Another TV movie. Ooh! Again, no advertising. Well done. Way to go. Right course.
In this part, Spider-Man is a pizza courier. Pizza man. Pizza man! Oh, we know all the hardships of courier life. But when you have a web in your sleeve, you can speed up, forgetting about normal traffic.
But okay. Our hero is still a loser in ordinary life and a hero in another. In the last part, he was indirectly involved in the death of his best friend's father (although that dude killed himself, you could say). Let’s see what happens to the spider in this part of the saga.
Powerful part. It has more advanced computer graphics, more tricks, less, as it seems, real love, there is a degradation of the spider. The main antagonist came out powerful, but not so charismatic. In principle, everything is normal, a very watchable film.
In this tape, everyone begins to engage slightly or deeply, some even deeply, in self-digging. They accuse themselves or sometimes others of something, someone even against the background of this literally goes crazy, overgrown with tentacles. It must be heart-warming, but it doesn't catch on much.
Those who grew up on the '90s Spider or the original comics shouldn't have accepted the pathetic substitution of this hero imposed on them. Maguire was good in the film “Pleasantville”, where he was assigned a role to become a character – a weakling and a quiet person. He had nothing to do in the role of Spider. This part was shot as if hastily, it has a huge number of absurdities, besides it is very not rich in action, Spider in the frame is not really waiting, Parker in human form whines, digs into herself, goes to visit her grandmother and ten times changes the decision to be him with Mary Jane or not to be, while she manages to meet ALL the guys that are in the frame, including Flash Thompson and Jameson Jr., with whom she never had any relationship. In this trilogy, she was just made a shabbald. And I don't know why. In this film there is one of the worst and dumbest scenes in the entire superhero genre: the Octopus, being a pussy middle-aged uncle, jumps around the skyscraper aki King Kong, evoking the corresponding reaction of frightened fools from the 1930s, juggles a grandmother who looks like a classic Russian woman Glasha in a headscarf and who for some reason does not die of heartbreak... And in general, there is a fight on a steep wall... Well, it's just the level where the director frankly mocks the viewer. Will a mass fool swallow it or not? Swallowed. It's not a real movie, you know? It's fan fiction with artificially stuffed, embellished, slick drama in shades of "Amelie." Like the first part, this is just a remake of one of the series of the animated series of the 90s, only here specially stretched, pressed a tear, embellished, sweetened. How was the cartoon? The octopus was obsessed with his work, built his Satan-machine, it was dangerous, but not so much, Spider did not let it run in full force, she neutralized the scientist and sent to the bars. There was no need for any additional emotions, the villain normally revealed with this luggage, he no longer needs. And then look, oh, oh, what are they doing, and he had a wife, whom he loved very much, and in her so dramatic a fragment shimmering in flight! And the tentacles are talking to him! And his car is already a star! You have to give your life for redemption! Well, it's not real, it's fake, it's a sweet fairy tale for girls. And by the way, about the car. The scene is like a fucking star drowning in the river - well, that's a joke. Did the director even realize that the star was very hot and the water there had to boil so that the whole river would evaporate? Yes, this thing already in this phase of work would incinerate the city, burn the earth and go somewhere in the earthly mantle. No, he's got a star in cold water bloop and everything's fine. It's just awful. A weak-minded film. The Nostalgic Critic: The 11 Stupid Moments in the Spider-Man Series
I remember very well when I was in high school waiting for this to happen. Even in those years, I understood all the problems that sequels and sequels face and what problems they themselves pose for the overall story. So I was very worried and very much waiting for the second part of Spider-Man. I'll tell you right away, I don't think they ruined it at all. They will be able to do that later.
I can say that this film is one of the few examples, I think, of the perfect continuation of a superhero story (and any story in general).
The main caste has been preserved and this cannot but please. Yes, I understand that, in fact, it should be, but there are examples when, due to the lack of opportunity to invite an actor to the role in the sequel, you either have to erase the character from the script, or replace him with another actor (which, in my opinion, is much worse). Here the whole base is in place and it can not but rejoice.
We tightened the schedule. And compared to the first part, despite the slight difference in the years of the release of the film, I think, pulled up very well. The spider no longer seems so cartoonish when flying between buildings with the help of its web, the costumes in this part are tightened, and the main villain here really acts as an interesting character with understandable problems and with incomparable iron tentacles.
Of course, the plot was left with a lot of holes, with a very large number of stupid, and sometimes quite delusional moments, with very illogical actions of the characters. But the same thing happened in the first part. And in the first part, despite all these sins, there was a soul. In the second Spider, I think the creators of the film managed to save this soul.
Where are you? Why don’t you pay for your phone? The psycho-scientist is raging, and we have no pictures! Did what? Photographed a squirrel? Fired!
The naive eyes of a good student, in which hope always shines brightly, gradually fade. Peter Parker’s kind soul has always been the cause of Spider-Man’s heroic deeds. In the first part, Peter decided to sacrifice his personal life in order to help people at any time of the day and night and not be afraid that his girlfriend will be captured by another villain. However, having made this sacrifice, Peter began to lose himself, lose everyone close to him, problems with his studies began, there was no money left at all. Peter begins to realize that Uncle Ben’s words about “the greater the strength, the greater the responsibility” have lured him into a trap where, through constant self-sacrifice, he has slipped into poverty and loneliness.
It’s not just about a superhero story, it’s about a personal crisis that anyone can go through, and I personally think it’s a great story. The stories of the other characters are not so impressive, but they are maintained at the proper level. As a result, for me, Spider-Man 2 is not higher in plot, but not lower than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
As I said, the disclosure of the main character and the story associated with him turned out to be simply chic, but I would also like to note that there are many funny moments in the work, which, compared to the first part, very organically fit into the personal drama. Due to this, because of humor, not a drop of sympathy for the main character and other characters is lost, and the message of the film is perceived much better than in the 2002 film. The proportions between drama and comedy were perfect for me.
Separately, I would like to mention J. John Jameson, who is an exemplary comedy character in the stunning performance of J. K. Simmons.
In addition to the sincerity of history and appropriate humor, one can note the beauty and overall atmosphere of the city of New York.
Spider-Man 2 is a stunning film about the man behind the mask of Spider-Man and his personal drama.

This part of Sam Raimi's trilogy became my favorite. For me, the movie is one of the best Spider-Man movies ever made. In the second part, all the elements are beautiful: starting with the work of the operator and ending with the script.
This film is strong both dramatically and entertainingly. Peter Parker’s problems take things to a new level: problems at work, a tense relationship with his best friend, an incomprehensible situation with a girl he is in love with. There's also a new badass. It's all part of a great script that Sam Raimi has done amazingly. Everything in the movie is in its place. No more scenes. Everything is well connected. It's a joy. In addition to the strong dramatic component, there are also funny moments. This is especially true in the first half of the film.
It is worth noting the action component of the picture. Impressive are the fights between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus. One battle on a tower and a train is worth it. Everything looks very exciting. How not to praise the operator Bill Pope. He did a job that deserves the most positive feedback. Why not? The operator of the legendary Matrix after all.
I understand that comparing the sequel to the first part is not quite right, since in the 2002 film, a lot of time was devoted to the appearance of Spider-Man, and in the second part, you do not need to stop there, but you can focus on the development of the characters, their experiences and the relationship between them. And this picture copes with just fine. I like Spider-Man 2 better than the first movie. This movie is one of my favorites. I have always appreciated him as highly as possible.
The greater the power, the greater the responsibility.
This phrase is a cult not only for the film about a friendly neighbor, but also for many generations of people who face responsible choices and difficult trials every day.
Unfortunately, you can increasingly see how people neglect its importance and try to let go of their lives. Some go off the path of responsibility because of weak character, others because of a true belief in impunity and greed. Of course, there are those who have not lost faith in the true good and follow the covenant of the film to this day, but the outlines of their figures are further and further removed from the gaze of those suffering who want to see the truth of this phrase in reality.
You can spend hours discussing the topic of good and evil, good and bad cinema, but often everyone remains with his opinion, which has developed over the years and after many unique trials that have fallen on each of us.
And this is where I want to write my own unique opinion.
Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man 2' film is a benchmark for good cinema, which is no longer filmed in the genre of superhero films. This film is the very stronghold of home comfort and warmth, which many now lack.
I do not support the latest film about the friendly neighbor Spider-Man: No Way Home and I want to quickly forget about it as a terrible dream, not because this film with many shoals both in the script and in the editing, but because of the participation of heroes who taught many generations by their example how to act to go on the right path.
I don’t think that the director of this film, John Watts, Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, remembered the phrase mentioned at the beginning of my review.
Here you, dear reader, will see no evidence of the correctness or incorrectness of my opinion. Not because they do not exist, but because they are useless.
I am very sorry that people are now following fan service, idiotic humor and unrelated plot, thereby supporting such projects, instead of films that, even after 18 years, do not lose their meaning and relevance.
