This older actress continues to surprise and delight viewers around the world. Francesca Annis is above all a living legend in the history of English theatre and cinema. On account of her hundreds of roles played with imposing brilliance, and thousands of broken male hearts. Fate gave this actress as much joy as indescribable sorrows, but she came out of all situations with her head held high. Francesca herself is convinced that a person in life is given only such situations with which he can cope.
Francesca Ennis was born on May 26, 1944 in London, the capital of Great Britain. Her childhood in post-war England was rather bleak, and the girl saw the only salvation from everyday grayness in God. She attended monastic schools of her own accord and in the future was going to take a vow and become a nun.
But fate decided otherwise. Even a very young fourteen-year-old Francesca was noticed and invited to star in the film “Cat Gang” (1959). After that, the actress had almost no break in her creative career: she performed in the theater, starred in films and television programs. The actress is best known for the films Cleopatra (1963), Macbeth (1971),
Dune (1984), “Do not cry again, my beloved” (1993), “Doomsday Gun” (1994), “Trapper” (2008).
Despite the fact that Francesca Ennis was adored by thousands of men from all over the world, her personal life was not so smooth. In 1976, she met Patrick Weisman, their romance lasted more than 20 years, but never ended in marriage. During this relationship, Francesca gave birth to three children.
In 1994, playing the role of Gertrude in Hamlet, the actress met the British actor Ralph Fiennes, who in this play was in the lead role. They lived together for eleven years, but on February 7, 2006, the couple announced their separation.
