A few words about this long beloved / unloved series. I didn’t really think of writing anything about him. Something did, though. I wanted to stop watching it a few times, but I started again after each episode. I did. I may have been hacked, too.
The series has several levels.
Level 1. The human self in all its multitudes. My favorite subject. There's so much stuff in us. How many friends and howls inside us. The thought arises: it is madness or strength. Accept yourself or be treated. Does the truth belong to the person himself or to the society that labels madness? Our superpower was called schizophrenia by society, and we were convinced that we were not our own. This is a conspiracy! All would be well, but the subject is painfully beaten. And powerful work. It all started with Fight Club and went into absolute Split. In the middle is the Legion series. Mr. Robot did not add anything to this topic.
Level 2. Freedom. Eternal El Dorado. They fight for her and she is always missing. Epochs change, and there is none. Do you need it? Maybe this is just a kind of chop to somehow justify the meaninglessness of existence. Everything would be fine, but our freedom was taken away. Suppose people were given it. What's next? Who to blame all the grievances on? If it weren’t for the evil corporations, the shadow governments, and the 10 and 100 that rule the world, they would have been invented anyway. People gave their freedoms and got the yoke of the state. It is always easier to take responsibility for your life. In childhood, parents, then society. The topic is not new since the days of the great French Enlightenment.
The series is secondary in everything. Nope. For the first time in the arena so brightly brought a new superhero – IT. All the old themes are playing in new ways. It is interesting to see what can be done by a crazy IT-anarchist who dreams of giving freedom to society. These new heroes are modern gods or prophets of a changed reality. They destroy the old world, creating a new one in their own mind. A world without borders and privacy. These new Leviathans, nerds in the Black Hoodies, possess an unlimited power that no Masonic lodges dreamed of. However, everything new falls on the old skating. There are people behind everything, as they say in the series. All the prophets and gods, conquering the world for a good purpose, begin to serve themselves and consume each other. They become tyrants under a new guise. Their path is sealed. It is impossible to make your ideas about good and evil painlessly universal standard. This is how man is made, this is how the world is made. One person or group cannot be the measure of all things. There's no need for violence. An eternal cycle that repeats over and over again. How can you not remember well started, but foolishly finished, the Matrix? Dialectics: cause and effect, beginning and end, all are the same.
Malek. He is also the new prophet of modern cinema. Hollywood, so happy to accept it, can destroy it. All the new charisma will go into circulation and will be spent on blockbusters and secondary thrillers. I don't want that. However, it is possible and it is already predetermined.
The main reason for this is that the creators of the series clearly did not even estimate where the narrative will turn. Not the plot, but some rags - solid holes; episodes squeezed into it is not clear why and / or going nowhere. Events develop chaoticly, in no way consistent with the ' hints' given to the viewer earlier. Yeah, unpredictable, but somehow pointless. In an attempt to surprise the viewer, the filmmakers ' lost all sorts of shores'.
The second is that the series is a wild mix of everything that came to hand. Can't ' give birth ' your own original product? Cut your favorite ideas from publicly available sources and make them mold ' your '.
Characters are not ' sustained ' - their actions do not correspond to the stated characteristics - the characters act as the plot needs, and not as the character would act, based on personal motives, temperament, features ... The motives of the actions of the heroes are a separate topic. I don't even want to talk about it.
Absolutely unsuccessfully (in my opinion) the actor was selected for one of the leading roles. I mean Christian Slater. First, from the very first shot he appeared, it feels like he is a star in this series. Secondly, the actor himself is perceived quite the opposite of what is needed for his hero. The seemingly rational, restrained, thoughtful Slater had to play a reckless and dangerous type. Therefore, and ' did not play ' Yes, talented and charismatic, but the role is clearly not his.
From the positive – in general, an interesting protagonist, some interesting plot developments, intriguing turns of events (there are many, but they are drowning in a pile of unstructured narrative).

These days, they become obsolete quickly. “Mr. Robot” is not a premiere for a long time. So I categorize it as a "must-watch junk." I avoided him for a long time, as well as other mainstream ones, but one day I did get to the company, otherwise it was impossible. And I realized how awfully cool it is in Mr. R's world. So I'm writing a post for those who, like me, have been pulling. Better late.
For the first ten seconds I felt uncomfortable. Then a spark, a storm, one season a day.
What?
We see such a sociopathic (wants to seem like a simple social phobia) computer scientist. He's a talented hacker, he's a smart guy, he lives alone, he doesn't eat or sleep - he's not just a PC user, he works for a company that provides information security and cleanliness of large corporations. He does not believe in people and does not love them, but he feels sympathy for some (for example, a friend). We all like these antiheroes. We love Dexter for his dislike of others. ..
What does it look like?
You will find something similar to Fincher’s Fight Club. But this has already been parsed out in detail by everyone who has written about Mr. R. Like the masks associated with the theme of public vengeance, this is from "For Vendetta." I get it. Even the theme “Where is my mind” appears here.
I love that movie and the other one, and I watched it from around high school. And Mr. R is made and refined for this generation, the new: digital.
If Tyler was in the BC, and he blew up the buildings of financial corporations, then the main psycho is planning an explosion on a completely different level. Guys, of course, look alike. There's also Tyrell, who's a powerful psycho, but in a very different format. In general, psychosis is the main feature of the series, “this is what I love.” Of all the characters, the two most powerful are Eliot and Tyrell. Mr. Robot is also nothing, but you can do without it.
As a result, the genre turns out a certain mixture, with the extraction of the best from the best.
What is good?
Through the lips of a skinny, charismatic drug addict sociopath, the personification of revengeful justice speaks from the screen. Everyone likes it: society is rotten, we only need to demolish the foundations to which we are chained by credit shackles, it is time to change the world. . .
The guy is shuffling, and such an antisocial character with a real superpower (a hacker from God, well!) and no less real charisma just can not help hooking. It's only half the trouble. The series itself is charismatic. The characters are more than clear with them. But the sound, but close-ups with the obligatory bevel to the corner is something. Someone will speak from the right or left corner of the screen. Almost nothing happens in the center. The magic storyboard, where the general background takes up more space than the hero’s face, is fascinating with geometry and color.
Color is a separate theme, we have 50 shades of red and blue (a matter of perception, friends - everyone sees their own), almost no light tone, no sun, and blue sky appears only in ironic insertions à la "Show Truman" or color "Pleasentville". Often you catch the feeling that you are not a spectator, but a spectator, that you were here by chance, that now there is one wrong click or tap - and that's it, the end of the adequate world. The atmosphere in this regard is another fire plus.