Sam Raimi's classic Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire looks just fine today. This is an interesting, in a sense, lamp story is seen as something warm and so native, from somewhere from childhood. The second film of the series came out no worse than the original, necessarily looked back at the results of the previous picture, which contributed to the construction of a holistic canvas of the narrative.
The main characters: Peter, Mary Jane, Harry have grown up. Their lives changed after the events of the last film, leaving an imprint on everyone. And when a new villain Otto Octavius bursts into their fates, the guys have a lot to reconsider in barely adjusted everyday life. But the stakes are now much higher, because the characters have become older, and with this the film itself has become more mature.
Actors are good in their roles. Their characters, thanks to a high-quality, but not very intricate scenario, continue to evolve, and the past leaves its imprints on the relationships of the guys. The friendship between Parker and the younger Osborne is shown to be magnificent. The heroes have always been best friends, but then Mary Jane stood between them, and then the terrible story of the confrontation between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. The script and actors allow you to feel this smoldering conflict between young guys who try to remain close friends, but sometimes they simply do not have the strength to do so. Harry despises Parker for his friendship with Spider (as Osborne himself thinks), and Peter tries to preserve this broken friendship, while not forgetting that he is a superhero who should remain a friendly neighbor to the city's residents. All these difficulties between the characters are aggravated by the accident with Dr. Otto Octavius, who became a danger to the city.
Dr. Octopus was a great villain for this story, especially when you consider how he was played by Alfred Molina. His acting reincarnation is the decoration of this picture, as in fact in the first film the participation of William Defoe. Famous professionals act as a kind of pillars of both paintings, allowing you to enjoy their play and the genuine tragedies of villains who have become such, trying to bring something good to the world.
Each of the main characters is spelled out perfectly, experiencing certain difficulties. Peter Parker has a constant intrapersonal conflict. The guy is trying to do the right thing, but everything falls out of his hands: study is not set, with the love of his life does not work out, strained relationships with a friend, and attempts to heroize begin to turn into problems when the guy even loses his superpowers. This is a great example of how a person can fall into the trap of their own self. What does Peter really want, and how does he keep all that he can lose? A difficult question that Spider will solve in this picture.
Harry Osborne, who suffered from a lack of attention from his father throughout the first film, has now found a new motivation for himself. The theme of revenge covers the guy’s eyes, gradually undermining the young man’s faith in friendship and love. Throughout the picture, you can see how he comes to the fact that he will make him a completely different person and later turn into something new, another creature.
Mary Jane is well represented in this film. Her character, who in the first picture was rather a constant person who just needs to be saved, here appears as a person. And Kirsten Dunst has unleashed her full potential by giving a truly lively character who grows above herself and is an important part of this cinematic world.
The picture will certainly please with excellent battle scenes, a more beautiful and dynamic picture, will allow you to fully immerse yourself in an interesting story. The world of Sam Raimi will be appreciated by true admirers of Spider-Man, for whom the picture has already become legendary.
Spider-Man 2 is probably my favorite Sam Raimi movie. He took the best of the first part and multiplied it by two. The sequel was a head taller than the original Spider-Man, which itself was very good. Even now, 18 years after the release of the second Spider, it can be called one of the best comic books of all time, which still looks great.
This time, the plot pits our friendly neighbor against Otto Octavius, a brilliant scientist turned supervillain nicknamed Doctor Octopus in an accident. However, Peter will have a battle not only with him, but also with himself - the internal crisis will not allow Spider to calmly fight criminals of all stripes.
The work with the characters was excellent. Peter Parker, torn between his personal life and the life of Spider, slides into reflection. His attempts to figure himself out is actually a great storyline that makes the character more mature, understands who he is and what he does what he does.
The antagonist turned out great, too. Otto Octavius is not just a clown, he is a man who has experienced his own drama. His motivation is clear, and fate is tragic. Very well shown is the transition of the character from man to monster - and back to man.
Secondary heroes also fulfill their plot goals, somehow influencing the course of the narrative. Unlucky except that MJ - the heroine Kirsten Dunst, unfortunately, did not go beyond the archetypal "girl in trouble". Only in the end does it seem to have its own will.
Very good action and visual effects. The picture looks modern even now, the original fighting scenes please the eye. It is noticeable that the budget has increased significantly compared to the first part, and this undoubtedly benefited the film.
Yes, the script is not perfect, the narrative has its own little things and roughnesses that you can cling to, but you do not want to do this at all. Spider-Man 2 is a great, solid story that’s fun to watch and watch.
There is an opinion that the sequel is usually worse than the original film - the creators exhale and, blinded by the success of the first part, are less attentive to the details, less focused on the important moments from the point of view of the organization of the film process. It seems that this is not a strict rule (and not a rule at all, but rather a trend that is not always observed).
However, “Spider-Man-2” is no worse and no better than a prequel, it fully corresponds to the level stated in the first film: the same powerful graphics and special effects, the same slightly drawn-out narrative, the same plot construction template and in general a quite successful result that leaves a pleasant impression.
Of sad except that an offensive stomping in the place of the main character. If in the first film we could observe at least some semblance of its development and reflection, then everything is primitive to the point. Failures on school, work, personal front – what to do? – of course, you have to stop saving the world, and now you are walking from your hip down New York Avenue, losing points on the move. Yes, the abilities are beginning to falter. But the words of the Octopus are not accidental - the gift requires labor. Strange, though. Tobey Maguillar is generally a handsome actor with a peculiar charisma, but, damn it, he again bulges his eyes and freezes in the pose of an image. Yeah, sad. However, it is worth noting the positive scene where Peter tells his aunt about the last evening of Uncle Ben.
Harry (or Harry in Russian dubbing, aka James Franco) in the new film is given much more screen time, and this is an undoubted plus. That's where the development is! From the petty tension of the relationship with Peter, which still remain close, to the actual confrontation and the removal of masks. Franco's hero here is a young businessman who inherited a huge company from his father, but he is weak, he lacks that business acumen and dedication, and he is still crushed by the death of his father. In this situation, when the girl went to a friend (and the friend did not take her!), the father is killed, and the friend himself is involved with the murderer of his father, Harry, of course, loses his head. And in a demonstration of his state of mind, the director shows us the process of the birth of the future villain, which, apparently, the younger Osborne will become in the third part.
Mary Jane has grown to an actress who plays in the theater, and is preparing for a wedding with an astronaut – such a development is not worth dreaming about. But it's still the same girl who pulled a smile in front of spider cans on Peter's camera in the first installment. Same wooden face, weird lashes. The director once again gives pleasure to the male part of the audience, showing Kirsten Dunst in a wet dress with no real dress, but... but... but... she is still the same! And, apparently, it is no coincidence that he and Parker are worth each other. I want to note: Mary Jane and Peter (like the actors who portrayed them) are not bad or annoying, they are quite nice, but when a filmer shows up with a high level of pathos and pathos, you expect, of course, something appropriate.
What, in particular, showed Alfred Molina (Octavius) – what a colorful image, and the actor with his demonic appearance is quite capable of competing with the Green Goblin. Of course, there are flaws here – for example, his actions at the end of the film (and this is all because they pulled and pulled the plot and at the end ran so that there was not enough breath), but this does not spoil the overall impression of this character.
The secondary characters were also pleased: Aunt May, Ditkovic. When watching the film in the original voiceover, the ear suddenly caught the word "Bulbes" from the mouth of the owner of the apartment flying out of the toilet. Rewinded. I didn't. Jewish rentier "with a sense of rat" was emigrated to America in the distant Soviet years Russian actor Ilya Baskin, who along with Kramarov, Vidov and others were able to conquer Hollywood (although almost all in the same clichéd images of bad Russian or business-like Jews). And generally nice: ) in vain in the Russian dubbing removed his Russian-language replicas.
Ditkovich’s daughter came out of nowhere and went nowhere. What was her scene with Peter for?
All right, nitpicking. The film is still good, there are no huge demands on it, although it does not deserve to be neglected either.
For me, this film is the peak of the Sam Raimi trilogy, because everything is better here than the first part, and the third one has become a knife on legs and it can not be counted.
What do I mean when I say everything? I mean absolutely everything. The characters were better worked out and many ceased to be dummies, the action became better balanced with the rest of the film, the effects improved, there were fewer strange moments, but there were also cons. Without your permission about everything mixed up.
Characters. For me, the main pillar here is Aunt May and Peter himself, because they have the most significant changes, regarding the first part, but also the others. The aunt is no longer just an idealized old woman, she doubts, she struggles to accept her situation and the loss of her husband and their relationship with Peter at a certain point becomes much more complicated, which only better shows them as people.
Peter, too, becomes more of a man than a spider, shows his weaknesses, succumbs to temptations and selfishness, and seriously ponders the words of his uncle. Yes, the greater the power, the greater the responsibility, but if there is no strength, then there is no responsibility, although I think this topic is much deeper than it was revealed, but I like that it was somehow revealed. And this weakness of Parker only gives importance to the light in his soul.
