crew, this even the film does not explain).
3. Incomplete storylines. Some characters have a plot purpose, but then the writer seems to have forgotten about their existence. The characters just evaporate as if they never existed.
4. Voiceover. I don’t know if it was a movie theater jamb or if the editor missed, but sometimes the character’s voice is like a bucket. Especially often this problem is seen in the character of Vasilisa.
5. Music. I don’t know who came up with adding strange and sometimes inadequate musical numbers, but such people need to be tested for talent, because the talent in these numbers, as they say, 'nema'. For some reason, a rap with incomprehensible vocals was made (seriously, the words are difficult to understand, or they simply do not exist). And the numbers are animated very disgusting (to look at the same animations and moments that cause Spanish shame is such a pleasure).
Not much. The animation is good, the characters are voiced well (except for the sound issues, of course). In general, it can be seen that the franchise is only based on the Quartet Y, which, apparently, decided not to continue the franchise. No, if they write the sixth part, I will see - they have confidence.
And this movie deserves only
This work of art, sorry for the word art, turned out dull. Everything is bad in it: animation, plot, voiceover, humor, and the setting of the film itself (namely, the fact that the butterfly effect is taken literally), everything is a failure.
Let’s take a look at everything.
The first one is animation. It's degraded. Every damn shot explodes, the characters change their faces, which are apparently set to laugh at 6-year-olds. Even despite all of this, the drawing clearly deteriorated, and this is noticeable!
Plot. It's a long story. Ivan is forgotten, and he tries to regain his memory. The first to remember his friend, the Wolf (well, as he recalls, believes on his word). In the following acts, Ivan tries to restore the memory of Vasilisa through love. Does that remind you of anything? It's a Shrek forever!! A project that everyone remembers with a bad word. How desperate it is to make a story like Shrek's forever. There are also very long scenes, like the court, the last scene. I don’t want to write about it anymore, because if the writer doesn’t try, why should I try?
Humor. The humor of this work is as funny as the long plot, that is, they are not funny. I repeat, everywhere heroes build cartoon grimaces. And the jokes are not funny, the only thing that made me laugh was that I imagined a grown man inventing them.
Since it’s a cartoon for kids, it doesn’t have to be good. So, I have arguments for you: 'Ratatouille', 'Shrek', 'Madagascar', 'The Lion King' and even 'Smashariki: Beginning & #39; not bad movies, they have a plot, their authors knew what the word meant, not a set of scenes! All of these cartoons are for children and they are good. Even in Shrek there are low jokes, but not stupid jokes! There was an idea in these movies!
This movie is bad in all aspects. After watching this movie, I realized how expensive money is.
I have been a fan of the Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf franchise for a long time. I watched all the parts in the movies. The fifth is no exception.
I will start with an advertising campaign, because it is an integral part of the perception of this product.
On paper, everything sounded good: a kind of “Shrek forever” in the setting of the ICSV, the reinterpretation of the events of the first part and, the nail of the program, the phrase “The Whole Multik Universe”. My friend and I joked that there would be a crossover with heroes, but we clearly knew that this would not happen. And the miracle didn't really happen. The question is: why should we refer to the trend towards multiverses at all, even if there is nothing interesting or, most importantly, large-scale in the fifth part? Well, the creators may have appreciated “Everything everywhere and at once” or “Doctor Strange 2”, previously released this year, but this is not a reason to appeal to the viewer a priori false, albeit harmless, phrase.
What about the movie itself?
It is certainly the worst and worst part.
The first 4 films always started with the Wolf monologue, where there was room for good jokes. There's no such thing here. I thought the cartoon would really be something else, a rethink, a reboot - whatever.
Ivan and Vasilisa come to Ivan’s homeland in “There, I don’t know when” (why there was no joke à la “No, we don’t have it like that). Then you say, “This is when and there, this is when, and here we are there, this is when.” You will still be doing a little fan service, why not remember a good template from the first part?
And here in the session "There, I don't know when" the stupidest beginning of events occurs: Vasilisa does not like the butterfly from the wedding photo - it looks like it.
1) Why, if Vasilisa brushed off a butterfly, then it was Ivan who remembered the previous events, and not her? After all, Ivan was the victim, not his wife.
2) Why, if the butterfly was swiped from the wedding photo, did the events before the wedding reset? That's not how it works. I understand that it was necessary to separate Ivan and Vasilisa in order for them to fall in love again, but then why not take some random event from the past, when they were not yet born? Then the morality of the story “And thunder came” here worked better and more believable.
Let's say convention. A wolf appears, meets Ivan again - it's fun. In general, Ivan paired with the Wolf pulled all 4 cartoons, although you can not say that they, in particular Ivan, are well spelled.
But then the Wolf is catastrophically small, because the focus is on Ivan and Vasilisa. And it's not that smooth either.
Ivan, as an independent character, is nothing. An ordinary Russian boy who married a royal daughter. He loves her, that’s how you describe Ivan. In the cartoon, Vasilisa literally tells him that he is nothing, only agrees with everything she says. And Ivan did not even object, did not prove to her or the viewer that he was original without Vasilisa or the Wolf.
Vasilisa herself constantly jumps between a “strong and independent” and an “ordinary typical wife.” That's not the case.
But the ending is a total farce.
Clinging to history and restoring justice is badly done out of hand.
For the good of it, there are a few funny moments, but nothing close to “Who’s going to serve?” “Steam locomotive hasn’t been invented yet, but it would have been stolen.” Not bad, but a small fan service, without much alteration of the events of the first part (but some phrases from there sound verbatim). Some moments are sweet. The best episode in the film is a cruise.
To sum up, this is a depressing film for ICSV fans. It's a shame to do such a messy job. But writing at least tolerable scenarios for ICSV, in fact, is not very difficult. The space for imagination is huge.
Hopefully, the sixth part, if it happens, will be under more scrutiny and produced not for the sake of raising money, but for the sake of an idea with a bit of passion and love for the characters. They deserve better.