A timeless depiction of modernity, where the usual appearance of things is combined with a sense of the future - either because of gloomy halftones, or because of the overwhelming reach of corporate control, or because of the infinity of information technology capabilities, so clearly formulated in the series. What to grasp, what to react to, what to love in the first place - perhaps, there are no more questions to the series.
It doesn’t matter how long ago he left.
I was only able to watch Mr. Robot 2 times. This happens when emotional expectations or re-information mistakenly anticipate the plot and misinterpret the idea, which, in fact, prevents you from correctly experiencing the story and following the plot.
Mr. Robot has explicit references to Fight Club, but the creators of the series not only do not hide this, but also emphasize its connection with Fincher’s picture, both through audio (The Pixies’ song “Where Is My Mind” (1988) at the end of episode 9) and various visual techniques. The first and obvious similarity is the alter ego as a separate character, distinguished not only by the plot (i.e. motivation), but also visually (light, color, and of course clothing). Also an obvious reference to the Fight Club meeting and conversations of individuals in public transport (airplane and bus in BC and metro train in MR).
But, despite the obvious and intentional similarities, they have significant plot differences regarding the history and development of the characters. While Edward Norton's character is intentionally impersonal and lacks not only any background beyond his current routine, from which Tyler is meant to save him, but even a name, Malek's character story includes flashbacks from Elliot's childhood that will gradually shed light throughout the seasons on the true causes of his dissociation. Durden, like Mr. Robot, had the goal of destroying the system. But for him it was rather a logical development of the idea of personal self-destruction. For Slater’s hero, destroying the system for the sake of self-assertion and saving the world was the main task. Another difference is the complete opposite of Pitt’s character to the main character, while Mr. Robot is a logical development of Elliot’s own idea, elevated to the highest degree.
The writers of Robot did a great job, even taking into account the clinical aspect of DID and bringing to the forefront not only economic problems and the problem of cyber security, but also other social problems, primarily violence. Mr. Robot will appeal to business sharks and IT-snits and psychoanalysts.
Mr. Robot has every chance to become a cult series among a certain category, and we are not talking about hackers or programmers, but about people who are tired of monotony in movies and TV. Many commentators talk about the similarity with this or that film, but this is only the top layer. If you dig deeper, there are a lot of distinctive features that make it absolutely unique in its kind. The way the material is presented, together with unusual and innovative, as for me, camera work and wonderful music can present any known story in a way that it sounds new.
Plot.
For those who were not particularly enthusiastic about the first season, it is highly recommended not to watch the rest, because only imbued with the unique atmosphere of the series, you can go deeper. Mr. Robot knows how to surprise, and do it in the most sudden moment. When it comes to shadow government, I would like to express a special gratitude to the creators. This aspect of the series is probably the most polished, the relationships, the characters of these dark horses are calibrated to the millimeter. Also, I would like to note the constant growth of the global nature of everything that is happening. I heard a lot about the fact that the second season will definitely become a cult, and yes, for connoisseurs of the series it is simply magnificent, but despite this, the third season was able to surprise, I do not know what the finale of this story is, and I really hope that the writers do not decide to lengthen it for the sake of ratings and some financially profitable sequels, there is a story with a beginning and an end, and I want to believe that everything will end at its peak.
Submission.
Separately, I would like to note the presentation of everything that is happening. Mr. Robot has moved away from the standard manner of narration and treats the viewer simply unceremoniously. You know no more of the main characters, and sometimes less, you are constantly kept in the dark and when the characters are shocked, you are surprised with them. I really like that we are not allowed to look behind the scenes, from which we immerse ourselves in the series with our heads, think together with the characters, analyze. And together with camera work, acting, musical component, editing, all this merges into a completely unusual symbiosis. The pitch in Mr. Robot is such that you won't confuse it with anything if you get into it, of course. A lot has been said about camera work, but it is impossible not to mention it, all this new quarters, the wrong location of the cameras, the placement of central objects somewhere in the corner, go only into the hands of the series, at first it is not customary to perceive it, but then you just get high, you just enjoy how geometry emphasizes what is happening. Moreover, I start in recent movies, TV shows, sometimes, to meet these chips. The creators dropped all the norms and did it their way, which is cool. Also, I can’t help but mention the series, shot on a single frame, it is so lively, so spectacular, and the most interesting that at the same time it retains all the camera chips and plans. I think it's a lot more interesting than Birdman.
Actors.
The cast of the series will not seem familiar to you, it is for the best, because everything is completely in its place, I can not imagine any replacement, it is clear that everyone has been hatching his image all this time. I was surprised when I found out that the female part of the cast was not even nominated for any awards, because, in my opinion, the actress playing Angela is simply magnificent, this image I will generally see in her for a very long time, character development, growth, I think the actress just incredibly grew along with her character. A similar story applies to Tyrel Valik, he was hidden from us for a whole season, fueling interest in this character, and it was worth it, the third season is his finest hour.
Total.
Many aspects could still be touched upon, but those who are interested in the series will be happy to discover them for themselves. Mr. Robot is the second series, after True Detective, that turns the game around, a series that gives food for thought, but since the creators do everything as they initially saw in their minds, without paying attention to criticism and complaints, it will not become so massive. The creators, obviously, enjoy what they do, and thank you very much for not following anyone’s lead. The series definitely stands out from the gray mass, you either like it or not, but will not leave indifferent.
And yes, I review Mr. Robot from time to time, and I will continue to do it over and over again, because after that, for a while, you see things differently, you immerse yourself and you feel social. Those who like unusual aftertaste in the movie, will love this series.
10 out of 10
In order to understand why for the third season in a row this series constantly keeps the bar of quality, it is necessary to consider the specifics of its conflicts in each of the seasons presented at the moment.
The first is the struggle of one man with a huge corporation, in which he wins, and losing the fight to a much smaller, but more nimble opponent. The second is the struggle of a person again with a corporation, but already a monstrous conglomerate, which used to pretend to be a comrade, why, despite its secondaryity, the curve of emotions develops and changes still rapidly, and it is not boring to follow it. This is also helped by the conflict ' on the side ': again, the enemy is low, but he is invincible because he is the main character himself - a classic battle with himself, which again the hero does not win. And in the third season, it gets a continuation, growing, after a proper emotional shock, into a different paradigm of development: application. And this happens against the background of a much larger conflict, but not a person with a corporation, but the corporations themselves, where a person is only a mechanism for achieving victory. And again, in the final, the global conflict seems to calm down more or less, coming to some kind of compromise, while the conflict within the framework of third-party mise-en-scene, lower vicissitudes receive a new impetus, acquiring an old rather than a new alternative factor for the development of drama in the future.