Harry for the lack of a living father, who is difficult to please in the coffin, simply changed his motivation from “I want to like the bat” to “I want to avenge the father”, perhaps this even better reveals the character. The father never really liked Harry and their relationship was at least complicated, and this thirst for revenge may just be a modified initial motivation that will allow him to let go of his father and all the demands that Harry tried to justify. Mary Jane... Understand me correctly, she too develops and understands her heart vicissitudes, determines who she really cares about and there is a scene with a kiss that only allows you to understand this topic more deeply, but the character itself is so unpleasant that I do not even want to think about her story.
A related theme is the life of Spider-Man. This movie is very good at showing Spider-Man's problems as a fan of Spider-Man comics, I approve. Parker is always in the crossfire of life’s difficulties, which are not able to solve at once and always have to make choices. This is one of the biggest problems Spider-Man has as a character that he can never solve. I am glad that this was shown here and was shown correctly.
Antagonist. Dr. Octopus is surprisingly empty. That is, Alfred Molina plays well and the character himself, maybe not the most unambiguous, but he is boring, in fact, he is a goblin from the first part on minimal films. A scientist driven mad by his own invention, but where he loses the goblin is by showing off his shiza. Osborne was trapped in his body and his secret desires, which gave depth to the character, and Doctor Octavius is simply driven mad by his tentacles, which does not deepen the character. I think it would be interesting to reverse the original situation. Dr. Octavius controlled the tentacles and the chip inhibitor did not allow the AI tentacles to threaten Otto's mind, but what if after the chip broke, it was the tentacles that gained overwhelming control and Octavius was already under their control? That sounds a lot more interesting. Or more than that, if they were forced to “cut down” Octavius, so he and his mind don't get in their way. Or you could even go down if Octavius died and the tentacles wore his dead body. Better than a pale replica of a goblin with four extra limbs.
Let's not get too far away from Octavius and make our main complaint to him. Look, he's an ordinary person, even worse, he's an ordinary "nerd" physically weak and, attention. question - how does he absorb such a huge amount of damage and stay conscious!? I'm serious, Spider-Man is superhuman and can break walls with his hands, hold up tons, and this death machine beats the poor doctor in the face with all its might, and he doesn't care! I'm sorry, I may not have studied biology well, but octopuses are not immune. According to the comics, Spider-Man had a light (for him) punch in the forehead of a person and that in a bran that had logic within the framework of superhuman power and Dr. octopus did not come much, because he competently used his tentacles when he arrived, he was extremely ill and, sometimes, led to significant consequences. And in the film version, *hit that breaks the wall* doesn't matter, *hit that rips metal* purple, *hit that knocks out the wrestler* in parallel, *hit the wall* doesn't sway with his body*, *he flew a bag of gold in his face* indifferently, *the superman prescribed a series in his face* doesn't climate, *destroying all the living blow of death* indifferently, *the touch of death* somehow diagonally, *thanos snapped* at all, absolutely, even the door is open. That's why he closes with tentacles from bullets, with such resistors to physical damage, he could catch them with his teeth. It is good that in No Way Home this problem was solved and Octavius’ face no longer serves as a punching pear.
The dialogue has become better and less like the dialogue about the sand from the Clone Wars.
Graphics, although outdated, but looks better than in the first part.
The plot is a little more complicated and interesting than in the first part, conflicts change, relations develop, everything is at the level of entertainment cinema, and more from entertainment cinema is not necessary.
I continue to bend my line - the attitude to the main character and the attitude to the film can vary significantly. I do not share fanaticism on the character of Toby Maguire and I am not going to join some fan clubs with foam at my mouth, for clashes on the theme of the best Spider resemble battles with windmills. But still this does not change the fact that in my eyes '' it is considered not only the best film about this superhero, but also one of the best films of this genre.
In the review of the first 'Spider-Man' your humble servant noticed that the character in the interpretation of Maguire lacks a middle ground. That is, Parker gets his powers, but in the mask of a superhero becomes a completely different person, there is no hint of inner conflict. He accepts these abilities as given, and continues to live-live-good gain. In the sequel with the character there is a peculiar 'downgrade' if you can call it that. Peter is on the verge of breakdown: in the course of the story, he loses his job as a pizza deliverer, Aunt May may lose her home due to bureaucratic delays, the object of adoration is about to marry another guy, the owner of the rented apartment increasingly reminds about the rent, and plus a line with Harry Osborn, who after the death of his father hated Spider-Man, develops. And then it happens that the suit presses in the perineum, the web shoots not as in the past, lost confidence in their abilities.
Toby Maguire, in the first film trying to mow under a thirty-year-old clumsy schoolboy, to my own surprise looks organic and beautiful in the sequel. If you think about it, it is inherently 'Spider-Man 2' more focused on the human side of Peter Parker. The moment the character decides 'Fuck it all' and decides to quit the career of a super, everything begins to get better - and the studies went uphill, and communication with Mary Jane improved ... But the essence of the hero can not be thrown out, the turning point in the story becomes a fire (a reference to the first film), when Peter saves a little girl without a suit. It is this turn that triggers a series of events that gradually leads to the cult scene with the train.
Seasons in the life of a superhero are measured ' from villain to villain' the main antagonist of the tape becomes Dr. Otto Octavius. As a result of a failed experiment, he becomes one with his invention - four cybernetic tentacles with their own minds. Ironically, you mean bitch. In general, Octavius was a good man who dreamed of a scientific discovery, but the circumstances so developed that the sensitive scientist approaches essentially a soulless machine. Although I've called the Green Goblin the best villain in Raimi's trilogy, Doctor Octopus is the kind of case where you get empathy. If William Defoe had incredible charisma, then Alfred Molina showed an internal imbalance, in fact equating the trouble of his character with the problems of Peter Parker.
After the resounding success of the first film, Sam Raimi was entrusted with an increased budget, which allowed to approach the work more painstakingly. Spider-Man no longer seems like a computer cartoon, this flying figure, so to speak, has weight and shape. When he falls, we feel his pain (although maybe Maguire added to the sensation with his back pain). But the top of the computer special effects in this movie is Dr. Octopus' tentacles. The detail and movement of each element is impressive to this day. I was particularly impressed when I first saw this movie when I was 8. Just imagine - the boy made a similar belt of paper with tentacles and ran around the house like a burnt one.
And the other actors also do not raise questions. J. K. Simmons eternal in the image of J. John Jameson, Ilya Baskin in the role of Mr. Ditkovich caused a laugh, Rozmary Harris in the image of Aunt May generally has its own line, compared to the previous film, her screen time was extended. Even Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane, who annoyed me with her windy temper in the first film, gained depth and soul here. She seems to have warm feelings for Parker, but she has a fiancé, and she is forced to break up. The love line throughout the series resembles a cardiogram in emotional return, but in this part it is not as sweet and vanilla as it could be.
In the end '' deservedly included in the list of my favorite movies. It is reviewed by me, as is 'The Dark Knight', regularly, and does not bother. And it seems, in my ' standoff' with Maguire fans, this film is a settlement agreement.
Did you know that Spider-Man worked for Commander Zhao of the Elemental Lord?
But hello. The sequel pedals Spidey’s main problem: Spider-Man’s victories are Peter Parker’s failures. Save people? Missed the lecture. You got the criminals? Late for the musical your lover is singing in. There is also a plot move that literally begs for such stories: the hero is burdened with his strength, dreams of living as an ordinary person. Abilities disappear, the hero rejoices ... and then his loved ones are in danger. I've seen it at least in 'Smallville' and 'Buffy'.
I love this movie! In my opinion, the best Spider Movie, even with Holland's solo. There’s so much here, I don’t know what to say first.
Here's a casting gag. Dylan Baker in the film ' Requiem for a Dream' played the role of the doctor who sent the main character for surgery, and the guy was amputated. And now Baker himself plays a one-armed character.
I love the scenes with the Paucan costume in the editorial office ' Daily Bugle'. With what sorrow Robbie holds Spidey's mask. But the nail of the program broke John: ' Only Spider-Man could stop Octavius. Spiderman was a hero. He's (John notices the suit is gone) criminal! Threat! Get me Spider-Man! Hang it on his own web! '
By the way, the astronaut, the son of Jameson, whom MJ almost married, in the comics was a supervillain Wolf-Man.
I love watching Otto and his metal tentacles interact. And the hat will be taken off him, and the cigar will be lit, and the glass will be served. The best thing is a slaughterhouse in the operating room. Awakened Octavius in grief and horror screams, throwing his head back and raising his hands. Tentacles are also tragically weighed. In fact, Doc Ok is a symbiote, like Venom, except with artificial intelligence instead of alien intelligence. But the scene with the bank robbery and the abduction of Aunt May is taken from the animated series of the 90s, only there was Scorpion instead of Otto.
