Modern political strategists and sociologists should read more often fiction, and in our case, fantastic literature, which can lead to very interesting thoughts. For example, that the foresight of the development of the human personality and society (a topic for sociologists, psychologists, sociogeneticists) can be modeled in science fiction literature.
We are talking about the Soviet science fiction Arkady Strugatsky (born in 1925 in Batumi). Most of his works he wrote in collaboration with his brother Boris.
At the beginning of the war, Arkady worked on the construction of defensive structures, in 1942 he evacuated from Leningrad and miraculously - the only one of the carriage - survived. Then he got to the Aktobe Art School, from which he was seconded to study (and possibly rescued) at the Moscow Military Institute of Foreign Languages. His specialization was English and Japanese. Everyone knows that military specialists are taught seriously, and if we consider that they are taught specific disciplines, it is no longer surprising how in the head of Strugatsky could be born so uncharacteristic of his time plans.
Arkady Strugatsky has a reputation as a writer, screenwriter, translator and a classic of science and social fiction. According to the memoirs of his younger brother, his first fantastic work - the story "The Finding of Major Kovalev" - was written before the war, but it has not reached our days. The first known story, How Kang Died, was written in 1946 and published in 2001. The first literary prize he, co-authored with his brother, received in 1959 for the story “The Land of Crimson Clouds”, in the competition for the best book on science and technology, which was held by the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR. In total, the Strugatskys are the owners of more than two dozen awards, a good half of which are foreign. The authors' books have been published in 42 languages in 33 countries.
One of the most famous works of science fiction is the story “Picnic on the Roadside” (written in 1972, published in 1980), according to which
film "Stalker" . Through all the work of Arkady Strugatsky passes the idea of the inadmissibility of technical and social experiments on society and man, even from the best of intentions.
Without the participation of his younger brother Arkady Strugatsky (pseudonym S. Yaroslavtsev) wrote a fairy tale “Expedition to the Underworld”, the story “Details of the life of Nikita Vorontsov”, the story “The Devil among people”. In addition, he translated from the Japanese works of Akutagawa Ryunoske, Kobo Abe, Natsume Soseki, Noma Hiroshi, Sanyutei Entyo.