By this ' the next ' I mean, of course, the fourth season. It has already been confirmed by the studio and TV channel. And it is clear that if the authors again reveal a worthy global conflict, leading to a general catharsis, at the same time resolving the problems of the end of the third season, this galaxy of episodes will be the last. And honestly, that would be the best option. The fact is that the vector of development of the third-party drama directly refers to the first season, reporting that everything that caused the question will be ennobled by the answer. Personally, I can’t imagine how it will be possible to continue... Unless, stretch the answers or start ' go ' only on a global conflict, the prerequisites for the completion of which are also already given, which again refers to a delay. In general, it is a speech of a different order and in the third season it is not very interesting. Much less interesting than talking exclusively about the fourth season, because expectations from it due to the skill of the authors are again very high: ' Mr. Robot' Having come another suite of series in 2017, did not let down the feelings of fans and, I believe, new viewers.
Adhering to the already established structure, he clearly maintains the style of shooting, the level of acting, the level of nostalgic content of the series, responding in sensual terms at an extremely high level once again. The geometry of the frame is still clear and at the same time minimalist and is a style of pure modernity with its predictable minimalism, at the same time, the color scheme, neon, references to classical cyberpunk, fiction in general, giving you to remember things fashionable in the eighties. Speculating on these layers, the creators still do not forget to experiment, giving themselves free rein in one of the series: the series with Alf in the second season, the virtuoso fifth series in the third.
I mean, what do you mean? From a subjective perspective, the series is still very good. However, of course, it is already saturated with its own conventions, why it is unlikely to start watching it from this very third season. But at the same time, realizing this, he begins to get rid of his own conventions. However, the novice viewer is not easier from this, because he still does not know the underlying causes of the emergence and elimination of the notorious conventions, only indirectly. So there’s another question to ask: Does the third season motivate you to watch the first? The answer is yes. Information is not enough and you want to get it because of an interesting narrative, and a clearly maintained structure is preserved, why even returning back the viewer will not feel some discomfort, but the proper pleasure from the feeling of moral growth of the characters will take. And here’s another plus: each season is another dramatic change in characters. The main character does not change much, but he is an indicator of a moral idea. And if his character remains the same, then this very idea undergoes some changes, at the same time also leaving interesting for the audience and Elliot (Rami Malek), who, once again faced with a life dilemma, no longer seeks to solve it at the expense of others, but tries to see the problem in himself, allowing others to change themselves. . .
The plot is as relevant in our time, when humanity is increasingly leaving its life on the Internet: meeting, communicating, storing data there. In the plot there is a world not too distant future, where the whole cult of consumerism is run by a certain E Corp (' Evil corp'). The protagonist is a social phobia. It does. During the day - a cybersecurity engineer, at night - 'V' from 'V for Vendetta', Batman on the expanses of virtual spaces, hacker. He leads such a double life, rather haphazardly and without an ultimate goal, until one day he is found by a group of cyber-anarchists who have a couple of great ideas about how to undo this system.
The series is about everything: the vices of modern society, the consequences of global computerization, and the courage and ability to go against the system. If you’ve watched 'Black Mirror' (and also in the same indescribable delight of it) – definitely like it.
Also bribes a serious technical part of the series: the characters work on the included computers and write code not in the Word - geeks will appreciate.
What is also remarkable: in addition to the overall final musical theme, the series with the Fight Club & #39 has a lot in common.
Mind games, corporations, the hacker community and their multi-movements plus a little drama and an admixture of "Fight Club" is here and the cherished "Mr." Robot.
So dear viewer on the agenda of the series Mr. Robot "Mr. Robot". And I'll start with the fact that the series has many interesting thoughts and messages and unexpected plot twists that undoubtedly attract. There is a certain charm of the series. Well, it is worth highlighting a rather interesting and very elaborate hacker theme with UNIX-systems, Raspberry Pie's and other vagabonds.
“A breath of fresh air” amid the dominance of stories about cops, the topic with relationships and superheroes.
The series reveals what is really happening in society, at least in the US (and perhaps in the whole world). We're being shown what people who don't have money and power can do, but who can take it all away with the Internet. Many will be able to see themselves in secondary heroes, to varying degrees, people who make cycle after cycle: loans, social networks and purchases.
The main character, Elliot is a hacker, a social phobia, an extremely closed person with many cockroaches in his head. Ambiguous, rather strange, but catchy, as confusing as computer code, which he writes all day long. Elliot's got the whole show on him. Perhaps the most important component of the script is the dramaturgical monologues of the protagonist about work, love, and society. Why monologues? Why are there so many monologues? Good question. In this light, one cannot but note the acting of Rami Malek, again and again turning Elliot’s heart outward.
Elliot is a good person (a good person is someone who does nasty things without pleasure), he has a sharpened sense of justice, he unselfishly helps his psychotherapist in the difficult business of getting rid of a lustful boyfriend - a polygamist. Elliot courageously refuses drugs, as the dealer has penetrated too deep into the soul (and not only) of his beloved pusher Sheila. In order to expose a pervert in the era of high technology, you only need access to Facebook or email. Naive users are mistaken, believing that their dirty little secrets are protected by a password, for Elliot this is not a barrier.
Having lost a sweaty forehead after a night struggle with scoundrels and perverts on the network and once again coping with a nacrotic outcast, Elliot goes to work in a corporation specializing in data protection. So Elliott's job is to protect by day what he hacks at night. Beating off another ddos - an attack on the system resource of the company - the client, Elliot meets the head of the hacker group, a bumsy eccentric nicknamed Mr. Robot. Mr. Robot is a revolutionary in the era of Twitter and Facebook, he hatches the idea of bringing down the debt data system, and thereby provoke an economic crisis of global proportions.
Elliot is disgusted with democratic values, but the methods of the F-community (the organization headed by Mr. Robot) do not suit him. How will Elliot find a way out of this situation? That's one of the big questions in Elliot's head. And how many more are there? Everything comes from the head and is in it, right?
“Mr. Robot” is a logical cultural trend of the XXI century. The authors show us what a revolution it is in the information society, what a modern hero it is, and what millions are ready to follow. Screenwriters skillfully went through many sick topics, exaggerating both the shortcomings and advantages of modern people. And this, like everything above, is only the visible part of the “iceberg”, which in pieces opens to us during the series.