Some viewers were confused by the fact that the Octopus threw a car at Peter Parker and was not surprised when the young man survived, although an ordinary person would definitely have died. But Octavius finally lost his mind when he decided to repeat his deadly experiment. By the way, remember the scene where Jonah and his assistant are trying to come up with a nickname for Octavius. One of them is the Strange Doctor, or Dr. Strange. Jonah says he already has one.
I can still be excited for a long time, but as I said earlier, a good movie should be watched, not read about it in a retelling, so if you haven’t seen the second Spiderman, I advise you to watch it.
10 out of 10
To be honest, included a sequel without joyful emotions. Since the first part did not go much, the second and even more so. You're wrong, guys!
Better than the first one. Yeah, no doubt about it. Why? Because Molina! Whoever decided to take Molina to the role of the Octopus deserves an award. Molina is a good dramatic actor (see his role in Chocolate). He has an unusual appearance, such a large uncle with dark red hair. It is often exchanged for hulking (everyone needs money).
But if you get into the hands of a good director, if you like the role yourself, everyone, expect something like this. Please, Molina outplayed the Goblin, i.e. Defoe. Very colorful villain. Especially when you wear a hat and glasses. Ugh, with those tentacles behind you. I even woke up, a-hee-hee. The man really saved the movie from failure. I was worried.
Of course, the drama of the Octopus, hand on heart, is quite standard, a scientist who has lost his love, and with it his mind. But we still have a comic book movie. Plus, again, he attracts more than the Goblin. The octopus is purely visually quite a bright companion. All the fighting sketches between Octopus and Spider-Man turned out to be cool. By the way, the graphics in the sequel have improved.
The universe itself is evolving. Spend more time with Parker's boss. It feels like little Mary Jane has grown up (although the difference between the parts is not so huge, I don’t know, Kirsten has changed a little). He's on stage. Sam Raimi didn’t forget about Franco. I’m still not thrilled with Franco’s performance, but Raimi threw a curious bone (I’m looking forward to seeing him in the third movie, what happens to him).
About Toby! My subjective opinion, the actor tried to reveal his Spider-Man even deeper. He was humoured, he was humiliated, he was hurried from corner to corner (he was afraid to put the lives of his relatives at risk). I mean, apparently, Toby tried, I want to praise the actor. Not everything has worked out, but progress is noticeable.
As a result – surprisingly high-quality and spectacular sequel, which even managed to jump the original.
P.S.
Ash “Kill everyone” – appears in the 26th minute!

A noticeable “humanization” of the arthropod mutant Sam Raimi benefited not only the plot, but also the disclosure of the character of the characters involved. In the new part, as it turned out, Spider-Man is not such an invulnerable superhero - the problems of Peter Parker's real life affect the mental health of his alter ego, causing periodic spider web shots at the "idle" and loss of abilities. But it is not worth rushing to conclusions - here it would be possible to deftly link the situation with the protagonist's internal torments and old wounds, but the director leads everything into the channel of boudoir lyrics (all with the same Kirsten Dunst).
Now the plot is overgrown not by a love triangle, but by some satanic web, where everyone walks around a red mouse that plays in low-grade plays and can not decide who to give up first. Against this background, the magnificent Alfred Molina is lost, who was suitable for his role very successfully, and a little grown up in the professional (and plot) plan Toby Maguire - the viewer will almost no longer see a jock in a red and blue suit, in fact there will be an adult young man facing a difficult choice.
Danny Elfman against the background of the unfolding drama sounds more impressive and vivid, it is a pity that in the subsequent part you will not have to see him. Raimi turned out to be a hard man, and therefore two talents, as it turned out, were quite difficult to get along. By the way, numerous references indicate that the authorities of Mr. Sam still have - various "Easter eggs" in the direction of "The Matrix" (which is observed since the first film) speak of the unconditional love of the director for Wachowski. It is sad that some more heartfelt drama had to be exchanged for pathetic torment because of a very frivolous simpleton. The prerequisites for a magnificent parable were, but the director began to give up the position of some cheap syntimental, completely illogical and stuffy. Well, the genre again stalls in place, repeating the mistakes of the last century and the superhero follies of the 80s.

'Spider-Man 2' - the continuation of the cult comic book Sami Raimi, released two years after the original and loved by the audience as well as the first part. All lovers of sad love lines in a superhero – welcome.
So, Peter Parker, after defeating the Green Goblin in the first film, continues to serve the society under the guise of Spider-Man, while trying to combine superhero activities with the life of a simple student. It turns out that he, to put it mildly, is not very. Peter loses his job (and so not the most enviable - a pizza deliveryman), balances on the verge of dropping out of college, and relationships with all close people manages to spoil. And on the scene, meanwhile, a new threat appears - the brilliant scientist Otto Octavius in the course of an unsuccessful experiment becomes a supervillain, known as Doctor Octopus.
Here it is worth making an important clarification regarding the narrative of the tape. Dynamics 'Spider-Man 2' sags sharply around the middle of the film, and it lasts quite a lot of the timekeeping. A lot of screen time is devoted not to superheroism, not to the movement of the plot, but to the self-digging of Peter Parker. Essentially, a significant chunk of the film is not Spider-Man, but the reflective Tobey Maguire. However, most of the timekeeping is eaten by the personal problems of not only the main character, but also other characters, ranging from MJ to the same Otto Octavius. Yes, of course, it reveals the characters of the characters much better, shows different sides of their personalities, and this is good, however, I repeat, the dynamics of the tape from the endless suffering of all the actors are very sagging.
It's worth talking about caste. The already mentioned Tobey Maguire still raises questions about his image of Peter Parker, but still with the role he lived quite tightly. I was disappointed this time by Kirsten Dunst, in whom I stopped seeing Mary Jane. The reason for this was the changed image of the heroine - MJ changed the color of her hair from copper-red to more natural (and faded), her appearance also underwent changes for the worse - some indistinct and the same faded outfits, coupled with an almost complete lack of makeup. The appearance of the case was not limited - MJ herself became much more dull, boring, her cheerful smile disappeared from her face, and Kirsten looks at all the events almost all the timekeeping because of the lowered eyelids, which does not cause special sympathy for her character. But perfectly played Alfred Molina, who played the role of Doctor Octopus and gave one of the best antagonists in comic books. Well, still good in their images James Franco, J.K. Simmons and Rosemary Harris.
From a visual point of view, the film has stepped forward compared to the original tape. The quality of the production, including action scenes, the stunning graphics at that time even now look very dignified, and the scenes of Spider’s flight through the city are still breathtaking. And of course, still good soundtrack Danny Elfman, and purchased licensed tracks in the picture also fit organically.
Coming to the final - 'Spider-Man 2' in my opinion, it turned out a little worse than its predecessor. It’s still a great superhero, but the heightened focus on the personal issues and experiences of the characters deprives the tape of the necessary pace of storytelling, and Parker’s eternal whining may just start to annoy. However, the film has a great picture, a beautiful action, a cool antagonist and a heroic title theme - for all this the tape really deserves to be viewed and appreciated.
I don't have time for girls right now!
Spider-Man 2
We have all the elements of a good but not great superhero story. It lacks the tragic ugliness of 2002’s Hulk, but it’s a unique experience. Spider-Man 2 fills the void with a solid character of development and great humor. This is what a superhero movie should be like. Cinema believes in its story. It's not nostalgia, it's not edge-to-edge special effects, it's the poetic realization that being a Spider is a burden that Peter isn't quite ready to carry.
The first half is a little easy to act and hard to talk about. It's not inherently bad. A lot of the dialogue is about finding Peter Parker's soul: should he sacrifice his inner desires for the good of humanity? Or, give up fighting crime to become an ordinary guy, pursue your dreams and get a girlfriend? The second hour contains an incendiary climax that works on several emotional levels. It’s been a couple of years since the original Spider-Man. By this time, Peter Parker's costumed alter ego had become a New York legend, despite being as much of a hero to some as a villain to others. Staying true to his vocation as a crime fighter, Peter must stay away from the girl of his dreams. Meanwhile, a genius physicist named Otto Octavius, who works for Peter's best friend, Harry, has mastered a way to create a controlled fusion reaction that can provide enough energy to power an entire city. Using mechanical arms grafted into his spine, he begins to manipulate the mini-sun he creates, but things go catastrophically wrong. There is no longer the man he was - he is mad and possessed. But, like Clark Kent in Superman 2, Peter decided to give up his powers so he could finally pay attention to his woman. At a time when the world needs him most.
