Alice Freundlich was born on December 8, 1934 in Leningrad. Her parents Bruno Arturovich and Ksenia Fedorovna were actors. The girl went to school after the end of the Great Patriotic War. It was there that she got into an amateur theater circle. After receiving the certificate in 1953, Alice applied for admission to the Leningrad Theatre Institute, which she successfully graduated in 1957. Having received higher education, Freundlich became a member of the troupe of the V. Komissarzhevskaya Theatre.