We end up with a tragic, dynamic, highly social drama series. Of course, “Mr. Robot” is not an ideal, but its courage, bold message and beautiful form of narrative do not give a single chance to remain indifferent.
I recommend watching. I advise you to approach him with a clean head.
I followed the advice of an old friend and started watching the show. Just today I watched three episodes of the second season and zero was the app. From the first episodes of the first season, I immediately liked the main character Elliot performed by Rami Malek, with his paranoia and sociopathic personality, only one was enough. For me personally, other characters have taken a back seat. His genius, drug addiction and quiet madness blended organically into a poisonous cocktail! Nothing more is needed for an idealistic hacker who wants to save the world and free people from the oppression of big corporations and banking systems.
The essence is quite relevant and as close as possible to the real world and our time. Parallels of the events of the series and what is happening in the world often overlapped. It seems to me that free black hackers are in the past because, thanks to their abilities, they were recruited by intelligence agencies and other security agencies, and the other part found its place in corporations or organizations that somehow deal with large flows of information and everything related to it. So that none of them will come up with the idea to destroy the puzzles of the system and sow chaos. Is the Anonymous subculture still alive? After all, there are many events in the series that are associated with this movement. Even the masks in which hacktivists from “Fucking Society” posted their video messages resemble the mask of Guy Fawkes.
I also want to note the struggle of the protagonist with both external aspects and his inner world. All this is vividly shown under the beautiful compositional work by Mac Quayle. In general, for me personally, the soundtrack is always an integral and one of the main parts for creating a series or film. For me, even the video sequence of the 25th frame, without sound accompaniment, does not matter.
So literate script, color, picture and sound, together give us a quality product with its idea and philosophy for thought. Good to see you!
This series doesn’t seem like it really is. There is everything that you can cling to a person with a special taste in movies and TV series. But the action looks somewhat protracted, as in most modern TV series. However, the overall impression remains positive. I'm not going to write about the story like other people do. I'm just saying that if you didn't like it the first time, you should put it off. All in good time. It is necessary to approach each piece of this puzzle meaningfully. You need to study each character under a microscope. Every moment in every episode...
As for the main character, he is in many ways a typical representative of the modern world. Maybe a little grotesque. But clearly expressed social phobias you still among the people around you, you will not find. And in life, they're not like Elliot. And all the more striking is the fact that the bland-looking character is played by a completely different actor. Although other actors in the series, known and not very, often play very similar characters in life. That’s why I want to pay tribute to Rami Malek’s performance. This smiling guy did a good job as a robot guy with amoeba emotions.
Some other actors have also drawn attention to themselves and their work in other projects. I wanted to study their filmography right away. Compare roles.
I’m also interested in Mac Quayle music. The impression of the series is perfectly created and supported. From that about viewing you just rest until something interesting in the plot appears, or an interesting monologue of the hero is uttered. At such moments, all attention is focused and the brain begins to work hard.
For such differences:
So here's Elliott Anderson, a brilliant programmer, a bit of a sociopath, a paranoid guy, and a brilliant guy in every sense. During the day, Elliott saves a giant corporation from attacks by malicious hackers, and at night he himself maliciously hacks it.
There is a boss, a good gay man with a big heart, there is a friend “under Marla Singer”, a friend “we have been from first grade together”, another relatively brilliant programmer with the inscription “eating children” on his forehead or “the bad guy here me”, as you prefer, and other obvious and straightforward things, like Christian Slater.
By the end of the first series, I began to wonder if the writer knew where hommage ended and poor imitation began. After watching the first season, I realized that I don’t know, but it doesn’t matter, because the target audience will forgive everything for being about the Black Cloak of the IT world, and because the caravans of the rich will rob and give everything to the poor. I admit, when the piano version of “Where Is My Mind” played in one of the last episodes, I screamed at how fantastically bad Mr. Robot was.
The characters in this series may be like those Martians from Wacky World. Edmont Hamilton would love to see meaning in their own existence, and the writers who invented them don't know a damn thing about the laws of physics, and in the case of Sam Ismail and Mr. Robot, about causality. They’re just there on the screen, because the script was written, and some man out of his mind gave the go-ahead for its embodiment in a bad version of “Fight Club” and a little pepperoni.
For all this horror, Rami Malek is clearly talented and deserves praise for his mansion. In some places, the visual part and the music are not bad, and this, perhaps, all the positive and ends.
Shot for a generation of snowflakes, meaningless and merciless Mr Robot is still the same story under the SJW brand, in the foreground of which comes secondaryness and the desire to fit into the framework of modern American media - narrative. Good job, bad movie.

It happens that you live quietly in your cozy home and do not touch anyone, when suddenly a wave of unexpected insanity bursts into your life associated with your favorite thing. It's Mr. Robot! Where did you come from and what do you want? No, don't do that!!!
So, this series tells us about a young hacker and skillful coder Eliot, who had a rare opportunity to get into a group of hackers calling themselves ' Fuck society' (FSOCIETY). What hacker does not dream of getting into a cool group of his kind and doing great things? So our hero decides to try to join this ' Secret Club' But not everything is so simple (sunshine and radiant): in order to get into 'Fuck society' Eliot needs to pass a difficult test and prove his loyalty to the cause and society (which is still Nahren), thereby betraying and failing some pathetic people.
You might think that Eliot and other hackers do bad things in the virtual world for fun. Perhaps in some cases this is true. ' But Eliot is not like everyone else!' As it turns out, he dreams of ridding the world of the great and terrible Evil Corporation (only the main character says so, for the rest it is the Z Corporation), which in his opinion is the pinnacle of the evil of mankind. The main character devotes a lot of his free time to this business, sparing neither means nor his forces.
The story is conducted on behalf of Eliot himself, that is, he refers to an imaginary friend (yes, yes, to you). This brings a certain charm to the story itself and its narrative. A young hacker often begins his monologue by addressing you, and his speeches are incomprehensible to ordinary people, because many computer and professional terms are used. Fortunately, Eliot does not only think about computers, but sometimes his monologues make him think about life. Why would a young hacker think about life? That's an interesting question. No, he's not scared of what he's doing. There are some things that concern human problems. This series would be quite dull if only the topic of IT-technologies was touched upon. Here you can see the relationship of people with each other on the part of Eliot, because he knows all the secrets of the people with whom he has to deal (with rare exceptions).