The most convincing and dangerous adversary of Spider-Man is Doctor Octopus, and Alfred Molina is developing him into something more than just another mad genius. He's certainly more intimidating than the Green Goblin. With his four mechanical arms, Doc matches (or surpasses) Spider when it comes to brains, muscles, and reflexes. Deprived of conscience and floating on the stream of immorality, Octopus presents one of the most dangerous comic-book interpretations of the bad guy. The significance of a superhero is fixed by the villains he encounters. We have a villain with a good character who is overcome by evil. Peter admires the famous Doc, who will become a terrifying combination of man and machine. We hear him coming as he makes his way to us. Molina finds the necessary balance between being too restrained and looking like a clown. Cinema is essentially three in one: traditional superhero plot, fairy tale and melodramatism. The third element is crucial to the development of both the plot and the characters, and it is better shown than in the first and third films. I have humor. We get a lady singing a theme song from an animated series. The spider, getting into the elevator, complains that his suit is too tight in the crotch, and Bruce Campbell plays fastidious, appearing for another, long-awaited time. It’s funny that Raimi didn’t want to include Stan Lee’s cameos in his films, but Bruce is on board anyway.
Watching Raimi and his team craftily handle story threads, I enjoyed classic craftsmanship: the film gives full weight to all its elements, keeps them alive, built with such skill that I endured to the end. Dialogues are more about emotions, love and values, less about long explanations of the inexplicable. Of course, the triumph of special effects in the film is the train scene and the work on the Doctor’s four robotic tentacles, which move with supernatural speed, reacting, responding and thinking, becoming independent characters. While this creative team remained at the helm, I waited for the new adventures of a friendly neighbor.
If the first part of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy I watched for the first time on VHS, then in the case of the sequel, which I first watched on DVD when I first got the first DVD player and saw this movie in the disc store. In fact, Spider-Man 2 was one of the first movies I watched in DVD format.
Of course, it was cool and unusual to watch the film in quality and resolution beyond VHS. But I didn’t like the movie because of that. The point is in the approach of its creators to the story, the presentation of the plot. Unfortunately, in subsequent reboots of the story about Spider-Man, the character of Peter Parker was not revealed in such detail and was not as clear and close to the viewer as Peter Parker from the Sam Raimi trilogy.
In the sequel, we are shown another round of development of the personality of Peter Parker. At some point, our hero realizes that he will always face a choice: the life of an ordinary person or the life of a superhero who risks his own life to save the lives of other people. At the same time, his relationship with Spider-Man imposes its risks, because people close to him can suffer and invariably suffer from this.
The path to making a choice is a separate story, rather dramatically presented and clinging thereby to the soul. There are a lot of lofty words and thoughts about heroism as a concept, about responsibility for the presence of power, which can be used for both good and evil. You know, I almost admired these high-flown dialogues with Aunt May and Uncle Ben (Auntie and Uncle Peter) as a child, and still they catch me, shaking me, so capacious and accurate they are.
I believe that this is a movie that is not ashamed to show children, because there is no vulgarity here at all, and everything that is there is moral: thoughts about heroism and what it entails, as well as about the responsibility for crimes that will inevitably follow, will overtake everyone. And of course, the film also shows the development of the relationship between Peter and Mary Jane, which in the first film was not simple. In the sequel, they become even more complicated (and this is in the wake of Peter’s reflections on whether he should continue to be a superhero).
In general, the film tells a very sensitive, I would even say a personal story of the heroism of Peter Parker, which is easy to transfer to yourself. This is the uniqueness of the films of Sam Raimi about Spider-Man - this is the movie, after watching which you are encouraged, feel a surge of some strength and it seems that you and the hero, because so accustomed to the role of the hero of the screen. Truly striking feedback of this film with the viewer – I have not felt this after watching comic books, perhaps they have already lost it, but a pity.
I consider special effects to be stupid. Of course, they are already outdated, if you evaluate them with a modern look, but at the time they were quality, yet it is Sony. In any case, the “picture” of what is happening is not felt, except in several scenes, which is not critical at all.
I recommend this superhero movie to everyone. In my opinion, this is basically the best superhero in the movie. No one before or since has managed to reflect the history of the superhero and his emotions so deeply, to make the viewer feel them naturally.
I still believe that Sam Raimi’s trilogy is the best film adaptation “about a friendly neighbor, Spider-Man.”
Yes, let the hero does not look much like a schoolboy from the comics, and Kirsten Dunst does not pull on a charming hot schoolgirl. In my 7 years, these nuances did not bother me at all, and even now they do not bother me much. But I was worried about a story that made me turn on the film again and again and watch with trepidation the beloved hero of childhood.
Now, from the height of the past years, I still love this trilogy and consider it a well-deserved classic of superhero films.
But for as long as I can remember, the best part was definitely the second. And probably everyone already thinks so. All the advantages of the first picture were preserved, and the disadvantages of the first picture were taken into account, so the sequel somehow surpassed the first film.
Peter Parker is tired of being Spider-Man because his normal life is not going well. And this is logical, always in this life you have to sacrifice something, "and even your dreams." But evil does not sleep and now the formidable Doctor Octavius came to replace the Green Goblin.
Of course, the main plus of the picture is the local antagonist performed by Alfred Molina. To call him a villain for some reason I do not turn my tongue. Yes, he maimed people in pursuit of his goal (which was a scientific work), but he did not put murder and chaos of humanity as his motivation. In fact, he was just trying to put himself in the pantheon of great scientists, to let people control the source of solar energy directly. But then he crossed the line: from prudence to obsession with his goal, not noticing his consequences.
And yet he cannot be called a fearless rival of Spider-Man. As an enemy, he is fearsome and powerful, virtually invulnerable, thanks to his four mechanical manipulators. The terrible and cold look of the scientist in dark glasses is still frightening on the screen. Add to all the above magnificent dialogues, which our dubbing did not spoil, but only the voice of Sergey Parshin decorated the already good game Molina, and the antagonist is flawless.
Peter Parker, like any growing up person, decides for himself the important questions of life - to devote his life, to own or to sacrifice his life for the people? As a person, he has grown above himself, the viewer should no longer feel that he is yesterday’s schoolboy, but a real person who is ready to give his life in the name of people.
The fights are brilliant, of course, everyone remembers the dizzying scene with the train. For now, Marvel probably won’t be able to beat it, because it looks at the same time absolutely fantastic and humanly realistic. Spider-Man receives huge wounds on his body from powerful tentacles, he was not hit by a train, and stopping the train on his own every time makes you worry and fear, but suddenly this time he will not stop him, so it looks plausible.
Special effects and makeup are made on conscience, the tentacles do not feel pretentious effect, and each time they come into contact with the body of the Spider, the viewer can feel the severity and damage of each blow. Flights over Manhattan skyscrapers look amazing, camera angles immerse viewers in the events and without any 3D.
Humor, defusing the influx of pathos of a superhero movie is very pleasing. Mostly it came from the hero J. K. Simmons. Again, dubbing into the point falls into the intonation of the original.
- Take away these sweet pictures before I get diabetes!
- You're fired! Parker, hey! You're fired!
This film cannot even be called a fantastic action movie. The director of the Evil Dead movies knows where to bring such a saspionage that you will inadvertently shudder from a PG-13 movie. Remember at least the scene in the opera block, where uncontrollable tentacles deal with a team of doctors. Everything was done without a single drop of blood, but the movement of the camera with the lens of the tentacles, the design of the light, the fall of the scenery, the absence of any musical theme allows you to strain, as from a good thriller.
Speaking of music, Danny Elfman is always a good maestro. After all, everyone remembers the main theme of Spider-Man from the trilogy Raimi:
Like any good film, it has to be moral, this film is no exception.
“The gift we are given must serve the good of mankind.”
“Sometimes we have to be resilient and give up what we most desire. Even from our dreams.
And after that, don’t say that superhero movies are stupid and don’t teach anything.
In short, the best sequel from the most famous Spider-Man franchise to date from an original director and good actors.
Spider-Man 2 (2004) is a great sequel. The film became more interesting both in terms of plot and in terms of heroes.
Alfred Molina was added to the caste. In my opinion, he fits the role of Doctor Octopus. Throughout the film, he has motivation. Yes, Molina will sometimes outplay, but overall he's good. We were shown Dr. Connors. Although he appears for a short period of time, you immediately see that the actor is suitable for the role of the Lizard. It's a shame we didn't see him as the villain in Raimi's trilogy. Jonah's son is also in the film, but there's not much to say about him. They don’t reveal it to us, but it’s unnecessary for the film. All actors have not changed since the first part. They play well, but there's one actress who spoils the film - Kirsten Dance. That’s where she starts to get mad.
The film has excellent musical accompaniment, as in the first part.
The picture is much better. In the first part, everything looked toy, and then the film won the Oscar for the best visual effects.
Peter's torment is very interesting to watch. Now he is tormented by one question - does he need to be a hero? It's really exciting to see Peter try to live a normal life again.
I like the sequel better than the original. This is a good example of how to continue.
“Spider-Man 2” is the second part of the magnificent trilogy of Sam Raimi, which tells about the difficult life of Peter Parker, who two years later is tormented by the choice: to be an ordinary student or a favorite superhero.
