Lembit Ulfsak was born on July 4, 1947 in Estonia, in the village of Kosru. In 1970 he graduated from the acting faculty of the Tallinn Conservatory and since 1971 he has played at the Estonian Youth Theatre in Tallinn, since 1978 he has worked at the A.Kingisepp Academic Drama Theatre. Fame in the USSR brought him the role of Thiel Ulenspiegel in the film by Vladimir Naumov and Alexander Alov “The Legend of Thiel” (1976). Then the artist began to invite a variety of film studios of the country - he played in such famous films as "Death under sail" (William Garnet), "Marshal of the Revolution" (Uborevich), "The Duma of the Kovpak" (Horseshoe), "Yaroslav the Wise" (Aymund), "Theft" (Knox), "Arabella - the daughter of a pirate" (Judas), "The Secret of the Black Thrushes" (Wright), "Academy of Mr. Klyaks" (Andersen), "Mary Poppins, the only date" (Robertson, darling). In 1985, the television series Stanislav Govorukhin “In Search of Captain Grant” was released, in which Lembit Ulfsak played the role of Professor Paganel. In 1987, as a director, he directed the debut film “The Joy of Middle Age”, and in 1992 he directed the film “The Secret Lamb”. After Estonia gained independence, the actor actively starred in his homeland, almost not appearing in Russian films in the 1990s. In 2002, Lembit Ulfsak played a mafia in the Russian television series Cobra, and in 2003 he played the main role in Andrei Razenkov’s film Amber Wings.