Do you think the story is linear, everything leads to the victory of hackers? It's not as simple as you might think. In the course of the series, I was faced with some cool (incredible and exciting) unexpected turns that changed the perception of the series. If you start watching this series and want to quit it, then you should not do it without watching at least 1 season in full.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention one little important detail: the main character is a social phobia, uncommunicative and unremarkable character. And it’s not hard to get on with that, given that he’ll be mostly communicating with the viewer (an imaginary friend) from the very first moment. It is also not without communication with people around him (real friends, if you can call them that). And there are moments that by their production resemble the beginning of some porn, where before the action itself there is a half-hour plot.
Playing the main actor is great. The other actors are good, with some exceptions. Interesting story, you can see that the writers tried. There were boring moments, but they pale in the background of the rest of the action. In the end, I do not regret that I started watching this series.

Impressions after watching the first series were negative, but after a while, I gave the series a second chance, it was not in vain.
The series tells the story of a young IT specialist Elliot Alderson, who begins his crusade against a large monopoly Evil Corp (the authors of the title ironize the role of the company in the lives of the characters), which Elliot accuses of tyranny towards society. Beyond that, Alderson has personal motives that matter more than it first seems.
The character of the main character is a classic set of sociopaths: secrecy, depression, drug addiction, mental disorders. And Elliot’s main weapon is a virtuoso ability to hack, and subsequently get information about everyone: friends, colleagues, neighbors, etc. Use this information based on your moral principles. This is where Elliot’s tragedy begins. It often involves making difficult moral choices. A kind of modern Raskolnikov, whose moral struggle is skillfully reflected in the relationship of seemingly different characters: Elliot and Mr. Robot. This is undoubtedly the strength of the series. In addition, a very well thought out reception with the destruction of the fourth wall, differently played in two seasons. Of the disadvantages, we can highlight the poor disclosure of the remaining characters, but this may be corrected in the next season.
I would like to note the relevance of the topics raised in the series: total control, protection of personal information, the fight against the system. Also pleased: acting, soundtrack and good directing. I recommend this movie to all fans of a good thriller and drama.
I will say at once that the idea of the series, which I saw in the very first series, I really liked: the main character is a sociopath working in the office during the day, and at night doing justice online, catching all sorts of nasty personalities and handing them over to the police. Personally, it seemed to me that this would always be the case, and deep down I rejoiced, thinking that Elliot (the main character) would put all the villains behind bars and along the way (well, maybe) save the world (alone or not). The first three episodes of the first season went well, but then... Then Elliot begins to talk to an imaginary friend, who ends up being someone very important to him (I won’t spoil it), begins to forget everything and openly does not understand (or refuse to understand) the surrounding reality. It lasts the whole first season and it’s not that bad, but... Then the second season begins. If you’ve watched 'Lost', you’ll probably remember what a leap started after the third season (the disappearance of the island, the second plane, and other events, ' shuffling' every three minutes), so here’s season two 'Robot' it all doubles and triples. Paranoia, riddles, loss of self-control and reality are all present in season two, and if you like extreme clarity and clarity, don’t watch this series, but if you like what happened in staying alive. Then look boldly, and dig into the head of the main character.

I probably had too high expectations, but I would rather say ' no' than ' yes' or ' maybe' Of course, he has fans, fans, but they are, in essence, special people. They want riddles and they want to know, ' how deep is the rabbit hole' and for anyone who likes clarity, I would advise you to choose something else.
Despite the fact that this series I can classify as my favorite, I will try to write with extreme objectivism about its advantages and disadvantages.
Why is it worth watching?
Non-trivial threads of the plot, which every time amaze with their simplicity. An interesting protagonist who is contrasted with typical protagonists in films or TV series. Unfortunately, after the release of Mr. Robot', the public picked up the fashion for antisocialism, social phobia, believing that it all looks great. In fact, the series ' Mr. Robot' is good not only for its relevant plot for the modern world, but also for openly and plausibly illustrating the problems of a person who cannot socialize.
There are many films that try to reveal the topic of people who have any disorders and malfunctions in the psyche. But the more often an idea is repeated, the more trivial its implementation becomes. Fortunately, this is not the story of Elliot Alderson. It is not ultra-unique, but interesting and exciting - of course.
As for the main character, the character is spelled out in great detail. (His actions do not cause a sense of ambivalence, until a certain time.) Here you can answer the competent acting of Rami Malek. From now on it will be difficult to imagine him in another incarnation. (Here, like Radcliffe, who will forever be 'The Boy Who Survived').
The main ' attraction' series, in my opinion - selected angles and color correction. The visual component is perfectly executed. For those who pay special attention, the series goes into the category 'must watch'.
What to close your eyes on:
' Mr. Robot' not ideal in its compositional embodiment, as in the pursuit of the maximum effect of deceived expectations, directors and writers offer us such turns of events, which are difficult to believe. There are not many of them, but they do.
Still, sometimes annoying questions without answers that remain after viewing. I mean those that are hard to lift even from the bottom of deep subtexts.
Overall, a great series that clearly stands out against the typical stories and geeks, sociopaths and technological challenges of our time.
Let's start in order. I have known the series since the very release, when even small introverts had not heard about it.
I decided to write a review after a long time, because it was now that I understood what product we have, despite the long contradiction.
For a long time I could not understand what this creation entails. After watching the first episode, I expected thoughts of the level 'Black Mirror'. About how we live in a world of technology and evil corporations, but I got excited early.
We've been dragging on all season. What are you getting at? We have a Fight Club, great. We also have Guy Fox, which is good. What exactly is this? All thoughts have been said for a long time, it looks like a slob and will only work for children. If you are a vegetable, you will definitely find something new in the series.
Activity.
Christian Slater. The main plus of this pseudo circus. He played well and deserved many awards. Charismatic Tyler Durden.
Martin Volstrom. To be honest, I didn’t know him before, but in the first season I really liked his role. A businessman who does his best by any means. It was interesting to watch his line.
Rami Malek played superficially, in his place you could put a log and nothing would change.
Season 2.
My review would have been neutral, but the second season still set the dots.
To begin with, nothing has happened all season. I literally looked at 11 hours, nothing. Something that could fit into one series.
That’s the problem, in the first season as well as in the second season, you’re wasting your time on unnecessary character lines, wooden dialogue. Each episode can be placed from 40 minutes to 10, nothing will change.
Began to snuggle outright raving, again under the pretexts ' unexpected turns '. Most began to admire it and say it was unexpected, but again a question. What's that all about? Do you have nowhere to fit the plot that you have already begun to insert meaningless riddles for half the season?