Undoubtedly, the main conflict of the film is the clash of two personalities of the protagonist: a man and a superhero. A double life literally rips Peter Parker apart. Due to his lack of focus, he even begins to lose his superpowers. At some time, Peter Parker decides to return to ordinary life, but soon, realizing that the lives of citizens and people he loves can depend on him, the hero again becomes Spider-Man. Not everyone is given this gift. Besides, who, like him, will protect the city from a new supervillain - Doctor Octopus.
I also want to highlight the scene of saving people on the train. This is truly a superb feat of Spider-Man. Despite extreme pain, the hero still survived, saving a huge number of citizens.
Thus, “Spider-Man 2” is a very good continuation of the first part, which improved the plot, music and special effects.

Did anyone accidentally lose a bunch of twenty-dollar bills tied in rubber bands? We just found the rubber band. (c)
If a particular film has successfully shown itself at the box office, and even more so if in addition it has also achieved a lot of positive reviews from critics, then a sequel to it is inevitable. The only problem is that the sequel is not always able to repeat the success of the original. Fortunately, there are always exceptions to any rule. When the sequel is not only not worse, but even better than the original (overhand recall the second part of “Terminator”, “Back to the Future”, the fifth episode of “Star Wars” and many other sequels). Sam Raimi’s first film about our friendly neighbor, Spider-Man, caused a real furor on many people, including myself. And, of course, it’s nice to know that Raimi had a hand in the second film. But even more pleasing was that the sequel was a head taller than the original. And, probably, in all parameters - from the plot and intrigue to graphics and special effects. But everything in order. The second film, like the first and the third, I also watched as a child and, like the first, experienced childhood delight. Over time, this enthusiasm not only did not disappear, but also significantly increased.
I was very pleased with how much the story evolved compared to the first part. Here it is more intricate, more intriguing and more original. If the first film completely focused on the history of formation and the first feat of Peter Parker, then here already in all its glory demonstrate, let’s say, the split personality and emotional anguish of the hero. In addition to being Spider-Man, Peter Parker is an ordinary student, a loyal friend, a beloved nephew and a respectable person. It was very difficult for the hero, because one hindered the other. Throughout its timekeeping, the picture keeps in suspense, the intrigue increases with every minute, as I was eager to see if Peter could figure out what was more important to him, find some balance. Unexpected plot twists have become much more than in the first part, and, consequently, the emotional intensity has reached a higher level, for the characters once again want to worry a lot. In general, the spectrum of emotions that the picture delivers is simply indescribable.
Also, it is impossible not to note a sufficiently deep semantic load. This time we are not reminded that the concepts of power and responsibility are directly related, although almost all of the vital truths described here derive from this. Here we learn that sometimes to achieve something, you need to be able to sacrifice something. Intelligence is not a privilege, it should be put into practice. That everything has to be questioned, even very well-verified data. The presence of these and many other subtexts and bribes this picture. Impressive and comic component, which is perfectly in harmony with the drama. The jokes and funny situations that were present here led to sparkling laughter.
Perhaps the most important parameter by which the second part easily overtook the first is simply luxurious special effects and insanely spectacular action scenes. In general, now it is difficult to surprise anyone with supernatural computer graphics (because there will always be pseudo-experts who will make claims like “so smells like graphics”), but in this case, by the technical standards of 2004, that now the visual component looks simply excellent and juicy, creates a real feast for the eyes and gives the picture energy and dynamics. The coolest and most spectacular scene I consider the battle of Spider and Octopus on the train. Well, the numerous flights of Spider-Man around the city are breathtaking.
Toby Maguire played much better than in the first film. His play is so imbued with all sorts of emotions, which is why I imponently impound Spider-Man in his performance. Toby so wonderfully played the role of a throwing web of a superhero that you willingly believe him, rejoice in his rises and feel sorry for him during his downfalls. Alfred Molina in the image of Dr. Otto Octavius is definitely remarkable. The actor demonstrated an incredibly charismatic, purposeful and colorful villain, whose failure you easily understand and involuntarily begin to empathize with him, and you worry about him as much as the main character, which can be considered a rarity. Kirsten Dunst and James Franco have reached a new level of play. Their characters became much more serious, the relationship between them and Spider-Man worsened, and in general, both Dunst and Franko also played on natural emotions. I would like to say a few words about J. B. K. Simmons, whose character this time became more ironic and drew the comic part of the film. Well, Rosemary Harris in general adequately complements the galaxy of these beautiful actors.
For the soundtrack, masterfully written by Danny Elfman, I again have no complaints. Danny Elfman surpassed himself, and at the same time the work in the first film. The compositions served here not only as a background for everything that is happening, but also one of the important components of the overall atmosphere of the picture.
At the end of the day, Spider-Man 2 is an amazing movie. One of those rare cases when the sequel is not only inferior, but also superior to the original. Fascinating, tense, dynamic, spectacular and spectacular film, which while watching delivers only positive emotions. In short, a film that is not a pity to watch again and again. I would definitely recommend it.

And don’t forget that sometimes we have to show resilience and give up a lot, even our dreams. Thank you all for your attention and pleasant viewing!
In 2002, the first part of probably the most famous Marvel superhero Spider-Man was released. The film had the smallest budget of the entire "Spider" trilogy, but it saw great success. And then two years later comes the second part about the adventures of Peter Parker, who under the mask of Spider saved the city from various villains and various criminals. Did I like that part? Let me tell you something.
Plot. Nothing different from the first part. Peter Parker has to save the city from a villain. This time the villain was Dr. Otto Octavius performed by actor Alfred Molin. Well, the villain was quite successful and it was very interesting to watch his actions.
Characters-Play actors. In addition to Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst performed by Mary Jane, James Franco performed by Harry Osborn, Rosemary Harris performed by Aunt May and J.K. Simmons performed by J. John Jameson returned. They play hard five.
Special effects. The movie’s budget increased by $63 million! Especially, I can't get out of my mind the wonderful scene of the train stop before the final battle. By the way, recently released a new trailer for the movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. And there was a scene where the ship stopped, and it was sawed in half. I think this scene is a hint and an imitation of just that train scene from the second series of the first trilogy.
I can say that the second part of “Spider” turned out even better than the first. And this is the rare moment when the sequel is better than the original. I think this is the best part of the trilogy, both old and new. Although who knows, maybe Homecoming, which will be released very soon, will be better than this part. My assessment:
The most beloved and most desirable! (Here - as in "The Matrix") Viewed in three languages: Russian, Italian and English. Repeatedly. Still loved, kept and beautiful! Despite my age and those 12 years, I still love that part of Spider-Man. And to me, she's the best. And don't even argue!!
... Discarding the backstory, entry, transformation and becoming in the beginning (part 1), the second parts of the themes and beautiful that the beauty and the desired action – here can begin from the very beginning of the film, and none of those introductions – do not wait! So, the second spider actually begins!
I think the second part is great! From the graininess of the picture... to the selection of actors even in the most episodes! I like it here - Everything!
As far as I know, the film was shot in the winter-spring period of 2003, and it is at this time that the colors of everything you see on the street, especially on a sunny day, have their different, but even more attractive, more beautiful shade. I saw something similar in Rome in December, and this is what I saw in this part. It is difficult to explain in words, but you can observe this in your city on a cool autumn-winter-spring day, when the day is cloudless and the sun shines very brightly.
The film is full of different bright events. I would even note the fact that the attention is distributed on several important components and these components are not two, not three, but much more! And here they are:
- is primarily the love of Peter and Mary Jane. She's reached a new level. Unaware of the fact that Peter is a superhero, M.J. reaches out with all his heart to him (continuing the ending of the first part), but, for obvious reasons, the guy can not reciprocate her. But she sees perfectly well what he wants. And loves her. That is why he constantly fights for only 3 words from him, and such long-awaited: I love you! The most interesting thing is that Peter has to reciprocate the girl he always dreamed of and who always seemed out of reach for him. At the same time, he tries not to move away from her and, apparently, this mystery and illogicality can not let the girl go free. She is intrigued and at the same time really sympathetic to Parker. And it is the relationship between the two that is devoted to the main part of the plot ...
But the most excellent, this love, against the background of fiction, against the background of sunshine and night darkness New York, life turmoil and career plans, it is truly beautiful, diverse, unexpected, predictable and sincere.
.. Sometimes I want to say with Peter's lips: "I love you ..."
-Amur amur, but, first of all, it is still a militant. Where the only and most important antihero is traced is Dr. Octavius (Octopus) performed by Alfred Molina, who, like William Defoe, became for me a man of one role.
The image of Doc has already turned out to be famous. His assistants - mechanical tentacles - are really impressive and cute. Overall, Octavius produced very pleasant and savory scenes. Whether it is with a loving and supportive spouse in everything - and let her in the film a little, but their mutual sympathy and additions to each other can not be felt. Or spectacular battles with Spider... And the battle on the roof of the train is one thing worth it!
In short, the character turned out to be colorful, memorable and striking in the eyes and memory. And not only from the evil side...