The show has everything that little kids need. Social phobia, gays, gadgets, weak dialogues about politics, faith and on the list. We put on anonymous masks and go bend the system. What else is trending?
The writer understands very well who the series is for, and that is Mr. Robot’s best credit. After watching the first episode, a significant part of the audience had mixed feelings of perplexity, but most importantly, there was hope. Hope it's something new. That it's not just a series riveted under a carbon copy for sale, that it somehow echoes the real world. And each of us in particular.
Let’s be clear, targeting is mostly a very young audience. We’ve already had a good time (given what our information world is like), and TV shows, at least new ones, are now of little interest to us. Rather, we learned that they are not filmed for us, and therefore fantasy prevails in them. It is no coincidence that Mr. Robot gives a revolutionary idea, similar to the one that was once shown in ' Fight Club' but strongly elongated and developed. In the first series, the protagonist does not just become a member of a revolutionary group (the principles of which he himself does not understand). No, the creators of the series recruit the viewer into something similar, imperceptible to us, we can not refuse. The idea is too relevant and too fresh. It is not stolen from anywhere, not at all.
But the exhaust is missing something, already in the fifth series felt that somewhere hangs watchdog, and the core is not in a hurry to go to the rebuke, no, the plot begins to loop, as if showing us each time the same from another camera. It is very difficult to feel, if you are easy to buy complex terms, and crazy stories about Tor and hacking Facebook, the basis of the plot is very strong, and throughout the series I managed to see the obvious stupidity on the screen of someone’s terminal only once; no, on the contrary, hackers here really use the most standard tools, make quite real (hacker) devices, in short, do not find fault. Only the main thread is lost somewhere, already at the end of the first season, it just gets boring.
Of course, all these buns in the form of realism and thoughtfulness from the director and screenwriter are very qualitative, but even here it was not without flaws. At a minimum, the main character is an unreal person in himself, and with every look he makes it clear that nothing can be more fictional than himself; despite the fact that he is a great hacker, they are trying to feed us a story about Chinese hackers who, ' clean up & #39; behind our heroes from Manhattan, and in general, do all the dirty work. Wow, those Chinese hackers, just like the Russians. They can be credited with anything they want for the show. So, to get away from fantasy, to touch something alive, did not work. The series quickly slid to the end of the second season to a hodgepodge of very different characters, which in their refined form is impossible to meet in reality. And it feels, it's sad. And first of all, because in the first series we were shown a rather interesting story, albeit with drugs - which in itself is an antagonism of realism, but there was something real about it. No, later all the figures became waxy.
I will continue to watch, but the rain is still there.
In fact, a very dull and uninteresting season. Until the eleventh series with a huge, we can say titanic work watched. The actions of the characters are incredibly stupid, which causes considerable irritation. About a blonde with huge eyelashes generally silent, such brakes have not seen for a long time. Her eternal sloops at the most inopportune moment may not cause suspicion only in an impenetrable idiot.
The thread of what is happening on the screen I lost another series on the third. After that, it was difficult to figure out what they were doing and for what they were running like these secondary, few interesting characters. The character of Rami Malek was so generally pushed into the background, putting forward, as I said, secondary characters. And to tell you the truth, the moments when Elliot was on the screen are hard to call outstanding. Then he is beaten, then stoned, then refrains from spending time with computer technology. The only thing worthwhile, in my opinion, was when he broke into a Christian circle. That was really good. All the rest of the second season is very faded, the characters have ceased to be interesting, and what happens on the screen is even more so.
5 out of 10
There are many series in which the main character lives two lives: by day he is a simple guy, and at night he is a hero. I can’t say that this series differs in essence, but the style itself, the way it is presented to the viewer and, although imperfect, but, undoubtedly, the good performance of the actors drag on.
After watching several episodes, I began to dive into the universe of the character, began to appreciate moments with his monologues, plans and experiences. ' Empty' GG dialogues no longer seem like a flaw in a bad scenario, but only began to supplement the understanding of the life of the local society, wholly dependent on powerful corporations.
I cannot but highlight the fact that the main character, with a monologue, often appeals to the viewer, and not to his subconscious, this is definitely a good director's move that adds atmosphere.
The main character wants to implement grandiose plans and change the world forever, for the worse or for the better, depends on the perception of the viewer, because here, as everywhere there is politics, there are divisions into opinions: the old order and the new generation. The series demonstrates how the whole world depends on each of us, how everything can be changed if you want.
In general, it is very easy to see, without unexpected turns is also not complete. I would recommend watching.
Mr. Robot is a kind of cross between Fight Club and House of Cards and at the same time a fairly average amateur series with a good soundtrack, cinematography, good actors and a leaky script.
The main mistake of the series is the unsuccessful attempt of the writers to make a candy out of the motif of the struggle of a lonely man with an evil capitalist society in the face of a mega-uber-corporation of evil. Also in the series there are at least two completely illogical moments that do not fit into the structure of the plot (guess which). The rest of the series is very good and interesting. Moreover, if the creators had just made a series about a sociophobic hacker who is going crazy and stopped exclusively on his life and sores, the series would have been much better.
Also Mr. Robot pleases the innovative presentation of the picture somewhere, even in this regard, similar to In all seriousness.
The first season isn't bad. I'm watching season two now. It's worse and boring. There's a chance the series will roll.
Going to see 'Mr. Robot', I tuned in to the best, expected something special, unique, because many spoke about him very flattering. What a disappointment I got after watching...
How many clichés are collected in the series: a worn-out plot about how several people are trying to defeat the system (apparently inspired & #39; Fight Club'); the main character (opposed to society, corporations, etc.) is a sophiophobe programmer who suffers from loneliness, who can hack everything, although at first says that it is impossible; a very bad and evil corporation that enslaved literally the whole world; an anarchist girl who wants to appear different from everyone else; stereotyped dialogue, even, sometimes stupid; underplaying some, the first act, and so on.
Malek plays like cardboard, with cardboard intonation narrates behind the scenes, only sometimes depicting emotions and feelings. Most of the time he is apathetic, which is not like social phobia. I am a sociophobe myself, and I know that sociophobes often experience various reasons, which is not shown in the series. Rami Malek looks a little sleepless, and the behavior of his hero, as noted by some other viewers of the series, more like autism than social phobia.
However, Slater's performance is commendable, as are several other actors.
In the beginning, the series was interesting and hooked. But somewhere closer to the middle, it begins to seem boring, later and completely predictable. And the ending is in the style of films with characters suffering from dissociative identity disorders, such as the above 'Fight Club'.