-The relationship between Peter and Harry. Sam is now, from the beginning of the film, taking us seamlessly to what it should have been: from friendship to hate, one step. Almost every scene with Harry is filled with the desire of his eyes to avenge his father. This revenge sits very strongly in him, he is not going to let it go, no matter how his father treats him before.
.. And whoever stands in his way, Harry intends to kill him at all costs.
-Peter Parker as an independent and adult young guy. This is the next component of the plot after love, enemy, enemy of the future, and now friend.
Pete now lives alone, on his own, in a seedy apartment rented from a Russian immigrant. Slowly trying to get on their feet or at least to hold on to them.
Visits the university, works as a courier, runs away from the tenant of the apartment and visits his aunt. Peter Parker - really matured and his New World, where there is no care and affection of his uncles and aunts nearby - much more interesting and fascinating than the former, childish. But even more sad...
- Spider's superpower does not last forever and ends suddenly as it began. So maybe we should go back to the ordinary world and fix Pete's life, his student successes, his relationship with Mary Jane and find a part-time job? Does this power from above have a limit? And Peter Parker, that's all. Peter Parker and nothing more? ... i>
.. The most interesting thing is that it is only now, many years later, that I have noted Dr. Connors and the absence of his arm, which I have not noticed before. Spotted in the episode "Stan Lee" for his, as always, shocking look. And I started empathizing with Dr. Otto...
For me, after so many years, the film has now opened in a different, perhaps more adult way. I wrote a little above that in this part, Peter Parker has grown up and the life around him has changed, so I am now, in two thousand seventeenth, I have grown up myself, and now I look at my favorite film with the same enthusiasm and love, but already on a different level. And thinking...
Over the years, the film has not been different for me. And he didn't get any worse. It has become more than just a movie.
... You can treat comics differently, but it is the second part of Spider-Man with Toby Maguire for me will forever remain the personification of the ideal film adaptation of the world-famous fantastic fairy tales of American authors.
The best and most loved! . .
Someone, going to this film back in 2004, even thought that the picture will be even better than the first part. It seems to me that even the kindest and most polite critics believed that Sam Raimi, after the success of the first part from a friendly neighbor, would “deflate” and make a movie just to raise money on the hype. It's not! The director approached the picture even more responsibly. And, looking at all the work he did, I want to applaud standing up! The film won a considerable number of awards, and after watching, no one should have any doubts about this.
The plot was a direct continuation of the original, not another story about the struggle of Spider and a new villain. The main antagonist, Dr. Octopus, has evolved even more. Yes, he went mad, too, not because of the super serum, but because of the damage to the mechanism, which forced him to create his new project, which almost destroyed the entire city, and even the planet. Peter Parker, despite his abilities, works honestly and earns a living. This topic is well set here and plays a significant role. Again, the theme of Peter and MJ’s relationship is played out, not love, but relationship. When you watch it, you always think of Mary Jane, ‘You knew who he was to you in the first movie.’ What are you doing? A lot of things are repeated from the past picture. Parker again drags pictures of Spider-Man and listens to J.J. Jameson's displeasure, Aunt May holding on but worrying about Peter even if it's not visible. All the characters seem to do the same, but it looks much better. From the characters I can also highlight Mr. Ditkovich.
The plot by concept is almost the same. Only instead of becoming the main character, it shows how he behaves in everyday life as a hero, and then experiences problems with abilities. And the only thing that bothered me was that when Spider-Man stopped producing the cobwebs, the corresponding sound was made. With this sound, Peter may have felt some vibrations, felt that there was a disturbance in the body, and it is very interesting to imagine how a person experiences problems with what ordinary people do not have. Parker is already a student here, but seems to have grown up a lot. There's a lot that could have affected that, but watching the hero you saw last time you were a high school kid is very exciting. But the main villain is not remembered so well. Not because he was poorly played or didn’t fit into the concept of Raimi’s films, but because he was shown and mentioned only here, then Norman Osborne is shown all three films, but both of these villains play an important role in the trilogy.
Again, you can praise the soundtrack and the camera work, which I think looked better here. But the most memorable moment is when Peter loses his abilities. The New Yorker's most common action is "Raindrops keep falling on my head." Oh, it's divine! The special effects also look fresh, and compared to the last part, here the computer graphics look good and modern even now. Of course, the budget was allocated even more. And it was the right thing to do, because Sony bosses needed money, and Sam Raimi wanted to make Spider-Man the best he could. But the field shooting, where it seemed there was computer graphics, was very much. This is a huge plus for all of this!
With Spider-Man 2, Sam Raimi showed everyone how to shoot sequels at the same level as the originals. Back in 2004, when I was a teenager, Spider-Man 2 was my most anticipated movie. I've been waiting for him more than the return of the king. I was particularly drawn to having one of my favorite animated series villains, Dr. Octavius. I was eager to see this character with mechanical tentacles on the big screen.
My review will follow the principle of comparing the two parts of Spider-Man. And since I'm talking about Dr. Octavius right away, let's compare him to the Green Goblin. As an evolved villain in his final form, Octavius is certainly superior to the Goblin, despite the fact that he doesn’t even have a costume – only tentacles. He wears a regular coat. The lack of a costume embarrassed me a bit at first, but it was still obvious that he was cooler than the Goblin. And quite another matter Otto Octavius is a man, before becoming a villain. He's considerably duller than Norman Osborne. The latter had a great motivation, he sacrificed himself for science and fell victim to it, followed by a fleeting split of personality and a kind of confrontation in Norman’s head between sanity and the Goblin. Otto Octavius is nauseous. A physicist, but at heart the deepest romantic and philosopher, who at leisure with a stranger talks about the aspects of love and poetry. If someone told me that from people I don't know, I'd think he was crazy. Otto Octavius is kind as Santa Claus, and his further crimes (which by all laws cannot be committed by a person of such kindness) are explained by a malfunction of the protective mechanism against the highest artificial intelligence.
But as Otto Octavius transforms into Doctor Octopus, a parade of emotions begins. I already said in my review of the first Spider-Man that I really like fighting in this trilogy. Here, Spider-Man is not just an acrobat, he fights hand-to-hand and treats a flurry of blows to the face of his oppositionists. More advanced technology has helped bring this combat to a new level in Spider-Man 2. The fights of the two main characters just go off scale. The scene of a fight on the roof of a train with Spider-Man flying through an above-ground pedestrian crossing is just something. The moment he fell from the train to the roadway is also incredibly beautiful. And all this beauty is crowned with a great muzzle! The muzzle, the muzzle, the muzzle! Euphoria!
Peter and Harry's relationship developed further. The jealousy that matured in Harry when his father praised Peter’s achievements, or when it became apparent that Harry was losing Mary Jane, finally burst out. This plot line gives the viewer stunning dialogues of friends whose relationships are heated. These moments give emotions and experiences. I have a lot of friends that I wouldn’t want to lose because of quarrels and omissions. I think everyone fears that. Accordingly, everyone can imagine the grief of such discord.
I think I liked the sequel less than the original. In the first part, absolutely all the scenes of the film were necessary. In the sequel, there is an excess of irritating dialogue in the spirit of “love and dislike” with Mary Jane (she apparently does not know what she wants, despite her intention to get married), and “to be or not to be” about whether Peter will remain Spider-Man or fold a suit and live a normal life again with Mary Jane. There's too much of this snot. I’m not talking about the conversations between two friends or Peter and Aunt May about the circumstances of Uncle Ben’s death. The only annoying thing was the constant clarification of the relationship between Peter and MJ.
Everything else is perfect. I’m glad that the best comic book movie ever was about my favorite childhood superhero. But I have such absolute love only for the Sam Raimi trilogy, the films of Mark Webb were somewhat weaker in my opinion.
In conclusion, I want to turn to the respected admins of our favorite Movie Search – change this wretched poster to the original on the page of the film Spider-Man 2. This black picture resembles a hack in Photoshop. It hurts a fan to see her.
The second part of Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy is distinguished primarily by a very high-quality level of special effects. This part of all three is the only one that received an Oscar for special effects. And she got it for a reason. In fact, oddly enough, but franchises are able to degrade in terms of special effects. But it is much more logical when each subsequent blockbuster series increases both the quantity and quality of the blockbusters. Spider-Man 2 has kept pace with the times, using the best visual effects possible for that year. Technically, this series is the best in the trilogy. The scene of the fight between Doctor Octopus and Spider-Man, generally speaking, is really stunningly shot.
The new main villain is more charismatic and fearsome than the Green Goblin. The green goblin is still largely a comic villain, scenes with him look more like a smile. Doctor Octopus is a more serious character, albeit from the same largely humorous universe.
Otto Octavius is a very interesting character from the beginning. His questions about whether Marconi opened the radio in a dream, whether Beethoven wrote the 5th symphony, he makes us remember Alexander Popov, who according to Soviet historiography is the discoverer of radio, and Dmitry Mendeleev, about whom there is a legend that he discovered the periodic table of chemical elements in a dream. But it is not a fact that many American philistines know the names of Popov and Mendeleev. An ardent fan of the film “Until he played in the box” may well say that the radio was opened not by Marconi and not by Popov, but by Nikola Tesla. In general, a little thing like who exactly a person considers the discoverer of radio can say quite a lot about a person. After all, Marconi was rather “one of them”, and in addition, he later joined the fascist party, became a member of the Grand Fascist Council. Although a pro-Western “skeptic” or Western layman may not agree with me, I will not argue much. And yet, it seems to me, most likely, on an intuitive level, the creators of the word in the mouth of Otto Octavius put adequate personalities in general.
For Otto Octavius, scientific fanaticism is above morality. Above human lives. And it is not surprising that he so easily lost control of himself when the chip that was supposed to prevent artificial intelligence from taking possession of it broke.
The real meme was Jameson's stunning laugh scene in which Peter Parker asks for his advance. Indeed, Simmons played her amazingly. He still pleases us with his phrases that cancel out what he said a few seconds ago.
What should we call it?
- Uh-uh... Dr. Octopus!
- What a shit...
- Mmm. Scientist Caracatica?
- Shit!
- Dr. Strange?
- Not bad. But there is one. That's right, I know, Doctor Octopus! .
The romantic line is very well revealed. The lover of the main character now claims not only the best friend, who is the son of the previous main villain and who does not know that Spider-Man is Peter Parker, but also the son of the editor of the very unfortunate newspaper. And this whole love story about Peter's feelings about this, about debt, is very detailed and emotional. Although not losing the old naivety that was in the first “Spider-Man”, but not yet turning into the outright stupidity that will be in “Spider-Man 3”.
Little did I understand why Peter began to have problems with the secretion of the web. Maybe there's an explanation in the film, if you look very closely, maybe there's a certain canonical explanation beyond that, but I didn't get the reason. It's a nervous strain, isn't it? Perhaps this is one of the main drawbacks of the film - the understatement of this moment.
In general, Peter Parker seems too “right”. Having such abilities and living in a world where darkness darkens people who have ill-gotten fortunes of billions of dollars, he could well steal a little for himself in order not to experience financial difficulties. But he doesn’t, and diligently works for a dorky newspaper editor who is obsessed with turning the people against Spider-Man. Trying to work as a pizza delivery man for an inadequately demanding boss. But it may be that in our world we should really try with all our might not to multiply evil, even by such small things as stealing from thieves.
The greater the power, the greater the responsibility.
I’ll start with a small downside to the film. It will be a long beginning. If in the first part it was justified by the fact that it was necessary to show the story of the appearance of the hero, then there is a sluggish and long tie to nothing. People want to see the action soon.
The rest of Spider-Man 2 is pretty good. The actors did not play better than in the first part, but not worse. They definitely keep their level. In my opinion, not fully revealed the hero Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus). The reasons for his actions and motives in the film remain unclear.
Special attention deserves the scene of the battle on the train. That's what really struck me. That’s what I expected from the second part. I can't help but admire the scene of the bank robbery and the denouement of the whole picture. The dynamism and spectacle there was at its height!
I liked the music. This is what you need for a movie like this.
Result. The first part of the movie “Spider-Man” turned out to be better, but just a little bit.

I think most of us know Spider-Man, but there are no good movies to be honest about him. The restart came out mid-range, but here's "The New Spider-Man:" “High Voltage” is bad at all, as is the 3rd part about the spider with Toby, but I love the second part about the spider with Toby in the title role of course. And what I liked more about it was the main antagonist played by Alfred Malina. The main antagonist of the film, of course, has its goal, and by the way, the game of Alfred Malina himself is just as good, the character turned out with charisma. But this is Mary Jane, who constantly needs to be rescued and who can not really decide who she still needs.
But in fact, most trilogies become bad from the second part, but the main thing is that the second part about the spider itself is quite at the level of the first. There is also an interesting, charismatic antagonist, not a bad game by James Franco, an interesting plot, not bad characters. The only thing I didn’t like about this movie was Mary Jane. She looks like an ordinary girl who just needs to be saved. I was especially annoyed that she couldn’t decide what she really wanted. As for me, Gwen in the “New Spider-Man” dilogy turned out much better than the local Mary Jane.
As a result, Spider-Man 2 was a good sequel to the first part about Spider-Man. The film is dynamic, exciting, and as you can see, the film itself is interesting. There's a good, charismatic antagonist here. I liked the acting of Alfred Molina, Jasm Franco and Tobey Maguire was not bad either. Well, Kirsten Dunst is just not bad here, no more (and I really don't like Mary Jane herself here). And so, as I said, it's an interesting movie, full of many positive qualities, and the only thing I didn't like was, as I said, Mary Jane herself. An interesting movie about Spider-Man, which is definitely worth watching for Marvel fans and those who have not yet been able to see this film (I know that there may be such).

From the formidable poster, I remember, boiled fan blood, and the pulse went mad in a gallop. On it was the figure of an elderly man, turned so that in the foreground were aggressively open mouths of metal tentacles, and the eloquent caption “Here are such enemies will have to fight now Spider-Man”. The film came out, there were fights in it, and even quite tolerable. But there was something else. Something that has baffled even the most stubborn spider-lovers. The old joker has gone somewhere - great, cool, cool! But who is it instead? Hell, Parker wasted his glasses, and the Broadway promenade with the idiotic dance is now sweeter than spiderweb flights. And he would go to hell with that thug, pretending to be either a high-tech octopus, or a futuristic cuttlefish. We've got a drama, let's meet the drama. And the comic book took a day off - for several spider years.
As it became clear already at the stage of teaching, Sam Raimi again decided to use the antagonist grand villain from the Marvel universe. Doctor Octopus is a person even more remarkable than the lunatic Green Goblin, and Alfred Molina is not a coven of any kind, there is also an external resemblance to the painted original. The more incomprehensible is who he ended up portraying? A failed scientist? A heartbroken madman? A notorious criminal? This scoundrel, in his classical image, must be a little bit of everything, but above all a man who put science at the service of his greed and cruelty. And the most striking, the first part of the film just went in this direction with only one subtle, at first, nuance. No matter how bastard Octavius is, he's the owner of his weapon, but not the other way around. The film showed a criminal who is not a criminal, but only a victim of his own invention. Nothing is more absurd in relation to a significant character and it was impossible to invent.
What about a movie that builds on the success of its predecessor? A hero who has lost faith in his own abilities for nothing. A villain who follows the itchy tentacles. Hero's girlfriend, running between three guys. A hero's friend, eager to avenge his father's death. The latter is still somehow in its place, and James Franco is well invested in the character, which eliminated the need to compare it with the original source. But all the other actors are a pack of tadpoles, aimlessly scurrying around the backwater. Spider-Man is supposed to be doubtful, it humanizes him, but not in such a creepy and overplayed way as Tobey Maguire did. It is impossible to determine immediately where this bubby-eyed young man is more ridiculous: as a pizza deliveryman, bleating before a self-indulgent newspaper owner or droolingly justifying himself to a teacher. And all the same, they are trying to convince us that this is a superhero, terrifying everyone in a mask! Well, Spider can't be a hopeless smudge! About the number of people who by the end of the film are aware of its secrets, it is better to keep silent altogether - idiocy is contagious.
The funny thing is that for all the stupidity of the picture, the right thoughts sometimes slip through it. "He's just a creepy jerk" is MJ's surprisingly accurate metaphor for Parker, and the best Kirsten Dunst has said in the trilogy. Hard on a righteous superhero? But objectively, if he instead of coming to terms with his fate and bear the horror of New York crime, endlessly whines, is not able to help his beloved aunt and is not able to get at least once to the play of his beloved girl. Why superpowers if they turn the possessor into a rag? Not in the crotch, but in all the joints and folds! However, it is necessary to give credit - for the "junk" musical accompaniment under the motif "a man, but a spider, without him we are like without hands" and such a turntable will work. Most importantly, the girls will be delighted, Toby is so cute!
Some vitality and increased quality of special effects sequel is not deprived. The scene with the moving car, though absurd, but well staged. However, neither she nor the memorable appearance of the Octopus does not make the film a success. Moreover, the old problems remained unresolved. It seemed to some that Dunst was doing everything right, and that Maguire needed only to remove his mask as a trump card. No, no and no again. Intrusive melodrama so much that it destroys all reasonable (and they are, oddly enough) beginnings of the Director. Having departed from the canon, the authors did not come to something independent, at least one that would become interesting. All the talent of Molina was scattered to the wind snotty script, and with a love couple, almost grew to a full swing company, everything was clear from the first film. And the saddest thing is that since the release of this picture to this day it is considered almost the ideal of spider transposition. Somewhere he, this ideal, is, well, and the brainchild of Raimi is suitable only for a cheap medical book devoted to the treatment of itching in the back of the head.