I don't know, maybe the creators wanted to show how degraded and enslaved society is. However, I think everything is too hyperbolic.
I do not recommend watching those who are over thirteen years old.
If you haven't seen it yet 'Mr. Robot' you did it right.
Take a look at 'Fight Club'
When I saw this series at the age of 12, I would have thought it was an incredibly interesting, deep, highly social series about people who want to change the world by defeating the system.
If you don’t watch the show, that’s how it looks. But when you look at it, it's a dull, stupid thrust. If you do not agree with me, read to the end.
In order.
1) Scenario. Dialogues are stupid and meaningless. The people who wrote the script have no idea how computer programmers communicate.
Half the objects are inexplicably inserted, just for a nice picture. The heroes of the film run and say incoherent emotional phrases, and faded secondary ones are almost never revealed, differing only in appearance.
Although there is some luck like an inadequate drug dealer and boss 'All Save'
2) Installation and operator work. The first half of the season, each glue between shots like a sickle in the balls. And there are no claims to installation, because you can not mount well when the curve is removed. The camera crew really wanted to make a series ' like the dude who shot 'Drive'. But since they didn't understand how that dude shot, they just scattered objects in random places in the frame. For the first time in my life, my eyes were tired. In the last three episodes, people, apparently, finished reading Tarkovsky's manual, and it became pleasant to watch.
(3) Actors. The actors are really good. With a complete misunderstanding of the plot, they manage to give good live sensual emotions. That rare case when the victory was given not because of the director, but in spite of him. (Apart from the stupid blonde, who is nothing of herself, behaves strangely and it is not clear why this film is needed at all.)
4) Directorial work. The director tried very hard to shoot 'fight club, only about hackers'. But he doesn't understand how Fincher made a good movie, and he doesn't understand who hackers are. As a result, none of the characters is really revealed, the whole series is reduced to an unexpected plot twist.
The characters of the series resemble the villains from second-rate fantasy: ' we want to break everything because we are against the system, so we want to break everything' Heroes do not offer any alternative to the world they are fighting. 'Freedom' and ' Justice' for which they seem to have all this muddy mentioned once casually for a tick, while not confirmed visually. Any semantic load is smeared on a sluggish narrative. Why was it necessary to stretch into 10 episodes what could be laid in 3?
3 out of 10
I followed the advice of an old friend and started watching the show.
The idea of the series, at the moment, is very relevant.
Elliot is a brilliant programmer, schizophrenic, drug addict and social phobia. He is trying to lead the world to a better outcome by hacking people online. The action takes place in a dystopian world dominated by the Evil Corporation. Elliot gets into a terrorist organization, short dreams of an economic revolution. That's where it all starts.
The actors in this series are harmoniously selected and cause hypnotic interest throughout the season. One of the most liked (it is me) is Rami Malek, his pauses in dialogue, inhibition in actions, the presentation of a psycho - this is the recipe for the coolest character of a schizophrenic.
The negative moment for me was scenes with homosexuals, so much of them became in the current TV series, I think that this is not good.
But still, there are more positive aspects - this is an actual idea, charismatic characters, music, the sequence of development of the series, all this creates a desire to recommend the series to everyone without exception.
I hope that the next seasons will not be almost worse than the first and Mr. Robot will still save the world.
P.S. After this series, I got a webcam on my laptop.
I want to tell you about the series I watched recently 'Mr.Robot'. It caused me a lot of questions and thoughts. I can tell you right away that this series is not for everyone. In order for this series to bring pleasure from watching, it must be understood and thought through at the end of each series. This series tells the story of a young guy, he is a hacker, but he has mental disorders, namely the initial stage of schizophrenia. At the same time, he leads a normal life, works for a large data protection company from hacking. (Protecting people like him.) He goes to a psychologist, but can no longer help him. He is also a deep sociopath, which is what prevents him from living calmly. And he wants to get rid of it, no matter what. But he also has a secret second life where he helps other people with hacking, he’s like a cyber-batman or cyber-dexter (if anyone has watched the series). This series tells the story of a guy who tries to survive in these realities of our society and survives with the help of his schizophrenia. In general, psychologists have long proven that everyone has this deviation. We are all somewhat schizophrenic with our quirks, our thoughts, our actions, just someone more or less. Maybe that's why we're all so different? You're the one who reads this post and thinks, I'm definitely not, these learned psychologists are talking nonsense again. Really? And remember how you communicated with yourself, just like you did when you went home. They couldn’t sleep because of bad thoughts or thoughts. Each person has their own quirks and psychological barriers, secrets, mazes of defense that makes us normal. In this series, there are a lot of coolly written dialogues, the behavior of characters that will make your brain work. Actors perform their roles better than some top Hollywood stars. You believe their problems, deviations and actions. I don’t want to tell you what the main storyline is, what the meaning is, it’s not even explained. It is just that everyone should understand after watching or not at all. This series doesn’t even teach you how to live or how to act. Sayings and cues only give the brain food for thought, the series does not have the task that after watching it, you changed your life or realized the existence of the universe. If you want to know this by watching TV shows, then you are definitely not here. But this series gives color to any actions of society and wants to show them from a different point of view, from the point of view of a not quite healthy person. If you are not interested in this series, then most likely you like the series of another plan. Shows for fun. After watching this series, you simply can not understand anything, since the writers do not huddle with their viewer, so that everything was clear to him, but ask him the opposite task. But the answer is not on the surface. I don’t know how and what will surprise season 2 of this series, but I can guarantee that dialogue will again cause a brain explosion, not even dialogue, like their analysis and analysis of actions and solving questions with the hero of the series. One of my favorite and key phrases in this series is that everything in our system is built on '0' and '1' (Whoever has studied computer science in school will understand). Zero is no worse than one, just each person has his own place and his own view of situations. Someone always has a 0 answer and someone has 1. Just everyone should understand how often he gives his tasks, what answer?
I would give 10 out of 10 to this series. For dialogue, situations and acting. And I wish this series only to raise the bar, it will be a shame if season 2 is weaker than the 1st. I advise everyone who is tired of stupid popcorn TV shows and wants to understand what it's like to sit after the end of each episode and think for the first 5 minutes, saying to yourself: "Damn, what did I just see? where is there in general, what is understandable and meaningful?'"
I didn’t expect anything from the show '. Robot' but he was not just able to surprise me, but really made me crazy.
Let me start with the main character - Rami Malek very well fit into the image of a loner hacker with small drug addictions. He's a pretty creepy guy, but he also wants to empathize. The role and essence of Christian Slater’s character is truly Golden Globe worthy, so unexpected and cool, mysterious and cruel – the combination is not the best, but very organic, and what he was presented in the last three episodes – brilliance! The musical part fits perfectly into the overall concept, continuing after the final scene of the episode on the credits. The very idea of the series is presented perfectly, the main character has developed its own rules of behavior, the atmosphere with each series is increasingly inflated, and the characters do not stand still and develop.
However, there are small problems with the quality of the series. Series numbers 1, 6, 8, 9, 10 can be considered delightful, their viewing can be considered an extremely successful pastime. Episodes with numbers 2, 5, 7 can be attributed to very good, strong, which lacked quite a bit. But I would remove the 3 and 4 series completely from the whole season, as they do not roll at all against the other eight. They are not just worse than other series, they are in themselves quite average, not intriguing and as if stripped down. The third series has a very unpleasant scene for me, not developed (thank God) in the future, and the fourth is pure drug addiction in every sense, difficult to perceive on a fresh head. I understand the idea that the authors wanted to convey, but it did not work, alas.
But the rest of the first season is a beautiful hacker drama with elements of mysticism and unsurpassed style, it feels like the writers are big fans of Fincher and his work. I cannot say anything realistically, since I am not very familiar with hacking myself, but definitely this is a test score. The first season gets
10 out of 10
P.S. The sharp change of tone in episode 8 was very pleased, I hope that the second season will be no worse, the more joyful that it is already in 2 weeks.
- The secret to my success is I look for the worst in people.
Being a fastidious person, I was looking for a long time which series I should start watching. After many reviews and reviews, my choice fell on the series Mr. Robot. It seemed unusual and I decided to watch it. And you didn't.
The show caught me from the first minute. The plot is famously twisted and does not let the ordinary viewer get bored. You experience heroes and feel your presence. I really liked the fact that the directors came up with the main character of a fictional friend and Elliot like talking to you. Thank you for breaking down the fourth wall between Elliot and me. This makes the series even more extraordinary and interesting.
The main character is Elliot, a simple computer security engineer. He's a brilliant programmer who can hack almost anyone in minutes. So to speak, Robin Hood. He is very self-contained, he is a sociopath. Despite this, our character has charisma. As we watch, we hear more thoughts than words. Despite all this, he sees through people. Their weaknesses, vices, secret desires, he can easily find out by hacking the Facebook page.
I also really liked Elliot’s philosophical reflections, in almost every topic he reflects on the essence of man, the meaning of existence. And after every episode, I think about his words, every, every episode leaves a sweet aftertaste, which I can’t say about many Hollywood blockbusters with a budget of $200,000. I looked and forgot.
If you’ve seen David Fincher’s film Fight Club or Dirt with James McAvl, you just have to watch it!
Philosophical treatise on modern society. Season 1 Mr. Robot
A work of art, in my opinion, should not be limited to the frames and labeled, allegedly WALL-And this is a film for children, ' Sex and the City' - a series for housewives, ' Brokeback Mountain' for homosexuals and so on.
So some who watched this series, positively speaking about the work, call it TV series ' about hackers'. It seems to me that hackers are heroes here, but not a meaningful construct to focus attention on.
In my opinion, hackers are heroes here because they are those who are outside the system, above the law and without borders, have unrestricted access to information, are not subject to social traps and break current attitudes.
Everything looks so truthful and thought through to the details (like a password-cracking theme or one of the possibilities of the arms trade) to tell a looped story in more than one season. You can also glean practical advice, for example, the authors tell us that your webcam can be a means of tracking you, and your savings in banks are not as safe as they try to prove. Make a conclusion and as an option seal the camera, or keep the money under the mattress. However, no one insists on this, but just gives food for thought.
In general, going back to the series, the plot is built on the breaking of storylines and unpredictable in its outcome, leaving us with secrets that the authors will hopefully reveal in the second season. In the course of the story, from unexpected turns, you begin to rewind different series trying to connect everything in your head, not understanding their conditioning in the language that the authors use.
The rising questions about world justice of a handful of idealists and the second-by-second impulses of more down-to-earth individuals to satisfy their needs rest on Machiavellianism and provide a fertile ground for discussions about ends and means. As in 'The Dark Knight' during the Joker's dialogue with Batman or Harvey Dent, where they discuss a society mired in darkness and ways to rectify this situation, agreeing with the existence of this problem, they disagree on how to respond to it. In the series, the Joker and Batman in one person is the main character Elliot Roger performed by the attractive Raheem Malek. Like a manic killer, he sees all the abscesses and ulcers of the system and sees the only way to get rid of it in the destruction of it. At the same time, akin to a wrestler in a bat costume, he is not alien to sympathy for ordinary people with their dead-end lifestyles and limited worldview, in his opinion, of course, so Elliot goes out at night, sometimes as entertainment, in his spare time from work, to fight primitive ' villains'.
Watching this series, you think about the modern order of things and their nature, and you may have a feeling of opposition to this situation, if you turn your head in at least a little and stop driving all the garbage and leaving behind even more garbage (isn’t it strange?). It's a good idea to look at yourself sometimes.
This is not a dystopia, since it does not warn us of impending danger, but broadcasts a fait accompli.
What are the ways out? Find a dark and secluded place, calmly waiting for the Apocalypse, sipping hot chocolate (to your taste). The series presents only a revolutionary method of fighting this world. True, the authors themselves leave the question, what will happen to the world if the outcome is successful? Who will take control, that is, power? Will the government exist and how will it function? Perhaps the notorious world government is behind everything and they keep a finger on the pulse at every blow, so nothing will change in the main?
So the intrigue and level are set, so we expect the story to develop.
Expected to see a series about the life of a real hacker and a geek, in practice it was a mixture of hidden advertising of sex, drug addiction, pederasty, transsexualism - all the charms and realities of Western values and life in general. The series with breaks and a scene of same-sex love caused vomiting. And if at the beginning of the series the plot was really built on the near-computer theme, then by the end the emphasis completely shifted towards the relationship between the main and not so characters of the series.
I felt the same way when I watched The Last Man on Earth. I expected to see a film about Robinson Crusoe in the near future, in practice came the same sociology with its boltology and interweaving of human destinies. And the main rod was just removed. By the end of the season, hacking as an art has already been erased, replaced by boltology and action.
But despite everything, the series looks dynamic, and the desire to watch further wins.
